    Wagyu Mushroom and Swiss
    Lynette R.

I came for their Wagyu and Wine event which I heard was amazing. The recommendation was spot on. I enjoyed the Mushroom and Swiss burger with the Zinfandel recommended pairing. It complimented the slight sweetness of the Zarlsberg Cheese and the beef. Debi does her job very well. Very attentive even with all the requests that were coming her way behind the bar. The restaurant itself would make for that night out with the special someone. The ambiance is cozy and romantic with the dim lighting. Can't wait to come back and try their regular menu.

The bread basket has a very nice assortment.

I have eaten at this location several times and ordered the sliced filet for the first time. It was the best meal I have had at The Capital Grille. There were four of us and each ordered something different. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had good service and the decor is very elegant. If you are not familiar with The Capital Grille, it is a restaurant where you order sides separately. It's a great restaurant for a special occasion.

Capital Grille was a solid 10 for me. So first things first, they do have a dress code but they do compromise. Bar/lounge area, casual wear is acceptable but you gotta put that shit on for the main dining room. I love that! Bring back real clothes. They start you off with a basket of a variety of breads. It was like 3/4 different breads. The onion roll was my favorite. Okay so for the special, it's $35 a pairing for the burger of your choosing and a glass of Cabernet, Merlot or Pinot Noir. I'm not a red wine drinker at alllll so I let my waitress help me pick and she chose the Cabernet and the Merlot and she chose right! My mushroom Swiss burger was fireeeee. I got it cooked medium and it came out just right. You can tell the meat was of good quality as soon as you bite into it & there was definitely some seasonings and spices going on in there. They didn't count on the cheese and mushrooms to do all the work which I GREATLY appreciate. My waitress and server assistant were absolutely lovely. So attentive and sweet to me. 10s for them individually and collectively. So for a long time, I thought I didn't like cold/raw oysters and that I only like chargrilled or Rockefeller but that's absolutely not true. So I've been on a raw oyster kick lately and I just couldn't help myself, I had to order some and there did not disappoint. You gotta dress them up with all the fixings before you eat them. Before I left, I got a lemon drop. Fireeeeeee!! Perfect balance of mixings and alcohol. I hate sweet drinks and this lemon drop did everything she came to do.

We went for a birthday dinner on a Sunday evening after attending the Lions game . We booked our table on open table and they were ready right as we arrived though it was busy for a Sunday evening. The table was decorated with a birthday card and party favors. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and the cocktails well crafted . I enjoyed the dry aged bone in strip steak . To top it off dessert was provided as a birthday treat . Jen our server was awesome , especially through a couple order hiccups .

Apologies for my lack of quality pictures, because everything was served in such a beautiful & elegant way. We started off with cocktails at the bar, and the bartender Debbie was outstanding. We had lemon drops and Stoli dolies (pineapple infused vodka cocktail)and they were the best drinks I've had in a long time. Debbie's incredible cocktails actually inspired new ideas for our home bar. We had 14 ounce New York strips with the bone in, Caesar salads (extra croutons & aged Parmesano Regiano) and lobster crab cakes.. We enjoyed the experience so much that I overlooked taking photos of the food. And I'd like all of the artisanal bread lovers to check out their everything dinner rolls. They were piping hot, crusty on the outside and soft & tender inside. The Capital Grille is an upscale, classy restaurant, however there's nothing pretentious in their way of serving their guests. Dress well & eat well, but understand that on the average I'd expect one to spend between $150-$300 per person at this fine dining establishment. But I assure you,the beautiful dining room, customer service and delicious food are ABSOLUTELY worth having the experience. And I'm a very picky chef. Check them out when you're having a self care day.

Sliced Stea Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms and Fig Essence

What an amazing lunch experience we enjoyed at the Capital Grill Somerset in the skilled, personable hands of our server, Jason! From wines to entrees, his recommendations were impeccable. Good pours too. Though, business lunchees and shoppers were part of the dining crowd this day, the volume was contained by the low ceilings and sound absorbent decor. Bread basket appeared without begging for it, as is often the case at other establishments. We relaxed with beverages while leisurely perusing the menu and chatting. Jason did not rush us. My Sliced Steak Fillet lunch entree with sautéed mushrooms and pearl onions was great. It was cooked just the way I like it, and tender. A perfect match with the red wine! Parking is on the mall lot, or there is valet service. Enter from inside the mall. During this time of year, a post-meal mall walk is just out the door!

Excellent food Excellent service. It was my birthday and The Capital Grille was fabulous. The service was terrific and the food was scrumptious. The room is warm and welcoming and it was a busy night.

Everything was perfect, per the usual. Like a well oiled machine, Capital Grill is consistently delicious. We went to celebrate my Birthday, I was given a card and some cute Bday confetti on the table. Also, the complimentary dessert was a chocolate cake & cheesecake, so good. Highly recommend.

Decided this spot to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday! Spot on!! They did not disappoint with anything! Valet parking is a must! I requested a booth, was a little disappointed we had to sit at a table. However, the service was wonderful!!! I expect nothing less from a place such as this one.. We ordered steaks, they were cooked to perfection.. bread basket was tasty.. Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts.. sooo good! The only dish I was not impressed with was the crab cake.. I'm that girl that try to order them when I can, but theirs didn't wow me. Definitely recommend for any type of celebration! Forgot to mention, they gave my daughter roses... her father's request during rsvp!

I've never been here, what would you recommend for dress attire?

My friend still had to specifically request the gluten free menu when she got there, after looking at the regular menu & not finding any markings of what food was gluten free. It would have been nice if the waitress had just brought it right away. I had the lunch size Gnocchi Carbonara, which was delicious! I did have the suggested wine pairing, which was very good with my food. And what a great idea to offer some lunch sized portions of some of the dishes (ends at 3pm). My friend had the gluten free grilled mahi mahi sandwich & side of Asian slaw, which she enjoyed. They weren't super busy & we sat quite awhile to chat. Really enjoyed it & will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items!

I had the Parmesan crusted chicken from their Life Balance section. I enjoyed it very much. I don't usually like warm tomatoes, but the ones in this dish were really good. Honestly, I'm surprised that this was a lower calorie dish, as it certainly was plentiful, filling and satisfying.

Everything tasted super fresh and the menu leans more "snacky" in the best possible way -- perfect little plates that are clearly meant to pair with wine. We ordered a few things for the table and it felt like the kind of place where you just keep ordering one more thing because everything sounds good. Nothing heavy, just really well done bites that let the wine shine. Speaking of wine, the selection is awesome. It's not the usual predictable restaurant list. There are some really interesting bottles and styles on there, which makes it fun if you actually enjoy trying different wines instead of just defaulting to the same thing every time. Service was great too. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell the owners are really hands-on and working hard to make the place special. That always makes a difference. And the ambiance... chef's kiss. Moody lighting, cozy, stylish but not pretentious. Just good vibes all around. It's the kind of spot you want to linger at with friends and a second bottle of wine. Already planning my next visit :)

I'm more of a dry-wine person, and honestly I probably only enjoy about 5% of the menu, but I will say the prices are great and the menu is huge. There's truly something for everyone, just maybe not for the dry crowd. I do appreciate that they offer snacks for purchase and the wine club is actually a great deal. Service: This is where it slipped for me. I've been to other St. Julian locations and had genuinely great experiences, so I know the bar is higher. Here, the service was just ok. The staff didn't seem very engaged and gave off more "going through the motions" than "happy to have you here." It felt like regulars got the warm treatment, while everyone else was kind of an afterthought, which was a bummer. Ambiance: It's always packed, which says something, but the space itself feels cold and a little warehouse-y. I really wish this location had that cozy, homey winery vibe the others do. The energy is busy but not welcoming, and the location doesn't help much either. If I could give one suggestion to the team, it'd be to soften the space and the experience a bit, warmer lighting, more interaction, something that makes people want to linger instead of just drink and leave. I know this place can be great, it just doesn't quite get there yet.

They were out of the "pretty potatoes" which was disappointing because they sounded super delicious. The restaurant is a little dark and when very busy can get a little loud. The three women at the table next to us were having a very loud conversation (of which I picked up every word) and I could barely hear my fiancé, which I didn't love, so the acoustics are a bit odd. That being said, the decor and vibe is very home-y and everyone that works there was very pleasant and lovely, from the hostess to the man that refilled our waters. We got the charcuterie plate (selected two cheeses and two meats; comes accompanied by fig jam, mustard, sardinian crackers, and cornichons), the caesar salad, the short rib, the arctic char, and the olive oil cake for dessert. All of the food was really exceptional and delicious except I found the short rib to be a tad dry.
