I heard a lot about Han Sang in Millbrae before, a solid Korean place. And my experience was indeed really great, everything we ordered hit, there were no bad dish at all! I went around 8pm on a weekday and place was packedddd, but the service was impressive. All of our dishes came out all at one, within 5-10 minutes after ordering. What I had: Yuk hwe (beef tartare with pears and egg yolk): If you're hesitant about raw beef, please don't be. It's honestly just like eating sashimi. Wagyu meat was incredibly tender, sweet, and melted in my mouth. It was mixed with some kind of seasoning sauce and egg yolk, so savory and addictive I couldn't stop. Highly recommend you should try it if you can eat raw food Bossam: Great but I found it a bit too fatty (meat-to-fat ratio was like 50:50 ). My favorite way to eat was wrapping it in lettuce with garlic (extraaa), jalapeno, kimchi, and ssamjang. It also went well with rice. Big bite was super satisfying Galbi tang: Something we ordered to balance things out (2 previous dishes was just heavy), and it was a perfect decision. The soup was light, clean, and deeply comforting. Beef short ribs were super tender. I like to eat with a big spoon, ribs, rice, kimchi then dipped in the warm soup, perfect!!! I have been a fan of Han Sang as an alternative to Daeho in the past for the Kalbijim. However, this time we decided to try other dishes for lunch. The hubs ordered their soon tofu soup and I order the bibimbap. The food was that flavor wise, it was decent. The bad, and reason for low rating, is due to the portions and lack of ingredients. For $25 per dish, you would expect the same amount of protein, veggies, etc as other restaurants. We were shocked seeing how little beef and other ingredients were in our meals. Literally, the skirt of beef in my bibimbap was less than one spoonful. It was made up by increase amount of veggies either. I know inflation is causing everything to be more expensive, but this feels a bit ridiculous. We'll probably not return, at least not for those items. We ordered the Combo Sul Long Tang $30, with white noodle with brisket, oxtail, tongue and tendon chunks. On the side there was green onion and pepper and salt to be paired with. We ordered the combo short rib/oxtail galbijjim and it was SO good! The regular portion was more than enough for 4 adults (3 females and 1 male). The oxtail was meaty and not too overly fatty. I would definitely come back for this! We also ordered the Kal Kuk Soo and it was super bland (it is supposed to be!), so I wasn't quite up to my taste standards. You are supposed to add your own salt and pepper to it and it comes with a dipping sauce for the meat. I added some of the sauce from the galbijjim to it and it made it so much better. I usually choose their rice cake and the beef rib. The soup comes on a wooden tray with small side dishes(ban chan) so it is literally a meal on a tray. Solid Korean place, especially for the galbi jjim! Everytime I've walked by here, there is a line, but coming early (around 5:30PM) really does help. There is plenty of parking near downtown millbrae, with a few boba shops as well nearby. We ordered a Galbi Jjim with extra meat and cheese and a Dolsot Bibimbap amongst 4 people. It was more than enough for 4 people. The galbi here definitely is the star of the show with how flavorful it is. Level 1 spicy is perfect for my group due to lower spice tolerance, but honestly level 2 spice is the way to go. The meat was fall off the bone tender, and had multiple pieces that were all really big. They also don't skimp on the cheese, but it does come already torched. The Dolsot Bibimbap was pretty good, but I wish it was purple rice instead of white. They didn't give as much meat, and I probably wouldn't order it again since it was pretty average, especially for $45. If you like the crispy rice on the bottom, there was a lot and very easy to pick off. Service was a little slow and ultimately depends on your waiter. We had to manually ask for the side dishes since they took so long to come out. Oddly enough, they took my order within 5 minutes of sitting down... Would definitely come back to try their other dishes, but also wished they had more than just 3 sides dishes (radish, kimchi, and tofu strips). read more

Han Sang is located in downtown Millbrae so parking can be difficult most of the time, but this also gives you many dining options as well in the surrounding area. The interior is bright and the tables are nicely spaced out. This is a decent sized restaurant but it does fill up quickly during primetime dinner hours. I usually order their Gal Bi Tang with their delicious purple rice. Their entrees come on a tray with the Ban Chan already included as part of this tray. It's a complete meal on a tray which is fun. The meat is so soft, juicy, and falls off the bone. You can just taste the quality of meat, as compared to some other restaurants. The staff have always been polite and efficient with their service. This is a recommended authentic Korean restaurant when you're in the area. read more

I have eaten at Han Sang multiple times for lunch and dinner over the past year. The service and food have been consistently good. I wanted to go to Han Sang for the first time after hearing things about their seolleongtang! They're located in downtown Millbrae. I visited with a friend and we both decided to get the chadol versions of it. The presentation was beautiful; lots of banchan on the side, and our food came out pretty quickly too. Came here with some friends who lived in the area, they recommended this place as one of their favorites and said it was similar to Daeho in SF Japan town. And it definitely didn't disappoint! We ordered the galbijjim which was ~$100 and also the beef tartare. First, the beef tartare was a solid 3/5 stars. The meat was fresh and cold. The strips of pear gave it that crisp and sweetness that perfectly cut the richness of the beef and egg yolk. One thing to point out was the beef was kinda frozen. It's not a huge deal and I understand for raw meat/food safety reasons freezing is necessary. But it was just a slightly weird mouthfeel when biting into slightly icy beef. Now onto the gaibijjim which imo was a solid 4/5. the portion itself was HUGE. three very hungry people shared this and we barely got through half of it. The meat was fall off the bone tender and it was full of beefy and savory richness. The cheese was a nice touch but honestly it was a little too much. I think if they just put half the amount of cheese it would have been a better experience. The noodles inside were completely overpowered by the cheese and they all were broken up. This was kinda sad bc I love it when the noodles suck up all the rich gooey sauce. We ordered medium spicy but it wasn't spicy at all. The sauce was rich, savory, and sweet. Overall this is definitely worth ordering and I'll def be back again for this, I would just tell them to put less cheese next time. As for its comparison to daeho, which is one of my favorite spots in SF. I still find daeho to be better, but also feel like it's not a perfect apples to apples comparison, daeho is more of a stew whereas Hansang is not stew, it was more like meat covered in sauce. I personally prefer the stew version but it's not saying hangsang is not good. Either way both are worth trying but think the price at hansang was better value given the huge portion. The place was decently clean and the service was fast. We arrived early at 530pm and snagged a table quickly. the place soon filled up quickly and when we were leaving there was a line. if you don't want to wait I'd suggest getting there early. read more

One of our favorite regular weekly spots to fill our korean food cravings! The broths are made from scratch with not too much processed additives or msg! The ahjumma serving us is always so friendly and cheerful! They are quick, and if you ask they offer to help cut up and de-bone your galbijim for you. I ordered their Yuk Gae Jang, while my wife ordered their Soft Tofu Soup with Beef Ribs and Rice Cake. The Yuk Gae Jang is a spicy beef brisket soup. It comes with glass noodles, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and egg. The flavor for both the Yuk Gae Jang and Tofu Soup had a good flavor. Though I would say the meat amount for the dishes were a bit lackluster for the price. The banchan could use a bit more variety, as it included only kimchi, fish cake, and radish. Their menu had a good variety of dishes, so mayhaps I'll try their other dishes next time. The Miscellaneous The restaurant is within the Broadway main street, so prepare to take some time to look for parking. The interior of the restaurant is simple, but clean. It is quite spacious, with a good amount of seating. The staff were sincere and professional, with good service. Their menu has a variety of selections. From appetizers, to sul long tang, soup, BBQ, Jjim, and Suyuk-Geongol. If you enjoy trying different Korean food, this is a good place to try. read more

I wouldn't give Han Sang a bad review overall because the food here is honestly great, and everything I've had dining in has tasted excellent. That said, I was disappointed with the Bulgog-Bibimbap I ordered to go. The presentation didn't look like a freshly prepared $27 dish. It came out messy and uneven, and honestly looked more like leftovers than a properly plated meal. I know takeout doesn't always look perfect, but at this price point, I do expect better care and consistency. Perfect spot to eat with a group of friends! I feel like a lot of their foods are good for sharing. For appetizers we ordered the Wagyu egg pancake and leek pancake. The Wagyu egg melted in your mouth. The leek pancake was super crispy and delicious. I loved that the batter wasn't super thick and didn't overpower the pancake. For the mains we shared bossam and galbijim! The bossam came with a variety of side dishes and lettuce for you to wrap. The meat itself was tender and melted in your mouth, not dry at all. Second visit after couple years. This time we are more satisfied. We arrived for dinner around 7 and we got the table right away. It was almost full. Inside is still the same. I like now on the menu they mention if the soup is seasoned or not. Last on our visit it was not mentioned. We ordered Yuk Gae Jang and Bo Ssam. Without realizing I almost ordered the same one I ordered during my first visit. The Yukj Gae Jang is yummy. The BoSsam is also yummy but we feel it is missing oyster which we usually get from other Korean restaurant when we order Bo ssam. The portion is good. The banchan is ok not wow. Pricewise for Bossam it is a bit high I think. Service is ok. Our server is friendly. One odd thing is next to us , the table is for four people and 2 customers sit at the same table. When one need to get out, the other customer has to get out to give room. It is just inconvenience. Other one suggested granularity is min 18% and the amount is on top of total which already include tax . I know this is become the norm but some places still have suggested granularity excluding the tax portion. read more

Was so delicious!! We came here on a Wednesday afternoon, shortly after 11 am, when they open. We ordered two Galbi Tang, and one Mandu Guk. I was watching Singles Inferno yesterday and started craving Galbi Tang and found this amazing place! The lady, presumably the owner, is so sweet and lovely. (Her skin is also so nice!) The Galbi Tang is $23 during their lunch special hours (11 am - 2:30 pm), which is so worth it because they give a lot of meat, and comes on a cute platter with a bowl of rice and banchan. Definitely satisfied our cravings! The Mandu Guk dumplings were so beautifully wrapped and so delicious. There were many dumplings in the bowl. The broth was also so rich and flavorful. The Galbi Tang itself was very filling and we couldn't finish the Mandu Guk so we took the rest of it to go. When we ordered the Mandu Guk along with the two Galbi Tang, she asked us if we're really hungry haha. The restaurant is so beautiful and aesthetic. If you've been to South Korea before, it really will remind you of a restaurant there. The utensils and bowls are all the same too. They had Squid Games posters on the wall and Jinro frogs displayed. So cute! I typed on my Papago app to tell her that her restaurant is so beautiful and she was so thankful! We also told her that the menu and receipt holder are so cute and she said it's supposed to be like a door. I'm guessing a door from a traditional Korean house (Hanok) since that's what it looks like! I appreciate how the theme is so well thought out. It's super close to the 24 Hour Fitness nearby in Millbrae so it's perfect for any gym-goers who want a yummy, high protein, healthy post-workout meal! We love Korean food, so we will definitely be back! Definitely recommend this place. Everything is excellent, from the ambiance to the servings to the warmth you feel from the staff. We were craving Korean food and stumbled upon Han Sang as we were in the area! We ordered a Galbi Jjim and Sul Lung Tang, since those two are amazing choices. I would say that both were really good but not amazing. I think Daeho's Galbi Jjim is better and I've had better Sul Lung Tang before. The service was good! The restaurant wasn't full but it wasn't empty either, so the whole process was smooth and quick!
