I thought this was a great place to go for a nice dinner. It had a unique vibe being where it is in West Bloomfield; they've redesigned the place to look lowkey and elegant. When I went, I think it might've been a Monday evening, so it was pretty quiet and the service was almost frighteningly quick. Our meals were delicious. I had the branzino fish and I loved it so much. I wanted to finish it there, but I made myself listen to my stomach and enjoyed it as leftovers the next day instead. My server was very kind and willing to answer my egregious questions because I was having trouble deciding what I wanted. I'm excited to try eating here for lunch! Oh and the bathroom was pretty and pink read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend so we decided to go for brunch. I think their brunch menu is relatively new and in my opinion, still needs some improvements. I ordered the short rib skillet and I was quite disappointed. There was mostly fat instead of short rib meat; the potatoes were not seasoned well and were undercooked. My friend ordered the French toast and had to send it back because the inside was undercooked and gooey. Our server was very helpful and took immediate action. She resubmitted our orders and both dishes were brought out without waiting too long. Even though my skillet was re-cooked it still was not flavorful or anything to remember. I definitely would not order that again. I love the ambiance and how it is decorated. It was a cute spot for our girls brunch. Large dining area and also they have a small private room for an intimate dinner party. I think I might check out their dinner menu and see what that is like because my friend stated that she only went to their dinner and it was really good. read more

I was very excited and pumped up to try this place but my experience was a total letdown. They had a $26 lobster with freshly made pasta on their lunch menu. Can't beat that! They took it off the menu recently and when I asked if they could make it for me they said it'd be another $18 for a lobster tail. The host then says they can't make it as the lobster meat was shucked for the rolls. What a stupid decision on management's part taking it off the menu. I saw customers posting rave reviews online. I just walked out on the spot and went to a Mexican restaurant. read more

Went to vive tonight for the first time with my wife and newborn baby. The staff was friendly and welcomed us immediately upon entry. We were sat quickly and the brought out the highchair at the same time. We started with the crab cakes and French onion soup! The soup was perfectly prepared and very delicious 8.9/10. The crab cakes on the other hand were boring had little flavor very disappointed 4.0/10. Then we had the wagyu burger with fries and a side of baked Mac and cheese. The burger was excellent I would recommend to anyone 8.7/10. The Mac was delicious as well 7.5/10. We did bread service as well for my Son, it came with a pesto butter light and fluffy ($9) seemed a bit excessive to charge that much for bread. Decor was very interesting, they had trees growing out of their center booths I loved it! 4/5 fells very fair taking into account food quality, value, decor and service. We will be back, next time to try desserts! read more

Tell me you don't want me to patronize your restaurant without saying it. We were a party of 8. So the tip was automatic. And clearly the server knew that. So we were basically ignored. We wer offered still or sparkling water. We said still and assumed it was tap...not $24 bottle of water. And the food was mid at best. I won't be back. read more

Vive Restaurant - $18 for a shot of vodka! And an additional $4 for a mediocre martini. I will choose to spend my money elsewhere. - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - West Bloomfield, Michigan

Very pricey for mediocre food and service. Was great when they had an inexpensive chicken Greek back in the day but they are not pulling this expensive place off. I won't be back. read more

Went for happy hour which had great specials. The service was attentive and pleasant. Food was just ok. I had the oysters and they were so small and lacked flavor. (I got them chargrilled and paid extra for it) I will go back and try more dishes but not immediately impressed with food but the service and atmosphere will bring me back to keep trying. read more

Celebrated a friend's birthday at Vive in Bloomfield and had a lovely experience. Since it recently opened when we went, it wasn't very busy, but the interior was beautiful and very spacious. Service was attentive and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the starters, the caviar fries, and the spicy pasta--everything was flavorful and well done. Such a great spot for a relaxed celebration. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Disappointing on every front. I ordered the steak frites, as did two others at my table. All three were requested medium. What arrived told a different story: the doneness varied significantly across the plates, suggesting a kitchen with inconsistent execution and little quality control before food leaves the pass. Beyond the temperature issues, the steaks were under-seasoned and presented with little care... not what you expect at this price point or for this type of occasion. The service compounded the frustration. Our group was large, and it was clear the staff were not adequately prepared or staffed to handle that. Mistakes accumulated throughout the evening... mis placed orders, missed requests, a general lack of coordination had our plates dancing all night. What was most disheartening was the manager's response or lack thereof. When the issues were raised, there was no meaningful acknowledgment, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. For a restaurant that presumably caters to celebratory dining, that kind of dismissal leaves a lasting impression. **Bottom line:** If you're planning a special occasion, I'd strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Vive Bloomfield did not rise to the moment, and a night that deserved better was diminished by an experience that fell short at nearly every level. read more

What a beautiful restaurant! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed my time visiting vive. Things I loved: One- free parking and the staff is very friendly. I did not see a valet option, just fyi. The decor on the outside and interior of the restaurant is very classy and beautiful. There was some music playing in the background and it is a little dim, inside. The ambiance is elegant with some fake trees inside and the tables are spread apart a bit which I liked. We got the calamari to start, Delicious sauce but no red sauce with it, it was more of a lemony garlic sauce which was tasty. I highly recommend the sourdough bread with the maple dip and the tomato basil dip, it was excellent. They had a very cool spooky cocktails menu which was full of creative and tasty sounding options, I got the lychee witchy drink which was great. I also got the lychee sparkling drink off the regular menu after and while the drinks were good I don't think there was much alcohol in them? So beware of that. I got a Caesar salad which was a great size portion wise, I split it with two of my friends as an appetizer. It wasn't the tastiest salad I've had but good portion for the price. For the main entree I got the spicy vodka chicken parmigiana. It came with two pieces of chicken (good portion) which were tasty but for some reason the pasta was colder whereas the chicken was hot? Kinda odd. I also wish the portion of pasta was bigger as it was tasty and wish it could be ordered as a main entree with chicken added even. So for the entree the chicken was great, but the pasta should've been warmer and also just wasn't as spicy and creamy as I would've wanted. For dessert we got the carrot cake which was delicious. All in all I would, I come back here as the menu is creative and diverse/ has unique flavors and the food is definitely delicious and the ambiance is gorgeous. read more

What an incredible dining experience from start to finish. This restaurant truly delivers on every level--service, ambiance, and absolutely amazing food. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the tone. It was warm, inviting, and effortlessly classy. There was live music--a gentleman singing Frank Sinatra--and it created such a beautiful, nostalgic vibe. It felt elegant yet relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you can enjoy great conversation and still soak in the energy around you. The service was exceptional--attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. We started with appetizers, which were flavorful and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we ordered the fish dishes, and they were outstanding--fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every bite was delicious. And although we didn't order the burger this time, it looked so good when it passed by our table that we've already decided that's what we're trying on our next visit. This place is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Great food, excellent service, and live music that creates a true vibe. We'll definitely be back. read more

Awesome food and service every time. Best place for a quiet dinner with friends or a quick bite of lunch.

Food was horrid. I ordered crab cakes & they taste like mush salmon croquettes with a bunch of crunchy onions & peppers. There was no taste of fresh crab meat & the texture was so mushy I'm still appalled. It's been 12 hours & all I've been saying is last night that food was disgusting. The server also was awful. He asked me if I didn't care for my food when he noticed I'd only took two bites of my crab cake & my boyfriend had only ate one of his lamb chops. When I told him how bad the crab cakes were he said "well the kitchens closed." My thing is then why did you inquire about whether I liked it or not? I will never go back I'll just proceed elsewhere. Prime 29 is a hop skip away & has way better food & service. Shut this place down. read more

We surprised my sister for her bday and decided to try Vive. I haven't been here since it was L George's and the remodel is beautiful. They have a private room that seats 24. The room was very pretty as well. First.... Service.... Phenomenal! They were very attentive, quick, and accommodating. Well done to both of our servers. I wish I got your names to call you both out. Second... drinks....excellent! I had the strawberry spritz with vodka. Finally... food... perfection! Every one of us loved our food and drinks! Vive Restaurant - I love that they personalize the menu for an event! - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - West Bloomfield, Michigan

The drinks were extremely watered down. I ordered My Sweet Espresso and it lacked flavor and substance. For it to have Toyota, Courvoisier and luxardo espresso + espresso simple, there was little flavor . My daughter had the Figgy Bourbon and it came with a cup of ice like it was an Italian icy! She had to ask them strain that immediately and add a solid cube. Another fail with no flavor, super watery. The vibe in the restaurant is cool, ambiance great, but those drinks...lacking. Maybe get new bartender. I've been here twice before and the food was delish and drinks were good...guess we got a bad unseasoned bartender... read more

My wife and I returned tonight with my mother-in-law who has been wanting to try this relatively new restaurant. My wife had called a few days ago because the menu on the website no longer had the short rib bolognese on the menu she enjoyed so much on our first visit. She was told that they change the menu periodically but that others had also let them know they were disappointed at its removal and that it would likely come back at some point. When our server came to the table to tell us about tonight's specials, the first special was.....short rib bolognese which put a big smile on my wife's face. Needless to say, that is what she ordered for her entree as did I. My MIL ordered the lemon chicken on the recommendation of our server telling her it has been one of their most popular dishes lately. My wife and I ordered a caesar to share (the salads are more than large enough to share) and my MIL ordered a Vive salad. We also ordered bread service. That was one of my "gripes" in my original review, that is, restaurants no longer serving bread with the meal or charging for it. Let me say this. I will never NOT order the bread service here when we go again. Outstanding loaf of sour dough bread right out of the oven. The salads were very good. Bolognese was as good as the first time..different pasta but all their pasta is made there and excellent. I also complained about empty water glasses in my original review. That has been fixed as they now provide a carafe of water on your table and our server stopped by frequently to fill our glasses and to bring a fresh carafe when it was low. It's nice to see a restaurant listen to feedback to make changes where needed. Oh, my MIL also ordered the biscotti cheesecake for dessert which we had to sample of course. One of the best cheesecakes we have had we all agreed...much better than Cheesecake Factory though a bit steep at $15. But, a worthwhile indulgence even with the price and the calories. I would say Vive has made a lot of progress since they opened up and will definitely return again. And again. read more

There was techno music playing which made it hard to have a conversation. I got the Caesar salad as an appetizer and it was very good. Main dish was steak frites with French fries. The sauce for the steak was served on the side & tasted funny but the steak didn't need it bc it was nicely seasoned. I felt like the meal was overpriced. Service was fine. Would rate at 3.5 stars. read more

Went to Vive for the first time last night. Beautiful restaurant atmosphere. The service was awful. We had a party of 4 for dinner. We simply ordered 1 appetizers and 4 entrees. Our waitress was very inattentive. As soon as our meals arrive Our waitress asked if everything was good with out anyone even taking a bite . My dish the chicken limone look beautiful but the chicken was so dry. It took 10 min to get her attention, I apologize, telling her it was not good because it was dry. She did apologize or anything, she just picked it up and said what else would you like . I order the waygu burger medium. She turned and just walk away. Didn't see her again until everyone had finished their dinner (30 min) and she brought me my burger that was well done. Once again she said nothing about the delay ,she just put the burger down and said how does that look. Food is not only about how it looks it's how it tastes. I'm not even getting into the wrong meal they brought to our friends. At the end she gave the wrong checks to each couple . After we paid she once again gave the checks to the wrong couples. Never once did she ever come to our table to check on anything, we had to wave her down every time. I hate to do that and hate when people do that. I will not being going back very disappointed. Wish it was better read more

Ambience was beautiful very relaxing tones with wood accents. We started with lamb bites and beef tartare. Both were beautifully presented and came out in a timely manner. We shared two pastas and a burger. All of which were quite tasty especially the ravioli. I found the entree menu a bit routine, with no creative unique or creative dishes. The shared Caesar salad was ample but the dressing had no flavor to be honest we had a discussion if was even dressed. Service was pleasant and efficient but basic service was ignored. I'm speaking of reaching over guest and ensuring flatware was replaced between courses. I saw I breadboard go out and was glad I didn't invest the 9.00 menu price. I'm not sure I would return but mostly due to the lack of menu creativity I can get decent steak and pasta at 50 other restaurants. read more

To celebrate my birthday and a colleague's birthday, we decided to dine at Vive Restaurant. It ended up being the worst service we've ever experienced. First, they only allow happy hour at the bar -- fine. But when one of our Senior Vice Presidents arrived and went to the bar to order a drink, she was completely ignored. She literally had to follow the bar manager just to get any attention, and even then the service was terrible. At that point, we got up and left. We went to J. Alexander's instead, where the service was excellent, as always. I strongly recommend not patronizing Vive Restaurant. read more

Excellent service, great drinks, food was delicious and came in a timely manner. Nice ambiance.

Dined here with a couple friends and it was a wonderful experience! All of the food was very good. Some highlights are the calamari and King Salmon. The oysters were extremely fresh, but extremely small. I actually prefer small oysters, but these were so small that it was difficult to tell if the shell was empty or not. The steak tartare is phenomenal, however I wish they served it in a traditional style where the tartare could shine, instead of on layered potatoes- which I personally feel takes away from the star; the tartare! If you go, I highly recommend ordering an actual cocktail instead of a mixed drink since from what I experienced the bartenders are talented! read more
