I finally made it to Louie's Original during lunch this week. The food was great! I ordered the Little Louie combo ($14) which comes with a burger + fries + drink, but I substituted the fries for onion rings. My husband got the Big Louie combo ($17). The Big Louie is just a double patty, the Little Louie is a single. It was made to order and with an open kitchen, we were able to see our food being made. The star of the burger for me was their brioche bun - it was thick and fluffy. The only critic I have for the burger was that it was a bit messy to eat with the sauces and juices so make sure you eat over a tray or something or your clothes/pants will get dirty! I also really enjoyed their onion rings - thick and crispy battered! Lots of parking in the area, lots of tables in their dining area, and the price wasn't bad. Especially with the combos they offer, it's a good value for a well-rounded meal. We were full and satisfied. I'll be back.

I'm honestly really torn writing this because I initially loved this place. The food tasted amazing and the customer service was literally some of the best I've experienced. Everyone was so sweet, attentive and welcoming. They even brought my dog out a little treat which made the experience even better. Unfortunately a few hours after eating here I started feeling extremely sick. I've been throwing up constantly and dealing with nonstop bad diarrhea. It's been miserable. I've had it before so I know what it feels like. This was the only new food I had that day so I feel extremely confident that I have food poisoning

9.4/10 Absolutely an amazing burger. The patty was cooked perfectly juicy, flavorful, and paired with a soft, buttered brioche bun that was lightly crisped on the outside. The bun choice was spot on and really complemented the burger without overpowering it. The secret sauce was incredible unique, well-balanced, and added a ton of flavor to an already juicy burger. I added cheese and bacon, which I'd say is a must-try, though honestly the burger would still be great even without them. If I had to nitpick, I would've liked the patty to be slightly more seasoned, but that's minor since the sauce really makes up for it. Service was fast and efficient, even though the place was fairly busy. I also appreciated the self-serve complimentary water, which is always a nice touch. The ambiance was clean and casual, with a TV for sports, making it a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy a great burger.

Smells so good as soon as you're outside. Let me just say this place has given me the best onion rings I've had in my life thus far. The onion did not fall out like some places, it melted in my mouth along with the crispy edges. Burgers were so good the brioche bun is always a must for a good burger. We got some sodas & next time I def want to try their milkshakes! They also have seasonal milkshakes Food came out quick Even the fries were so soft and you could taste what they were cooked in so fresh. Service was quick and place was pretty clean! Tons of inside seating and outdoor seating. I'm def going to try their chicken next visit!

Four of us walked in to get burgers to go. It's a cute modern industrial space, yellow and black color scheme. We ordered at the counter. Fountain drinks and a selection of bottled craft sodas. Service was quick and efficient. We all liked our burgers and the fries were perfectly cooked lightly salted. We will be back for shakes and frozen custard.

Louie's Burger was decent overall. The patties were okay but could've used a bit more seasoning to really stand out. The fries were great though--crispy and satisfying. The interior has a really nice vibe, and the staff were friendly, which made the experience better. Solid spot, just a few tweaks away from being really good.

I had lunch here on a Saturday, and surprisingly there was no wait and the place wasn't busy at all. I ordered the burger with cheese and bacon, and it was seriously delicious, super juicy and full of flavor. It's a pretty classic burger, just without tomatoes, but I honestly didn't even miss them. For sides, we got the onion rings and waffle fries, and both were cooked really well! It was crispy, hot, and perfect for snacking on the side. The chicken tenders were dry. I'd recommend to skip them. Overall, a great spot for a solid, satisfying meal. I'd definitely come back!

Reminds me a bit of Super Duper, with fancy fast casual burgers, fries and shakes. Seemed like quite a neighborhood favorite. While I liked all the choices for fries and shakes, the burgers seemed a bit dry. Big Louie w/ American Cheese: It was indeed big! Quite filling with lots of beef and American cheese. Nice flavors. Though seemed a bit dry. Maybe they were skimpy on the sauce? Maybe it was cooked a bit too much? Maybe there wasn't enough fat % in the patty? I'm not a burger scientist, so can't conclude why, but I do know that Super Duper has a nicer moisture balance to it. Waffle Fries - Make 'Em Messy: There were indeed messy! Loved how creamy these were with herbal cilantro and some spicy kick. Plus the waffle fries texture is fun. Much more exciting that garlic fries! Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake: It's like a dessert, rather than a drink. Pretty thick. Nice and creamy with fresh strawberries. Liked the shortcake texture.

We were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The place was clean and had a warm, welcoming vibe. It's a counter-order spot, so you order first and then find your own seating. It was pretty busy around lunchtime, but tables started to open up after a short wait. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but the food spoke for itself--it was really good. The onion rings were a bit too greasy for my taste, so I'd probably skip those next time. We ordered one Big Louie combo, one lil' Louie combo and a fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries and sweet potato fries. We all agreed the burgers were solid, and the fries were just as good. Overall, I'd rate it a 8/10.

Got the Little Louie and regular fries and a mango hard kombucha. My boyfriend got the Big Louie and onion rings. The buns are thick here, most of my bites comprised of bun but it is quality! The fries were really good (think In N Out but better), but the onion rings were a bit too thick for my liking. The mango kombucha was citrusy but I'd like to see more drinks on the menu and seating is a little tight when big groups are in line. Went here for a concert nearby at bottom of the hill and would go back if I'm in the neighborhood again! Solid neighborhood burger joint

Louie's is that neighborhood joint that you grab a burger at. It's easy to get to, and parking isn't awful. The burger is pretty tasty. I normally don't order lettuce, but felt like something fresh, and they loaded me up with the produce. It wasn't clear of a single patty was gonna be super thin like a smash burger or not so I ended up ordering a double which for me was a lot, but the two patties pretty much equal a good size burger. The burger was tasty, could've used a little bit more seasoning, and overall I would say it's a pretty decent burger. The real winner... The waffle fries! Usually not my jam, but these were perfectly made, perfectly seasoned and super tasty! I originally wanted to order the sweet potato fries, but apparently they're not on the menu any longer. The person that I ordered from said that they hadn't seen them before. Other helpers have posted pictures, which is why I was all about wanting to try them. I opted to try ( got it to go) the banana shake, which was thick, rich, and just that taste that I was looking for. I'm all about the chocolate, but I wanted to try something different, and they add fresh banana to the shakes which really makes it special. They also add graham crackers, which I wasn't really a fan of . I'm more of a purest, and would've enjoyed it just as is. The shakes are pretty pricey just as a sidenote. The restaurant is really clean, the tables are kept clean, and it makes it comfortable to sit and enjoy a meal.

Pic of the inside. The cashier was very pleasant and she recommended the special which was delicious

We were on vacation in San Francisco and my husband found this place. It was sooo good. We would be in trouble if we had one in OC. Everything we ordered was delicious. The spicy chicken sandwich, the burgers, onion rings and fries. Staff is friendly and the ambiance was good. Definitely recommend it.

In researching places near where we were staying, we learned about the Italian deli and shop. We were looking forward to stopping by to check out the store and grab lunch. The store itself is very cute and charming, full of so many items - fresh meats and cheeses, imported olive oils, pastas, desserts, wine, and liquor to name a few. There is an area where you can get coffee drinks and there is a deli area for ordering sandwiches, pizzas, specialty dishes, and salads. The variety of options is plentiful. I ordered an iced coffee beverage, which was great. My significant other and I ordered a sandwich to go, which we were splitting for a light lunch back at the hotel. The person helping at the counter was not very friendly or helpful with questions. We asked for our sandwich to be made on the Dutch Crunch bread, as we were looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, when we got back to the hotel, it turned out that the sandwich was made on a regular ciabatta roll, which was not fresh. Additionally, the sandwich was mostly mixed greens. For the price, I expected more meat. With so many great food options in San Francisco, it is likely we won't stop by on future visits to the City.

They're showing off their wares, flashing pristine teeth, and parading around in an endless convoy of BMWs, Mercedes, and Bentleys. It's a neighborhood where absolutely everything--from the cold-pressed juice to the real estate--has a heavy, unapologetic price tag associated with it. But we didn't come for the gloss. We came for soul. We came to find refuge in our ultimate comfort food at Lucca's Delicatessen. Walking through that door isn't just stepping into a shop; it's stepping into a Time Machine. My order never changes -- it's the Liverwurst on marble rye, dressed simply with a little tomato, mayo, and crisp lettuce. Yesterday, you might have been chasing whatever trendy sandwich they're slinging down at Lettuce, but today is about tradition. My wife goes for the Caprese sandwich with prosciutto--a beautiful, classic combination. For me, though, the magic happens on the very first bite. As soon as I crunch into that rye, the Marina melts away. I am a five-year-old boy again, sitting down with my mother at a long-lost lunch counter, just purely enjoying life. My wife knows this ritual; she sees the look on my face and she approves. That right there is the exact reason we come here. It's why we are willing to stand crammed together in that inhospitable, notoriously narrow line that hungry San Franciscans have been enduring since 1929. Dear God, think about that: it has been almost a century in existence. If you haven't tried it, maybe you should. Take a break from the shiny facade outside, step into the narrow line, and order something real. It will become a part of your DNA, just like it has permanently become a part of mine.
