It's not often that you go to a grocery store, totally ignore the grocery part and just concentrate on what makes this place special. It's their Korean barbecue section. A little under half of the whole place is a dedicated kitchen just for the food. In fact, it'd probably be busier if it was called Bart Korean Barbecue Plus. LOL. The place cooks up a lot of food as during the time I was there, there were folks from all walks of life, your healthcare workers, the construction guys, the hoodie-goons, housewives in pajamas, it's a regular stream of people about as diverse as a Walmart in the ghetto. But, that's just my impression and no matter who walks in, they're all greeted equally by the sweet waftings of barbecue in the air that immediately puts your saliva glands in overdrive. I'm no great Korean food aficionado, but I tell you what, I bet you'd love it!
If you're looking for some quality Korean food at fair portions for the price, this is THE local spot! I've been coming to Bart Grocery for years and is always a hit with friends who are trying this place out for the first time. My favorite is the marinated spicy pork plate but I've also had the kimchi fried rice and beef short ribs (galbi) plate. Absolutely delicious and filling and I always have some leftovers for a second meal for the next day. I recommend calling ahead for takeout. They give you a pretty accurate time when the food will be ready for pick-up so it's just more convenient. Limited street parking but the 20 min parking spot right in front of the store is usually vacant. Food comes out quick and overall just really great bang for your buck.
This spot is a really good hole in the wall type place. There is no seating so expect to take everything to go. The service was good and the workers were nice. The food was delicious; some really good Korean food. I got the Marinated Spicy Chicken; it was packed with flavor and not too spicy. This place also has good Korean snacks and buldak noodles if ur just looking for snacks to munch on.
Beef short rib (Kalbi) was def one of the best we had. When I ordered they said about 25-30 min, but then they called my name after 5-10 minutes (thank you!). Appreciate services where they give you an estimate time and beats it. When I went in, it gave me Kim's Convenience vibes, don't hate meeee, but it was nice! Nostalgic and lovely. They had Korean snacks, kimchi and usual convenient store goodies. Super close to bart so check them out. Not a collab. Ig@blacktigereats

Everything is insanely delicious -- bold flavors, generous portions, and amazing value. The BBQ short ribs are my dad's absolute favorite, and I completely understand why. They're tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. As for me? The spicy pork is unbeatable. Perfectly marinated, perfectly cooked -- no one does it like Bart's. No one. The place smells incredible the moment you walk in -- that mouthwatering BBQ aroma that makes you instantly hungry. The staff is always kind, welcoming, and efficient. Checkout is quick and easy, and even when it's busy, they keep things moving. Parking can be a little tricky, which is why I usually order takeout -- but honestly, it's just as good at home. They do have a few tables if you want to dine in, but either way, you're winning. If this place were closer to my house (and if calories didn't count!), I'd be here every single day. Food - 5/5 The food provided here is by Daly City (hidden gem) Bart, hence the word, BART grocery--yaddamean? Haha its absolutely delicious and I always forget this here but honestly this is my quick--favorite Korean spot. Service - 5/5 Wow!! That was fast it took like 10 minutes for 3 items: spicy tofu soup, bulgogi, and bibimbap ! They be serving food still Hella fast this has been here definitely longer than 20 years because I'm old. Ambiance - 5/5 Dope!! This isnt only a quick Korean to-Go spot near Daly City Bart but this is a clean grocery spot, reminds me of my family's old sari-sari store in Vallejo !
I've been coming to BART Grocery & BBQ on and off for over 10 years and have so many great memories of grabbing their food for get-togethers with friends. It had been about three years since my last visit, but a craving for their BBQ brought me back on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. Parking was surprisingly easy--at 5pm their 20-minute spots were actually open (which is rare, since parking here is usually a challenge). I walked right in, placed my order, and had my food hot and ready in under 10 minutes. The aroma filled my car the whole drive home! I ordered the Marinated Chicken, Beef Short Ribs (Kalbi), Beef Bulgogi, and Bibimbap, with a $5 upgrade to Kimchi Fried Rice with the chicken. The standout was definitely the Kalbi Short Ribs--juicy, tender, and perfectly charred at the edges. Absolutely delicious and a must-try! The Marinated Chicken was also great, served in a very generous portion with rice and japchae noodles. The kimchi fried rice was flavorful and packed with plenty of kimchi. The biggest letdown was the Bulgogi. It was surprisingly bland, lacking that sweet-salty flavor, and felt heavy on onions compared to beef. I did enjoy the mushrooms, but overall it needed a boost. Fortunately, the same beef worked much better in the Bibimbap. Once mixed with the gochujang and veggies, every bite was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, the portions are large, the prices are fair, and most of the food hit the spot. While I'd skip the Bulgogi next time, I'd absolutely recommend trying their Kalbi Short Ribs--worth the trip on their own!
It's been a while since we've been out to Daly City. We made sure we would swing by Bart Market to indulge in what used to be kick butt marinated chicken with a side of jap chae. We used to come here when the Mr. & Mrs. "Bart" were behind the counter. I recall the Mr. Bart on the grill. That's when we felt the food was made with TLC. We enjoyed our meal today, but there was something lacking in flavor and quality. It's still good, but if we go out to Daly City again and don't stop by for a quick lunch, it would not bother me. In the old days, it was a must to order lunch at Bart Mart.
With so many Korean market options, how does this place stand up? Despite the name, I would not consider this to be a grocery store. It's basically a local Korean takeout. Food took about 15 minutes to make. Parking in the neighborhood if you don't mind walking. Store is small. Service was no nonsense prompt. $20.95 kalbi $14.95 spicy chicken Both plates came with rice and japchae -- the beef short ribs were tender and well marinated, though a tiny bit sweet for my liking. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy enough for me. You can a little container of their home made kimchi as well. There was a lotta rice which I'll reuse as kimchi fried rice and add some diced spam to the mix. With Hmart so close and even Kukje nearby, I don't see the need to make a stop here.
Bart grocery did not disappoint! I ordered the Kalbi and it was honestly so mouth watering and delicious. It was about 20 dollars for the plate but it comes with many short ribs, rice, japchae, and a small container of homemade kimchi! Although it was 20 dollars for the plate the was actually a good amount of meat that was included. The short ribs was marinated in one of the best sauces I have had. I will definitely come back to this local staple as soon as I back in town! I waited about 10 minutes for my food. The inside smelled like barbecue and was kind of smoky inside. I'm just surprised that after living in Daly City for almost my whole life that I have never been to this amazing place. I know that this place is a local staple but I actually found out about it from reading a history book about Daly City LOL. This place is actually walking distance from Daly City bart and it seems like it has been here for a long time! I enjoyed my food from this place and I will be coming back! Always shop local!
Their japchae and spicy pork has gotten better since a few years ago but it's still not as tasty and the pork almost bland when it used to be perfectly balanced. It's still decent value but it might not be the healthiest. There was a quarter cup of red oil leftover from my plate and that's but including what was on the rice and pork. It used to always be a little greasy but this is egregious. Probably better to let your plate drain before eating next time.
10/10!!! I love their vegetable fried rice with bulgogi because it's just that good. They give a good amount for the price. Even if you don't get the vegetable fried rice you with bulgogi, it still tastes great. Their bulgogi kimchi fried rice is also another great option here. If you're stopping by for something small, they have ramen and snacks here from sweet to savory options. I definitely recommend this plate to anyone that loves korean food because this place is a hidden gem!
I ordered beef short ribs kalbi for $24.95. The short ribs were delicious and juicy, and they came with rice and noodles. However, if you're ordering to go, make sure to ask for a fork or chopsticks. I've had a few UberEats orders for pickup where they didn't give me with napkins, a fork, or chopsticks.

A hidden gem...quality takeout within a mini-mart. Portions size is decent. Taste is great. Wait time is longer than expected especially since it was not busy within walking customers (but there were alot of takeout orders so I guess they prioritize those rather than customers walking in the door). Pricing is ok but Kalbi is big ticket item, so next time we will probably won't grab any. Establishment is very clean and organized. Customer service is non-existent, only transactional conversation with no emotions. read more

Growing up, I used to come here often. I hadn't been back in a few years, but it still tastes just as delicious as I remember. If you're looking for a quick Korean plate to go, this is definitely a solid spot. I recommend getting an extra side so you'll be full. My favorites are the kalbi, japchae, and spicy pork. I do think the owners may have changed, and the portions seem smaller than they used to be. In photos, the plates look packed, but in person, they don't feel quite as generous. I'd still come back from time to time, just not as often as before. Overall, I still love this place. read more

Bart has been on regular takeout rotation in my fam for years. We don't go as often as we used to but every time we pick-up from here, the food satisfies our craving. I always call in the order ahead of time as parking gets a little challenging around dinner time. Service is quick and friendly. Portions are huge, delicious and a good price for the size. I always have enough for at least another meal. I like the kim chi fried rice and the spicy pork. The men in my family always get the short ribs. Since this is inside a grocery store, you can get snacks, drinks, and other goods too. read more

If your purchase is under $10, they force customers to pay cash, even when using a debit card, or they tell you to buy something else to make the total over $10. That is not legal for debit card purchases. I've personally told them multiple times that I am paying with a debit card and I was buying more than one item so I should be allowed to use my card without being forced to pay cash. Other customers have also explained that they are paying debit, and the staff's response is usually, "Well, we charge for either." This has become a repeated issue, and it feels like the store is intentionally ignoring the law and inconveniencing customers. They should stop refusing debit card transactions under $10 and clearly follow payment regulations. read more
Easy parking down the block with lots of spots. BART Grocery & BBQ has been on my radar for years. Ordered Bulgogi at the Cashier, and the order was ready in a few minutes, but in the future I would call in an order to minimize a wait since there is no seating. The entree was one of the best attempts I have experienced of this dish in the area so I was very happy. Nothing exciting about the interior but this is about good takeout eats, and on that they deliver. read more

My BF and I love this place for takeout Korean BBQ. It's a few blocks from the Daly City Bart station, hence the name. The food comes out pretty fast typically around 10 minutes or less, so it's easy to pick dinner up on the way home. We order two plates and that's often enough for more than 1 meal. Typically we will get spicy chicken or spicy pork, but the grilled chicken and bulgogi are good too. The short ribs are off the chart delicious, so that's what I have been getting lately. The meals come with rice and japchae (which I could eat everyday). I love these tasty glass noodles and the kimchee what comes on the side. Bart Grocery is my favorite to go places in Daly City. read more
2025 update. Bart Grocery & BBQ is not the best Korean food I have had. But that's not the point. They are pretty good. The restaurant smells like sweet Korean BBQ when you walk in because they grill the meat right there. I still miss the old husband & wife team that retired in 2020. It felt more homey when they were around. Today I had the tofu soup $14 and marinated chicken $14 for lunch. I can't believe I've never had their tofu soup before. It was surprisingly good. There are bits of meat with big pieces of tofu, and a surprise pot sticker in there. The marinated chicken tasted the same. Now they give a little cup of kimchi. It took about 25 minutes for my food to be ready at 12pm via phone order. read more

Clean, well lit interior and exterior. Fast, friendly, and efficient service. I went to BART Grocery multiple times before composing this review. The beef short ribs were aromatic, tender and flavorful. The japjie was perfectly seasoned with good mouthfeel. The marinated chicken doesn't disappoint. It's flavorful dark meat that works perfectly with the japjie. Lastly, the kimchi fried rice is tasty and well balanced. (Ask for mild spice for those who are sensitive to heat.) PRO-TIP: Go off hours. This is a popular spot. Parking is usually 20 minutes and each time, most orders required 15-20 minutes to complete-totally WORTH it. I will call in my orders from now on. There's 2 hour street parking near the BART station a block away. This is now my new favorite Korean takeout spot. Note- Extra points for use of label maker to identify various orders. read more

I've lived in DC for so long, first time trying it today! Food was excellent and pretty big portions. Quick service, ordered over the phone, they said 15min, I got there in 10min and it was done! Definitely coming back for the Galbi Plate read more

After I placed my order at the cashier, my food came out fast. It was 12:30pm on a Friday. Prices have gone up, no more salad is offered but the food is still very good. Spicy chicken has just the right amount of spice and rice to soak up the sauce. And both of us shared this for lunch. read more

We were close by and decided to pick up lunch here. I've been here several times throughout the years. But it's been quite awhile since the last time. As I can recall, food was good and plentiful. So we thought to try them again. Thankfully, not many people in line on a Monday at 1 pm. Place your order at the cashier then wait for your food. We ordered marinated spicy pork and a beef bibimbap (4-4.5/5). It took about 10-15 minutes. They still give decent portions and prices are reasonable (most are under $15). Tasty and flavorful food and good on your wallet! Definitely check this place out if you just want food to go! read more

Take out only, no tables inside. Service at the counter is ok, could be friendlier. Place your order at cashier and wait outside for your name to be called. The prices are reasonable and. The cheapest you'll find in the area. Flavor wise could be better. The chicken was a bit dry and pork was not spicy at all. They fill you up on the japchae noodles and don't give much protein. Bart Grocery & BBQ is a regular dinner of choice for me that's quick, easy, and delicious for the price and quality. I grew up next to a mall where the quick serve chicken teriyaki over rice/noodles was on regular rotation and it's something I can't find anymore anywhere I look, and now that I've found Bart Grocery & BBQ, I find myself rejoicing in the simplicity of a meal that I can pick up whenever. I always get the teriyaki chicken combo plate ($14) with extra meat ($5) and extra sauce ($0.50). The meat is piled up nicely over a bed of noodles and rice and comes with a side of kimchi. This thing fills me up for less than $20 at such a steal, given everything costs like $20+ at a minimum in the SF and surrounding areas. I tried the kimchi fried rice on a massive craving last night for the first but it lacked a salty flavor and had better at Bay Pocha in SF near SFSU. Service is no frills so don't expect much there but the little couple who owns it does focus on trying to get you your food quick in a spot that's literally inside a small bodega style grocery store across the street from the Daly City BART station. 5 stars for the combo plate with my expectations set on a quick, inexpensive takeout meal and nothing more or less. read more
The Kalbi ,Chapchae And Rice was very tasty and the portions were generous. The Kimchi Fried Rice was a little too spicy for me . I have very little heat tolerance. The service needs to be more welcoming. No greetings, and no pleasantries. The place can get smoky inside so they direct you to wait outside. It is on the top of the hill in Daly City so it was cold and windy. Next time I will be more comfortable in a place where its warmer and friendly. The price of the food and the Soda was comparable to an Ayce Korean Barbecue. read more
