I've been meaning to come back here for a meal after trying their umami fries, which are so delicious. This time we tried a pork belly rice bowl and a salad, to which we added pork again. Each dish had a small smattering of pork. Unfortunately for us, everything was fine except the pork, which was so incredibly dry and tough. There were also bits of pork skin which were not crunchy but chewy and tough. This pork was either so old or so overcooked it was almost inedible. Another possibility is that they had leftover pork and just kept reheating it instead of making a fresh batch. Not sure if we caught them on a bad day, but that was awful. read more

Delicious AND affordable? In San Francisco, that's pretty unheard of. I came here on my birthday and I LOVED my meal. The rotisserie chicken on my rice bowl was moist and flavorful and the rice was amazing, clearly cooked in some sort of salty broth/fat. The vegetables added the perfect balance and, although the chimichurri sauce was a bit cilantro-y for me, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I definitely want to try a different meat/sauce combination next time (as they have quite a few options for both). The fries were perfect, no notes. I don't even like fries that are thicker cut but these were delicious, crispy, and packed with flavor. My girlfriend didn't enjoy her chicken sandwich too much (picky) but I loved it. I thought the chicken was juicy, the fry was perfectly crispy, and the sandwich had a sweet honey flavor that added a delicious balance. My girlfriend wanted it plain so I would definitely try it myself next time with all the fixings. The lemonade was good, pretty standard (free refills though and they make sure to give them to you!). Super refreshing to see these prices in SF! The rice bowl was about $13, chicken soup $10.50, and roasted squash $7. Really filling as well. The rice bowl was amazing with all the herbs and chicken fat rice which was super flavorful. Very dynamic bowl with many flavors and textures, including pickled onions and radishes and shredded cabbage. The chimichurri sauce went super well with it. I just wish there was more chicken! I think it would've been fun if they had a more fall/winter version of the bowl with roasted veggies or something, which is why we got the seasonal veggie which was an incredible roasted baby butternut squash. It was dressed with this nice chipotle yogurt that was almost nutty like tahini. The soup was frankly ok.
