Beppe was highly recommended to me during my stay in Royal Oak. The restaurant was extremely accommodating for my large, party of 10 reservation. The waitress was extremely patient with our large group and many requests. Especially when it came to ordering drinks. The pasta selections were amazing, with the risotto being the star of the show for me! The gnocchi melted in your melt. The beat salad and tuna crudo were the freshest starters. For our large party, the price of the meal was pretty reasonable, especially considering all of our drinks. I would definitely recommend this cozy, local spot next time you're craving some Italian or just in town!
This place astonishes & pleases us every single time we go--it really is a top notch restaurant. Friendly staff, great cocktails, very delicious food. They had several spritz cocktails available, and they are so good & refreshing in hot weather! Mine was great. We shared the arancini, which was quite large & very good--the red sauce it was on was a little spicy & really suited the arancini. Loved it! I had Ravioli stuffed with shrimp & scallop with clam & white wine sauce , which I'd had several weeks prior, & really hoped was still on the menu, as they do seasonally change it up. It was so delicious! I ate & savored EVERY bite. My husband had the short rib ragu, Paccheri, they generally have some variation on this dish & he just loves it. The meat was fall apart tender & the sauce was a little spicier than it is sometimes, but he loves it that way. We also shared a desert that was wonderful--cream puff type pastry (choux) strawberries & cream. Beppe is a local favorite for us--always a stand out great meal & great service!
Came here for a girls night and we had a wonderful time! From the first steps in the interior feels cozy and intimate, yet still modern upscale. We had a kind server who guided us through the menu and kept us from over-ordering, and we ended up sharing some appetizers, salad, fries, and a pasta. Everything was so delicious! I ended up returning on Father's Day and enjoying the outdoor dining area. Everyone loved their meals this time as well! Beppe is definitely a local favorite.
Something different but not much. Cool atmosphere and good vibe. Waitress was nice and the food was ok according to the 3 people that was with me. The drinks were something different for sure. If you like high quality food this spot is for you! I believe it's mostly Italian.
I have not dined in Royal Oak in years, but I did not anticipate the changes to an area I used to know, like the back of my hand. Beppé is one of the newer additions. At lunch, the restaurant was nearly empty, which, frankly, was great for enjoying a meal leisurely. Beppé has been on my list since it first opened. But with the reduced lanes on 696 and a general focus on at-home dining, my friends and I just had not made it here. The restaurant has a few distinct areas: a bar, a dining room, and a large patio. I liked the room's spare aesthetics. It felt very comfortable. The menu was equally spare. For lunch, there were a few starters, sourdough bread, fries, and cucumber and arugula salads. Other items on the menu include chicken sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, and a few pasta dishes. Since I had been having pasta all week, I went with the fish and chips and congratulated myself on a great choice. The fish was coated in a nice, crispy batter (not the dreaded breadcrumbs) and served with a homemade tartar sauce. However, the fries were the main attraction. They were crispy and tender, paired with a curry-flavored mayo. OMG, they were fantastic. I savored every crunch, eating very slowly to luxuriate in every bite. Ketchup, mayo, or tartar sauce - the fries tasted so good, no matter the condiment. A restaurant that takes the time to make these fries AND sauces deserves consideration because it speaks to a quality ethos in the kitchen. Service was very friendly. There is a private lot, but it fills up quickly.
Small but cozy restaurant with a charming outdoor patio. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience. I was really looking forward to trying their gluten-free vodka rigatoni that I saw on Yelp, but it seems the menu has changed and it's no longer available. The closest option was the casarecce, which, while appreciated, needed a lot more seasoning to bring the flavors to life. The tagliatelle was also a bit under-seasoned and could have used some chili oil or spice to enhance it. Overall, it's a cute spot for a date night or a casual dinner out. I'll definitely give it another try and explore other menu items. It might just be that I didn't pick the best options this time. I also appreciate that they offer gluten-free pasta, as that's a huge plus for someone like me with a gluten intolerance. It's nice to have an option where I can still enjoy pasta again!
Today was homecoming day with my girlfriend and I was on the hunt to take her to a very nice and expensive place, and I really thought I found the one. It was either that or Bella Limone, and after what they did to Pinkies I don't have the heart to go... At least not yet. But let's focus on Beppe. Spectacular interior, super kind staff and we actually happen to be the first people there upon opening on Saturday. We walked in 10 minutes before they were serving food, and both the hostess and our waiter reminded us very warmly. I absolutely love the vibe, the menu screamed "overpriced garbage" but I was still curious. I ordered a Shirley Temple, it was 10 dollars. Actually, it might've been 8 dollars. I took a picture of the receipt so I could show you the prices. I will admit though, that was easily one of the best Shirley Temples I ever had, especially for something that's traditionally just Grenadine and Sprite. By the taste, I'm confident they simmer their Grenadine in cherries for an extra pop. Very clever. Ravioli came out and I must say, although the pasta itself is quite authentic and delicate, the marinara truly ruins the entire experience. I felt quite ill when eating it. Yeah, it's that kind of pasta. We got another entree, however I forgot the name of it; I believe it was a confusing Italian word. Similar to my last dish, the pasta itself is very nice, the noodle is incredible and freshly chopped and grated with LOVE. But the texture and rawness of the ingredients isn't quite appetizing, I would rather get something simple. Let's move on to the greatest part of the entire night. The Tiramisu was 16 dollars, easily the most expensive Tiramisu I've ever had. Not saying it's supposed to be cheap, but good lord it better be worth two full orders of Mickey D's To-GO! Biting into the Tiramisu is like gnawing your teeth into genuine greatness. I absolutely adore the taste, and the texture is so satisfying. I save the in-jokes for outside of Yelp, but I'm just gonna say it; It was quite literally a taste-gasm. The dreamy creamy flavor compliments its GORGEOUS technique with the eggy, delicious white whip that is just LEAKING out from the side of the darn thing. What a fabulous dish, and probably one of the only things I could say is definitely worth the money. A desert to remember. Although two of the most expensive entrees I've ordered in a lifetime not only set back a lot of the expectations I had, but set back my bank account. I knew what I was getting myself into, so I'll leave my complaining to rest for the next time I'm craving overpriced Italian food. The good out-ways the bad in my opinion, especially with how everything turned out. Me and my girlfriend made the best out of everything we could, it started to rain so we got under the only table that didn't pour onto us. It was such a scene scented with fresh fallen water, I can just imagine the feeling in my head. Even though it had its setbacks, Beppe reminds me of the true reason I am so passionate about my genetically rooted cuisine; the greatness of gathering family and appreciating each others company, regardless of how the food may taste, is a feeling that's priceless in it of itself. I liked Beppe, and I will never come back again. 3/5
Yum yum yum! Came here for a friend's bday and left with a new favorite place! The burrata and prosciutto were creamy and salty and paired so perfectly with their homemade sourdough. Couldn't decide between the burger and the bucatini so had to get both. And they did not disappoint. The bucatini was creamy and has the perfect mushroom umami flavor. Burger was perfectly cooked and a great staple. Service was a smidge slow and we waited nearly thirty min for drinks and dinner lasted almost two hours so be prepared to be there a bit
Have wanted to visit this spot since they opened. Came early on a Saturday without reservations. There are three seating options: bar, indoor, and outdoor. We wanted to sit at the bar which was full. Didn't take long for it to turn over. Grabbed two bar seats which were in the center of everything. Very lighted, busy, and loud. Our server and bartender, Bianca, was pleasant but very busy. Never got water refills but realize she was making drinks for the whole restaurant. Usually sitting at the bar gives you the best service, but not always the case. Drinks were okay. Ordered the hana town and golden era. Both a little sweet and unbalanced. One too booze forward and the other too mixer forward. Highly disappointed that there is no vegan main pasta dish. The executive chef suggested their gluten free pasta with red sauce. After perusing the menu, I would suggest a delish dish with maitake, lentils, peas and homemade pasta. There is a seared cauliflower and gigantic bean salad (minus parm) that are veganish. Ordered both. Portions are small, but they were edible. Still super surprised the chef wouldn't offer or create a better main with ingredients already on the menu. It's pasta and veggies served at a premium. Easy, but not here. Meat eaters will delight in all the animal dishes on the menu, but this isn't a repeat place for me. Get reservations if you're coming. It's small and busy. On the plus side, they have a parking lot and free side street parking.
This is a great spot for small groups or date nights! We thought our drinks were fabulous. The service was quick and attentive. It's always a nice touch when they change out silverware between courses. Overall the food was good but not insane. The burger really needs a different bun and was very heavy on pickles to the point it only tasted like pickles. I'd say the most notable were the french fries..maybe the best in the Detroit area
We enjoyed Beppe. The food was very good, the hamburger was tasty and fries were amazing. We also enjoyed the crudo. It was light, fresh and a good balance go the heavy burger. Knocked one star because the service is a bit strange. We checked the reservations a couple hours before and they had multiple of them open. We showed up to them telling us they don't have any availability and we have to sit at the bar. The restaurant was half empty for our entire meal. Very strange to deny a table with open reservations and open tables.
Beppe has the absolute BEST burger around (maybe the best I've ever had?), comforting yet modern vibes, great happy hour, and fast service. It's a Royal Oak Gem!
The food was good! The service was quick and kind and the vibes were on point. I definitely want to go again and try their pasta. I loved the arancini and would recommend it to everyone! The fries and aioli were soo delicious and the Caesar salad was good, it was missing that bit of acidity and cut that most Caesar salads have. I liked the look of the big croutons and the addition of the egg for some extra protein. Overall, super great meal and I hope to come back again soon!

Showed up around 745 and asked for a table of 4, only had to wait 10-15 mins for a table which is rare in royal oak! It was a warm night so they had the patio open (which is decorated very cute with twinkle lights and has heaters) so I'm not sure how they operate during the winter. The host was very kind and welcoming. They have a rotating menu but it would be nice if their website was updated when the changes are made. I was eyeing the short rib before coming so was disappointed to see that it was rotated off of the menu when we got there. The cauliflower dish was probably the best roasted cauliflower that I've ever had. It came with this cashew sauce, dates, mint and lemon. The nuttiness and citrus was an unexpected but delicious pairing. I got the steak tips appetizer for my meal and it was a perfect amount for me. The steak was cooked well and I liked the savory sauce that it was in & it came with these fried mashed potato balls, something I've never had before. We finished with the deconstructed apple pie. There were some baked cinnamon apples at the bottom, topped with vanilla ice cream and a puff pastry. I liked the flavors but the ratio was off, it needed more of the apple filling. My friends got the white fish dip which was extremely salty. They also got the rigatoni which they loved but the sausage was a tad spicy. read more
I've been wanting to visit here for awhile and enjoyed this cool, low key neighborhood gem with Italian food. The restaurant is on the smaller side but does have nice big windows and a patio. There is also a little parking lot behind it on Willits which I appreciate! Anyways food wise, ordered the crab cake with came with some sort of miso chutney which didn't really seem to go with it but the crab cake itself was decent. The fries and aioli were good but I do feel the fries could've been seasoned more- I am a fan of oregano, rosemary and herbs so for me the flavor was lacking a bit but they were tasty and a good portion to share with 2-3 people I'd say. I got the tagliatelle for my entree and it was a great size portion and tasty. I do wish there was more variety with the types of pasta offered as I'd love a white sauce, red sauce (ie bolognese or spicy marinara) or vodka sauce offering in addition to what is on the menu. This place does have an epic wine list and the drinks are very creative which I appreciate. I definitely recommend trying beppe! read more
I think Beppe has a lot potential to be successful as a newer, upscale restaurant in Royal Oak. It's just a short walk from the main area of downtown. Beppe's menu is great, it's short, with a nice variety of options. Several of the appetizers sounded good, as did the salads. They also have a good cocktail and wine/bottle list. The service is friendly and competent while still genuine. I had the scallops. I thought they were really good, but not amazing. My friend had the barramundi, which was amazing (though maybe should have been listed as garlic barramundi, as the garlic is strong, I love garlic so I enjoyed it). The fish was perfectly cooked, served on creamy risotto. I would go back to order this as well as try some of the apps. I think the interior falls short on the ambiance. I had been in the building before in its previous life as a Greek diner. Beppe is trying to be upscale, but has not lost the the diner feel yet, my friend noted it gives off a bit of upscale Dennys. I do really like their patio and will be back in the summer. read more
Wow! What an awesome place! It's hard to believe that this is the same place that used to be a dingy Greek restaurant! The patio was an awesome place to sit on a beautiful evening and we had the most delightful server! The drink menu was fabulous - three of us had the spritzes, which were perfect for the sunny summer night. All of the appetizers sounded great, but we decided on the steak tips. They were delicious...and I'm only half joking when I say that we were tempted to drink the juices from the marinade that were left in the dish because it was so good! For our entrees, two of us got the gnocchi and the other two had the barramundi. Both were fantastic and the portion sizes were perfect. My mouth is watering right now as I think about how good the parmesan risotto that came with the barramundi was! I can't wait to go back and try some other things on the menu! read more
Newer spot in downtown RO. It's where Niki's used to be. Looks smaller from the back. It's quaint. Bar and counter seating. Nice and simple interior. Tommy is waiting on us. Ordered the Barramundi. Blackened, a Cutlet and fries and everyday side salads with both of our meals and deviled egg less smoked salmon. The deviled eggs sounds good, minus the smoked salmon. Who doesn't like giardiniera. The deviled eggs are super yummy, the giardiniera gives them a perfect kick. The carrots gives it an interesting texture that I am not used to for deviled eggs, not bad at all. I could totally eat another round. The everyday salad was good, nice creamy dressing. The barramundi fish has a different texture, doesn't taste have that breakaway texture I am used to with most fish. This is only the third time eating barramundi but when you bite into it, it disintegrates like it's processed and ground up after one bite into it. It was strange and enigmatic as I tried to put into words what the experience of eating the fish was like. It has a similar texture after you bite it some to white fish spread. The blackened seasoning isn't bad, not super flavorful. I think I spent the entire time eating my fish trying to discern how odd the fish felt to me while eating it. The chicken cutlet was pretty solid, but the fries were not hot, nor were they crispy at all. The aioli would have been better with more stellar fries. The owner went around and checked on tables, that's nice. He checked on us around the start of our meal. Tommy checked on us too. They have Panna cotta and a chocolate peanut butter cake. Dinner as $75.26. Tommy was good to us. The food wasn't bad, some items needs some work and others are good as they are. I could have easily eaten an entire meal of deviled eggs and the everyday salad. read more

10/10... this was such a spur of the moment decision to come here and I am SO glad that we did! It has been such a long time since we have had such amazing service and food! The derives was so friendly, attentive, and caring! We love trying tartare everywhere that we go that has it on the menu, and was this a good tartare! The flavors were SO on point. It's also fantastic that they put the tartare on the bread for you too because the bread soaks up all of the juices!! The fries were so good we ordered 2... they're so tick and their aioli is sooo garlicky and herby! The wagyu melted in my mouth. We did medium-rare which was perfect for our liking. We cannot wait to go back!! read more

This was close to our hotel and had good ratings so we decided to try. They closed at 11 pm and we got there around 10 pm. The food was quite good and was very fresh. We were a larger party and they were able to accommodate giving us separate checks for each group as we all ordered different things. Service was very friendly and helpful. read more

The worst place I've been in a long time. You can smell the kitchen from the door, and inside is unbreathable. I sat at the bar expecting a quick service and my meal never came, I paid and asked to take out but I had to leave without my meal. The appetizer I order while waiting was like if it had been made hours before and tasteless. read more

We dropped by on Friday around 6:30 without a reservation, but we were able to find seats at the bar, which also offers full dinner service. The restaurant is small and charming, with exceptional food and a super-friendly waitress. There's also a spacious patio with heaters and an extensive wine list to explore. read more

Ate here recently with my friend from out of town. The server was kind, the food was good. However, we were eating our main courses when all of a sudden, the waitress told us our reservation was up and they needed the table. We had been there just over an hour, maybe an hour and 10 minutes. But she said we needed to cash out and gave us boxes. We were halfway through our meal! I was still chewing! I know they mention limited time slots when you make reservations, but it was so unnerving and sudden to be ushered out so quickly. It really ruined the whole experience for us, and we left with a bad taste in our mouths. I truly don't know if I'll go back. Hard to imagine planning a dinner knowing we'll be rushed to leave after only an hour. read more
Food was good, i loved the beans that come with the pork chop, and the seared cauliflower was a perfect appetizer, so filling and flavorful. But ngl the food was a bit salty...even the caesar my friend got...but service was friendly regardless of us waiting for an hour! Love the interior and vibe though, super lovely bathroom read more

Ever walk into a restaurant where the amazing aroma and great vibes hit you immediately & you just know it's going to be a great meal? That's exactly how I felt at Beppe. An absolutely must is the barramundi. It's grilled to perfection with lemon & herbs, served with parmesan risotto. Phenomenal! We also has the burger which was delicious. 2 nice sized patties topped with cheese, carmelized onion, dill pickle, truffle aioli served with house fries & garlic aioli. Filet tips appetizer was good. Loved the potato croquettes served with this dish. Craft cocktails looked really interesting & that's on the list for our next visit. Everyone was super friendly. It's a small place & they get busy. Reservations can be made for parties of 5 or more. This place is really special - check it out! read more
We came here for my friends birthday! I had never been. The other girls loved this place. They came early to get a table for 6. It's a smaller place than I expected. They only gave us 1 hour and 15 minutes to celebrate our friend and we felt rushed. They also didn't do anything for her birthday. The food is overpriced. I enjoyed my drink but I don't think this is a good place to celebrate an occasion. Maybe if you are grabbing an expensive bite on a random weekend or weekday but I got a $20 salad and it was kale, chick peas, Brussel sprouts and chicken. $20 for that? It was fine but this was no $20 salad. Most entrees were $20-$40 and I don't think this place offers that kind of ambiance for that price point. I'd heard this place wanted to be your go to spot for Royal Oakers. It's no Coney Island, that's for sure! If you get a drink, be prepared to spend at least $50 on your meal. read more
Finally stopped at Beppe. The interior is very cool and the food was simple and delicious. We ordered the filet tips, barramundi, and dessert. The croquettes that came with the filet tips were perfectly crispy and so delicious, pairing well with the au jus. The dessert was an ice cream with a cookie crumble that isn't on the menu, but was scrumptious! It was my partner's very part of the meal. This will definitely be a regular stop for our date nights. read more

This restaurant is what dreams are made of, so tasty. I got a summer spritz that was so tasty. Everything on the menu sounded so delightful. I ordered the burger and fries and it was hands down the best burger I've ever had. So greasy and flavorful, full of caramelized onions amazing. I can't wait to go back and try more! read more
Amazing customer service, delicious food and great ambiance! The host was so kind and accommodating, I really believe they have exceptional customer service. The food is also very fresh and flavorful. The ruby spritz was refreshing and the burger is scrumptious. The Arugala salad was also very good and tasty! Small space but a great vibe. read more
AMAZING! Staff is great and wonderful service, and very educated about items on the menu. The drinks are so good! We had the calamari and shrimp, steak bites, mashed potato balls (so good we ordered them again with our dinner), kale salad, vodka rigatoni (so good we got it again with chicken) fish, chicken thighs, burger, and dessert. Amazing! It was all soo tasty. If you haven't been here, GO now! Limited seats but amazing vibe, food and staff. read more
Beppe is an amazing addition to Royal Oak. Their outdoor patio is beautiful. My spritz was unique and tasty while the steak tips and salad were outstanding. The staff was attentive and enthusiastic. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is my boyfriends burger was fatty. The flavor was good, but he had to spit out a few pieces of pure fat/skin. Also our table was pretty dirty, not from food but like dusty. If these things can be adjusted no doubt it will be a solid 5 stars. read more
Came in at 7:25 on the evening of the great blizzard of 2022 where we got a total of 6" but at this time there was around 3-4" on the ground. Younger guy at the front was snarky and said" he'll have to check to check that out" after I said the hours online say your open to 9. Went down the street and spent my money else where. read more

Live nearby and have been watching them remodel and awaiting them to open. Have been there for brunch and it was great. Wanted to try dinner and it was even better. Quickly seated with very friendly and helpful staff. Ordered a Royal Oak sunrise very good and I ordered the Dynamic Duo and it was perfect. Great atmosphere, fun, great decor, good sound level and can't wait till summer to open up their patio. It's in an excellent location, away from the crowds downtown yet close enough to walk down to the crowds afterwards The main dishes were the Barramundi and the Vodka Risotto. She loved the perfect texture of the pasta and the sauce had just the right taste. I found the Barramundi nice, tender, meaty and perfectly done. The risotto was delicious and she was stealing it off my plate. (its ok we like to share) . Almost had a desert but we were fairly full and ready to head out. Looking forward to going again, trying the short ribs and whatever else. read more

I was going to say terrible spaghetti but I'll hold back and say not so good clam spaghetti dish. We even asked our waitress if it was clam heavy and she said no because the clams are blended into the sauce. Obviously there are tons of whole clams in the dish read more

This place looks great and the menu looks very interesting. I tried the hanger steak & fries and the Bellini. The Bellini was great, but I was really bummed that the steak was tough. I told the owner and his response was that cut of steak can be tough... that's it and walked away!! If it stated on the menu "this meat might tough".... Do you think I would of ordered it? If you can't prepare it properly then take it off your menu! And offer something to replace it. Very sad! read more
Such a great edition to Royal Oak. We had a lovely dinner on their patio a few weeks ago. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant which is always a plus. We shared the seared cauliflower and tuna carpaccio to start, both had great flavors, tuna was extremely fresh. I ordered the burger and fries and my husband ordered the pork chop. Both were amazing, even my husband, who's not a fan of French fries couldn't stop eating them. Our server was lovely and attentive. Overall we had a wonderful dining experience and can't wait to go back! read more

Beppé is a fantastic addition to Royal Oak. The food here is excellent. My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day and had a great meal. It's a little pricey, but the quality is there and the service was good too, so we think it's worth it. They have unique cocktails (I had the Valentine's Day special rose martini and a kiwi spritz, my boyfriend had a ruby spritz and a Sour Blues). They were all great. I think we enjoyed the Sour Blues (very strong blueberry flavor) and Kiwi Spritz the most. For the food, we had the caponata with baguette and the roasted carrots with ricotta as appetizers. Both were excellent, but I really enjoyed the caponata as it was much more flavorful than I thought it would be! For dinner I had the barramundi with Parmesan risotto. It was AMAZING. One of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. It has a lot of fresh garlic, so if you love garlic, you will love this. I will order this again. The risotto was perfectly creamy. My boyfriend had the pork chop with gigante beans and bacon, and he loved it; the pork chop was not overcooked. For dessert they only had one offering, so I'm assuming it rotates daily or weekly. Tonight it was blood orange sorbet, whipped cream, and what I think was graham cracker crumb at the bottom. It was also great to share. read more
