I finally got to the Smish Smash recently when we were walking by Market St and craving a burger. I had heard great things about their smashburger and as we just wanted a taste we ended up sharing a wow single burger. Love the crispy smashed burger patty which has a nice char on it. They use 100% grass fed and grass finished beef which is amazing and you can really taste the quality in it. The wow burger comes with Swiss cheese, pickles and a mix of mayo and relish. I added ketchup to it for extra flavor and while it's simple, it's really well done. The combo of the meat and soft burger bun is really satisfying. Overall I don't know if I would call it a meal but definitely a nice treat!

Cheesebouga! Excellent! Juicy, so delicious and the pickle killed it. And the banana pudding!!!! Big hit! Enjoy!

We visited Smish Smash inside IKEA, and the ambiance was nice, clean, and welcoming. The location is convenient, especially if you're already shopping there. We ordered the Signature (vegan) burger and the OG, and both were good. The grilled onions were absolutely amazing and added a lot of flavor to the burgers. My only suggestion would be to offer fresh jalapeños instead of pickled ones, as I think they would complement the burgers even better. The burgers were tasty, satisfying, and reasonably priced. We also tried the banana pudding, which was enjoyable and made for a nice sweet ending to the meal. Overall, a solid burger spot with good food, fair prices, and a clean atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!

Was in the area around lunch, so I had to go see what the hype was all about. Smish Smash is located in Saluhall, the newish food hall that is connected to IKEA. It's convenitly located on the first floor right inside the window, so you can miss it. There were a couple other food vendors down there, including a full bar, and they were playing some World Cuo matches, which was a nice touch. Making a burger choice was tough, but I went with the double OG, which did not let me down. The lace was crispy, and the flavor combination of the ingredients was perfect. It was a top smash burger in the bay, and I'd def go again if in the area.

We ordered a Reggie Miller and small curly fries. The burger was tasty and the fries were hot and crispy. Satisfied my burger craving.

I know this place is known for their smash burgers but when I got there I saw they had a daily special of a fried chicken sandwich and had to try that out. And I'm glad that I did. The chicken's crispyness was perfect and juicy. I also ordered shoestring fries which were also crispy. It was all made to order which was great since it wasn't sitting under a heating lamp. This is definitely a great food spot to check out in Saluhall food court.

Visited on a Saturday night around 6pm with a friend, wasn't too busy only 3-4 ahead of us. Plenty of open seating at Saluhall. Food: Vic Mac Jr. - ordered with a single beef patty, this came on a soft pillowy bun that had a subtle sweetness, beef patty was smashed thin and crispy with a wide lacey skirt nice beefy flavor with great mailard browning but ate a touch dry, generous amount of shredded lettuce which added a fresh lightness to the burger, pickles added a nice tang, raw onions added a touch of spice, sauce was creamy and American cheese added the melty gooey richness The OG - took a bite of my friends and prefered this a little over Vic's the fresh tomato added a nice added a juiciness which was a nice touch Curly fries - good, fried nice and crispy, well seasoned, pretty standard flavor Service was good, quick easy order at the counter, they provided a buzzer that rings when food is ready for pickup, water cups provided as well and ketchup and napkins were self serve. Overall a solid spot for a smash burger in the downtown area. Worth a try if you like thin and crispy patties.

Came right when they opened (which was the perfect time imo). Parking was difficult to find initially - but after circling around a few times, I realized there is a garage in the same building. Now to the best park...the food! Easily one of the best smash burgers I've had in the bay. I got the cheeseboiga single. Shoe string fries had the best crisp. And take it from me - please don't skip the banana pudding! Service was prompt, and met with a smile. She was patient while we took a while to decide our order. Also, keep a look out for specials. I noticed the special signs right after i placed my order. Food also came out just as quickly. I hope they add more food spots in this food hall! Ambiance is modern, clean. (And there's a Photo Booth!) we will be back!!!

Really cool business with good variety of smash burgers. They got a good chat on them and the trade mark lacy edges you'd expect from a smash burger. They seem to be the only business left running downstairs at this time so there's lots of seating available. Wish their box came with a drink or something paid like $25 for a box with the special at the time. Prolly can't frequent them at that price. Outside is expectedly gross unless there's an event that caused SF to clean up recently. easy parking validation if you spend $25 in ikeas food hall.

"Smish Smash I was taking a bath, long about a Wednesday night, yeah!!!" Okay I'm no Bobby Darin, but I am quite the aspiring burger aficionado and the smash burgers being handcrafted at Smish Smash are some of the best and most affordable in the entire city of San Francisco! And when Food & Wine Magazine calls this burger one of the most exciting in the U.S., I for one was implored to take notice and visit! Located on the first floor of Saluhall on Market Street in downtown San Francisco next to the IKEA store, Smish Smash started as a pop-up six years ago by owners Am y Han and Victor Donado. Just last year they opened their first stand-alone location on the first floor of Saluhall, which to be quite honest has struggled to keep their other vendors open. Thankfully, Smish Smash has had the benefit of being on the first floor with a view of Market Street, not to mention a great word of mouth thanks to their exceptional smashed burgers that has not only many burger lovers coming in, but quite the number of delivery drivers coming in to pick up burger orders galore. What brought me here to Smish Smash was the fact that a friend and I had theatre tickets at the nearby Golden Gate Theatre and we decided that we needed something quick and delicious before we walked back to the theatre to sit for almost three hours of a show. They suggested that we try this amazing and fun burger concept that was garnering significant buzz and so meeting up at Saluhall was the way to go as they had complimentary WiFi access and plenty of clean and open seating. The menu at Smish Smash is of course filled with burger options with no fewer than seven on their regular menu and a rotating special menu items including items with chili on them including fries, hot dog, and chili in a bowl, not to mention a couple of extra burgers to boot. Each of their burgers on their regular menu has the option of ordering it as a single or double smash burger. Since it was my first time, I ordered a single version of their Cheeseboiga, which had yellow American cheese, pickles, caramelized onions, and mac sauce. My dining mate ordered a single version of their Wow Burger which was topped with white American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and s2 sauce, which is a combination of mayonnaise and relish, with an order of a side of Curly Fries which were cooked in beef tallow, our total bill was 33 dollars before taxes and gratuity were added in. It wouldn't take too long for our order to be custom made by their team and we enjoyed every last bite while sitting at their communal dining inside the Saluhall. The most noticeable thing that I noticed about the smash burgers at Smish Smash was the fact how thin their smashed burgers were, almost paper like thinness, which made for a unique dining experience. But what was lacking in overall heft of the burger was more than made up in terms of overall juiciness and flavor of my overall burger, of which came out clear on the grease and flavor on my fingertips as I ate every last bite. So good was my experience at Smish Smash that a return visit mere a couple of months later was in order when I attended a show at the nearby Orpheum Theatre. With complimentary WiFi and water available to customers, this time I ordered their Smish Smash Special which was their Dac Biet smash burger which was their signature grass-fed smashed beef topped with white American cheese, sliced onions, jalapeños, cilantro, Thai basil, alfalfa sprouts, lime and pho aioli. This particular smash burger, which cost 16 dollars, was a little on the healthier side as the sprouts, onions, and cilantro overpowered everything, but the flavor profile did make it feel as if I was enjoying a bowl filled with pho noodles with all the fixings. I appreciate what Smish Smash is trying to do, as an up and coming entrepreneurial business from pop-up to permanent business in an area that could seriously use the support, I am all in with what Smish Smash is offering up on a daily basis, good affordable trendy smash burgers that makes burger lovers coming back for more and then some! "I was a-moving and a-grooving, yeah I was a-smishing and a-smashing..."

Not a great experience overall :( I've had plenty of smash burgers, but NONE of them had PAPER THIN patties. Like I know it is smashed and supposed to be on the thinner side but you could literally see through the "patty" how much meat are you actually getting?? It was honestly ridiculous. Not to mention the inch thick pile of lettuce. Not to mention we spent $90 on four burgers and two fries. Whaaaat?? I was honestly kind of pissed. Also not to mention this "food hall" is kind of failing. It is not a draw for lunch as we were one group out of two on a Thursday at noon. Our order wasn't even correct! One person asked for no sauce and one person wanted a double patty. Not sure if we paid for double patty or not. Will never go back. Better burgers elsewhere.

Walking distance form my Hilton hotel & it was a good spot to pick up a quick bite to eat. However I did notice they were a bit short staffed and the line was tremendously long, but it didn't bother me. It did bother other patrons, but hey if you're patient enough you'll enjoy the smash burger at the end of the wait.

    Double WOW
    Nihar P.

Smish Smash is a great place to stop by for a casual smash burger. I ordered the Double WOW, which comes with white American cheese, onions, and pickles. It was a really good burger, but I did have a few critiques. I think the burger could have been almost twice as good if it had some veggies in it. The patty was very greasy, which caused the wrapper and buns to get soggy toward the end. It was also pretty hard to eat since the patty and cheese would constantly slide to the bottom when I picked it up. Lettuce and tomato could have elevated it to a more balanced burger because they would have absorbed some of the grease and helped add a little friction to keep everything together. When I asked if I could add veggies, they said they weren't able to do that, which felt a bit strange. They do have another burger on the menu that comes with veggies, but I specifically wanted one with white American cheese, and this was the only option with that setup. The fries were also pretty mid. They gave a large portion when ordering a side, but they were basic curly fries with nothing special. Honestly, they tasted like frozen Arby's fries. Overall, the best thing about this place is the beef skirt they get on the patties. It is on the pricier side, but the extremely crispy edges are great and definitely make the burger stand out. It's not the best burger I've had, but if I'm in the area, I'd still stop by for a quick bite.

From the very first bite, I knew I had found the IT bagel spot in the city. I ordered one pumpernickel and one poppyseed. The staff member helping me was super efficient and scooped up my bagels in a flash. She asked me if I wanted any cream cheese. I dubiously asked if they had any vegan cream cheese fully expecting the answer to be no, as I didn't see it listed on the menu, but she confirmed instantly that they do offer vegan scallion cream cheese and added a compostable tub of it to my order. She also directed me to the canister of compostable knives available for takeout. I was in and out quicker than I expected. While waiting for the bus, I used the plastic knife I picked up to slice one of the bagels and slather on some of the vegan scallion cream cheese. I was impressed by how glossy the bagels appeared on the outside but how soft they are in the inside. The vegan scallion cream cheese really elevated the bagel to the next level. Idk what they put in it, but it's crack. It doesn't taste anything like the original Kite Hill spread I've gotten elsewhere. I almost ordered a second serving, but I'm so glad I didn't... or maybe I should have because they were that good. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and you could actually taste the hot honey without it overpowering everything else. It paired so well with the corn, slaw, and sauce, creating the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and fresh. And that squeeze of lemon on top? It brought everything together. Easily one of the best specials I've had in a while. One thing I also appreciated was how extensive the menu is. Since I almost always order a burger, I hadn't realized how many options they offer. My friend and I came with our kids, and everyone found something they were excited to eat, which made ordering easy.
