For the prices, everything (except the scallops) could've been better. First, I made reservations, and I still had to wait 10 minutes for my table, very irritating. The hostess stand is right when you walk in, and inconveniently located smack dab between the restrooms on the right, and the entrance to dining on the left, so there was always a traffic jam, crammed with people, and overall uncomfortable. Once you got into the dining room, it's nice, they sit you down and tell you a server is coming. Our server took ~5 min to come ask for our drink orders, and 5 minutes can feel like 20 when you're thirsty! We ordered the calamari & bread basket for appetizers. Although the flavor of the calamari was delicious, it wasn't hot and soggy, as if it sat too long while waiting to be delivered to us. The bread basket had some fancy crackers, pretzel sticks, and a small, soft loaf of bread, served with whipped butter. Um, if you're going to charge for a bread basket and put pretzels and crackers in it too, maybe serve something else other than butter. Personally I don't eat butter on my crackers or my pretzels. For our mains, he ordered the Grouper, which the plating was gorgeous & colorful, unfortunately the fish was over cooked, and the sauce it was served with was bland. I ordered the Ocean Prime salad and the surf & turf (appetizer version). My salad was soggy, like it had been pre-dressed and sat there for an hour, and I had exactly 2 slivers of green apple in it. The surf & turf was luke warm, the short rib was tender, but the sauce was one note, but the SCALLOPS were delicious and cooked perfectly, although cold-ish. Since it was his birthday, they gave him a free dessert, which he picked peanut butter pie. It was fluffy & rich, and I appreciate the gesture from the restaurant. We were there 2 hrs for dinner. I appreciate not being rushed, but there were several times I wanted something from my server, but she was nowhere to be found. Overall, for the prices they charge, I expect better food, tastes, service & total experience. Would I give it another chance, probably not.

We had a lovely time at Ocean Prime! We came for a special occasion and they did everything possible to make it special! The service was 5 star all the way! The ambiance is beautiful! The food was AMAZING! and the drinks were top notch. It's pricey but you get what you pay for and this night was perfection! I would absolutely be back!

We got the salad, lobster bisque, grouper as well as the salmon teriyaki which is not pictured and the kids salmon meal. For the price I can tell that you are paying for the ambiance which is quite nice and the service which is prompt. The food was average priced considering it was lunch time. I think the most worth it dish was the seafood salad as it contains sizeable chunks of seafood mixed with avocado and a nice dressing in a bed of greens with lemon on top. The lobster bisque was a bit heavy, but did have a lobster taste and several lobster chunks in it. I'm glad I tried it but it is a bit too heavy for me. I also got the grouper which was part of a lunch combo. The grouper was light and contained gnocchi and small greens as well as peas and tomatoes. If you are between the Chilean sea bass or other fish and the grouper, and are hesitant, the grouper is not a bad pick although I have not tried the Chilean sea bass yet. Like I said service was on point and there was someone to fill drinks, someone to take orders and to check on us and someone who greeted us when we walked in. The lunch pricing was about $30 per entree. Just don't expect to get your full money's worth here. Overall I'm glad I tried it and it might be a restaurant that I come back once in a while.

Hmmm I don't think it's worth the price. Ocean prime is a pretty "fine dining" experience. However, I don't think the food is up to that. They use to be really amazing, but now I'm not so sure. The bread service should definitely be free as I didn't think it was worth the price. It was some pretzels, everything crackers and yeast like bread. It wasn't that great at all. Deviled eggs (order not by me) are ok if you like deviled eggs. The presentation was beautiful though. The tarte (order not by me) was good (I was told). Beautiful presentation. Scallops were not bad. My steak was kind of tough and not cooked well. It came out cold and for the price I paid, it wasn't up to par. The lobster tails were good. The only thing I enjoyed food wise. They did have some non-alcoholic cocktails that were enjoyable. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. I don't think Ocean Prime is my choice in fine dining restaurants.

Halibut with lemon caper sauce... Chef special delicious

What an absolute amazing evening! Let's start with the fact that our server was absolutely outstanding! Her name was Teal and she was not only knowledgeable on every single item on the menu and was able to speak in detail in terms of not only the ingredients, but your experience and eating it. She was also amazingly, friendly and attentive... Just the star of our evening! The food is delicious and the Troy location is absolutely fantastic. We appreciate the gorgeous atmosphere and approachable parking.

I had a gorgeous meal with colleagues at Ocean Prime. We arrived just before the restaurant opens on Sunday. Others arrived prior to my arrival and were already shown to our private dining room. The space is beautiful, and the service was impeccable. Upon making reservations, we were sent a contract and selected options for a prefix menu that would be shared with all guests upon arrival. I loved the menu options we were offered to select for our guests. There was something for each of the courses to satisfy our co-workers whom each have specific preferences and sensitivities. Our personalized menu options, which are based on the total amount the party will spend, included: First Course: Crab Cakes Calamars in chili sauce Lobster Bisque Entree: Chicken with roasted tomatoes and spinach bread Filet Mignon with a potato cake and spinach Teriyaki Salmon with rice and veggies Dessert: Warm Butter cake Chocolate Peanut Butter pie Carrot cake We also had a tasty salad. Everyone was pleased with their meal. The filet was very flavorful, tender and just the right temperature. I also very much enjoyed the carrot cake and the Espresso Martini. Ocean Prime is a wonderful choice for event celebrations, dinner with family, or dining alone to commemorate any occasion.

Came here this past Friday to celebrate Valentine's Day and it was completely worth it. Our server was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered was made to perfection from the drinks to the food. We started with an order of sushi rolls and a wedge said that they offered to split for us. On the side I ordered the Berries and Bubbles cocktail which was quite entertaining as bubbles and smoke flowed throughout the beverage as I drunk it. It was crafted and greatly enjoyable to drink. My boyfriend also love his cocktail too. As soon as we finished a cocktail or dish our waiter was there collecting our plates and preparing us for the next meal. He regularly checked on us and made sure our water stayed full. The entrees were the best part. I ordered the Chilean Seabass which was made precise as it merely melts in your mouth and was paired with smooth buttery mashed potatoes and broccolini. I enjoyed every bite and it was very plentiful. My boyfriend got the ribeye steak medium well with the Gouda tater tots. He loved every once of his tender steak and thought the tots were tasty with a unique twist. The mood is very romantic with dim lighting and white table clothes which gave a more eloquent vibe. It was a perfect romantic date spot. We were so glad that we decided to give this place a try for a special occasion. For price and quality it was a perfect 10. I highly recommend, you will not regret it.

Came for lunch and was very pleased with everything. Ambiance is nice. Service is friendly. Got their chop chop salad and it was amazing. Best salad ever. Loved the sourness and uniqueness of the dressing. Salad was packed with high quality protein like lobster and shrimp. All ingredient tasted fresh and high quality. Also got the salmon dish. I didn't taste it but family member enjoyed it. Would return to try other items on the menu!

My experience at Ocean prime was for my birthday when I arrive. My reservation was at 7:30. They had me sit around for about 15 minutes very busy when I was seated everything was smooth we ordered drinks unfortunately I don't drink alcoholic so they did have soda products. The water was free. I seen some review saying the water was an extra cost. We ordered the Caesar salad to start absolutely perfect. We then ordered the ribeye/Oscar style. My girlfriend had the salmon and we also ordered two sides a truffle mac & cheese, and the Gouda tater tots sides were absolutely perfect 10 out of 10 the Gouda tater tots were $14 a truffle mac & cheese was $19. No entrées come with any sides. The salmon was very basic for my taste 51$ my steak that I had the Oscar style, 69 for steak and 15$ extra for Oscar style...which is a some type of butter sauce with crab meat on top I like my meat medium well they did not do that. Very well. Gave me m medium rare steak.... very hefty steak super thick. Nothing was bad about the evening besides the price on the bill the waiter was very friendly very helpful. I did leave this place very very full. Since it was my birthday they gave me a free dessert, which I really do appreciate but for the price like I said might not be back. I would love more of an experience for that price compared to a basic Longhorn dinner. This is simply my opinion and I enjoyed my time at Ocean prime just believe the price could be a little bit better.Fursure !!!

I had a birthday celebration dinner here for 9 of us and it was perfect! I called about two wks prior to make a reservation and requested 7 or 730. They said the earliest they could do was 7:45 or 8 but that I could check back as it got closer. When it got closer, my husband called back and they said 7:30 was fine. I asked if we could have a private room I saw on the website and the hostess had said no, it had to be booked with a different person at the time of reservation. Well, come day of the party, they put us in the room. I kept asking my husband if he called the manager or something and he said no! They also decorated the table with confetti and said I could control the music. Our waitress was Audrey and she was incredible. As you can see, we ordered quite a lot of food and drink. The meal was fantastic. The service was superb. They let us bring in our own cake and they gave me a free birthday dessert to go. Also, I didn't bring any extra decorations as I thought we were in the main part of the restaurant at a regular table but my friend brought in big birthday number balloons and even though the hostess said she couldn't bring them in, our waitress said yes we can! Audrey for the win!! Thank you Ocean Prime for making my birthday memorable, special and delicious!

Very Well-Appointed Service and Delicious Food Food: The food had exceptional flavor and paired well together. The wine recommendation was spot on. We ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce as a side and the Ocean Prime House Salad with the Cameron Mitchell "Legal Pad" Red Blend wine. The sea bass was probably the best that I've had. The asparagus was thick and well-prepared with the Hollandaise sauce adding the perfect touch. The house salad was very good and paired well with the meal. The dessert was the house specialty Butter Cake with ice cream, berries, and raspberry glaze. All the flavors were perfectly accompanied for a sweet finish to the meal. I added a glass of Fonseca tawny Port as I can't partake in the dessert. Hospitality: From the moment that we arrived the valet opened the door, the hostess wished us a Happy Anniversary, and our server Chris was very pleasant. Red rose petals were laid on the table to greet us. Chris offered us complementary glasses of champagne to start the night. He took the utmost care to find a wine to pair with our meal, and, after sampling several glasses, we selected the Cameron Mitchell "Legal Pad" Red Blend. The staff paid attention to every detail on our special occasion. Every wished us a happy anniversary, and was very happy to see us. Anyone who is familiar with Detroit and the suburban area knows that people here are generally not happy to meet new people. We felt right at home from the moment that we arrived. Service: I could not tell you which was better the food or the service as both were of top quality. Ocean Prime offered the highest level of service in the Detroit area, and the staff was exceptionally well-trained and accommodating. Housekeeping: Everything was well-maintained with white tablecloths on the tables and clean amenities. The staff made housekeeping appear effortless as even the staff removing the plates were very polite and unobtrusive. Atmosphere: Upbeat music and soft lighting made a relaxing atmosphere that was perfect for an intimate meal. My wife was able to relax after a long, stressful day baking for our small bakery business. The meal was a welcome break from a long working day. Conclusion: For excellent food and top caliber service you can not do better than Ocean Prime in the Detroit area. I highly recommend this restaurant, and send my highest regards to our server, Chris, and the entire staff. Thank you so much for making our anniversary extra special.

Came for a work meeting and the wait staff was amazing and attentive. The food.... Wow. The sweet-chili calamari (not pictured) was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I had the teriyaki salmon.... We took one bite and all looked at each other. Dang, it's good. Steaks were perfectly pink and the sauce and potato underneath... amazing. Chefs kiss. Will come again.

$35 lunch scallops with soup and dessert, kinda let down.
