There is a downstairs area (with bar), upstairs area and outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer. We completely lucked out and got the private room upstairs even though we didn't book it specifically. I loved the location being in the historic district, and they did an amazing job with restoring the mill into a cute restaurant. I had scoped everything out ahead of time so had adjusted my expectations for smaller portions and ordered accordingly. Unfortunately they don't have their cocktail menu online and I can't recall the name of what I ordered but it was very good. Everyone in our party was happy with their drinks. For food, we started with the monkey bread (10/10) - outstanding! The Caesar salad was also tasty. I got the mussels, which had really nice flavor and the sausage was a welcome addition - I just wish it had come with an extra toast or 2 for the broth. The smoked sturgeon was interesting - marinated and smoked for hours - you don't find that many places so I had to try, and really enjoyed it but wow the cornbread almost stole the show in that dish. Nobody cared for the pickled vegetables. Burger was a winner and really big actually. Dessert we got an assortment and the fan favorite was the creme brulee. They came and cleared dishes between courses, kept water glasses full, etc. and service was overall pretty top notch. Bill was pricey but it was a special occasion and I would definitely return for another.

We got lucky that they were able to seat us after a short wait. We were planning on taking seats at the bar (first come). If you want a table, you may want to make reservations. The restaurant is a house, lovely without being pretentious. With low lighting and low nose level, it would be perfect for a date. It has a New England feel, which makes sense as an oyster house, though they offer oysters from both coasts. The service was fantastic, particularly from our server Christina. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and had great timing, not an easy combination. My friend and I split the oyster roll and the fish special. The roll is a small plate, and it is very much appetizer sized, not meal. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I will note that they are pricy, I thought the cocktail prices were high for outside of the city. But otherwise a wonderful experience.

The bar atmosphere is great and I look forward to summer when they can open up the doors and we can spread out a little bit more. The bar isn't huge inside so it can crowd at busy times, but the staff hustles and are all super friendly. It's a favorite for almost everyone in our neighborhood!

The parking situation is a little weird, the lot is basically to the left of the restaurant, and if you try to park in the plaza to the right of it, there are signs up saying they will tow you. My friend and I started out with the baked feta, which was delicious. I don't really like olives so I asked for those on the side. It came with tomatoes on top and naan bread for dipping. For our entrees, I got the chicken limone - chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes and this is very similar. It's $29 which I thought was a bit expensive but you do get a gigantic portion, I brought half of it home. My friend got what she thought was a salad but it was more of like a Mediterranean small chicken dish, and she got a side of the beef tallow fries, which we both thought were expensive at $7, but it was very tasty and she said it was worth it. Everything on the dessert menu looked great but we ended up splitting the campfire funnel fries, and it came out in the shape of a campfire! Very nice presentation. Waitservice was a bit slow, we had a separate person coming to refill our water and overall that was consistent until the end though. That being said, the food and the atmosphere was great so I would return another time.

We were sat quickly and the brought out the highchair at the same time. We started with the crab cakes and French onion soup! The soup was perfectly prepared and very delicious 8.9/10. The crab cakes on the other hand were boring had little flavor very disappointed 4.0/10. Then we had the wagyu burger with fries and a side of baked Mac and cheese. The burger was excellent I would recommend to anyone 8.7/10. The Mac was delicious as well 7.5/10. We did bread service as well for my Son, it came with a pesto butter light and fluffy ($9) seemed a bit excessive to charge that much for bread. Decor was very interesting, they had trees growing out of their center booths I loved it! 4/5 fells very fair taking into account food quality, value, decor and service. Disappointing on every front…read more I ordered the steak frites, as did two others at my table. All three were requested medium. What arrived told a different story: the doneness varied significantly across the plates, suggesting a kitchen with inconsistent execution and little quality control before food leaves the pass. Beyond the temperature issues, the steaks were under-seasoned and presented with little care... not what you expect at this price point or for this type of occasion. The service compounded the frustration. Our group was large, and it was clear the staff were not adequately prepared or staffed to handle that. Mistakes accumulated throughout the evening... mis placed orders, missed requests, a general lack of coordination had our plates dancing all night. What was most disheartening was the manager's response or lack thereof. When the issues were raised, there was no meaningful acknowledgment, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. For a restaurant that presumably caters to celebratory dining, that kind of dismissal leaves a lasting impression. **Bottom line:** If you're planning a special occasion, I'd strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Vive Bloomfield did not rise to the moment, and a night that deserved better was diminished by an experience that fell short at nearly every level.

The music was actually so loud it was hard to catch up with my friend. I wasn't aware of how cozy the spot was. We weren't allowed to sit next to each other (understandably so, the seats are designed for two/four people to sit across from each other like normal) so that made it easiest to just quiet up and listen to the music. I have no problem with that, the singer was great! The waitress was kind for even checking with the manager to see if we could adjust the seating arrangement. I had to ask lol I had the fried salmon bites, very salty but good flavor. Oh, and one of the two bathroom stalls wouldn't close but luckily girl code helped us stay secure! This spot is a hidden gem especially for those who appreciate a very intimate live music performance, when they have it. I'd like to try more of the food.

I will say that it was a rather small portion of food though- maybe 6-8 bites of meat. The lamb lollipops were good with the balsamic drizzle but I preferred the filet tips since they were leaner.
