Tamarind Hot Chicken, lumpia, calamansi mango drink
    Rey D.

They contain three essential ingredients to my heart: mochiko batter fried skin, chicken thighs (I think), and ancestral hospitality of the Philippines This ROCKED. My favorite type of fried chicken breading is that cornstarchy shell like Long John Silvers, but they achieve it with mochiko which is way better. My spicy profile myer Briggs identifies siracha/tobasco/tapatio similar to ketchup (not super spicy) and the tamarind chicken sandwich was similar heat. I am looking forward to the spicier one next go My buddy got the Manong chicken sando that I don't see on Google or DoorDash, but it had chicken and pork belly and holy s**t that sounds great. I tried alluding to him that I wanted a bite and he alluded back hard that he did not want to share

Tamarind Hot Chicken and a calamansi mango cooler

Izzy & Wooks just opened at Saluhall this week! I've been wanting to try them for a while.. since they were at the Metreon actually. And I got the opportunity this weekend. I got the tamarind hot mochiko chicken sando, and it was delicious! The chicken was incredibly juicy, and the breading was the perfect thickness and crispiness. I enjoyed the elote slaw, that also added a nice crunch. As far as flavor, it had pleasant tangy and citrusy notes from the tamarind oil, balanced by the acidity from the pickles. And the soft brioche bun tied it all together. The heat was mild as described on their menu. But I think I'm going to go for the scorpion next time. But if you can't tolerate heat at all, they do have their regular mochiko sando. I also got the mango calamansi cooler, and it was really refreshing and not too sweet. Service was friendly and I got my order quickly. I went here on a Saturday, so it was pretty quiet. There were a few groups of people meeting up either for work or to play RPGs. Izzy & Wooks is also at the Ferry Building Farmers Market. But check them out at Saluhall if you have the chance.

Grand reopening was yesterday and I missed it because I was so tired. So today I'm in to try it! Got the bbq chicken bowl mango Calamansi drink and it was what I needed to replenish my energy. I got it with all rice vs the rice salad mix. It had some red cabbage and beets, also a little cauliflower. Beets is something I never had with my Filipino dishes and I liked it. Innovative. The mango calamansi was super refreshing I might get another cup. I liked the tender chicken. Warm, freshly cooked, you can tell it was just made! Seems like staff are still being trained yet they are really friendly and doing great! Currently no line as it's slow at 4pm, but I bet it was busy here yesterday with the live dj. I see myself coming here again as I really like the chill vibe here people on their laptops locked in their projects etc. I'll most likely get this bowl again or when they come out with the jackfruit bbq bowl. I believe I tried this spot in the past when it was downstairs. Happy to be back!

Great sandwich! Bigger than I expected. Nice and crispy chicken topped with pork belly. Food came out relatively quick with no service issues. Nice, quiet food hall to take a break next to IKEA Definitely recommend

A few days now on yelp, Izzy & Wooks had earned its kiosk spot that replaced the vegan Mexican cafe neighbor inside Saluhall. It's fine to have Filipino burgers let alone lumpias. Before this food company moved from Westfield, Izzy & Wooks still going strong. Their lumpias were just as good as the ones from Sarap Shop! The entirety of Westfield of Market St, including its concourse food court, was completely wiped off clean due to financial crisis. And it's also scary to see some other businesses closing down due to their lack of customers. So other than Izzy & Wooks during the grand ceremonial opening, there's also Smish Smash, Cheezy Pizza, and Curry Up Now. Let's not forget IKEA next door that always provides their national dish such as the Swedish Meatballs! The bottom line is that we must support small local businesses to keep them running with still enough customers after shopping hours.

My family and I tried out this place which was tucked away inside IKEA's SALUHALL. At first glance on their menu everything sounds nice and looked reasonably priced, but I have to say some stuff were not worth it. Like their french fries when they arrived for instance $4 for a singular tiny small plate (sadly not pictured, as I was a tad bit disappointed) it wasn't like it was fancy or topped with anything it was just plain regular french fries and it was way too crispy like overly fried and tooth chipping. My husband and daughter got the Crispy Mochiko Chicken which tasted good again french fries serving super small like feeding a small child portion. Chicken sandwich was eh good. I had the Inay's BBQ Chicken Bowl it came with some green sauce that wasn't flavorful for me. The bowl I think presentation wise was aesthetically pleasing to look at but and it was fresh ingredients, but flavor wise it was a bit lack luster. Like please don't be afraid to season a bit more just a tad bit not too much. Service was nothing to complain about staff was cool and friendly. Will I eat here again no. Over priced and food was eh ok to me. Nothing wow that would bring me back it is very instagrammable though.

Sandwich has delicious ingredients that are sadly minimal in portion and drowned out by the bread. We visited their pop up at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on a Saturday and ordered their Ultimate Bacon and Egg. Sandwich was large enough to split between two and well priced. The bacon was especially delicious but the sandwich did not look anything close to the massive sandwich advertised on their menu. I ended up removing one of the buns to try to make the most of the ingredients. Sandwich could easily be 5 stars if they bulked up on the star ingredients.

    Ferry farmer's market, 6/28/25

This is an unusual business name, somewhat reminding me of Star Wars. My curiosity was piqued when they first appeared at the Saturday Ferry farmer's market (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=DdCsoRkEgmfFflrBSZ1ImA) in early July but had lunch plans for the ensuing visits. A few weeks later, I made a point to stop and try their food. Walking up a little after 10 am, an auntie took my order after I asked her for recommendations. I ordered a couple items, paid, and left my name and cell # for them to call me when my order was ready. Since I was finishing my shopping, I started on one item about a half hour later, having this as my breakfast. I tried the Izzy Truff smash burger (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=3VPyl15poNsKPu5dBbip8Q), described by this sign (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=XyRM5Fm__cvenvyxBJwbEQ). When I bit in, a smile grew on my mouth, an obvious sign of approval. The mix of ingredients were perfect as all of the flavors were balanced. I usually like my burgers on the juicy side but this was delicious. Here is a side view of my burger (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=BEfk9xGHthZZ4b0Tw45M_A). Besides that, I got the shiitake & black garlic arroz caldo (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=rUB2-O9Uiz4AiC_Od5ADKQ), described by this sign (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=7R0b-vfpZHlwRyoOFICFCw). Wanting to try it fresh, I tried a few spoonfuls as I had lunch at home a few hours later. Like the burger, the mix of ingredients made for a tasty hearty porridge, something akin to Chinese jook. The garlic was the dominant flavor as expected. I steamed the remaining portion the next day for lunch, a perfect pairing for me leftover cruller (fried Chinese bread) from that popular jook place in San Bruno from my Thursday lunch. There was shredded chicken for a texture change. I would get this again. The auntie was friendly and very nice in recommending my items. Looking forward to exploring other menu choices. Also learned that I can they have a brick and mortar a few blocks from my office in the Metreon on 4th Street. It's still more convenient for me to patronize the Ferry farmer's market since it's a lock on my weekly schedule.

Review was for their stall at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on a beautiful sunny Saturday. Solid 4 stars as it had a good flavor profile and was not messy as I was sometimes when ordering a Smash To-Go. 6 ounces of Ground Chuck and bone marrow was wrapped nicely and did not drip all over me when I was eating it. Will probably try their Filipino style fried chicken sandwiches of which one is posted as a spicy chicken.

Was expecting so much more than what I got. I was intrigued by a mango graham shake and their smash burgers with the grilled cheese skirt. But everything I got was a huge let down. The mango graham shake was icy, and the mango flavor wasn't the best and I didn't get any graham cracker taste as well. It was just oddly sour, which is strange since we're in mango season. The furikake fries tasted burnt and dry. And the burger was just a step above a Macdonald's cheeseburger. There was no crispy cheese skirt to speak of. Upon leaving I saw a mouse scurry away in the food court. Safe to say I won't need to revisit.

My boyfriend and I stopped by here because he wanted to try their Filipino burger. This place is inside SF Central/ Westfield (for the OG's) food court. We got the Izzy Truff Smash Burger as well as an order of lumpia. We also decided to toast? the cheese. I found the burger to be too greasy unfortunately. I'm not sure what made it Filipino exactly, I'm assuming the banana ketchup but it honestly tasted just like a regular burger with some sweetness added. The lumpia was also just ok, nothing to write home about. I would probably not come back here for that particular burger but maybe open to trying whatever else they have on the menu. The food court was overall clean, a bit empty sadly since I remember how poppin' this place used to be :(

This place is the new restaurant since the owners moved out of the Sony Metreon a while back. Nice decorations and it was featured my eater. There's a kiosk for ordering on a touch screen. The wait was super long but worth it. I was starving the whole day, but had the most delicious chicken sandwich with tamarind flavored sauce (Tamarind hot chicken sando). Yum! The fried were so-so. I had to ask for ketchup which they gave just about enough. The staff asked to open the Jaritos orange drink, they should have opened the hand more, I tried to get and cut my hand on accident. Would have been good if they open it all the way or put it in a cup or not opened it at all. I would come here again to try other dishes. A bit pricey but worth supporting a Filipino American owned business, they just need to speed up the service a bit.

Izzy & wooks location changed to the food court inside the mall. With almost all the same selection you can't beat their unique asian American fusion flavors! I tried their new mango graham milkshake and was impressed with the sweetness and slight crunch the graham crackers added to the milkshake. I came on a weekend and service seemed fine! I would say it did feel a little longer to get your food however it's because they make it for you right then and there while most other traditional food stalls have it already to order. Plenty of seating in the mall. It's a self order tablets (2) and you can either scan your QR code and receive text message alerts when food is ready.

The menu changes monthly, so even if I told you what we had, you probably wouldn't get the same dishes unless you book now lol. It's a 3-course menu with optional add-ons, and definitely unlike any restaurant I've been to before. Each of the dishes were deconstructions of familiar concepts such as Caesar salad and a California roll, but enhanced with new flavors. The mackerel was sublime, perfectly charred exterior with a still raw interior. The monkfish was tender, coated in a ginger, wasabi sauce next to crispy sweet rice and avocado. The dessert was by far the most unique, being a miso dashi, mushroom cherry coated coconut ice cream with a tupig-like mochi on the side. The service and ambiance are exactly what you'd expect from a tasty Asian restaurant. you will leave stuffed, satisfied, and already planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. If you know Filipino food, you already know. And if you don't...this is your sign to find out.

Really enjoyed this Filipino spot -- the portions are generous, the food is flavorful, and…read moreeverything came out fresh and satisfying. We ordered a couple of silog dishes along with the sizzling chicken sisig. One silog plate came with beef tapa (with the option of grilled or pan-fried) and chicken tocino, while the other included longanisa and pork tocino. Everything paired perfectly with their garlic fried rice, which was honestly one of the highlights of the meal. The sizzling chicken sisig was packed with flavor, and the portions were definitely enough to share or take leftovers home. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. I also noticed two different families order the lechon kawali and kare-kare, and both said those are their favorite dishes here -- definitely taking that as a recommendation for next time. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

From day one, I've always been greeted with such welcoming smiles and amazing customer service, to the point where they already knew my order lol. They're mostly known for their BBQ plates (which are definitely worth the hype), but honestly all of their food is amazing. I also used to visit their South City location when it was open, and the customer service there was just as kind and welcoming. Definitely one of my all-time favorite spots. Just remember to bring cash!

I ordered the BBQ chicken, BBQ pork, and pork adobo, and all were really enjoyable. The BBQ chicken skewer (9/10) was probably the standout. It had a nice sweet and tangy flavor, and the char added great depth. The BBQ pork (6.5/10) had a similar profile, but the meat was mostly fat, which made it less enjoyable. The pork adobo (8/10) was tender and came with a rich, savory sauce that paired perfectly with the rice. I also had the lumpia (7.5/10). They were super crispy but lacked much flavor in the filling. Still solid, but I've definitely had better. This is a great spot for Filipino BBQ and classic staples. I'd definitely order the BBQ chicken again while also trying some other items. There's a reason this place is so well known in the community for serving great, affordable food.
