It is a cigar bar that serves food (which I did not think was legal in Michigan). We came for the band, good friend plays sax, but over all we liked it. I did not get the cigar smell punch in the face when we entered so that was good. They have a pretty good tap, full bar and our server, whose name I don't recall (beautiful young African-American lady) was spot on perfect. Will be back. read more

This is our "go to" place most nights. A great, if somewhat smallish, dance floor. Live usic is exceptional most nights. First and Last band (pic below) were our favorite this month. Hope to see them again! Can have slight smokey smell, especially on weekends, as it is a cigar bar. Great drinks and serive. Cody, Nick and other staff are first rate.Food is exceptional for bar fare. read more

Nice cigar lounge. Tables, bar and lounge seating. Small humidors but they have a nice selection. They do also allow outside cigars. Craft cocktails and food available. Live band was loud but nice. Dance floor. Nice atmosphere. We sat at the bar. Served by a gentleman. Everyone was nice but our service was a little slow. We had the Lavender Fields and the SCL smoked old fashioned both drinks were very good. Craft drinks were pricey. Nice date night if you like cigars! Will be back to try food soon. read more

First time at the lounge/cigar bar. I had a drink called The Floosie. Good alcohol content. Tried the Big Kitty Burger, and it was pretty good. I also tried my first cigar; it was a Deadwood Sweet Jane. Nice experience. It was pretty lively, too. Packed house, live bad, and good energy. You can dress up or down. I would recommend reserving a table, though. It was standing room only tonight after, since we got the last table. This is a great spot for a girls' night or after work meet-up spot. Visited the Lounge for live music night and had a wonderful time. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, the drinks were delicious and appetizers were great portion sizes. The ventilation is wonderful in the Lounge, of course there is a smoke smell but it is not smoky in the lounge and the smell is not overwhelming. Will definitely visit again read more

I wish I knew that everything online(website included) pertaining to Happy Hour is outdated. There is no happy hour food menu. Food menu has changed. Happy hour starts at 5pm not 4pm. It's only 1/2 off priced house wine on Fridays. $14 for this appetizer. I wasn't happy but made the best of it. read more

Was looking forward to a great night with good food, drinks and music unfortunately, that didn't happen at this place. Upon entering, I felt like we weren't welcome as it took someone 5 minutes to acknowledge us and they barely had any customers. When they finally acknowledged us, I provided my reservation/Eventbrite registration. They said they do not honor these registrations and they are not that high tech. The young woman said find any open seating that did not have a reserved sign and we did only to be told we couldn't sit there and she'd have to find us another seat. That was it for us and my husband and let's go where we're welcome so we walked out. I felt like I was subtly discriminated on and that will not be tolerated. We will gladly take our dollars somewhere else. If I could provide 0 stars I would. read more

We have both been here before and enjoyed it. It's a place for a cigar and martini and relaxing. Or ... A place for dancing and enjoying a live band. It depends on the day and time that you go. We have been in both occasions. The place could use some updates but the drinks are spot on. We definitely recommend checking it out. read more

We were out and about on a Sunday night....I guess you could say, we were two cats on the prowl :) We were looking for a spot to land and enjoy a drink. I've been to the Stray Cat Lounge on a few occasions over the years, but this would be my friend's first time. Being a Sunday evening, the lounge wasn't busy. We found a cozy little spot to relax, ordered a few drinks and picked out a flavorful cigar. On Sunday's they have a special on all draft beer and a few food items, too. The flatbread pizza was a $5 and it was delicious. We also ordered the crab dip and I really enjoyed it; to be honest, I enjoy anything with cheese! lol My favorite is the lemon drop martini, but they have an extensive variety of martini options on the menu. Our server's name was Cindy and she was on top of her game! There are multiple tvs to watch sporting events, and during the weekend, they also have live bands and a dance floor. A few things: Be prepared for cigar smoke and the couch areas could really use some new furniture. It's too nice of a space for worn out couches. read more

Let's get into it! This was an amazing time, from the moment we walked in it was great customer service. My fiancé celebrated his 41st birthday here. This was our first time ever visiting this establishment and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The waitresses Toni and Liz were amazing, very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The owner Jackie was very kind and welcoming and made us feel like superstars. It was a group of 9 and the vibes and energy was right. The live band was amazing and it was a perfect night. This place seems like an underrated gem! The atmosphere is very speak-easy and relaxed, the drinks are FANTASTIC, they seem to always have live music going on, the patrons are nice, the staff is attentive, the food is a notch above mundane bar food so you won't regret ordering any, and the cigar selection is impressively ranged! My girlfriend wanted to come here, so we went on Saturday night. Got to see Sonic Freeway do some live music covers. Overall, we had a great experience. Environment: Great lighting, a small dance floor near the stage, comfortable seating. It's a cigar bar, and you will smell the smoke, but it isn't that bad. 5 stars to the setting. Food: We only got some pretzels and beer cheese. It was $11, but it hit the spot. Great tasting cheese too. Well done on the app. Drinks: The girl and I were feeling casual, so we checked out the $3 mystery beers. I think it was a straight up IPA, and it was delicious. Good choice for a mystery drink. We got them again later that nice. Music: Loved the covers. Good song choices, and a lively atmosphere. We got to dance a little and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service: We sat at the bar. Bartender was super friendly, and I really have no complaints on the speed of service. Overall, the evening was chill, fun, and we are coming back on of these days. I can't complain about the drinks, or the food, or the service, or anything. This bar is a very well-rounded place that I don't mind spending some money on every now and then. read more

Fantastic place, great crowd, awesome music, fantastic menu, amazing cigar selection...unlike anything else in this area. Truly a diamond in the rough. An atmosphere like no other. If you haven't been here yet, WHY NOT?! You'd be spending a lot more than this in Royal Osk or Ferndale to feel "hip", whilst be overcrowded and pushed around. Long live the Stray Cat! First time, going here for my buddy's 60th birthday, party. It's was great the owner, is beyond sweet and the waiter, is on top of his game!! It reminds me of cheers, how you get treated, drinks are strong, I don't smoke cigars, but the smell was not over whelming, like some places. Its a cigar bar, so expect a ton of smoke. I have been to nicer cigar bars where you barely notice the smoke, this is not one of those places. For folks who only smoke cigarettes you will have to buy their cigarillos, they don't allow cigarettes in a cigar bar for some reason. Drinks are reasonably priced and the waitress we had was pretty punctual, lots of 80s music if that is your scene, and cleanliness was average. read more

This is one of those unfortunate instances where I wish I could give a 3.5* rating. Everything was ok, but definitely not great. The place is loud, and way too bright, especially for an intimate experience after 8:30pm or so. We would have loved to stick around for another couple cocktails, if the cocktails and ambience were good, they weren't. The "craft cocktail" ol' fashioned was improperly garnished w/ a whole 1/4 of an orange slice, instead of the peel, it was improperly essenced, and had an improper amount of simple syrup. It was essentially a shot of bourbon with a cherry and an orange peel. Tasted terrible. The drink lacked all of the taste and trappings of the advertised craft "burnt sugar" old fashioned. Additionally, they use a 1/2 of an ice ball, which would not have been offensive, if the rest of the drink was up to par, but as it was, the cocktail seemed cheap and off-putting. 2.0/10 My date ordered a "figgy sweater," a citrusy cocktail with vodka, also off of the "craft cocktails" menu. Her drink had the opposite problem. It tasted like a lemonade with no alcohol at all, or watered down alcohol. She's a fairly lightweight that does not like strong drinks, gets tipsy off of two, and she complained throughout its consumption that the drink seemed weak and not worth ordering another. 2.0/10 We were both interested in another cocktail, but due to the loud nature of the place, the over abundance of light, and the poorly crafted cocktails, we drove to another establishment for our second round. Food ordered: Seafood Chowder - Great job, delicious, ample seafood throughout 9.5/10 Brisket Poutine - Good but it lacked cheese curds and gravy. 7.0/10 Beef tenderloin tips - terrible... the dish came out cold, we ordered the GF option, and the bread substitute was gross. The dish was overly salty, and the beef was way, way over cooked; not even medium well, most of it was well done, and tough; this was $30 wasted, we barely touched it and it's still in the fridge two days later. I'll likely throw it out. 2.0/10 Chicken Fried Lobster - nice dish, I hated the dill, but my date licked it. The dill aside, it was delicious; nice presentation, great tasting waffle, w/ well favored garnishes. However, the dish was barely warm when it came out, the ricotta/cream soaked into the waffle, and it was soggy. If it came out of the kitchen promptly it would have likely been better. 7.0/10 I'd consider ordering the chicken fried waffle again, but bad cocktails will likely keep me away. It's tough to pay $30+ in bad cocktails to accompany a $100+ meal. I'd strongly suggest turning down the lights after 8:30pm or so, and installing some noise canceling/light panels to bring the ceiling height down, quiet the place down some, and make it seem more intimate. The two tables opposite the the kitchen, in the damn hallway to the bathroom, should either be gotten rid of, made into high-tops, or install a lower counter-service along that wall for a "chef's experience." Those tables absolutely suck. We sat at them at our first visit, they tried to sit us there for our 2nd visit, but moved us after our objection. I laughed a bit throughout our meal as the people that were subsequently seated at those tables complained during their meal of the constant bumps, and interruptions that come with the territory. Finally, our waitress did a great job. The food runner was late on a couple of our dishes, resulting in cold food, but the waitress' service seemed great.

Immediately upon walking in, my friend and I had our breath taken away. The venue is clean, with a simplified traditional Middle Eastern decor. The couches are new and nice, definitely isn't cramped. We were given the choice of a Unity, KM, or Starbuzz hookah to smoke from. We chose an Al-Fakher grape mint KM. We definitely had to go with a KM because we're admittedly snobby smokers and because we have our own, don't normally go out to smoke. It was $17, which is normal for a hookah + orange head. The pack was awesome - great pull, long lasting. The woman who was replacing coals came by and checked on them about every 15 minutes, so the smoke never ran low. I lost count, but she switched our coals at least four times and we were there about two hours. The tobacco never burned and never lost its flavor. The music was loud, but we were still able to talk at a comfortable volume. I have no complaints. They were playing late 90's and early 00's music, but I figure that was just the night's theme. Overall, this was a great experience and I must say - I was pleasantly surprised.

Update after owner's response: I saw the owner's reply and I…read moreneed to clear some things up. 1. 21+ Bathroom Policy: You let my under-21 friend use the bathroom when we asked, and both under-21 guests went to sit in the car afterward. If you really enforce "strict 21+," you should've said no upfront, not agreed in the moment and then use it against us later. You also did say you used to allow 18+ but like we said well can she just use the restroom and you agreed 2. Hookah Policy Contradiction: You claimed we tried to "smoke inside against policy." The whole point of a hookah lounge is to smoke hookah. What you actually told us was that we couldn't smoke in the lounge at all -- meanwhile, other guests were allowed to stay until 2 AM smoking after close. That's favoritism, plain and simple. 3. Music & Dancing: You had hype music playing. Naturally, some of us danced near our own table. The lounge was nearly empty, nobody complained, and it wasn't disruptive. To exaggerate this into "loud and disorderly" is dishonest and plays into stereotypes. 4. "Arrived Intoxicated" Claim: Two guests weren't drinking at all. The three of us who were of age had a few drinks, still under the legal driving limit in Michigan, and were fully functioning. To twist that into "arrived intoxicated" is an unfair stretch. 5. Mess Accusation: We didn't leave a mess inside or outside. If you want to accuse us of that, at least say what the "mess" supposedly was. 6. Your Conduct: Your approach was not polite. Telling us sarcastically, "thanks for the Yelp review, now leave in five minutes or else" is not professional. And to be clear, I'm not the only one -- since posting my review, people have personally reached out to me with their own bad experiences including a former employee who said working with them was a nightmare, at this location, which tells me this isn't an isolated incident. Your response doesn't match reality. Instead of accountability, you twisted the story to save face

The ambiance is above average; it is nice but not extravagant and you'll fit right in with Saturday errand running attire. My only suggestions are that they add flights and more non dairy small plate items. Overall I did enjoy my time here.
