We were seated right away (obviously) and the food and drinks were all brought to the table pretty fast, as you might imagine. There wasn't any live music Admittedly, we did not get the full Rock & Brews experience since we came in on a Tuesday afternoon. I'm ok with that. The food was good, and I'd return just for that. My main knock on this experience was the filthy air vent right above our table. I can only imagine how much of those dust recirculates back into the restaurant (and onto people's food.) A new restaurant should start clean and be kept clean. One last word of warning, construction in the area is brutal and has absolutely impacted parking if you want to go to Rock & Brews. Leave yourself extra time to find a spot and walk over.

First out the hostess staff is absolutely incompetent . They had no command of the software that they were using to manage reservations and wait list. Arriving a little before peak dinner time we were told a 15 minute wait. After 30 minutes I asked how much longer it was going to be, the response was we are going to go walk the restaurant to see what tables are available. A manager came to the stand 5 minutes later and was able to seat us immediately to a table that was open the entire time. It was so chaotic that one of us received a different menu. Seems that they have a reduced menu currently but one of our party received the full menu with items that were not currently offered. I'm not sure how that even happens. Service, meh. Austin was very friendly and helpful but kitchen brought out 2 entrees about five to ten minutes before the other two entrees came to the table. Now to the food... ugh where to start. Onion rings, overly breaded and not crispy. Blackened chicken Caesar wrap. First mostly lettuce, very little chicken. Second the chicken was cold, so basically time trimmers chicken out of the freezer. Boneless wings. Absolutely no crisp to the breading. Once again seemed like Tyson frozen boneless wings. Burgers. The buns were extremely larger than the burger patty. The burger was over cooked on the outside. Asked for mustard when the burger was brought to the table but it did not show up until the last couple of bites. When it came time to pay the waiter disappeared. I know this is a new location but there were so many issues that I would not recommend this place to others. There are too many other downtown locations than to pay for high priced poor quality food.

We LOVED the cocktails. They were big, strong, fascinating, unique and delicious. Very reasonably priced for what you get. I would rate these as my #1 cocktail of the year so far. We had 3-4 different ones over the course of the night, all great. Next to the apps. We ordered the cheese board, and were disappointed to be served what looked like scraps of cheese kind of sloppily thrown on a board with some crackers and jam. Humboldt Fog is a completely unique concoction with a blue line of ash through the middle, ash on the outside and the cheese kind of getting softer on the edges from interacting with the ash, and age. It is beautiful to look at, but needs to be served in a way where all of that is visible. Our portion looked like somebody scooped it out of a wheel and kind of smeared it on the board. Just random chunks and pieces. The other cheeses were fine, but not exactly presented in a great way. Bread was good, the onion butter was interesting, though not to everybody's taste. But for a $10 bread app, just kind of expected more here. Entrees. Burger was 10/10. Delicious. Fries are an extra $9. Seems like an $17 burger needs something with it. But it was great. Thai grilled shrimp were delicious, with a delicious creamy red curry sauce. The other stuff (melon, cucumber, basil, mint) didn't really seem to be very present, and the entree contains only 3 shrimp, a fact that our waiter helpfully warned us about. For a $40 entree with pretty much only shrimp and sauce, that is $13.33 per shrimp, but who is counting! Yummy, but definitely felt a bit taken here. NY Strip. An average NY strip with an average Au Poivre sauce. Not even a discernible hint of the promised Szechuan pepper. Everybody tried the sauce trying to find it, nobody did. Steakhouse pricing without the Steakhouse. SIdes: Antipasti: Inedible. Looked bad, tasted bad, nobody could figure out what they were trying to do. We hated them. $17 Smashed potatoes: Everybody disliked these as well. Nobody could really figure out what they were supposed to be, but what they came out as were kind of lukewarm and flavor-challenged with no really identifiable bacon or cheddar or scallions. The cheddar seemed to be Kraft dinner powdered cheese. They were weird. Hated these too. $14 Mac & Cheese: This was good though not $17 worth of good. Then the power went out. We had all of our food and you could see, so no problem for us. It had the potential to be kind of fun, and we seemed to be at the end of the night, so no worries there. But the staff kind of got annoyed, our waiter (who we liked) disappeared and we were not offered anything else, no drinks, water, dessert. I realize that it is a giant PAIN IN THE ASS to close a restaurant with no power, but that is not the fault of your customers who just happened to be there when the power failed. At least make an effort to try to be hospitable. At the end of the night, we felt that the drinks were GREAT, some of the food was really good, and a lot of it just missed. Did we hit a bad night? New cooks? Order the wrong things? Not sure. Just felt that they were really pushing it on the value/pricing scale. and for the $400 we spent for 4 people with a (big) tip I just expect something a bit greater than what we got. Has potential, but probably not going to risk another $400 to find out.

We had a few options for private rooms, but they suggested the main dining area for the lighting, which was really nice. There were multiple linen options we were able to choose from (pink options in pic) and these were included in the total cost. The whole room was set up according to how many seats we wanted at each table and they were fully prepared for us to start decorating as soon as we arrived. The personal bartender also arrived early and prepped the station long before guests arrived. The food was all delicious. We had buffet style (set up shown in one picture by fireplace). Way too busy enjoying ourselves to take pictures of food. The buffet was about 10 minutes later than expected, but there was a party of 80 at the same time and no one seemed bothered by this. We chose chicken tenders and fries for the kids attending and this was promptly served about 15 minutes before the buffet so the parents were able to help feed before getting their own food. Rolls- really classic white bread rolls. Exactly what you want. Green beans - these were sooo good! Very buttery and surprising! Potatoes- hasselback style, cut in halves. Also so buttery and perfectly salted. Tuscan chicken- thin sliced chicken breasts with sun dried tomato and a creamy Tuscan sauce. This was extremely delicious. Salmon- I cannot remember the flavor we chose but perfectly cooked and flavorful, cut into about 1.5" pieces so it didn't feel overwhelming to choose one of everything. Salad - classic salad with tomato and cucumber. We chose a ranch and vinaigrette. The table had Parmesan cheese, half and half creamer, sugar, and butter available. They allowed us to bring in our own cupcakes as dessert ($1/person) and served regular/ decaf coffee with this. This room could definitely fit more people. Our set up was 6 round tables of 6 but they were very flexible with how we wanted these set up and number of chairs per table. Overall, great experience. I can't wait to come back for dinner!
