I found this place on Yelp and decided to try it because of the many gluten-free options, and it did not disappoint. The space is small but super cozy and very charming There's a main level and a lower level (I didn't get to see the downstairs area), but the vibe upstairs alone was enough to win me over. I especially loved the picture-framed TV (which didn't look like a TV) was such a unique touch. Our service was amazing from start to finish. Marcus, our server, was incredibly kind and attentive. He took my food allergies seriously and helped me find the perfect dish, which I really appreciated. My friend ordered the French Dip Smashburger and said it was incredible, especially with the dip sauce. The drinks were just as impressive. I had a refreshing cocktail with cilantro in it which was different, but surprisingly delightful. Overall, it was a great experience, and I definitely plan to come back to try more items on the menu!

Came here for a girls night birthday celebration and we had a wonderful time! It was excited to see the new restaurant in the Mad Hatter space. Space is a bit tight but redecorated nicely! We were in the upstairs space and did t see the new downstairs yet. Our server was the sweetest and our table loved her! At her recommendation, we started with the langos to share which we all devoured. For mains, we split the beet and burrata crispy Brussels sprout salad, rigatoni diavolo pasta, braised balsamic short rib, and spaghetti squash with sautéed vegetables. The short rib was definitely the clear favorite, followed by the pasta! We were all appropriately stuffed after this meal, and split a birthday dessert to end our night. Would definitely come back to Bell Bistro!

I will say the ambiance is quite good here with the sultry lighting and nuetral tones. My server was very polite and attending. Starting off to drink I got the vendita cocktail. I was explained it was kind of like a margarita and it can come spicy which I ordered it like that. It tasted watery and not spicy at all. So I was starting off a little underwhelmed. But to eat, I got the smash burger and it was really good. It came with fries and I asked for ranch. I tried the mushroom pasta as well as the Caesar salad with salmon added and it was all yummy. I would give 4 stars for this place but bc I was disappointed with the drink ( especially considering it was like 26$) I would give this 3.5/5

My friend and I had a full-on girls' day out, and we wrapped it up at Bell Bistro! It was the best decision. The vibe was cool and the food was yummy. I definitely plan to come back!

Came here for a happy hour and it was wonderful!! We were welcomed in by the host and orders were taken quickly. The wagyu meatball was by far the best thing that we ordered. I wish there were more bread pieces to eat with it but overall amazing. The Brussels sprouts and chopped salad were delicious and well balanced. The langos (fried thing) ate really heavy with the cheese and stuff on top of it. It felt very difficult to finish. The burger was good but only at the happy hour price. Personally I wanted a pickle on the burger .... There was not one. Decent place with decent prices.

Great food, great ambience, and lovely dining experience. The menu is amazing and I can't wait to come back to this place with my family. I enjoyed a great girls night out. I ordered the salmon which was a huge piece cooked to perfection. I also ordered the beet salad and tried their trout, which were also excellent. For dessert, we ate the fried donuts which were decadent and delicious.

Lovely little bistro in the downtown area of Birmingham on Old Woodward, Bell Bistro was a fun stop for a nice HH. The Happy Hour menu has some great options, giving a great glimpse of staple menu items especially the smash burger and fries (which was delicious) - service was attentive but not overbearing, our server was great with identifying when drinks were low but not hovering. Plenty of great menu options to try from, and was surprisingly quiet for a great HH - but I loved the food and the atmosphere so will definitely be back again soon!

Delicious food & friendly, professional service. So refreshing to have kind service in a nice establishment. The ambiance is gorgeous. I came at 4:15 & there was no wait. Reservations are recommended for evening dining. I would definitely come back!

Food and drinks were amazing. Food was very flavorful and well executed. Drinks were made very well and were delicious. Service was pretty good, despite them being busy. Very nice ambiance but didn't love being in the lower level. Upper level is more lively.

First time here. We had the Langos to start. It was nothing short of delicious! Fried dough, seasoned sour cream, feta cheese, garlic oil.... Wowwwww Next, Caesar Salad. Totally on point! First time having sun-dried tomatoes in my Caesar and ummm great addition! Next I had the Zip Smash Burger. That zip sauce and the pickles onions made the entire burger! So good. He had the Rigatoni and granted it was a small portion but he said it was great. We went here for my boyfriend's birthday which the waiter knew cause I said it to him. I kinda expected a candle in the tiramisu we ordered but nothing ‍ The table next to us mentioned that it was her birthday and when her tiramisu came out, she had a candle ‍ Either way the food was great! Oh I didn't mention they have a lower level that I wasn't aware of. Totally different vibe down there and would prefer upstairs seating next time.

Bell Bistro is a newer, smaller spot in Birmingham. The space is cozy and nicely put together, but it does feel a bit limited in size. It's a solid addition to the area, but nothing that really wowed me. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken -- it was fresh, and the chicken was cooked well, but overall pretty standard. I also had a side of fries. They were good, but nothing special -- just your usual fries without much to set them apart. Service was friendly and the experience was pleasant, but I'd say it's more of a casual lunch spot than a must-visit destination. I'd consider going back to try a different dish.

The restaurant vibes were really nice. We were seated at a booth next to the window where you can see into the back kitchen. Our server was super nice and brought out bread for us. We ordered a spicy margarita and the lychee guava martini. The margarita was way too spicy for me but my friend tolerated it. I loved the martini!! It was so good I actually ended up having 3 of them. We originally planned on entrees but ended up just ordering all kinds of apps and got full off of those. It was really satisfying and we had fun trying all the different things they had. I don't think there was anything we didn't like. We got oysters, beef carpaccio, whipped ricotta, and beef tips. Towards the end of our meal the DJ started setting up and the restaurant was rearranging the furniture to make room. We were told our booth was sold but were welcome to continue in another booth until anything changes. The atmosphere transitioned really smoothly and we enjoyed ourselves. It was fun mingling and dancing and ended up staying until close. I would definitely come here again!

My matcha latte was pretty mid -- not a coffee shop so I wouldn't necessarily expect anything incredible but it could have been hotter, at least. The frittata was very good and a generous portion -- I took part of it home for later. The pistachio pesto sauce really adds to it. I'd return to try more of their brunch menu (or others) without complaint -- why not!?

I do want to start with some thoughts before I give the highlights. We were charged a percent for using a credit card. I cannot speak to the in-person menu, but I combed the online menu and it did not mention that. We were also charged for ranch. Most places do not do that, and we were not informed there would be an upcharge. Most places allow you a sauce to go with fries. Also, for my meal, there is an image of an extra sauce which it did not come with, but we were charged for two small portions of ranch. Last, the server was just okay. I always enthusiastically ask questions to get to know more about a place. I asked if they had any other fruity drinks. She pointed to the drink menu and indicated just the Paloma. I said, but you have a full bar, this is the only fruity drink you make? She did not want to ask the bar, but I asked her to. The bar apparently only came up with one other drink idea, which I ended up getting two drinks listed on the menu (both very good) but it seemed like work for her to go out of her way to inquire. I also bet they could have made many fruity drinks, like maybe a Mai Tai, or some equivalent. Oh well. On the other hand, the Paloma was actually very good. It was a quality Paloma and I do recommend. Their other drink was seasonal with lavender, also a very nice drink. Most of the other places, like Honcho, I have no problem with getting a variety of drinks or inquiring about them, and the bar tender here did a great job. I came here because I was targeted by an ad on Instagram. This place was not on my radar, but since they created a meal (Steak-frites) very similar to Le Relais in Paris and New York, etc... I wanted to try it. It came with bottomless parm fries. The fries were crispy, savory, and delightful. The steak was super well cooked and was like butter. You did not even need a knife, it cut with a fork. Since I love next day leftovers, the steak was still super delicious and tender the next day. It was still like butter and cut with a fork. I would absolutely come back for that and bring the rest of my family. We also tried the tri-tip sandwich. We were told the bread was made fresh. I thought it was very good and very tender. My husband would have liked an au jus or horseradish sauce. He would try the hamburger next, but I would love another steak-frites, like right now! We were sad the coffee and pastry section closed early. In the past, at Honcho, we would get coffee and pastry after dinner since their coffee tends to be really good and quality. I would consider coming for brunch to try some. We talked to a gentleman who was part of the business as he was working hard. He was very kind and knowledgeable and took the time to hear our thoughts. I told him I was here for the steak. He thought I had a "but". I did not, it was great and I hope they can maintain that price point and the second serving of fries, because that was my main reason for visiting. He let us know the menu recently changed. I am not able to compare since this was my first time, but I liked that they had a steak dinner and pizza. If we come back my oldest loves this group's pizza, she gets it at Vinsetta, and this one looked very good.
