Gott's in the Ferry Building is a decently priced and tasty place to eat in San Francisco. Although it takes longer than some of the quick food places inside, everything is prepared fresh, and arrives hot. I ordered the Asado Fish Tacos, and my husband order a Western Bacon Blue. Both were delicious. My only complaint was that the orange slices were too big and kept falling off. Lines can be long, and it's noisy by design, but if you want tasty food for a reasonable price, I recommend it.
Quality/Quantity - Finally able to get together with our friends in SF. We all live such busy lives. Cubano Special - My order; this was good, good flavors, good mustard. AvoCitrus Salad - Our friend's wife is even more of a healthy eater than us. Asado Tacos - My wife's choice. Looked better than it tasted, but still good. Ahi Burger - Good, with generous tuna. Overall the quality was good. But I prefer your Napa location. Well it might also have to do with visiting the wineries, lol. Ambiance - Good size location. Indoor and outdoor seating. Clean with an open kitchen. Service - Self service kiosk, counter service and self pick up. Self service water, utensils, cleaning our own tables, etc. Not sure why I even tipped... Price - Expensive, you are paying for location, location, location. But it is so easy to ferry in from Alameda Island to visit our good friends. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1999 with your 9+ locations. We are customers at TOO many of your locations. Look forward to visiting your Santa Monica 10th location after you open it.
I went to Gott's for a lunch with my wife and friend. We had a very enjoyable time - there was a line but it moved quickly. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating which I appreciated. And they also have a good menu with many different types of burgers, chicken tenders. I also enjoyed the charbroiled taste of the burger, plus their fries are pretty good. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're ever around. You can take sometime to walk around the ferry building before or after your meal too.
Weekday line wasn't long and we found some tables outside to sit at. I had a few modifications on my order and everything came out correctly. Little bit of a wait but the place was quite busy. The staff was so kind and patient with everyone. Food hit the spot and everyone at the table devoured their food. Been to a few Gott's before but the patio was lovely!
Ive become a repeat customer and its for good reason. A versatile environment where I can have a beer or a milkshake and be with friends, family, or co workers. Gott's has it all! Situated in the Ferry Building it has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating compared to other restaurants in the area. It has a extensive food menu from which to choose from AND cool people. Prices range in the typical amount but overall I love it! Check them out!
OMG you have got to get these crispy chicken tacos before they're gone forever. Hit up the ferry building in SF and snag this limited time special. Chicken was perfectly crispy and was packed with a serious flavored punch. I sure hope Gott's makes this item a permanent staple in their menu. The location is fabulous where you chill outside with that killer waterfront view of the city that never gets old. It's a perfect backdrop for you to stuff your face with these tacos. Even though the Ferry Building can be a total madhouse, the crew here had the food out scary fast which makes Gott's a perfect place to grab lunch.
Solid neat spot along the Embarcadero. Service was super fast and I appreciated they had so many folks working the counter that day and making it a smooth order. I had the veggie tacos which were a bit dry (could have used more salsa) but tasty at the same time. I loved getting to sit outside and people watch and have a great snack and local beer. I'll be back!
I went to Ferry Fest today and my friend and I decided to get an early dinner before the last band started. The long line was expected but it went fairly quickly. The woman at the counter was really friendly. I used to work retail and dealing with customers, even at the start of the shift, can wear you down pretty quick. So I gotta give props to her for being positive during this very busy day. I got the crispy hot honey chicken tacos, which is one of this month's specials. It came with delicious sweet corn, cabbage slaw, chipotle mayo, and a cilantro-lime crema. It's basically the flavors of elote with fried chicken and it yummy! The breading on the chicken was even and crisp. And I enjoyed the spicy-sweet flavor of the honey, which complemented the chipotle mayo. I also enjoyed the crunch from the cabbage and the softness of the flour tortilla. I paired with it the fried Brussels sprouts to get another veggie into my meal. Though I do love very charred sprouts, there was a hint of bitterness. I may have needed more lime to cut that. The jalapeño mayo was good. But I think tossing it in pork fat is the way to go with Brussels sprouts to really pump up the flavor. I'm not sure what oil they fry it in. I think I'll stick to their sweet potato fries, which never disappoints. It's always busy there, but it's never too difficult to find a place to sit. It's shared seating, with long tables inside and large tables outside. But my friend and I took it to go so we can have dinner with the show. And the timing was perfect - we didn't wait too long to get our order and we arrived about 20mins before the band started. The quality of Gott's has been consistent over the years across their locations. So it's a tried and true place to get a delicious meal.
Closer to a 3.5 rating than anything else. The line for this spot on a weekend afternoon looked manageable but the wait ended up being longer than anticipated. They had 3 or so workers but the setup didn't look conducive to getting through orders quickly, with essentially one person just stationed at the iPad to charge customers. Would have been a higher rating if service was a bit faster & better but still a decent spot I'd revisit. The shop is in the iconic Ferry Building so lots to eat & shop around the area. I had the organic vanilla soft serve with a kid's cone & it was delicious, perfectly creamy & great portion size. Prices are about what you would expect in SF. I would come back to try their dairy-free vanilla soft serve!
Even though they were swamped, they were super speedy! Delicious!!!! I am a creature of habit and always order the exact same thing when we come.... Salted Caramel in a waffle cone.
Soft serve ice cream. Tried their Straus Vanilla and can definitely stand behind Strauss quality! Will have to come back and try some other flavors. For a little sweet treat, it is not a bad price as most places! Check it out! Also note, they have a "Soft Serve" booth that is completely separate from the restaurant! I have not tried their burgers, but will give it a try at some point.
One of the things we really liked about this place was the nice bar next to it. They had a good selection of wines by the glass, including Rombauer Chardonnay, and the pricing was actually very reasonable. The burger was very full and generously packed with ingredients. The chicken nuggets portion was surprisingly large, and the fries were also very tasty. It was also one of those rare beautiful sunny San Francisco afternoons. Usually whenever we visit the city, the weather is cloudy, so being able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine made the experience even better. The only small negative thing I would mention is that the wait time felt a bit long even though it did not seem overwhelmingly crowded. But honestly, I can understand it, maybe because they prepare everything carefully and fresh. Would I come back again? Absolutely.
Gott's Roadside has a soft serve ice cream shop located at the Ferry Building, offers a delightful combination of cookies and ice cream. As a loyal customer, I make it a point to visit Gott's on my way back home, especially when I crave my favorite flavor, Salted Butter Caramel. While the prices may be a bit steep for ice cream, at $5.95 per scoop, the quality and taste are simply unbeatable.

Hubby & I's new baseball game tradition is grabbing food from Gott's! If you ask, they'll even put your food in boxes, which makes it so easy to bring to the game! There was about a 20-30 minute gap between getting our food and actually eating it, and everything was still warm and really delicious! The fries were a little soggy, but that was completely our fault lol. The workers were working so hard and kept apologizing for the wait, but honestly, the wait was totally reasonable considering how many customers they had. Everyone was so friendly and doing their best to keep things moving! Mini edit: Totally forgot to mention that their icecream is one of our favorites & deserves 5 stars alone!!! read more
Maybe I caught them on an off day or maybe it's psychological, but I feel that this location of the famous Gott's doesn't live up as highly as the Napa area locations. The food felt like it wasn't as good, but the main thing here was the wait times when we went. Compared to high traffic times that we visited their sister locations, this SF one was much longer in wait. That's fine, but something to be flagged. Staff here felt a bit more apathetic than their counterparts at other locations, but that's the city lifestyle for you. Tables were left dirtier/less frequently cleaned than other Gott's locations. There is a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. The combination of these different things unfortunately brings the experience to be a bit less enjoyable to the fun that the Napa area ones have. read more
I've been to this Gotts multiple times over the years. It's likely my least fav Gotts. The ones in Napa make burgers that taste so much better. The onion rings are quite good here. My Arnold Palmer didn't taste right either. A bit too tart and not sweet enough. As for the cheese burger, didn't have the grill smoky flavor I'd expect. This was my 1st time at Gott's. The line was long signaling a popular place so I expected the food to be worth the wait, but surprisingly the line moved swiftly and our order was ready fairly quickly. The bugers, fries, sweet potato fires, onion rings and fried green tomatoes we shared were all excellent and the outdoor patio on a pleasant SF day was a nice treat. All of our staff interactions were appropriate and the service during our time there was friendly. read more
It was overcast in SF on Saturday. I tried this burger spot for the first time. I rarely have American-style burgers normally, but this one felt really unique. Their bacon is cooked slightly crispy and charred, which I think is meant to give it a nice crunch. The beef patty is super thick, and one whole burger was a little too filling for me. The fries are topped with a special kind of thin chives, and they taste amazing with ketchup. It's a bit hard to find if you walk through the mall. You have to exit through one door first, then head back in to get to the restaurant. read more

I ate here again for the first time in a couple years and was a much bigger fan this time around. I got the monthly special chicken Parmesan sandwich and it was great! The sandwich was massive and kinda hard to eat, but overall it met all my expectations. I do think their fries and some of the other items are a bit bland, but the sandwich was a standout to me. I will also say the soft serve deserves a review of its own - this is some of the best soft serve I've ever had and I truly get it almost any time I go to the ferry building. Food is an excellent value for the area. $35 for my husband and I to get burgers and a fry. (I got a double cheese burger and he got a hamburger). Bun was an excellent brioche with tons of cheese. I loved the pickles and sauce. I'd prefer a medium rare but understand medium is the go-to in a fast food setting. This IS fast food but elevated by the quality. Easy outdoor seating with a water station perfect for the walking we do along the Piers. Four stars because the patio is open and on the sidewalk so it's got an odor that isn't pleasant. We went inside to eat but the patio would be good for having a cold beer and people watching. Service is adequate for a quick burger spot. read more
THE HOT SAUCE was peak! Dropped by for lunch on Tuesday. The line was short and moved fairly quickly despite the peak lunch hours. What we got: - Chicken Schnitzel ~ Very photogenic. Huge piece of fried chicken breast. Beautiful and colorful, but lacked flavor. Although the generous amount of Arugula was a plus, it overpowered the burger. I ended up eating that first to get my veggies in. The pickled turnips/radish added nothing but color. Halfway through, the burger felt dry and flavorless. The hot sauce came to the rescue! - Western Bacon Blue Ring ~ Solid burger. Juicy burger. Bbq sauce added the perfect tang to balance the blue cheese. Crispy onion rings were a great touch! - Onion Rings ~ MASSIVE. Crunchy on the outside, well-battered rings on the inside. One of the rings was three rings coated and stuck together, which was a decent surprise! - Chili ~ Decent. Very cheesy. All in all, a solid place. But the hot sauce was a gem! Good spot for an easy lunch in the Ferry Building area. * Staff at register was unfriendly but took our order quickly. * Kitchen had our orders out quickly & were glad to have beat the weekday lunch rush. On a recent trip to San Francisco,after a beautiful ride on the Vallejo Ferry I found myself a little hungry so I decided to stop by Gott's Roadside for a quick lunch. This is the kind of place where u walk up to the counter and order off of a menu on the wall-Today after looking over the really good menu,I went with the Green Chile Cheeseburger ($10.99) & Garlic Fries ($3.99). The cheeseburger was very good-super tasty-solid value-pretty spicy-it had Anaheim Chile,jack cheese,jalapeño mayo-I liked it quite a bit-I would order it again for sure.The Garlic fries were well made,they were doused in some serious garlic butter-very tasty. This place features a pretty extensive beer and wine menu,though we didn't get to indulge on that part of the menu on this trip-good to know they had solid options available.I also noticed that they offered a pretty good shake and soft serve menu-which I also didn't partake in,but I'm sure I would've enjoyed it. In closing-if u ever find yourself in San Francisco near the Ferry Building and looking for a solid spot for a good lunch-I would fully recommend Gott's Roadside-good eats and a fun lively environment-what more can you ask for. read more

Boys wanted some ice cream after lunch and this was the perfect spot before we headed out. One had a medium salted caramel in a waffle cone and the other had a small vanilla in a cake cone. Both really enjoyed the ice cream and friendly customer service. read more

stopped by gott's ferry building for lunch with a group, the vietnamese chicken salad was surprisingly good and the fried chicken paired well with the rest of the salad and the dressing! super crunchy and flavorful. the fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and impossible nuggets were all delicious as well. i would recommend ordering ahead and going to eat there! the ferry building location has nice ambiance especially with the open aire seating. would definitely go back for some classic american fare! read more

THE BIG: This Gott's location is inside the Ferry building of San Francisco. No seating as it's mainly order to go type fare. Limited parking, rideshare is the best way to get here. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came to the Ferry building to do all the tourist things and saw straus vanilla ice cream being sold. I bought a gallon of the straus milk earlier that day and loved the taste. Fortunately there wasn't a big of a line and we got a cone of the vanilla ice cream. Super creamy and decadent. I'd have two if it wasn't a sin to have two. Gott's also sells burgers which didn't sound too appetizing but I do recommend the ice cream. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall for a cone of the vanilla straus ice cream, the damage done was around $5. Ice cream was super delicious and def be back to try more stuff. read more
Gott's satisfied my craving for chicken tenders and fries on a cold, SF day. On Friday at noon, the line was going by fast to order so we didn't have to wait long at all. The staff is always so kind and helpful! At this time, there were still seats both inside and outside. It was a beautiful day with plenty of families eating here at the time. It took about 10-15 minutes for the food to be ready to pick up at the counter. The chicken tenders had a nice crunchy texture and I loved the teriyaki sauce that it was brushed in. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy - these were delicious to dip into the sauces. You can't go wrong with Gott's as there's always so much to try! read more

Although I'm not a hamburger person, Gott's really impressed me with their Gruyere & Caramelized Onion Burger. Not only was the patty cooked medium rare without telling them, but the hamburger did not fall apart while I was eating it. Moreover, there is a special ketchup packets that you can season your hamburger with. read more

The meat was seasoned nicely but lacked in quality. The taste from the onion , bacon , eggs. Gave me a nice Gushing of flavors. The fries was fried perfectly. Nice and Crunchy. Seasoned nicely. However it taste more like garlic oil on the fries than actually garlic. Personally I like my garlic fries with nice minced garlic on top. Smell: The Fries smelled delicious. Nice strong garlic aroma. Presentation: Okay. Nothing Special. Additional Comments: I was walking around the Ferry Building. I happen to be craving a burger. Overall Rating : 3.5 read more
