Let me cut to the chase. I was kinda disappointed with this casual rotisserie chicken shop even though it comes from the team that owns Limon. In fact, I was quite forlorn having presumed this location of Limon was permanently closed. I liked the way they prepared their pollo à la brasa because the Peruvian-style chicken was consistently succulent. I'm guessing maintaining the quality and profitability of a sit-down restaurant has been economically challenging since this was not the only Limon that has closed. I was encouraged that they kept the space and reinvented it into more of a fast food/takeout operation replete with a cartoon chicken mascot and an animated mural along the northern side of the building. I came by in the middle of a weekday afternoon, so I wasn't ready to eat on the spot. I decided on a takeout order of the $21.95 Half Chicken Pollo à la Brasa with two sides. I think I overdid the starches and went with the Plantains and Yuca Fries. I only noticed afterward that I could've gotten salad or cole slaw instead. When I got home and started to eat, I was immediately disappointed that the chicken tasted overcooked with the breast piece particularly dry. That was too bad because the skin from the rotisserie had the familiar flavorful seasonings. The plantains were tasty albeit a bit oily, while I had to nuke the lukewarm yuca fries to bring them back to life (Photo 9). Next time, I'll time my arrival closer to lunch or dinner, so I can dine in-house. My hope is that the chicken will be closer to the quality level I recall from Limon. FOOD - 3 stars...sadly overcooked when I ate it at home AMBIANCE - 4 stars...the space itself is fine, much more casual SEEVICE - 3.5 stars...the staff was nice enough TOTAL - 3 stars...fast food version of Limon not quite there yet RELATED - Exploring the Mission? Brasa bros has been in my list of new restaurants to try specially because I love this style of chicken. I came for lunch and the place was fairly empty. The cashier was very nice and attentive and the location was very clean. I ordered a 1/4 chicken with yuca fries and fried plantains which is my go to order for similar restaurants. Unfortunately the plantains were old and had a weird taste to them(I couldn't finish), the yuca fries were nice and crispy but you only get a few so that sucks, the chicken was the smallest piece of chicken I've ever received at a chicken restaurant! Flavor lacked compared to other Peruvian chicken places and it was also very dry. For the price and food I wouldn't come back.

For months, Brasa Bros has been going hella hard on promoting and hyping the opening of their new shop. After all the teasing like the self-proclaimed "Carrie Bradshaw of San Francisco", today is the day! The owners (three brothers) of Limón have rebranded their SVN location into a fast-casual chicken shop. Open for takeout, indoor dining, and outdoor dining. M E N U Specialty: Pollo a la brasa - Peruvian rotisserie chicken. They also have salads, chicken tenders, loaded fries, and sides. Sauces available by the jar for purchase. Beer and sangria available. FYI, their $1 tender combo deal is from 5 pm - 7 pm today only. You have to take a selfie with their chicken mascot, post it on IG, and you'll receive a voucher. Visited for a late lunch. F O O D * Whole Pollo A la Brasa w/ choice of two sides ($34.95) Marinated with aromatic herbs and spices, the chicken is cooked over an open flame. The skin is slightly crispy and the meat is juicy except the breast that's dry. Not too salty which I appreciate. If you've had Limón's signature rotisserie chicken, it's the same thing. Served with a side of their creamy, tangy ají amarillo sauce. For sides, we choose their savory arroz chaufa (fried rice) and crunchy yuca fries. Wished they had tacu tacu (pan-fried rice and beans) on the menu. * Side: Two Chicken Tenders ($5.95 x2) - Brasa Bliss Sauce ($2.50) Hot and crunchy with a flaky crumb batter. Compared to the pollo a la brasa breast, the tender was moist. The brasa bliss sauce was delicious, low-key reminds me of a creamy honey mustard. But, $5.95 per a tender with no sauce included is steep! S E R V I C E Friendly and prompt (order at the counter or two kiosks). No line since we visited at off peak hours. A M B I A N C E Bright and eye-catching, you can't miss the storefront when driving through SVN. About a dozen tables inside with 4 sidewalk tables. P A R K I N G Difficult street parking. Overall, solid pollo a la brasa and a good option for those who eat at weird hours since they're open all day!

    Chaufa Crunch

5/5 - chaufa crunch was a very filling loaded fries bowl with tender chicken, fried rice, and fries. I was very impressed with how juicy the tenders were and the sauce was not overpowering. Proportions were well prepared. Highly recommend as a first dish introduction to this restaurant! Service was also very fast and you can choose different sauces if you ask. Relatively good seating availability and a fun place to grab lunch or dinner!

    The most satisfying meal ever!

I'm am so happy that the owners of Limon did not change a thing of their pollo la brasa. This is honestly the best chicken in the world.! Great ambience and music.

Would go back when in SF! They had fast service and clean bathrooms. I ordered the MONSTRITO. Which is your choice of 1/4 white or dark meat, fried rice and fries. It also comes with a side of Ají Amarillo which is not spicy and a nice flavor to it. The chicken was good! Fries were amazing! I will be sure to bring my Peruvian relatives here!

    $1 combo (grand opening)

I wish I took a picture of the combo but it was so chaotic on the opening night & it was totally worth it. I waited about an hour during opening night for their $1 combo of fried chicken + fries. As a new establishment, I thought they were very organized in the way they handled the long line & wait. By the time we got to the counter, we were immediately handed food, so they chefs were working quickly. We brought the take out combos home & gave it a try. The fried chicken was very crispy and juicy and the fries were delicious, in my opinion. The fries were like thick cut steak fries that most were crunchy on outside and soft on the inside but there were definitely ones that weren't crispy (which I like). The sauce that was given to us tasted very similar to chick fila and I'm so glad there is a place nearby now. I thought about getting a bucket and definitely will have to try it the next time I venture to brasa bros!

Like the new casual dine in concept versus the former Limon. Love Limon But loving a renewed focus on chicken items as a lot of times, people go to a Limon just for the chicken so this was definitely a positive change. The rotisserie chicken is really good. Flavorful and juicy. Crispy on the wings and skin. The sauces are a must have, get all 3. Wishes the sweet potato fries could be crispy...they didn't have bite...service is 1000%. The ladies checked on us consistently. The arroz chaufa sooooo good. Def coming back...

New roasted chicken spot - fast casual. I thought the chicken itself was cooked very well - tender and flavorful. The sauce they had was tasty as well. I would like to come back and try other menu items!

Tender meal with missing tender and sauce

I ordered through my work catering service, and ordered the three tender combo that was supposed to come with the three tenders, fries, coleslaw, sauce, and drink. I only received two tenders, the coleslaw, and drink. I didn't receive the sauce as advertised and am also completely missing a tender. I paid extra additional to get three tenders instead of just two. So I basically got scammed because I am missing two items, one tender and the sauce.

The food was so awesome. One of the best chicken spots I actually have tasted. I don't think I could ever eat rotisserie chicken the same, the sauce, the juicy chicken completes it all. The rice was perfect and fries finished it off well. The service was great, we got it for here but got takeout bags instead which was ok because we ended up taking it home. Ambiance was pretty chill wasn't anything too fancy more of a takeout or eat in fast food type of vibe. Definitely would recommend!

It took maybe 20 mins, which was perfect. now, it's show time. holy hell. my boyfriend RAVES about this place all the time, and we finally went as a pre-AYCE snack. it took all my strength to not change my mind to eat here instead. when I think of chicken wings, I think of 3 flavors on the spot: buffalo, lemon pepper, and garlic parm. never, in my big back days, did I think to combine buffalo with garlic-parm (in this case, garlic bacon parm). I couldn't even wrap my head around it before I ate it and while I was eating it. I have to confess that I don't even like buffalo, the tang and that feeling in the back of your mouth that makes you want to drink a full glass of water after? I always hated it. don't get me started on the color/the way it stains EVERYTHING. BUT THIS RIGHT HERE? screw my white shirt, I'll use it as a napkin for these wings. Serg idk who you are but you're my new hero. Plus the spice level? not crazy hot, maybe like hot cheetos level (the regular hot cheetos, but also the flavor is too good to care about the spice) Their ranch is also hella good, and I don't like ranch like that. This place is making me redact all my statements about foods I DON'T like. If that doesn't tell you enough, idk what will. we will 100000% be back for more than just a 5 piece. And this coming from someone who ate chicken and waffles at Lois the Pie Queen and Home of Chicken and waffles in Oakland (check those places out too). Back to K Soul Chicken though, I was one of the only people in there, there wasn't really anything that looked special about the place. Makes sense though because they have the sense not to waste the money on some foolish decorations and whatnot, and to instead spend it all on THAT CHICKEN. Don't judge a book by its cover. This chicken was perfect. Absolutely perfect. I love it so much. It was pricey (20 dollars for a serving) but it'll leave you super full, and I would have paid twice that for this. Perfect texture, perfect taste. It wasn't the spiciest gochujang so if you're korean maybe you'll feel different but I'm white with a medium spice tolerance so cut me some slack. To me, the flavors were perfect. I almost threw up because I didn't leave enough room for the meal beforehand. I walked out of there barely able to stand. With any other food I wouldn't have been able to finish it but this was perfect. To all the reviewers saying "I ordered the galbi and i thought the flavors were okay" OF COURSE because you didn't order the gochujang. I'm telling you, I know fried chicken, it's probably my favorite food. I've tried the worst of the worst (KFC and Safeway) to the best - which is K SOUL CHICKEN. I don't speak with authority on a lot of things but I'll rant about this because I loved the chicken that much. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Both times I've been there it's been nearly empty. This business deserves more. Bring your friends, order the gochujang, and prepare to be amazed by how incredible this chicken is. Perfect temperature. Perfect texture. Perfect taste of the chicken, the batter, and the sauce. Perfect spice (not overpowering or painful, but still spicy). Rooster & Rice is a chain with multiple locations serving up Khao Mun Gai (or Thai style chicken…read morerice), but my most recent order with them really fell flat. I ordered "The Original" with jasmine chicken rice, extra cilantro, cucumber, chicken skin (love that those are free add-ons), and an egg, and while the bowl was fine, all of the flavors felt like they could've been amped up several notches as everything leaned pretty bland and one note. I even swapped in the ginger scallion sauce, usually my favorite with Hainanese chicken, but it still fell flat and didn't bring the dish together the way I'd hoped. The dark meat was okay, if under-seasoned, but the breast meat was honestly pretty rough as it was extremely dry to the point where I was chasing each bite with water just to get it down. I added the chicken spring rolls as well, which were poorly wrapped and fell apart after a single bite, and they used the same overcooked white meat, making them basically inedible. If this is the standard for their white meat, I really think they should either stick to dark meat or make it clear that dark meat is an option without an upcharge. That said, my order was ready right when I expected it to be, pickup was smooth, and the staff were very nice and friendly, which keeps this from dropping lower in rating as I'm likewise hoping this was just an off night.
