This place astonishes & pleases us every single time we go--it really is a top notch restaurant. Friendly staff, great cocktails, very delicious food. They had several spritz cocktails available, and they are so good & refreshing in hot weather! Mine was great. We shared the arancini, which was quite large & very good--the red sauce it was on was a little spicy & really suited the arancini. Loved it! I had Ravioli stuffed with shrimp & scallop with clam & white wine sauce , which I'd had several weeks prior, & really hoped was still on the menu, as they do seasonally change it up. It was so delicious! I ate & savored EVERY bite. My husband had the short rib ragu, Paccheri, they generally have some variation on this dish & he just loves it. The meat was fall apart tender & the sauce was a little spicier than it is sometimes, but he loves it that way. Came here for a girls night and we had a wonderful time! From the first steps in the interior feels cozy and intimate, yet still modern upscale. We had a kind server who guided us through the menu and kept us from over-ordering, and we ended up sharing some appetizers, salad, fries, and a pasta. Everything was so delicious! Beppe was highly recommended to me during my stay in Royal Oak. The restaurant was extremely accommodating for my large, party of 10 reservation. The waitress was extremely patient with our large group and many requests. Especially when it came to ordering drinks. The pasta selections were amazing, with the risotto being the star of the show for me! The gnocchi melted in your melt. The beat salad and tuna crudo were the freshest starters. For our large party, the price of the meal was pretty reasonable, especially considering all of our drinks. Yum yum yum! Came here for a friend's bday and left with a new favorite place! The burrata and prosciutto were creamy and salty and paired so perfectly with their homemade sourdough. I have not dined in Royal Oak in years, but I did not anticipate the changes to an area I used to know, like the back of my hand. Beppé is one of the newer additions. At lunch, the restaurant was nearly empty, which, frankly, was great for enjoying a meal leisurely. Beppé has been on my list since it first opened. But with the reduced lanes on 696 and a general focus on at-home dining, my friends and I just had not made it here. The restaurant has a few distinct areas: a bar, a dining room, and a large patio. I liked the room's spare aesthetics. It felt very comfortable. The menu was equally spare. For lunch, there were a few starters, sourdough bread, fries, and cucumber and arugula salads. Other items on the menu include chicken sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, and a few pasta dishes. Since I had been having pasta all week, I went with the fish and chips and congratulated myself on a great choice. The fish was coated in a nice, crispy batter (not the dreaded breadcrumbs) and served with a homemade tartar sauce. However, the fries were the main attraction. They were crispy and tender, paired with a curry-flavored mayo. OMG, they were fantastic. I savored every crunch, eating very slowly to luxuriate in every bite. Ketchup, mayo, or tartar sauce - the fries tasted so good, no matter the condiment. A restaurant that takes the time to make these fries AND sauces deserves consideration because it speaks to a quality ethos in the kitchen. Service was very friendly. Small but cozy restaurant with a charming outdoor patio. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience. I was really looking forward to trying their gluten-free vodka rigatoni that I saw on Yelp, but it seems the menu has changed and it's no longer available. The closest option was the casarecce, which, while appreciated, needed a lot more seasoning to bring the flavors to life. The tagliatelle was also a bit under-seasoned and could have used some chili oil or spice to enhance it. Overall, it's a cute spot for a date night or a casual dinner out. I'll definitely give it another try and explore other menu items. It might just be that I didn't pick the best options this time. Today was homecoming day with my girlfriend and I was on the hunt to take her to a very nice and expensive place, and I really thought I found the one. It was either that or Bella Limone, and after what they did to Pinkies I don't have the heart to go... At least not yet. But let's focus on Beppe. Spectacular interior, super kind staff and we actually happen to be the first people there upon opening on Saturday. We walked in 10 minutes before they were serving food, and both the hostess and our waiter reminded us very warmly. I absolutely love the vibe, the menu screamed "overpriced garbage" but I was still curious. I ordered a Shirley Temple, it was 10 dollars. Actually, it might've been 8 dollars. I took a picture of the receipt so I could show you the prices. I will admit though, that was easily one of the best Shirley Temples I ever had, especially for something that's traditionally just Grenadine and Sprite. By the taste, I'm confident they simmer their Grenadine in cherries for an extra pop. Very clever. Ravioli came out and I must say, although the pasta itself is quite authentic and delicate, the marinara truly ruins the entire experience. I felt quite ill when eating it. Yeah, it's that kind of pasta. We got another entree, however I forgot the name of it; I believe it was a confusing Italian word. Similar to my last dish, the pasta itself is very nice, the noodle is incredible and freshly chopped and grated with LOVE. But the texture and rawness of the ingredients isn't quite appetizing, I would rather get something simple. Let's move on to the greatest part of the entire night. The Tiramisu was 16 dollars, easily the most expensive Tiramisu I've ever had. Not saying it's supposed to be cheap, but good lord it better be worth two full orders of Mickey D's To-GO! Biting into the Tiramisu is like gnawing your teeth into genuine greatness. I absolutely adore the taste, and the texture is so satisfying. I save the in-jokes for outside of Yelp, but I'm just gonna say it; It was quite literally a taste-gasm. The dreamy creamy flavor compliments its GORGEOUS technique with the eggy, delicious white whip that is just LEAKING out from the side of the darn thing. What a fabulous dish, and probably one of the only things I could say is definitely worth the money. A desert to remember. Although two of the most expensive entrees I've ordered in a lifetime not only set back a lot of the expectations I had, but set back my bank account. I knew what I was getting myself into, so I'll leave my complaining to rest for the next time I'm craving overpriced Italian food. The good out-ways the bad in my opinion, especially with how everything turned out. Me and my girlfriend made the best out of everything we could, it started to rain so we got under the only table that didn't pour onto us. It was such a scene scented with fresh fallen water, I can just imagine the feeling in my head. Even though it had its setbacks, Beppe reminds me of the true reason I am so passionate about my genetically rooted cuisine; the greatness of gathering family and appreciating each others company, regardless of how the food may taste, is a feeling that's priceless in it of itself. Have wanted to visit this spot since they opened. Came early on a Saturday without reservations. There are three seating options: bar, indoor, and outdoor. We wanted to sit at the bar which was full. Didn't take long for it to turn over. Grabbed two bar seats which were in the center of everything. Very lighted, busy, and loud. Our server and bartender, Bianca, was pleasant but very busy. Never got water refills but realize she was making drinks for the whole restaurant. Usually sitting at the bar gives you the best service, but not always the case. Drinks were okay. Ordered the hana town and golden era. Both a little sweet and unbalanced. One too booze forward and the other too mixer forward. Highly disappointed that there is no vegan main pasta dish. The executive chef suggested their gluten free pasta with red sauce. After perusing the menu, I would suggest a delish dish with maitake, lentils, peas and homemade pasta. There is a seared cauliflower and gigantic bean salad (minus parm) that are veganish. Ordered both. Portions are small, but they were edible. Still super surprised the chef wouldn't offer or create a better main with ingredients already on the menu. It's pasta and veggies served at a premium. Easy, but not here. Meat eaters will delight in all the animal dishes on the menu, but this isn't a repeat place for me. Get reservations if you're coming. It's small and busy. The food was hit and miss, odd twist on the classic Caesar salad with runny eggs and tomatoes made it almost uneatable due to the saltiness either cheese or dressing we couldnt figure it out. Tartar that my friend had looked and tasted great. My friends halibut was nicely cooked, the burger seemed dry. I had braised beets and feta app, I liked it. The service was a bit odd, after my friend returned the salad due to saltiness the server did not ask if she can get her anything else just stared and left. A nice place to check out in Royal Oak - it's not big inside but does have a good size covered outside seating area. Menu is not big but what we tried, for the most part was good. Feta with beets was good and came with a side of baguette. Good size to share. Same goes for cauliflower appetizer. Halibut dinner was just right though portion is on the smaller side. So if you are hungry - add an appetizer with it. One dish nobody in my party liked was beppe's version of a Caesar salad. It was too salty, had boiled eggs in it and another unidentified vegetable I think I "fancy" olive that was also very salty. The chocolate cake though made up for it! Super pleased with my dining experience here! My friends and I came for lunch on a weekend and we were the only ones here. I don't think many people know they are open for lunch because it is only a weekend thing. During the week they are only open during dinner service. The vibe of this place is so cute and i imagine their patio is super nice to sit on during the summer time. Our waiter was great and the perfect amount of attentiveness. The Caesar salad was awesome. Literally so good and a great portion size. I loved the soft boiled eggs and huge capers in it. Definitely one of the better Caesar salads I've had in my life. We were a little late to our reservation but the restaurant was very understanding of our circumstances. We got to sit outside and although we didn't need it, they did have some heat lamps if it got too cold. The service was quick and excellent, I thought they were efficient and checked in with us multiple times. The food was delicious! Overall, I feel that Thai food tasted better and is more cost friendly than any of the other Italian restaurants I've been to including She Wolf. Came here on a snow day at 7pm and good thing we did because we got seated promptly. It did fill up quickly tho. We were greeted warmly and got a booth. Waitress was very friendly and very attentive. We got 3 appetizers: The braised beets with feta was hands down the star. Do not skip this one! Best word to describe it is 'refreshing.' Even the crackers that it came with was so good. Not so crispy so that it cracks when you bite it hurting your hard palate; it was actually ever so slightly soft that it was pleasant in the mouth. They kindly gave us extra crackers when we ran out. The Caesar salad is good, thoughtful. It was drowned in Comte cheese. It gave a salty taste that overpowered the dish a little. I enjoyed the little gems though. But I love me a caesar salad and even though it may sound basic to order at a restaurant like this, I like to try everyone's take on an American classic. The short rib croquettes were good too. Very moist inside. Paired well with the chili aioli and au jus sauce. For entree we got scallops and wagyu. The scallops were delicious and very good size. My friends and I met here for lunch on a Saturday, and it was great! We were able to walk in and be seated right away. The atmosphere was nice, and the server was very attentive. For my meal, I went with the Caesar salad and a side of the fries with aioli. The Caesar wasn't traditional, but it was delicious nonetheless! My friend with a dairy allergy was able to comfortably eat here, which is always a plus. The restaurant was able to accommodate her allergy; however, an item on the menu that was marked as DF actually had a bun with dairy in it. Thankfully my friend asked about the item was able to avoid the bun/dairy, but just as a note to others with allergies, make sure to ask regardless! The whipped feta with beets was smooth and delicious. I got the scallops and risotto. The risotto Nero was interesting. I don't know if they added cheese but there was almost a smaller gelatin consistency. Scallops were nicely seared. Other main was the tagliatelle with lamb ragú. I highly recommend the steak tartare, whipped feta beet dip, lamb belly and wagyu ribeye. Oh yeah and the tiramisu dessert was amazing. Not sure if that's available all the time. Showed up around 745 and asked for a table of 4, only had to wait 10-15 mins for a table which is rare in royal oak! It was a warm night so they had the patio open (which is decorated very cute with twinkle lights and has heaters) so I'm not sure how they operate during the winter. The host was very kind and welcoming. They have a rotating menu but it would be nice if their website was updated when the changes are made. I was eyeing the short rib before coming so was disappointed to see that it was rotated off of the menu when we got there. The cauliflower dish was probably the best roasted cauliflower that I've ever had. It came with this cashew sauce, dates, mint and lemon. The nuttiness and citrus was an unexpected but delicious pairing. I got the steak tips appetizer for my meal and it was a perfect amount for me. The steak was cooked well and I liked the savory sauce that it was in & it came with these fried mashed potato balls, something I've never had before. We finished with the deconstructed apple pie. There were some baked cinnamon apples at the bottom, topped with vanilla ice cream and a puff pastry. I liked the flavors but the ratio was off, it needed more of the apple filling. My friends got the white fish dip which was extremely salty. They also got the rigatoni which they loved but the sausage was a tad spicy. read more
