Was so delicious!! We came here on a Wednesday afternoon, shortly after 11 am, when they open. We ordered two Galbi Tang, and one Mandu Guk. I was watching Singles Inferno yesterday and started craving Galbi Tang and found this amazing place! The lady, presumably the owner, is so sweet and lovely. (Her skin is also so nice!) The Galbi Tang is $23 during their lunch special hours (11 am - 2:30 pm), which is so worth it because they give a lot of meat, and comes on a cute platter with a bowl of rice and banchan. Definitely satisfied our cravings! The Mandu Guk dumplings were so beautifully wrapped and so delicious. There were many dumplings in the bowl. The broth was also so rich and flavorful. The Galbi Tang itself was very filling and we couldn't finish the Mandu Guk so we took the rest of it to go. When we ordered the Mandu Guk along with the two Galbi Tang, she asked us if we're really hungry haha. The restaurant is so beautiful and aesthetic. If you've been to South Korea before, it really will remind you of a restaurant there. The utensils and bowls are all the same too. They had Squid Games posters on the wall and Jinro frogs displayed. So cute! I typed on my Papago app to tell her that her restaurant is so beautiful and she was so thankful! Super love coming here for hearty lunch that leaves me full and happy. I'm glad Millbrae has an authentic Korean restaurant now! Love their lunch specials on the weekday and I actually think it is quite worth it compared to dinner where prices increase quite a bit. Most of the lunch special main courses come with three small side dishes, which is usually a kimchi, fish, cake, and kinchi radish. It would be nice if they could rotate different side dishes though! Came here for a late Sunday dinner after seeing it all over social media. I don't understand the hype at all because the food was mid and the service was equally just as terrible. I ordered the bibim nengmyun but received the mool nengmyun. There was only one woman serving so it was hard to flag her down. Authentic Korean spot in a casual but modern setting! Came on a Friday for dinner around 6pm. Didn't have to wait which was nice. My favorite dishes were the leek pancake, and the bossam. Both were delicious. The leek pancake was simple but done well and I loved the sauce it came with. The bossam came with lettuce, ssamjang, thinly sliced garlic, jalapeño slices and pickled radishes. The pork belly was juicy and I enjoyed making wraps with all the different accoutrements. The kal kuk soo (beef noodle soup) and the mul-naeng myeon (cold buckwheat noodles) were good too but I wouldn't order them again. The kal kuk soo was a little on the plain side, they have salt and pepper on the table to season the dish yourself. I don't normally like naengmyeon but they made it well! The noodles had a nice texture and came with vinegar and mustard on the side for seasoning. It's a very refreshing dish, it would be great on a hot day! I might try the spicy version next time which looks more flavorful since it comes with a sauce instead of soup. Overall I enjoyed eating here. The service was good and you can ask for refills of the banchan. Their fish cake and radish banchan were pretty good! After about 5 minutes, we thought maybe we had to put our names down on the waitlist even though there were tables available -- and when we tried to do that, they finally seated us. After sitting down, we didn't have any menus and it took about another 5 minutes before they noticed and gave us some. We ordered 2 dishes: galbi jjim with extra meat + cheese and bibim naengmyeon. It took about 15 minutes for our food to come out. Galbi jjim was a 3.5/5. Meat was soft and tender but the rest of the dish was just alright. They also don't torch the cheese in front of you, but that's not something I care too much about. My friends thought the cold noodles were too cold, which I mean, I did think it was a tad colder than what I've had in the past, but nothing too intense. Now that my daughter is 1, every time she has any appointments, we come here to treat her to a Galbi Tang, which is her absolute favorite meal ever! We usually get their Galbijjim. The spice level only goes up to 2, but it is definitely enough to enjoy both the sweetness of the stew with some spice to is. The short ribs they use are on the bigger and meaty side, so it's best to cut them into smaller pieces to make sure all the flavoring gets soaked into the beef itself. We love that their Galbijjim comes with noodles by default, so no needing to add them on the side. They also have a lunch menu for their soups, so if you go on a weekday during lunch hours, their noodle soups/soups are usually $3-$5 off the regular price, which is not bad at all! I ordered the Chadol Sul Long Tang and it was so hearty and warm and all the good things. One of our go to spots for Korean food in the peninsula! Galbijim portion is smaller than daeho from what I remember, so we typically order extra meat and add rice cake for a group of 3-4 to share. Spicy level 1 is tolerable for most without sacrificing the taste. Nice clean restaurant. Parking can be a little challenging despite the small parking lot next door since the area is pretty busy. Service was good. Servers were fast and friendly. Good was a tad bland but that might be why they have the salt and pepper containers in the table. My party prefers Daeho. Said the galbi jim here was sweeter. read more
