Chicken and rice, chicken and rice. The only thing you should get here. The rice is seasoned well, the chicken is moist and tender. It's a great place to take a break from work

Fantastic Mediterranean food to-go in Lower Pacific Heights. Opa cafe blends fresh Mediterranean with a relaxed dining atmosphere. The service was super quick and easy. I got the Beef Gyro plater. The beef was super flavorful, the tzatziki sauce was earthy and delicious, the salad was crunchy, lemony and light and the saffron rice was cooked perfectly.

Recently ordered the lamb shawarma hot plate, which comes with hummus and rice. It was plenty for two people to share and the food was delicious. Great value for the amount of food they serve. I have also had a sandwich in the past and also thoroughly enjoyed it.

We got to Opa Cafe during their lunch rush and it was busy! The cafe is cozy and nice, though it can get loud during lunch time with all the hustle and bustle. You place your order with the cashier and you can take a seat at a table or take your food to go. We opted to eat in while the food was piping hot! GRILLED LAMB KEBAB PLATE ~ Meat was juicy and tender though cooked more well than medium, rice was a bit too soft and soggy, hummus was watery and thinned out. They give you a generous portion, but I've had better. HUMMUS BOWL W/ CHICKEN SHAWARMA ~ as I said, hummus could have been much thicker, but chicken was tasty. We were disappointed with the textures. It could have been better if they were less heavy handed with the water. We usually aren't in this part of town and made a point to try them out. I guess it wasn't our cup of tea, while others seem to love them!

I've had my eye on Opa Cafe for quite awhile and yesterday was the first time I was able to visit and try their food. The cafe is set up for you to order at the counter and then take a seat and wait; they let you know when your order is ready and you pick it up at the counter...very casual. Most orders were takeout, so there were plenty of seats in their dining area. Everything is served in takeout containers, even if you want to dine in, so don't expect real utensils or plates and glasses. Now for the food: lots of options, so it was difficult to decide, but I went with the grilled beef kebob plate with salad, rice, and hummus ($16.95). It came out piping hot and nicely flavored, although I needed an addition of salt to bring the flavors out. I think it would've benefited from a nice squeeze of fresh lemon. The rice, salad, and hummus portions were great, but it was a little shy on the meat side. The salad also needed a bit more dressing for my taste, but I'm sure the amount of salt and salad dressing would've suited many others just fine. Service was pretty fast considering how busy they were. I was there at lunch time, so lots of folks from Kaiser were picking up lunch. The woman at the counter was really nice and friendly, too, so it was very pleasant. I would definitely go again when I can.

    Grilled Lamb Kebab Plate

Nice place. Sticky dirty table. Workers chatting standing around . Cleaned table myself. Got Grilled Lamb Kebab. Took 15 minutes, I was only one waiting. Got pretty looking plate. All was good except Lamb meat was bad, each piece different, only one soft juicy, rest either dry, hard, chewy...disaster. Overall this is parody on Mediterranean food place. This whole team has seemingly no clue what they are doing. But maybe other plates are better. I will not recommend this place for above reasons. Good luck.

I come here often since it's convenient and affordable. They have a huge selection including breakfast sandwiches, burgers and kebab plates. My go to: - hummus bowl with lamb shawarma (a bit greasy) - chicken shawarma plate - extra meat ($4-6)

    ROTISSERIE CHICKEN

This restaurant is what I look forward to when having my doctor appointments around the corner. The food never fails and always offer the same consistency taste which I look forward to in a restaurant. This place has always been my go to for the rotisserie chicken rice plate and service as always is great. Can't wait to come back.

So while I can't speak to in person service or decor the delivery is on point. My peachy salad was just ok. The chicken was cold and not crunchy, and the cornbread crumbles were not crunchy at all, like kind of in between stale and crunchy... weird combo. Peaches and pickled onions were awesome though. The dressings that it came with which were a bbq sauce and some type of special ranch also were a weird combo, glad it was on the side vs in the salad itself otherwise I'm not sure I would have eaten it. Crispy cauliflower was good but definitely not crispy at all! Probably got softer on delivery but definitely not something that should be advertised as crispy when it's not... The saving item was my carrot ginger agua fresca- this was amazing! Loved it, that gets a 5/5. Food is 3/5.

We also tried their Falaf 2.0 (salad) which is refreshing with some sweetness (grapes) and creaminess (avocado) combined with a zesty lemon tahini sauce. Really enjoyed the different flavors of agua fresca here. Spacious and clean interior with a cool SF landscape mural. Service was also friendly. Located on 9th Ave and Lincoln Way.

If you're craving something refreshing, light, and fruity, the Sonoma is a must. The pears take it to the next level and give it that perfect sweet, crisp bite that makes every forkful feel extra refreshing. It's the kind of bowl you order when you want to feel bright and satisfied. Now if you're in the mood for something warm, crunchy, and nutty, the Bangkok Bowl is your girl. The texture, the richness, the cozy vibes -- chef's kiss. It's hearty without being heavy and hits all the comfort-food notes. And can we talk about portions?! These bowls are NO joke. I swear I made a huge dent in mine, looked down thinking I was almost done... only to realize I basically still had a whole second meal left. Instant take-home win. On top of all that, the staff is super friendly, the space is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the whole experience just feels good from start to finish. I came for the seasonal menu but I'll definitely be back for everything else too. If you're debating what to order: Sonoma for fresh + fruity, Bangkok for warm + crunchy -- you truly can't go wrong!

The tables are a bit low and awkward to eat at, but the ambiance is immaculate. You can even get beer and wine here to complete the vibe. I will always love a MIXT salad. The ingredients are fresh, well-prepared, and fairly portioned. You can eat well and healthily and it's not unreasonably priced. I still mourn the loss of the green Goddess dressing... I came with a group of 7, and they were able to seat us pretty quickly. We ordered: A whole rotisserie chicken, the RTR Rice Bowl, the Chicken soup, the fried chicken sandwich, the seared broccoli, the rotisserie fat rice, and the shredded cabbage & almond. Best Dishes: The Rotisserie chicken and the Shredded cabbage & almond. The rotisserie chicken skin is really crispy and delicious, we were all fighting over who gets to eat the skin. The chicken is so juicy, it's really the best rotisserie chicken I've had. We understand why this place is so well regarded. The shredded cabbage is definitely the best side and we should've gotten another order, as we quickly finished ours and were basically licking the bowl clean. Worst: The rotisserie fat rice and the chicken soup. The rice was basically untouched and none of us wanted to eat it. It's ok, just falls short compared to the other sides. The soup was also ok, it's just a huge bowl and it felt like a waste stuffing ourselves with that when there were other better dishes. The rice bowl was pretty good, and is really good value. It's yummy and a good meal for 12.50. It's a very casual place, you order at the cashier and find a table and seat yourself there. Great for a quick lunch.
