    Zucchini Noodles with Meatballs
    Kai L.

Found this place just walking past. It has a dim lighting, cozy ambience, and friendly staff from the moment we walked in. The food was good overall. I had the zucchini noodles with meatballs, and the meatballs were definitely the highlight; it was tender, flavorful, and delicious. The zucchini noodles could've used a bit more seasoning, though. We also tried the herb-crested chicken with Alfredo Fettuccine. It had a rich, creamy flavor, maybe a little too rich for my taste, but still enjoyable. The wine was nice, though I wish it came in a thinner glass, the thick glass made it a little hard to appreciate. Our server did mix up my order at first but corrected it quickly. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if he'd let us keep the mistake since it was his error, but the food came out hot and fast, which I appreciated. Overall, this is a charming place, and I'd come back to try more dishes.

    Steak Bites

Our waitress was very sweet. We started our meal with the steak bites as our appetizer. The flavor and quality were great, just a tiny bit salty. I would recommend it, though! The rigatoni brisket bolognese "Sunday Gravy" was wonderful - the meat was very tender. The margherita pizza was nothing special. I recommend you stick with the pasta or entree dishes; you can get better pizza elsewhere. The cocktails and wine were good as well. The live jazz was secluded in another room, and they had other music in the speakers at the same time, which kind of ruined the vibe. If you are planning to have dinner here, I recommend you go, but don't plan your meal around the live music, in my opinion.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The service was attentive and quick, we had a reservation during the dinner rush and were in and out within an hour. The food was outstanding! The Shrimp Florentine was easily our favorite dish and our main entrees were equally excellent. Drinks were great as well, I enjoyed my mule.

This is the place my parents got married. I remember being a kid scarfing down the garlic butter and meatballs, so good. Obviously I felt quite emotional walking in here last month with my girlfriend, which is her first time. She got a Fettuccine Alfredo, which was as creamy as I remembered. The margarita, although it doesn't blow me away, I keep eating. Never give up. I'm not a bias person, it wouldn't be fair for some random person going off of my 5/5 when I don't even like the food that much, just the sentimental energy of it all. So to be fair, I'll give it a 3.

Really nice Italian/all around food restaurant. It's attached to a nice little bar as well with live music and not too far away from one of the main parking garage. We try and find a new restaurant to go to as often as possible and for this trip we landed on D'Amato's. Online it seemed like a pretty classy place. As we were walking up it seemed like the type of dress-ware didn't really matter but it wasn't an issue to us, as we like to dress up a bit fancy to go somewhere we think is nice. We were seated and it took quite some time to be greeted. It was date night so we weren't too bothered by it at first. We put in a salad and soup order and for a bottle of wine. They had a pretty good selection of wine. Appetizers came out (sadly no bread & oil which seemed odd for a place like this) and they were very tasty! Exactly how I wanted the Italian Wedding Soup! Our entrees took close to an hour to come out which was a bit of a bummer. We had a bottle of wine but were really hungry when we arrived at around 7pm. Luckily we had no plans after but the restaurant wasn't very full so we were surprised by how long it took to get our food. Overall a really good place! Would definitely come back!

Nice and simple Italian spot in Downtown RO. Cool vibe and staff if you are looking for a quick spot to grab some food food. Great location as it plenty of other restaurants, bars, etc. in the area. I had the Calamari, Bruschetta, and Shrimp Scampi Ravioli and they were all pretty good.

When my friend invited me to try a new brunch spot. I was excited to try it. This tuck off Italian restaurant by night but brunch on Saturday and Sunday was right up my alley. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon we were warmly greeted and quickly seated. Inside was plenty of tables and a nice bar area. I ordered the buffalo chicken and waffles egg Benedict. The chicken was so juicy. The combination in my head was not supposed to mix but it tasted so good together. I truly enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

Co-located with Goodnight Gracies via a large opening in the wall, there is also a small bar of their own. Across the street is a city pay lot, and a large pay garage nearby. Located next to the train and bus station. Great staff, really good food, good service. It was a little loud. A little pricey but the food was really good.

Came here for a birthday dinner and overall was a solid spot. Giving a 3/5 because I have just had better Italian food and most of the dishes didn't quite stand out. The shrimp florentine was our favorite and the raviolis were nice. The pizza was underwhelming. Inside has a nice intimate ambiance. Our waitress had given the birthday girl donuts as a dessert but we were then charged for them on the bill, but she was able to correct that. Overall a solid spot with fair prices if you are in the area, but I don't think I will go out of my way to dine here.

Good bruschetta & friendly service. Nice atmosphere for date night. It's connected to goodnight Gracie. We'll be back for sure.

Tiramisu. Lovely presentation but taste was just okay.

Time to update this review! I hadn't been here in about 10 years but I came here today with friends for Royal Oak Restaurant Week. This review is probably like a 3.5 out of five but I'll round up to four. I had scoped out the menu ahead of time, originally I was going to get the Italian wedding soup, goat cheese ravioli, and the tiramisu, off the RORW menu. I ultimately ended up going with chicken piccata, as I have had ravioli a lot this week. The Italian wedding soup was kind of dark, darker than I was expecting in color, but it was very good. The chicken parmesan came with a huge portion, and it was probably the best part of the meal; The chicken and the cheese were great, the spaghetti was kind of generic but also good. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, and unfortunately I thought it was just okay, even though the presentation was great. They also tacked on a 90-cent credit card fee at the end, which I think is kind of tacky. I would prefer they just roll that into their regular prices. Waitservice was inconsistent, we got water refills fairly quickly because someone else was doing them, and our waitress was friendly, but sometimes we had to wait a long time for her to come back to the table. Overall I would still recommend this place, as the atmosphere is nice and the food was overall decent.

This place has very cute vibes. The service was quick, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food is also really good - the chicken Marsala is something I would definitely recommend for the mushroom sauce alone. The quantity of food is also good - not overwhelming but definitely enough to also take some home for tomorrow. I would come again and try their brunch, because I heard it's pretty good, but their dinner was delicious as well!

This is a must visit for lovers of Italian cuisine. The food is presented in a cozy, yet romantic setting. The staff here is very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The recommendations made to me allowed me to satisfy my tastes for all I wanted to experience while dining there. Their presentation and portions were satisfying as well as esthetically pleasing.

It was a lovely experience and the food was for the most part very delicious. Service was friendly and good but a tad on the slow side (not our server's fault, they seemed pretty busy and I think she may have been the only waitress working, so she was absolutely juggling a ton). They were out of the "pretty potatoes" which was disappointing because they sounded super delicious. The restaurant is a little dark and when very busy can get a little loud. The three women at the table next to us were having a very loud conversation (of which I picked up every word) and I could barely hear my fiancé, which I didn't love, so the acoustics are a bit odd. That being said, the decor and vibe is very home-y and everyone that works there was very pleasant and lovely, from the hostess to the man that refilled our waters. We got the charcuterie plate (selected two cheeses and two meats; comes accompanied by fig jam, mustard, sardinian crackers, and cornichons), the caesar salad, the short rib, the arctic char, and the olive oil cake for dessert. All of the food was really exceptional and delicious except I found the short rib to be a tad dry. We each ordered a cocktail, I got a spritzer and my fiancé got a seasonal Pimm's cup-type cocktail that used house-made cranberry syrup. They can accommodate gluten free diets easily which is also a plus. Overall, we will absolutely be coming back!I want to try that Wagyu Pastrami Reuben!

We went for trivia and expected it to be the same as always, unfortunately it was not. They erased our points we've earned for a free glass, these are no longer honored. The menu has significantly changed: flights are $2-$3 more, no longer include flight bites, an upcharge for premium pours (which is understandable), no longer has a $5 bottle credit, and each glass is now $3-$5 more per pour. Why did you have to make every last item on the menu more expensive? I understand that the economy and inflation contribute to these things, but to increase the price and get less on everything throughout the menu plus not honor points earned for a free glass is a slap in the face. I'm just crushed at the blatant disrespect for the regulars that come every week for trivia or other events, no warning. Our trivia night just got a whole lot more expensive and we will be looking at other locations with more reasonably priced beverages and snacks. I hope they still allow us to bring in our own food, they did this week but who knows if that will also change. The staff seemed stressed telling us the new rules as well.

I also had lobster dumplings, which was good but the dish wasn't cooked through. The filling wasn't hot and the pasta was very under on some bites.
