    Marinated Spicy Chicken

This spot is a really good hole in the wall type place. There is no seating so expect to take everything to go. The service was good and the workers were nice. The food was delicious; some really good Korean food. I got the Marinated Spicy Chicken; it was packed with flavor and not too spicy. This place also has good Korean snacks and buldak noodles if ur just looking for snacks to munch on.

It's not often that you go to a grocery store, totally ignore the grocery part and just concentrate on what makes this place special. It's their Korean barbecue section. A little under half of the whole place is a dedicated kitchen just for the food. In fact, it'd probably be busier if it was called Bart Korean Barbecue Plus. LOL. The place cooks up a lot of food as during the time I was there, there were folks from all walks of life, your healthcare workers, the construction guys, the hoodie-goons, housewives in pajamas, it's a regular stream of people about as diverse as a Walmart in the ghetto. But, that's just my impression and no matter who walks in, they're all greeted equally by the sweet waftings of barbecue in the air that immediately puts your saliva glands in overdrive. I'm no great Korean food aficionado, but I tell you what, I bet you'd love it!

If you're looking for some quality Korean food at fair portions for the price, this is THE local spot! I've been coming to Bart Grocery for years and is always a hit with friends who are trying this place out for the first time. My favorite is the marinated spicy pork plate but I've also had the kimchi fried rice and beef short ribs (galbi) plate. Absolutely delicious and filling and I always have some leftovers for a second meal for the next day. I recommend calling ahead for takeout. They give you a pretty accurate time when the food will be ready for pick-up so it's just more convenient. Limited street parking but the 20 min parking spot right in front of the store is usually vacant. Food comes out quick and overall just really great bang for your buck.

Beef short rib (Kalbi) was def one of the best we had. When I ordered they said about 25-30 min, but then they called my name after 5-10 minutes (thank you!). Appreciate services where they give you an estimate time and beats it. When I went in, it gave me Kim's Convenience vibes, don't hate meeee, but it was nice! Nostalgic and lovely. They had Korean snacks, kimchi and usual convenient store goodies. Super close to bart so check them out. Not a collab. Ig@blacktigereats

Food - 5/5 The food provided here is by Daly City (hidden gem) Bart, hence the word, BART grocery--yaddamean? Haha its absolutely delicious and I always forget this here but honestly this is my quick--favorite Korean spot. Service - 5/5 Wow!! That was fast it took like 10 minutes for 3 items: spicy tofu soup, bulgogi, and bibimbap ! They be serving food still Hella fast this has been here definitely longer than 20 years because I'm old. Ambiance - 5/5 Dope!! This isnt only a quick Korean to-Go spot near Daly City Bart but this is a clean grocery spot, reminds me of my family's old sari-sari store in Vallejo !

Their japchae and spicy pork has gotten better since a few years ago but it's still not as tasty and the pork almost bland when it used to be perfectly balanced. It's still decent value but it might not be the healthiest. There was a quarter cup of red oil leftover from my plate and that's but including what was on the rice and pork. It used to always be a little greasy but this is egregious. Probably better to let your plate drain before eating next time.

It's been a while since we've been out to Daly City. We made sure we would swing by Bart Market to indulge in what used to be kick butt marinated chicken with a side of jap chae. We used to come here when the Mr. & Mrs. "Bart" were behind the counter. I recall the Mr. Bart on the grill. That's when we felt the food was made with TLC. We enjoyed our meal today, but there was something lacking in flavor and quality. It's still good, but if we go out to Daly City again and don't stop by for a quick lunch, it would not bother me. In the old days, it was a must to order lunch at Bart Mart.

I've been coming to BART Grocery & BBQ on and off for over 10 years and have so many great memories of grabbing their food for get-togethers with friends. It had been about three years since my last visit, but a craving for their BBQ brought me back on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. Parking was surprisingly easy--at 5pm their 20-minute spots were actually open (which is rare, since parking here is usually a challenge). I walked right in, placed my order, and had my food hot and ready in under 10 minutes. The aroma filled my car the whole drive home! I ordered the Marinated Chicken, Beef Short Ribs (Kalbi), Beef Bulgogi, and Bibimbap, with a $5 upgrade to Kimchi Fried Rice with the chicken. The standout was definitely the Kalbi Short Ribs--juicy, tender, and perfectly charred at the edges. Absolutely delicious and a must-try! The Marinated Chicken was also great, served in a very generous portion with rice and japchae noodles. The kimchi fried rice was flavorful and packed with plenty of kimchi. The biggest letdown was the Bulgogi. It was surprisingly bland, lacking that sweet-salty flavor, and felt heavy on onions compared to beef. I did enjoy the mushrooms, but overall it needed a boost. Fortunately, the same beef worked much better in the Bibimbap. Once mixed with the gochujang and veggies, every bite was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, the portions are large, the prices are fair, and most of the food hit the spot. While I'd skip the Bulgogi next time, I'd absolutely recommend trying their Kalbi Short Ribs--worth the trip on their own!

I ordered beef short ribs kalbi for $24.95. The short ribs were delicious and juicy, and they came with rice and noodles. However, if you're ordering to go, make sure to ask for a fork or chopsticks. I've had a few UberEats orders for pickup where they didn't give me with napkins, a fork, or chopsticks.

With so many Korean market options, how does this place stand up? Despite the name, I would not consider this to be a grocery store. It's basically a local Korean takeout. Food took about 15 minutes to make. Parking in the neighborhood if you don't mind walking. Store is small. Service was no nonsense prompt. $20.95 kalbi $14.95 spicy chicken Both plates came with rice and japchae -- the beef short ribs were tender and well marinated, though a tiny bit sweet for my liking. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy enough for me. You can a little container of their home made kimchi as well. There was a lotta rice which I'll reuse as kimchi fried rice and add some diced spam to the mix. With Hmart so close and even Kukje nearby, I don't see the need to make a stop here.

Bart grocery did not disappoint! I ordered the Kalbi and it was honestly so mouth watering and delicious. It was about 20 dollars for the plate but it comes with many short ribs, rice, japchae, and a small container of homemade kimchi! Although it was 20 dollars for the plate the was actually a good amount of meat that was included. The short ribs was marinated in one of the best sauces I have had. I will definitely come back to this local staple as soon as I back in town! I waited about 10 minutes for my food. The inside smelled like barbecue and was kind of smoky inside. I'm just surprised that after living in Daly City for almost my whole life that I have never been to this amazing place. I know that this place is a local staple but I actually found out about it from reading a history book about Daly City LOL. This place is actually walking distance from Daly City bart and it seems like it has been here for a long time! I enjoyed my food from this place and I will be coming back! Always shop local!

If your purchase is under $10, they force customers to pay cash, even when using a debit card, or they tell you to buy something else to make the total over $10. That is not legal for debit card purchases. I've personally told them multiple times that I am paying with a debit card and I was buying more than one item so I should be allowed to use my card without being forced to pay cash. Other customers have also explained that they are paying debit, and the staff's response is usually, "Well, we charge for either." This has become a repeated issue, and it feels like the store is intentionally ignoring the law and inconveniencing customers. They should stop refusing debit card transactions under $10 and clearly follow payment regulations.

10/10!!! I love their vegetable fried rice with bulgogi because it's just that good. They give a good amount for the price. Even if you don't get the vegetable fried rice you with bulgogi, it still tastes great. Their bulgogi kimchi fried rice is also another great option here. If you're stopping by for something small, they have ramen and snacks here from sweet to savory options. I definitely recommend this plate to anyone that loves korean food because this place is a hidden gem!

We were seated right away and decided to share the gal bi ribs (dinner size portion), the bibim naengmyun cold noodles, and a portion of purple rice. Our server brought out a kettle of hot tea and array of banchan, which we grazed on while we waited for the ribs and noodles. The ribs came out first, served sizzling hot on a ceramic dish. The dinner portion appeared to be way more meat than the two of us could finish, although our server had recommended the dinner portion would be more appropriate for two people. Some of the ribs didn't have much meat on them, but we still had plenty left over once we'd eaten our fill. The bibim naengmyun was served about 15-20 minutes after the ribs. The noodles were coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, but the cooling texture of the noodles helped temper the heat. I also really enjoyed the sweet potato, cucumber, and Asian pear toppings, which added freshness and crunch. We had tons of leftovers after our meal, so next time, we'd stick with the lunch-sized portions.

Very friendly as always. Gave us a tea kettle after we sat down and had some warm tea before we ordered. That was nice. They also gave us a pitcher of cold ice water. When we were ready to order they came to us right away. We ordered 2 Pork dumpling tofu stew soup and bul go gi (marinated rib eye beef). First they served us the ban chan which consist of jap chae (glass noodle with veggies), marinated broccoli, sprouts, Kim chi, cucumber and potato(savory, very good). They also gave us the purple rice and 2 eggs for our tofu stew. All the banchans were fresh and delicious!!! I love the jap chae. It was cooked perfectly. The rest of the ban chans were seasoned just right! It was hard to stop eating them before our meal arrived. I look forward to coming here for their ban chans as it is a treat. Next came our Bul Go Gi on a sizzling platter. Yes, it was not sizzling but I prefer it this way as the meat was tender and great with the ban chans. Before when it came out sizzling the bottom meats would be crispy and dry. But this time it stayed moist and delicious!!! Love the onions with the marinated sauce. Next our tofu soup came and it was very HOT and sizzling. We dropped the egg into our tofu soup and dig in. The soup was very tasty, full of umami flavors. The tofu was silky to your mouth. The pork dumpling soaked in the flavors from the soup and was sooo yummy!!! We put some of the bul go gi and kimchi in the soup and that elevated the flavors into a different level. The ladies asked us if we were doing fine and replenished our ban chans. I felt like I was eating home. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Last time we were here was last year and our experience was the same...,Full and Happy with their delicious food. This place is a gem with real authentic Korean cuisine. Thank you for filling our hearts desire yesterday. We can't wait to come back.

We ordered a seafood jjamppong and and a jajang mein. Both came out quite quickly, and the portion sizes seemed pretty good for the price. However, it felt like they skimped a little on the proteins, and the flavors were not as good as other Korean places I've had. The jjamppong had a good amount of spice, but it felt like we were just eating noodles with minimal seafood. The soup was a little bland and the overall flavor profile was not to my expectations. The Jajang Mein was also weird in a way that it wasn't Chinese or Korean, but a worse of both worlds. There were only a few slices of cucumber which made the entire dish heavy. There was seafood which was a little weird, and the pork they gave was surprisingly little compared to the amount of sauce. Safe to say that no dishes were finished due to the carb to protein ratio. Aside from the location and the perk of being locally owned, I believe HMart just down the street has a better flavor profile and experience, I cannot comment on their other dishes, but would recommend people ordering 1 noodle dish per 2 people, as they use the same noodles for everything, and to prevent the carb overload. Maybe their other dishes are more redeeming in quality and flavor, but I do not see myself coming back.

The sul long tang was good to try, I had the chadol yangji sul long tang. The beef was okay, and it came with white noodles. There is salt and pepper on the table to season the soup with. It's perfect for when it is cold outside. I did enjoy trying the purple rice with a bite of kimchi and dipping it into the soup, the contrast of creamy savory vs sour spicy blended well in a bite. There was a lot of pork and substance in the soup, and it felt of really good value given how much you need to prepare to make a bowl of it. The seafood pancake was also a hit, but I recommend ordering and sharing amongst 4 people. It's a little oily, but the seafood taste and substance are not skimped on. It tasted freshly fried given how crispy it was, and was overall an enjoyable dish. With prices and portions in balance, it's no wonder this is one of the few places with a line out the door around 6:30PM on a Sunday. Given how many Koreans came here, I wouldn't doubt that this place falls any short of authentic Korean food. If you're a fan of Korean food and some lesser known Korean dishes, then you're in for a treat. Make sure to come early to avoid the wait, since the restaurant is a little small and spots can fill up quick.

Pro tip: when you get in, you order first before being seated, especially the kalbijjim since it takes a long time to make. The kalbijjim, of course, is the star of the show and never ceases to amaze me. The veggies inside are flavorful and tender from marinating in the sauce for hours, and the beef is fall-off-the-bone tender and plentiful. It's expensive, but worth every penny -- and with the cheese torched on top, it's just perfect. We also got the bibimbap and steamed mandu, japchae, and they were amazing too. Service was great -- attentive even with the crowds. There's street parking, but 3rd Ave is busy, so your best bet is the parking lot nearby. Come hungry and be patient -- it's worth it!

This is easily one of our absolute favorite places to go when we don't feel like cooking dinner…read more While we've noticed that their galbi jjim has declined over the years--becoming noticeably sweeter--their soups have kept us coming back. These days, we go for the seolleongtang. Our top picks are the combination seolleongtang and the yukgaejang (spicy brisket soup). The combination soup is rich, hearty, and feels like drinking pure liquid collagen. If you're craving something with a kick, the spicy brisket soup offers a much deeper, more savory, and flavorful spice profile.
