Phenomenal Organic Soft Serve at the Ferry Building! We stopped by Gott's Soft Serve at the SF Ferry Building location and were absolutely blown away. If you are looking for high-quality, flavorful organic treats, this place is an absolute must-visit. I got the Valley Ford Salted Caramel ice cream in a cup, and it is hands down one of the best I have ever had. The texture was absolutely perfect, and the balance of the rich caramel flavor and sweetness was heavenly. My son ordered the Straus Organic Dutch Chocolate in a waffle cone and enjoyed it a lot. My daughter went with the Straus Organic Vanilla with sprinkles in a cone, and she loved it just as much. You can really taste the quality of the premium organic ingredients they use. It was overcast in SF on Saturday. I tried this burger spot for the first time. I rarely have American-style burgers normally, but this one felt really unique. Their bacon is cooked slightly crispy and charred, which I think is meant to give it a nice crunch. The beef patty is super thick, and one whole burger was a little too filling for me. The fries are topped with a special kind of thin chives, and they taste amazing with ketchup. It's a bit hard to find if you walk through the mall. I ate here again for the first time in a couple years and was a much bigger fan this time around. I got the monthly special chicken Parmesan sandwich and it was great! The sandwich was massive and kinda hard to eat, but overall it met all my expectations. I do think their fries and some of the other items are a bit bland, but the sandwich was a standout to me. The cheeseburger was very good-super tasty-solid value-pretty spicy-it had Anaheim Chile,jack cheese,jalapeño mayo-I liked it quite a bit-I would order it again for sure.The Garlic fries were well made,they were doused in some serious garlic butter-very tasty. This place features a pretty extensive beer and wine menu,though we didn't get to indulge on that part of the menu on this trip-good to know they had solid options available.I also noticed that they offered a pretty good shake and soft serve menu-which I also didn't partake in,but I'm sure I would've enjoyed it. We stopped by for soft serve after a Giants game so the line was long but service was quick. Two vegan options: oat milk vanilla and oat milk chocolate. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came to the Ferry building to do all the tourist things and saw straus vanilla ice cream being sold. I bought a gallon of the straus milk earlier that day and loved the taste. Fortunately there wasn't a big of a line and we got a cone of the vanilla ice cream. Super creamy and decadent. I'd have two if it wasn't a sin to have two. Gott's also sells burgers which didn't sound too appetizing but I do recommend the ice cream. They're very generous with the peanut butter chips throughout the cookie and they have a deep, natural flavor. They almost taste like they were homemade with real peanuts and minimal added sugar, which is way better than those artificial and super sweet peanut butter chips you can find in some other desserts. Gott's cookies are quite well done. 4) TURKEY CALIFORNIA BURGER (3/5) Overall was good and I appreciated the turkey burger option if you want to feel ~healthy~ eating a burger and desserts. That being said, I think the sandwich overall lacked moisture given the patty was dry and the buns didn't help. Maybe more sauce, or a runnier egg, or a slice of tomato could have helped. 5) REGULAR FRIES (2/5) I can't recommend these. Very dry and not that crispy, though we did get this delivered so I assume these taste better fresh. However, Gott's has plenty of other fantastic sides so it's no problem if the regular fries aren't perfect! ------ ENVIRONMENT We got our order delivered but I've been to the physical location in the Ferry Building countless times. They have a huge space with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The menu said burger was okay but nothing different from other places. It wasn't. There really is t service since you order from the counter and pick up your own tray from the counter. Why do these foo places ask for a service tip when it is all counter service? Does anyone know? You get your own ketchup and pick up your food from the counter. The ambiance is an open burger place. I came back to Gott's to eat their actual food. You order at the cashier and receive a pager that will alert you when your food is ready. There are lots of tables inside, although most of them are high tops. So if you have young kids, your better option will be the big benches outside. Luckily it was a nice day so we chose to sit outside and people watch. There are self serve condiments and water available. Our food order took about 15 minutes to come out. Our family got an order of the gruyere and caramelized onion burger, a kimchi burger on lettuce wrap, a kids cheeseburger, and a kids mini corn dogs (comes with 6). The kids meal come with fries and your choice of lemonade, water, or fountain drink. In general, the food was well cooked and everyone was a fan of the taste and texture. I, however, was pretty disappointed with my kimchi burger. I thought the gochujang sauce made things overly salty and there was too much of the sauce in relation to the rest of the burger. Gochujang sauce can be a pretty bold flavor so the ratio of it should be less. And because I chose to get a lettuce wrap for my burger, there was nothing to soak up the sauce so it ended being a giant mess to eat and got everywhere. read more

Most of the time, the cashiers are good but a few times, I've had issues with ordering. One time, I asked to confirm that my Caesar Salad would have chicken and no croutons but the guy did the opposite because I was handed a salad without chicken and had croutons. No biggie because there's a particular female food expeditor who is always there and she's great! Anytime I've had a problem with my order, she fixes it quickly. On my recent visit, I had ordered a veggie burger with a gluten free bun and she buzzed me over to explain that the veggie patty had gluten and offered me the Impossible burger which didn't have gluten. I didn't even see that they offered the Impossible burger as an option but I did tell the cashier I had a gluten allergy so I'm not sure why he didn't then let me know about the Impossible patty. I'm really glad she reached out. The Texas Avocado Burger with an Impossible patty was delicious! My husband had the Green Chile Cheeseburger and my son had a regular Cheeseburger, both with Impossible patties because we were not eating meat that day.
