"I am a dream come true" Love, The fat slab of meat you're looking at. ;)

If there was one more star for purchase, I'd spend the money. A guy named Mike was at Golden Gate Park today, for an event called Old Cars Picnic. I showed up with my daughter who was meeting up with her friend, where this guy Mike was wearing a Sunset 29 shirt, but LOOKING like a SF Giants shirt.....he's working like a work-horse over the hot BBQ grill, and THEN, just as my stomach finishes a growl and I shoot out a prayer that someone has some snacks....he starts walking around with this PRIMO grade beef, sliced and hot, handing them to absolutely everyone within 20 feet of him. He didn't even ask if I was part of his friends party....just walked over and fed me, repeatedly. and not a hot dog. The best beef, expertly BBQ'd, proudly presented, and I'd follow this guy to dinner every day if he lived by me!! Go get some, you won't be sorry!! Thank you Mike!!

    Trays of deliciousness!

We were so lucky to have SUNSET29 BBQ cater our school's last day before winter break, and I have to say it did not disappoint. The spices are magically elaborate, the meat is perfectly tender and the sides are perfectly matched. My only disappointment is I didn't know about them sooner!!!!! Don't sleep on this amazing catering option. Be the talk of 2025 and beyond.

Tri Tip. The OG of his BBQ!

The dumplings are pretty large and good amount of filling, a little bland without the sauces to dip in. Lamb pharsi - slow cooked boneless lamb meat in a spiced sauce with butternut squash. Got it medium spice which not too spicy, really nice flavor. Also got it with side of naan since it comes with rice or naan. The naan was made to order when I came to pick my order up they were getting it ready. Kukhura Bhanta - slow cooked chicken & eggplant with a sauce served with choice of basmati, brown or plain rice or naan. Got the basmati rice which paired well. This fairly new restaurant is super cute, cozy and had that authentic vibe upon entry. We were greeted warmly, then scored the awesome super sized table near the window because of our party of 6. Overall, the place felt homey and I appreciated that we were able to have a lively conversation without having music or typical restaurant noise to compete with. Our order: The Momo platter $17 Explosive chicken $14.95 Sherpa mix grill $23.70 Kukhura lamb tulsi $20.95 Chicken makhmali $20.95 Shrimp biryani $20.95 Dudh chiya $3.95 Mango lassi $4.95 18% gratuity was automatically added, which brought our total bill to $165.22 Portion wise, I have to say each dish was small and between the 6 of us, we were really only able to get a few bites of each dish. I also found that most of the flavors were not very strong, as I'm typically used to. I do have to admit that our party had request mild in the heat level but even the garlic naan was pretty bland and it didn't taste or smell like garlic, even though we could visibly see lots of garlic flakes on the naan. My dudh chiya was also lacking in tea essence, ginger, cloves and cardamom -- basically tasted like steamed milk... I wish I was more impressed as I did appreciate the warm service and overall ambiance.

Everything is insanely delicious -- bold flavors, generous portions, and amazing value. The BBQ short ribs are my dad's absolute favorite, and I completely understand why. They're tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. As for me? The spicy pork is unbeatable. Perfectly marinated, perfectly cooked -- no one does it like Bart's. No one. The place smells incredible the moment you walk in -- that mouthwatering BBQ aroma that makes you instantly hungry. The staff is always kind, welcoming, and efficient. Checkout is quick and easy, and even when it's busy, they keep things moving. Parking can be a little tricky, which is why I usually order takeout -- but honestly, it's just as good at home. They do have a few tables if you want to dine in, but either way, you're winning. If this place were closer to my house (and if calories didn't count!), I'd be here every single day. Highly, highly recommended. Try it once and you'll be hooked. Bon Appétit!

Also, nothing is served with mac salad... The prices are pretty decent for SF. Maybe that's why this place is popular. They are takeout only and have one bench outside for you to eat at if it's free. Tried the garlic shrimp, the moco loco (idk why they swap the words), and the furikake chicken. Also had a spam musubi (when I ordered online for pick up, I couldn't add egg which is usually an option according to the Toast website). The garlic shrimp was missing a flavor that Hawaii has in their garlic shrimp. The color was very red but it was not spicy. They do have an option to make it spicy though. It was bland to me compared to what I'm used to when I visit Hawaii. The moco loco gravy was good, but the beef patty tasted dry and overcooked. They did have a runny egg too but it was oddly underneath the patties, so we broke the eggs while trying to split the beef amongst 3 people. The furikake chicken is probably better if you eat it right away since it's lightly breaded. We took it home so by the time we ate it, it was soggy. The sauce it is cooked in is a little sweet and wasn't too bad. The soggy chicken ruined the texture for me though. Each dish was served with a little bit of cabbage which I liked to get a little greens in the meals. The spam musubi didn't taste like it had any sauce, and they used so much furikake underneath the spam, that it made it taste fishy. Would not recommend. I can't comment on the service much since I ordered online for pickup. The guy who handed me my food after asking my name was nice and polite though. The only reason I'd come back is to try to the shave ice. The group in front of me got 3 for their kids, and it looked tasty. I would not come back for the food, but at least the prices aren't bad for SF standards.

But my sister had enough faith in him that she put her name down in the waitlist a couple years ago. A few days before Valentine's day in 2026, my sister got the email asking her to confirm her order quantities and to pick up on Valentine's day. Apparently, my sister completely forgot her order. lol! This guy have more integrity than kickstarter projects and to keep his promise and to fulfill the orders!!! It's my first time having sweet water noodles. I have never visited Cheng Du in China (it's on my bucket list) so I cannot tell how authentic this really is. As a noodle dish, I really love it. I would buy the sauce itself and toss with any other noodles. (Business opportunity there!) The instruction to cook the noodles is super clear and it's a very simple and easy dish to make. If you can boil water in a pot, you can make the noodles based on the instruction with this noodles kit. The rice crispy gave an excellent crunch. (Now I can see why Paik Jong Won added the uncooked instant noodles crumbs from the package to a bowl of instant noodles). The noodles texture is lovely, it has a chewy (or the Taiwanese/Chinese known as "QQ") bite to it. The portion is quite generous too - it's one of those satisfying portions :) I don't think I want to wait for 2 years for this again. But when he opens the store or start selling the sauce, I will be there for sure!!
