To start, I want to say the vibes are always good here! I love the ambiance and the food is delicious. Definitely a place to come with your friends after a long week or day of work to enjoy the happy hour specials! The menu has many food and drink specials from 3-6:30pm. I've never been disappointed! Our waitress was great and made sure we had a well spent girl dinner :)
We went to 220 Merrill for the first time for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We were in the back of the restaurant where they had high top standing tables for cocktails, and long banquet style tables for dinner. Multiple servers came around to take drink orders. I inquired about a drink another guest had, and the server said it was a mocktail that had white peach, strawberry, and coconut. I was disappointed because I have a coconut allergy, but the server immediately offered to bring me one without coconut. Appetizers were set on the banquet tables, and we could help ourselves. The shrimp were MASSIVE and they also had raw oysters served with them. They offered multiple sauces on the side for them. They also had dishes with cured meats, cubed cheese, and grape on the table. The dinner was served buffet style. All of the food was hot in the serving dishes. I was able to sample each of the offerings: Mediterranean crunch salad, sweet and spicy calamari, roasted vegetables, roasted potatoes, vodka rigatoni, Alfredo rigatoni, grilled chicken, salmon, and filet mignon. I am not personally a big fan of pasta or red sauce, but the spicy vodka rigatoni was AMAZING. the Alfredo rigatoni and roasted potatoes were also great. I do think that the roasted vegetables would have benefited from some seasonings, and the salmon could have used a sauce or additional seasonings. The grilled chicken was personallyt favorite protein. The filet mignon did have some pink in the middle, but it was still a bit on the dry side. During dessert they brought out trays of mini desserts to each table. At this time the server who had taken my drink order hours early came to my table and brought me a giant portion of mango sorbet. He told me that he didn't know if I could eat any of the desserts, so he verified that the mango sorbet did not have any coconut in it and brought some for me. It was so nice!!! He remembered a comment I had made hours earlier, and unprompted brought my own allergy free dessert. I wish I had gotten his name! It really made my night. I will definitely be back in the future! The lighting was intimate , the service was spectacular, and the spicy rigatoni was great.
I've been wanting to try 220 for quite some time and finally got around to having it for carryout lunch. I liked the packaging with foil to help insulate the food. I ordered the 220 burger that came with fries. Price was about $20 which I was totally fine with. The food was very good. Lots of flavor on the burger. The various toppings worked quite well. My one knock would be the bun; it wasn't toasted so the burger lacked some structural integrity. That and the onion jam which seemed more like cooked onions than an actual jam. Overall, an A rating for a burger (2nd best tier). The fries were plentiful and had nice crisp. A little more salt could have boosted them even higher, but I was pleased with them. Overall, really solid burger and fries.

My friends had the 220 burger which they enjoyed, and tasted really good and the burger was cooked to perfection! I loved the atmosphere as well.
We went here to try some where new for my husbands birthday with friends. They have outdoor seating and inside dining as well as valet service. We had gotten the meatball appetizer and calamari which was amazing. The guys got steaks they were just ok. But the best items hands down were the lamb chops, millionaire rice and the carbonara. The cocktails were good and they have a nice wine list. We ended with the carrot cake which was good also. It's a bit loud inside and it appears that the evening changes over to be more of a club setting with a DJ as we noticed the customers seemed to change over to a younger crowd. We aren't from the area so that could be accurate for the downtown night life.
The staff was friendly. The place always looks classy and upscale the had great festive appeal for the holidays. We ordered some shareables like the truffle fries, croissant bread pudding and the miso sea bass wraps. Along with a Caeser salad with chicken, mini lobster and shrimp rolls. The plating looked amazing. The truffle fries tasted great you can taste the Parmesan and the truffle flavor was light but fragrant. The croissant bread pudding was so nice, they had so much flavor but I wouldn't have called it bread pudding. It was a croissant with cheese but there wasn't any type of pudding other than a liquid sauce. The miso sea bass wraps were outstanding so flavorful in such a few bites. The mini lobster roll was fresh and tasty but it needed more sauce.
More like a 3.5. Food was great but a little slow, and it was so loud in there that I couldn't hear a word the people next to me were saying. But the service and vibe were great!

Outstanding food and service! The Shrimp Scampi Pasta was rich, and perfectly cooked. The crispy chicken wings were just as amazing, with that perfect golden crunch. Absolutely delicious! Even the ambiance was nice.
Came here for happy hour, the bar was packed but we were able to get a high top for two. Ordered the Spicy Honey chicken. Wings, meatballs and crispy tuna tacos. The wings were like eating air...no flavor at all. Did not get any spice, honey or seasoning. The meatballs did not have much seasoning either but the cheese helped elevate it some. The tuna tacos were amazing, packed with tuna and flavor. Our waitress was a doll, very friendly and efficient.
Need to update this to 5 stars! I love that they have halal options (Creekstone steak and halal chicken). My favorite items are the chicken parm, ricotta spinach flatbread and truffle fries. Their indoor ambience is beautiful and perfect for special celebrations. Their patio seating is so nice for warm summer days.
Still a fun place to meet friends after all these years! The dining room is light and airy in the summer. Even on Mondays there will be a sizeable crowd at the bar area. The service is excellent and the food is tasty, but like many places, over seasoned. I had the sea bass and tasted the short rib. The fish and its accompanying rice were steamed in coconut milk - beautiful! The short rib was melt in your mouth tender, seasoned with truffle. We topped it off with the creme brûlée cheesecake (shared between 3 was perfect)! read more

My best friend's bridal "sprinkle" brunch was held at this charming little gem. I joined a party of seven ladies. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, with ample photo opportunities. Our attentive and patient server was always ready to answer any questions we had. Our drinks arrived promptly, and we started with mimosas, which were okay but a bit pricey. I should have opted for the delicious lemon drop instead. After scanning the restaurant for other patrons' food, we decided to order veggie omelets, steak tacos, burgers, and a breakfast special. The table across from us had ordered a plate of cinnamon roll pancakes, which looked absolutely divine. It was an incredibly generous portion, but unfortunately, no one else wanted to share. Maybe next time. We had a slight wait for our food, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was piping hot and incredibly delicious. I couldn't resist ordering the signature burger special from TikTok, which came with garlic truffle fries and a glass of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and each other's company. I highly recommend this place, and they have a great happy hour during the week. read more

They are so great. Been going here for years. Great service great food. Had the Chicken parm. Been to many many restaurants and this was the best parm. We had the cotton candy dessert. Really cool. Great atmosphere especially in the summer. read more

Im a nerd. I make itineraries when I travel. TikTok and Reels both recommend 220 Merrill for brunch. Unfortunately, our Amtrak train was delayed and we did not get to the restaurant until after brunch was over. Still, it was amazing. My husband had the burger and I had the turkey club. So good. But... the brunch was on our itinerary. So... I had to go back the next morning to get it. Am so happy I did. I had a great mocktail and the croissant bread pudding. So yum. And the service.... Even better. Shannon was so knowledgeable about the menu. And took photos of us a when asked. He was fantastic! read more

Had a first date here this evening. Ambiance was great and service was excellent. Our server, sophia (or sophie, my apologies on not having the exact name) was so hard working and helped us out deeply. I do think the miso sea bass could be marinated a little longer in the sauce because i was only getting a hint of that flavor. I will also note that the pepper on top was very spicy to me. I do have a low spice tolerance, but i can handle jalapeños, but this pepper took me right out. The rice was excellent. I did like this dish but i would try something else in the future. No notes on the desserts- so good! Thank you for a wonderful evening! read more

Came here for brunch and everything hit the spot. The vibe is cozy but still stylish, and it wasn't too loud or packed which made it easy to relax and enjoy the food. Our server Basheer was great--super chill, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. We tried a little bit of everything. The French toast was thick and soft with a really good cream drizzle and fresh berries on top. Definitely a must if you have a sweet tooth. The truffle fries were addicting and perfectly crispy. I had a salad with grilled chicken that was actually super filling and fresh, and we also had a couple omelets that came with these crispy smashed potatoes--so good. Also had an espresso martini which was smooth and not too strong, just right for brunch. Overall, the food was tasty, the service was on point, and it's a spot I'd definitely come back to. read more
We had dinner here in the back room. The ambiance is loud, but dark. The room was full on a Tuesday evening, lively, and fun. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It was delicious and full of flavor. I tried my mom's lamb as well. It came with yellow rice. It was great too! For dessert we had the tres leeches cake with fruit. It was one of the best I've had. Our server was sweet and attentive. Located in the original Edison building, this location has gone through a lot of change from being a place where individuals could pay their bills and get items repaired to multiple restaurants. The history of the building is so cool! Make sure to look up the details! Since being a restaurant, this spot has gone through 3 renovations. I can't compare to the past, but this one is cute. Definitely a girlie vibe, but lots of dudes come here too. My husband sat in the bar so we could people watch. Great location by the window (table for 2) and views of the restaurant, patio, and the outside area. We started off with a couple of cocktails. For dinner, we ordered the salmon, short ribs, and the wild mushrooms. Good flavors and portion sizes. We weren't offered a dessert menu to peak at but we saw others indulging and they are giant. Definitely Instagramable desserts! I probably would have ordered one for a few bites and a lot of pictures. We came on a Friday night. They only take reservations for 3 or more people. Every single thing be told us to get was amazing. Ani made us feel so welcome and honestly just made the whole experience 10x better. Definitely ask for Ani if you visit here!!! Oh man, wish I took photos of our entrees too, but we destroyed them. We got here during their happy hour menu, so we didn't have access to their lunch and dinner menus, which was a bummer. That said, everything we got hitttttt the spot. No complaints. From the happy hour menu, can't go wrong with the chicken wrap, burger meatballs, and fries. read more
Back "home" in the D for a quick 48 hours, I was able to squeeze in a visit with friends and we ended up here at 220 Merrill. It was this past Saturday evening, and my friend Sloan picked me up from the airport ... My flight landed DTW at 7:30 and we were at a table meeting our friends Ali and Evan for drinks / dinner at 220 Merrill by 8:30. Thanks to Ali and Evan for scoring the table in the bar for all of us! It was a cold evening, so I so appreciated the valet parking situation (and the one working heat lamp outside on the tail end) too! I was amazed with how crowded the place was considering the freezing cold weather and darkness outside! It was a fun ambiance with great energy but it was super loud... I couldn't hear half the conversation that Ali and Sloan were having right next to me and I don't think Evan could hear half of what I was saying either! Service was attentive... we had drinks pretty quickly and food shortly after. Everyone enjoyed the food they had including a Greek Salad, Steak, Truffle Fries, Oysters and Shrimp Cocktail. (Thanks Sloan for sharing those last three items with me... I needed some comfort food that night and our selections were perfect!). 220 Merrill has quite the history, so if you find yourself in the area seeking American cuisine and/or a full bar in an upscale, fun albeit a bit loud environment, check it out! read more

The staff is truly one of a kind great attitudes they work together even though it was crowded the team work truly made the dream work they were social funny and friendly which I loved so much . They do have a cute happy hour cocktail selection and a vegan salad that was so delicious . 10/10 I'll be back again don't be surprised if I become a regular read more

My friends and I visited here in warmer weather and we were able to sit out on the patio. It was cute and cozy! I started out with the oysters which were fresh and delicious. Sticking to the seafood theme, I went with the Birmingham salad, which had calamari, shrimp, avocado, and a light dressing. It was very filling! The waitstaff was friendly and helpful, and also knowledgeable about their menu, and able to accommodate my friend with a dairy allergy. I'd come back here again read more

We went to 220 for a girls' night out on Saturday night. Upon arrival, we are promptly seated in the bar area, which also has dining area separated from the main dining room in the back. The atmosphere was lively and loud but not in a bad way. Our waiter promptly came over and filled our water glasses and asked us for our drink selection. The service was prompt. We each ordered something different for dinner, but we shared the mushrooms as our appetizer. The mushrooms were good but the portion size was small. For dinner we had the Seabass, the Bronzino and one of the flatbread pizzas. The seabass was delicately prepared and very flavorful. I would definitely order it again. My friends also ordered desserts, which were impressive to say the least. They definitely were fit to be shared. The wines were delicious. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay on the wine list. On the way out, the host was kind enough to take our picture despite the busy evening. I would definitely come back to 220. read more
