I really liked the Machico crispy chicken! It was enough to feed two people, in my opinion. It had just the right amount of crisp and I loved the kick of the calamansi and pickles. I was also a big fan of the calamansi mango juice - it was so refreshing! The service was nice and quick. We went after watching Hadestown, since the IKEA cafeteria was close by. Cute spot in the food court at IKEA! It's an interesting fusion of Asian food + American burger. I ordered the Inay's BBQ chicken bowl with half rice & half salad. The chicken pieces were tender and grilled to perfection. Love the ample amount of greens on the side. It is not spicy. If you're looking for spicy you can try their chicken sisig bowl. You order on the self serve iPad. The food was a bit of a wait, around 15 mins but they make everything fresh. Izzy & Wooks just opened at Saluhall this week! I've been wanting to try them for a while.. since they were at the Metreon actually. And I got the opportunity this weekend. I got the tamarind hot mochiko chicken sando, and it was delicious! The chicken was incredibly juicy, and the breading was the perfect thickness and crispiness. I enjoyed the elote slaw, that also added a nice crunch. As far as flavor, it had pleasant tangy and citrusy notes from the tamarind oil, balanced by the acidity from the pickles. And the soft brioche bun tied it all together. The heat was mild as described on their menu. But I think I'm going to go for the scorpion next time. But if you can't tolerate heat at all, they do have their regular mochiko sando. I also got the mango calamansi cooler, and it was really refreshing and not too sweet. Service was friendly and I got my order quickly. I went here on a Saturday, so it was pretty quiet. There were a few groups of people meeting up either for work or to play RPGs. Grand reopening was yesterday and I missed it because I was so tired. So today I'm in to try it! Got the bbq chicken bowl mango Calamansi drink and it was what I needed to replenish my energy. I got it with all rice vs the rice salad mix. It had some red cabbage and beets, also a little cauliflower. Beets is something I never had with my Filipino dishes and I liked it. Innovative. The mango calamansi was super refreshing I might get another cup. I liked the tender chicken. Warm, freshly cooked, you can tell it was just made! Seems like staff are still being trained yet they are really friendly and doing great! Currently no line as it's slow at 4pm, but I bet it was busy here yesterday with the live dj. I checked out Izzy & Wooks on level 2 at Saluhall (Market Street between 5th and 6th Streets) while staying nearby. When I visited, I think they had opened fairly recently. I went with the Manong sandwich, which was a crispy Mochiko filet (Hawaiian style sweet rice flour-battered chicken) topped with their BBQ glazed pork belly, Izzy sauce, banana ketchup, grilled onions, sweet pickled bitter melon, pickled chili, and elote slaw. They weren't that busy but it took about 20 minutes for my order to be ready, which I took as a good sign they were making it fresh to order. With all the ingredients, it was a smorgasbord of flavors. The chicken had crispy breading but was perfectly moist inside. There are so many other sandwiches I'd try off their menu. A few days now on yelp, Izzy & Wooks had earned its kiosk spot that replaced the vegan Mexican cafe neighbor inside Saluhall. It's fine to have Filipino burgers let alone lumpias. Before this food company moved from Westfield, Izzy & Wooks still going strong. Their lumpias were just as good as the ones from Sarap Shop! The entirety of Westfield of Market St, including its concourse food court, was completely wiped off clean due to financial crisis. And it's also scary to see some other businesses closing down due to their lack of customers. So other than Izzy & Wooks during the grand ceremonial opening, there's also Smish Smash, Cheezy Pizza, and Curry Up Now. Let's not forget IKEA next door that always provides their national dish such as the Swedish Meatballs! The bottom line is that we must support small local businesses to keep them running with still enough customers after shopping hours. read more

My spontaneous goal of writing a review a day in January continues... #21 on Jan 21 2026 I got to try this new spot at Saluhall. I ended up getting the bbq chicken bowl, I was craving Filipino bbq. I enjoyed the veggies too! But I must say I prefer their lumpia over their bbq chicken. Once you've tasted Fil-Am, nothing else compares. This is no exception. I would come back for the lumpia tho! Always in the mood for that crispy fried snack. Between that and Curry Now on that floor, there isn't much... they even lost the Indonesian place? crayyyyy bc it was actually pretty good. We visited their pop up at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on a Saturday and ordered their Ultimate Bacon and Egg. Sandwich was large enough to split between two and well priced. My family and I tried out this place which was tucked away inside IKEA's SALUHALL. At first glance on their menu everything sounds nice and looked reasonably priced, but I have to say some stuff were not worth it. Like their french fries when they arrived for instance $4 for a singular tiny small plate (sadly not pictured, as I was a tad bit disappointed) it wasn't like it was fancy or topped with anything it was just plain regular french fries and it was way too crispy like overly fried and tooth chipping. My husband and daughter got the Crispy Mochiko Chicken which tasted good again french fries serving super small like feeding a small child portion. Chicken sandwich was eh good. I had the Inay's BBQ Chicken Bowl it came with some green sauce that wasn't flavorful for me. The bowl I think presentation wise was aesthetically pleasing to look at but and it was fresh ingredients, but flavor wise it was a bit lack luster. I wanted to support a Filipino establishment but the way I witnessed the chef in the back of the house treat the cashier was unacceptable. Especially in front of customers. There was some type of misunderstanding and he spoke to him so disrespectfully and mean and didn't care who was listening. I'm not sure what made it Filipino exactly, I'm assuming the banana ketchup but it honestly tasted just like a regular burger with some sweetness added. This place is the new restaurant since the owners moved out of the Sony Metreon a while back. Nice decorations and it was featured my eater. There's a kiosk for ordering on a touch screen. The wait was super long but worth it. I was starving the whole day, but had the most delicious chicken sandwich with tamarind flavored sauce (Tamarind hot chicken sando). Yum! The fried were so-so. I had to ask for ketchup which they gave just about enough. The staff asked to open the Jaritos orange drink, they should have opened the hand more, I tried to get and cut my hand on accident. Would have been good if they open it all the way or put it in a cup or not opened it at all. I would come here again to try other dishes. I've been here 2 times in 2-3 weeks. Each time I tried something new. We came here the first time specifically for the Truff Smash. I love smash burgers in general but I never had a Filipino influenced burger before. The use of banana ketchup for the grilled onions and calamansi to flavor the burger was so intriguing to me that I just had to give them a shot. The Filipino flavors I admittedly didn't notice AT FIRST, but once I took my time to really savor each bite I began realize the flavors were ever to subtly present. The calamansi added an interesting flavor profile that I honestly didn't expect to have such an impact. We also got an order of lumpia and the tuyo-mansi chicken. Those who didn't really do it for me. It was so delicious that I ended up coming back a week or 2 later with my cousin since we were in the city already. The second time around, however, I ordered the tamarind hot chicken. Now this is where they really dropped the ball. It's advertised as a spicy tamarind flavored chicken sandwich. It had ZERO heat and ZERO tamarind flavor. As for the cook itself, the chicken was relatively juicy and crunchy. We also ordered the longanisa poutine. Now that one I'm honestly not sure how I felt about it. The flavor was a tad dull and I would have hoped the fries would have been a little more crispy. On another note, i'm really disappointed that they had things on their menu that they don't actually serve yet. Namely their shakes, like how are you gonna have an Ube shake on the menu when you are nowhere near ready to actually serve it. So I would say from a service standpoint, that's one way they drop the ball. The interior is fairly clean and I enjoyed the pictures of the dogs and their logo . One thing I did notice, though was that they had a bunch of those super tiny flies, I hope they can find something they can use to keep them out or something. Combining both visits into one review, I would consider this a very high 3 or a low 4 on average. In reality it was still really good. I built up a lot hype in my head that was unfair. The smash burger was very good. You can get a crispy cheese crown on it. Like come on, I'm doing that. The Longanisa muffin was my favorite. Straight money. Chicken sandwich needed to kick up the flavor. Back to the drawing board on that one. Beignets were incredible. Burgers, sandwiches, sides, and bowls. We ordered the Adobo Portobello Mushroom Burger, the Izzy burger, Longalog Muffin, 4 piece lumpia, and fries. Izzy burger was just okay. I believe it was just a small smach burger. The portobello mushroom burger seemed like it was missing something. I feel like it was missing garlic aoli maybe? Longalog Muffin was good! I liked the sauce inside. Lumpia was also really good, I can tell it was fresh and not frozen. The fries were also really good! House-Made Lumpia: Definitely better than the frozen stuff at grocery stores (which some restaurants try to pass off as their own). You could tell this was made in-house since the skin was thin and flaky, not a dense shell. Nice meaty mince in the middle. Surprisingly light for a deep fried meat stick. Izzy Truff Smash Burger (Manny's Way): At this point I feel like I can't go back to non-smash burgers. Something so delicious and umami about all the crispy browned sides. And it's amazingly moist, despite the crisp. Liked the "Manny's Way" add-on of getting a crispy cheese round on top in addition to the melt cheese. So many great flavors. Very rich. Though perhaps a tad high in sodium, since I was quite thirsty in the next few hours after. Tamarind Hot Chicken Sandwich: Even though it's fried chicken, it feels lighter than the smash burger. Lots of crispy batter around some tender thigh meat. I was really feeling the sauce which has a mild chili tang and lots of great sour tamarind taste. Pairs nicely with the fluffy brioche slaw. Shiitake Italian Beef w/ Smoked Fresh Mozzarella: So I've never had an Italian Beef sandwich before, but I've heard so much about it. Was excited to finally give it a go. It was kinda like slow cooker beef, shredded and fall apart tender, with grilled peppers and pickled peppers. Their variant also has some squeaky shiitake mushroom slices in the mix. The meat and soft bun had a great texture, especially when dipping in the tiny sauce container. It felt like the bell peppers were a bit overwhelming though and the pickled spicier peppers were a bit skimpy. Though maybe that's just my preference. I also had some mozzarella added, but it wasn't a huge portion so I didn't notice it that much. Fries: Slightly spiced. Mildly crispy. It was fine, but the highlight was clearly the burger. Food does take a while to come out, but that's because everything feels like it is made fresh. Wow, I was blown away by the burger here...so good! I had the Izzy Truff Smash, which was such a unique and clever burger. I ordered this with 3 patties and it had yummy cheese with a nice crust by purposefully crisping the cheese on the grill! The bone marrow and juicy beef made this so decadent! Every once in a while, you come across something unique and interesting and my experience with their burger was definitely that...I will be visiting again for sure! read more
