We ordered the combo short rib/oxtail galbijjim and it was SO good! The regular portion was more than enough for 4 adults (3 females and 1 male). The oxtail was meaty and not too overly fatty. I would definitely come back for this! We also ordered the Kal Kuk Soo and it was super bland (it is supposed to be!), so I wasn't quite up to my taste standards. You are supposed to add your own salt and pepper to it and it comes with a dipping sauce for the meat. I added some of the sauce from the galbijjim to it and it made it so much better. The broth is super rich and full of collagen though! We pretty much packed the whole order to go because we were so full off the galbijjim.

Another great meal at Han Sang. We had the beef short ribs w/extra meat plus cheese $100 and tofu soup $25 again. This time, we wanted to try the braised pork with vegetables $58. Service was awesome. The food tasted great. No wait on a Tuesday evening at 6pm.

Probably my favorite Korean restaurant in the Peninsula. Han San serves authentic Korean fare. My favorite dish to order here is their Soft Tofu soup with 2 choices of ingredients for the soup. I usually choose their rice cake and the beef rib. The soup comes on a wooden tray with small side dishes(ban chan) so it is literally a meal on a tray. The ladies who work here are kind and attentive. Seating is decently ample and this place does fill up quickly past 6pm on weekends.

Han Sang in Millbrae has been on my radar for a while and I finally made it out there with a group of friends. Safe to say, it was worth the wait. We came hungry and ordered our way through some of the most popular items on the menu. The cold noodles were refreshing and well balanced, the pancake had a great crisp to it, and the soup was comforting and full of flavor. Everything came out beautifully and held up to the hype. The service matched the food. Attentive, warm, and genuinely helpful throughout the meal without being overbearing. The space is cozy but accommodating for a larger group, which is always a win.

Gal Bi Jjim with extra meat and cheese

Solid Korean place, especially for the galbi jjim! Everytime I've walked by here, there is a line, but coming early (around 5:30PM) really does help. There is plenty of parking near downtown millbrae, with a few boba shops as well nearby. We ordered a Galbi Jjim with extra meat and cheese and a Dolsot Bibimbap amongst 4 people. It was more than enough for 4 people. The galbi here definitely is the star of the show with how flavorful it is. Level 1 spicy is perfect for my group due to lower spice tolerance, but honestly level 2 spice is the way to go. The meat was fall off the bone tender, and had multiple pieces that were all really big. They also don't skimp on the cheese, but it does come already torched. The Dolsot Bibimbap was pretty good, but I wish it was purple rice instead of white. They didn't give as much meat, and I probably wouldn't order it again since it was pretty average, especially for $45. If you like the crispy rice on the bottom, there was a lot and very easy to pick off. Service was a little slow and ultimately depends on your waiter. We had to manually ask for the side dishes since they took so long to come out. Oddly enough, they took my order within 5 minutes of sitting down... Would definitely come back to try their other dishes, but also wished they had more than just 3 sides dishes (radish, kimchi, and tofu strips).

Had lunch here with family today and it was pretty disappointing. The Kalkuhsoo broth tasted like watered-down soup with almost no flavor. Both noodle dishes had very dry beef brisket, and one of the mul naengmyeon bowls had undercooked noodles that were sticking together. Customer service was just okay, not great but not bad either. Overall, not a good experience. :(

Pretty nice spot at a good price point! Similar vibes and menu to Daeho, but less lines. I tried the Leek pancake and Chadol Sullongtang, and both were delicious! The broth is incredibly thick and meaty though, unlike other soups I've tried before. I really liked the radish kimchi!!

Sharing a recent update. The food at Han Sang has remained consistently good throughout the years and I really love that they offer a set for lunch. Stopped by during the freezing recent weeks for seolleong tang and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend their lunch sets, you get your choice of soup, rice and some banchan for a very fair price (especially in this economy). Lunch time seems to be a good time to visit, it doesn't get crowded and makes it more enjoyable to have a nice meal.

Mandu, galbitang, Sul Long Tang, bossam
    Priscilla Y.

A group of four walked in around 8pm and waited about 20 minutes for a table. We ordered yukjeon, mandu, bossam, and galbitang and sul lung tang both with extra meat. The bossam was disappointing--the meat was sliced very thin and overcooked. Prices felt high for the portion sizes overall. On the plus side, parking was easy with a lot around the block. Overall, the food was just okay. It's decent, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. I'd rather head to Tang Jip in the East Bay when I'm craving Korean food and soups.

    Solleongtang and bo ssam
    Tiffany L.

I have eaten at Han Sang multiple times for lunch and dinner over the past year. The service and food have been consistently good. I have enjoyed their solleongtang (milky white bone broth soup) and bo ssam (pork belly wraps). The bo ssam comes with all the traditional accompaniments, but they do charge if you need extra. The restaurant itself is clean, minimal, and modern. Parking can be a little tricky, but there are street parking spots or lots nearby.

I came with a friend on a Monday night and we got seated right away. I love how the restaurant decor was very simple and modern. The menu is very cute as well! We ordered the Combo Sullongtang and Bossam. The Sullongtang was very hearty and we liked how we can adjust the salt and pepper to our liking. The Bossam was amazing as well, very tender and perfectly sliced. They're so nice for giving refills on any side dish's, pairings of the bossam, and lettuce! Everything tasted so good we had to finish it. Highly recommend people checking this place out for their bossam!

I wanted to go to Han Sang for the first time after hearing things about their seolleongtang! They're located in downtown Millbrae. I visited with a friend and we both decided to get the chadol versions of it. The presentation was beautiful; lots of banchan on the side, and our food came out pretty quickly too. The soup was milky and comforting; make sure you add extra salt and pepper since it comes unseasoned. They also give you the option of having it with white or purple rice. Our server was super kind and the entire restaurant was clean and spacious. I'd probably come back to try their bossam or galbi jjim!

This place is soooo good! I am not a huge korean food fan but this really set the bar. It was quality korean food with great taste and depth to the food. It is on the pricier side but it's become it's made with so much more than regular korean place. I loved it!!!

My biggest gripe from past visits was the lack of ventilation, which for a charcoal grill kbbq can really make or break the experience, but it seems that they've worked on ventilation and it's not as stuffy. We had a reservation at 6:30, and we were sat really quickly, and had banchan ready for us at the table. I'm not too picky with meat quality, but I did enjoy the selection, but keep in mind each portion is pretty small, which can be nice if you're looking to try a wide variety of meats. They were extremely attentive and quick to check on us and refill our water and meats. I have only frequented this location maybe 3x's and wife 3x's separately bringing her friends for their first try. The chicken itself in consistent, but the FRIES are not. bb.q is a franchise and it was my understanding all franchisees were to adhere to corporate guidelines for consistency. I looked into this and my assumption was correct, that all franchisees need to adhere with what corporate hands down. As for the San Bruno location it's apparent they may not be adhering to guidelines regarding the type of fries they should be using. Back when they first opened in Oct/Nov 2024 they were using the correct fries, but somewhere down the road they changed them. When I first noticed the change I mentioned it to whoever was in charge and their response then was they had run out of the coated fries and were using a different type as a substitute. My sister-in-law who frequents the Apple Park location (nearly every two weeks) with us, went to the San Bruno location with her daughter and came back complaining; the fries weren't the same and although the chicken was cooked perfectly, it didn't have sufficient sauce. I said regarding the fries, "really? they told me they were out last week and had to substituted it for another. I would have thought they would have resolved it by the next order." A couple weeks later my wife who can't help talking about how good bb.q chicken is, brought one of her friends to the San Bruno location due to the shorter distance. Naturally my wife was deeply disappointed because the fries are what she bragged about most because they pair so well and really compliment the chicken. Two weeks later I had a craving for bb.q and stopped by the San Bruno location also due to distance and ordered the Lunch Special (my definite go to!!). The chicken was great as ever, but again, the fries were not the same. I asked the person in charge after repeated visits the fries are still not as before. I was then told they were no longer using the coated fries. So, unless corporate gets involved to make a change, I will no longer frequent nor recommend the San Bruno location. It appears to me the franchisee wants to cut back on cost at the expense of the brand image. Hopefully someone at corporate investigates and makes the necessary change. As a customer who has found consistency in Las Vegas, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Hawaii, why not San Bruno? The staff at San Bruno is still very nice and the chicken consistent. Again, my only complaint is the fries that have been substituted for the real McCoy.
