How do you expect to run a successful business and build something that'll last if you refuse to hire professionals? This place is a JOKE, has to be the worst Pizza I've ever had. I've tried this place three different times and ALL three times I had an issue. It was a waste of my gas to drive to Sidecar in Birmingham to eat and everything was a disaster from the moment I was seated. I have passed by Sidecar in Birmingham so many times, and strolled past it more occasions than I can count. I have always avoided the place because there is always someone inside of it who is racist and anything but professional. This corniest thing about management here is that it seems to train workers to only like it when whites sit at their eatery. Be sure to hold onto to a copy of your receipt if you wish to be refunded for the unpleasant blah-slop they will serve you. The food here looked like someone sat on it when I bought it, and it was flavorless from started to finish. Honestly, I was skeptical about coming here based on reviews and I wish I had listened to the complaints. One waitress was apologetic to me when I came back to complain, so sad for her because she was not the owner of this dump who has the personality of a headless turkey. This was my first time at this location, I went to their previous Birmingham location years ago. My fiance and I do delivery pretty frequently from Sidecar and it's either this location or the Farmington one, it always varies. I was working in the office today and was able to walk here, so I ordered small cheese curds, the 2:00 a.m. burger minus the ketchup, and a fried chicken slider, hold the lettuce and hot sauce, and extra maple syrup, which is my go-to order. I also like the mushroom Swiss slider and a few others, but these are my favorites. For takeout, I met Larry at the bar and was able to pay with my credit card. I phoned my order in because it's cheaper than doing DoorDash pick up. This feels like a smaller location than the previous Birmingham one, but apparently they also have a cocktail bar next door and a pizza place all rolled into one. I've been looking for some quick takeout places for when I work at the office and I'm wondering if their pizza place does takeout. Sidecar isn't cheap, my bill was about $19 for those three items, but it's always delicious. This review is slightly unfair because I'm combining food from both sidecar and the joint restaurant Slice as you can order either at Sidecar. Starting with the good; the sliders are legit. Slightly more elevated than Hunter House type slider, the Drive-Thru hit the spot. A classic burger turned into slider form. Very good. The less than great is the pizza. The pepperoni slice was greasy and lacking in flavor (cheese was very neutral tasting). The 12 in round meatlovers pizza had too many toppings. I'm all for more toppings and loading up a pizza, but when you can't lift it up without half the slice flopping and 1/4 of the meat falling off, it might be a bit too much. We were not sure what to expect but everything was great. They have an extensive slider menu with something for everyone. My daughter had the chicken tenders and the order was huge. They looked like they were hand breaded and homemade. Huge pieces of chicken. We asked to put in our daughter's food order right away and the food came up quick. The drinks were good too. So this place started as a 4, through the experience went to a three by the time I got the bill, a two. Super hipster vibe. I just moved here from Baton Rogue and was checking out the town for a bite to eat. I thought this place was so cool. I really loved the atmosphere with the blue lights and checkered floors. I came here on a Monday afternoon and had no trouble seating at all. I was sat outside and was quickly approached by the manager and server. They were both so friendly and warming I was actually excited to dine here and try what they had! Automatically I knew that this menu was right up my alley. Typical sliders and bar food which I love. I ordered the chili cheese fries, drive thru slider, mac and cheese slider, breakfast slider, and the big country. I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed. The sliders were decently sized for the price, but the meat was all over cooked and hard. The big country was fried chicken instead of beef and it was easily the best slider, it was so good! The other sliders were good, but over cooked meat made them not as satisfying. The fries were also good, I love a cheese sauce. Overall, I had really great customer service. The manager checked up on us a couple times, the server was great. If it wasn't for the meat, this would've been an easy 5 stars. I'll have to come back and try some of the other sliders! Hands down one of the best duck appetizers in metro Detroit. I've never had anything like it. Battered thin duck strips with a not too sweet teriyaki sauce sprinkled over. Tonight was a major disappointment as we ordered carry out but a couple items were missing which is very annoying but glad we checked so we went back in to get them. They were stacked, messy, the bread is covered in sauce. No one would open it and be happy to eat it is where I'm getting at. So we go back inside AGAIN! Gabby was NOT very pleasant with no hospitality and seemed like she could care less that there is a issue. when I showed her this is how I received it she just looked at me "so do you want us to remake it" ummm well would you eat this when you can't even make out what it is that you ordered? Thank goodness for their host, Alexis! She was the only kind person with amazing hospitality which is very important as that's the first face you see when you walk in. I will say I did wait rather long time for 2 hot dogs and it wasn't busy as I've seen sidecar busier. Alexis went to go check and the food was ready... the manager, Gabby, did not even bring it when it was ready? I was surprised to find Gabby the manager as that made the whole experience worse to know who it's being managed by to be honest. I thought this place was amazing. There's a parking lot right across the street, they offer two hour parking for free. They have an amazing happy hour special with $2 pizza slices and $6 apps.
