House margarita. - A house margarita in a salted rim glass with a lime wedge, set on a dark table with chips and various drinks in the background.

Came here for a retirement celebration. 54 W. was perfect for our group. There was 10 of us and we were able to make reservations. Casual and intimate environment. There were some tables and high tops but there also was lounging type areas. That is where our group hung out for the evening and it was perfect. We all could talk with one another but still able to enjoy our drinks and food. Our waiter was amazing. I wish I caught his name. But we were a rowdy bunch and he handled us professionally and was friendly. My only complaint was not filling waters enough. But other than that drinks and food came out pretty fast. 54 W. has a collaboration with Mojave Cantina for food, so you can't go wrong because Mojave is delicious! Drinks and food were all tasty! The place has their own bathrooms - two unisex single stall restrooms. Not sure if it was the big group and I missed it? But didn't know if they had a drink menu? Food menu was a QR code and our waiter brought over hard copy menus from Mojave. A very cool place and great for drinks or celebrating.

Cute quiet spot in Clawson to grab a drink. My friend recently moved to the area and wanted to show me some of the bars and restaurants in Clawson. They're located behind Mojave Cantina and have a cute outdoor patio area open in the summer with cushioned seats and fire pits, which was closed for winter but it looked like they had an igloo setup outside in the patio area. We sat inside which was dim lit and decorated with chandeliers, and had a comfy cushioned booth that goes around the perimeter of the restaurant. Their cocktail list has several different flavored margaritas, sangria, and Moscow mules, as well as mojitos, and other specialty cocktails like a lemon drop, Manhattan, and gimlet. We both had the margarita flights which were $9 for 3 different flavored margaritas. I had the blood orange, raspberry, and blackberry margaritas in my flights with sugared rims and the blood orange was my favorite of the three. They also have sangria flights but were out. They also had some craft beers on tap from Bells, Founders, and Magic Hat. 54 West's food menu was mostly appetizers and shareables with items like southwest egg rolls, pretzels and queso, Bosco sticks, chicken tenders, and potato poppers. They also had salads. Most menu items were$7-$10 and most cocktails were around $9. It was pretty quiet there for a Saturday night but my friend says it gets pretty busy there in the summer whe the patio is open. Service was good and our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive and checked on us several times throughout our visit. Enjoyed the margaritas which were tasty and I'd definitely stop in again.

It was a Wednesday, and we wanted to do something fun for the evening. We remembered that 54 West was hosting Trivia. We hopped in the car and headed to Clawson. This was not our first time at 54 West. We happened upon this place, last year, after a Yelp Elite event we attended. It's a small bar located behind a Mexican restaurant, and if you don't know it's there, you'll never find it. It's a small bar, but let me tell ya, they pack'em all in! lol It was a full house for Trivia. We found a nice table and ordered some food; we were starving. There were only two servers, who were also the bartenders. I was amazed at how quickly they managed the drinks, food, and patrons. The menu offered a wide variety of the usual bar food, but we were pleased to find healthier options on the menu. We are both carb counting and couldn't indulge in all the deep fried specialties! :) I ordered a grilled chicken salad and he opted for the chicken tenders. We both enjoyed our meals and to top off our evening....Cheers to a Trivia Win! We will most definitely be back.

They were just opening up, but they let us sit at the bar while they got the restaurant ready for dinner. We all got drinks at the bar. I got The Final Rose drink. its's very pretty and not too strong. After sipping on the drinks, the host brought us to our table. Chris was our server that day. He was super friendly and answered all of our questions regarding the menu. Here's what we got: - Michigan lamb ragu (his) - Lobster and shrimp pad thai (mine) - Crab and shrimp cakes (share) - clam chowder (share) His family got some of the same items, but I can't remember the different items they got. The overall consensus though was that everything tasted fantastic. Coming from the Bay Area, I have high expectations when it comes to Asian food, so I was pleasantly surprised by how great the pad thai tasted. The clam chowder was creamy and delightful. The crab cakes were the perfect size and not teeny tiny. The lamb ragu was very well done also and my husband is a big fan of lamb so he really enjoyed his meal. Since we were there early, it was quiet which was nice. Would definitely return in the future the next time I am in Michigan.

The server was very nice, but said the chef had gone home so there was no way to verify correct price. Weird... So tough way to end a great meal, we should have asked about the price initially so that ones in us, and they did offer us a dessert/coffee if we wanted. But, word to the wise-check the price before ;)

I understand, but I am still a paying customer too. There is a private seating area that can be rented out, there is the option to rent the entire restaurant too. Inside the private room area there are toys and books- kid friendly and when the weather breaks there is a garage door that can open up to a patio. In addition to pizza and cocktails/beer there is coffee and pastries. I would come back to try the pastries and a latte, as I am not a coffee drinker. But there is multiple bags of coffee for sale too. All in all I am happy we stumbled upon this restaurant based on other Yelp! Reviews. See you soon again.

The person at the counter who took our order (tomato soup, two pizzas, and coffees) was friendly and made helpful suggestions. The soup and pizzas came out piping hot. The coffee was very good. The music was played at a low volume that allowed for conversation. The vibe is relaxing and extremely pleasant. Now for the meh: The tomato soup's taste was acidic and raw. Not the usual tomato-soup-tart but sharply acidic, and it needed to be cooked longer. The person who brought out our pizzas dropped them on the table - literally, banged it down - and, scowling, walked away. Before we could start eating, we had to wander around to find plates, napkins, and cutlery. It would have been fine to get our own if there was a sign saying to do that, but there was no visible sign, and having to step away from freshly-plated hot food is a bummer. The pizza crust had a pleasant sourdough aroma but it had an unpleasant aftertaste. I'd definitely return to Mother Handsome for coffee and dessert but I probably won't go back for a meal.

Just one burger option and limited toppings. Server was very nice but didn't write down the order, and when it came my burger was missing the cheese and onion. I wasn't sure if they would take it back or what so I didn't eat anymore and it took her a decent amount of time to come and check on us after we got our food. I let her know what was missing and she said it was her fault and asked if I wanted it fixed. I said yeah and she went and got a cold piece of cheese and slice of onion and put it on a plate and gave to me to put on my own burger. I'd expected a little bit better service and I'm certainly not someone who demands top tier service from every spot. Fries were crispy but needed some parm or an aioli sauce to dip in. Also minor note but I had some fries left on my plate and when she came to collect plates I had food in my mouth so I couldn't say anything but she took the plate and my fries! They should always ask if there's any food left on the plate. Burger was decent overall, but definitely nothing special. Environment was cool and I'm sure they have got some other delicious items on the menu but for the price paid and service received, I'd go somewhere else next time.

It was a lovely experience and the food was for the most part very delicious. Service was friendly and good but a tad on the slow side (not our server's fault, they seemed pretty busy and I think she may have been the only waitress working, so she was absolutely juggling a ton). They were out of the "pretty potatoes" which was disappointing because they sounded super delicious. The restaurant is a little dark and when very busy can get a little loud. The three women at the table next to us were having a very loud conversation (of which I picked up every word) and I could barely hear my fiancé, which I didn't love, so the acoustics are a bit odd. That being said, the decor and vibe is very home-y and everyone that works there was very pleasant and lovely, from the hostess to the man that refilled our waters. We got the charcuterie plate (selected two cheeses and two meats; comes accompanied by fig jam, mustard, sardinian crackers, and cornichons), the caesar salad, the short rib, the arctic char, and the olive oil cake for dessert. All of the food was really exceptional and delicious except I found the short rib to be a tad dry. We each ordered a cocktail, I got a spritzer and my fiancé got a seasonal Pimm's cup-type cocktail that used house-made cranberry syrup. They can accommodate gluten free diets easily which is also a plus. Overall, we will absolutely be coming back!I want to try that Wagyu Pastrami Reuben!
