Seafood Tofu Soup, $23
Calvin C.

We were disappointed to see a $1.98 "Administration Fee" appear on our bill. Restaurants should be up front about how much they will be charging, even if the additional charges will be small. They also charged $1 for two to go boxes. We recognize that it's a tough time for restaurants but feel that transparency on pricing is very important. Our visit to Minari was around 5pm on a Friday. There was ample seating, and we were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and made recommendations about the menu. The food was good. They served us six different types of banchan. We ordered a seafood tofu soup ($23), chicken bibimbap ($24) and chicken wings ($18). The seafood tofu had a wide variety of seafood and included a small piece of crab and a small raw egg. We also liked the chicken wings, which we ordered with the sweet chili sauce. There's street parking in front of the restaurant for $1.50 per hour. But if you walk around the block to El Camino, the parking is free.

I came here as a party of two with my friend and ordered the cheese corn, spicy bulgogi, and the sundubu jjigae with beef here. I would say the bulgogi is sufficiently spicy and has a massive portion that makes it great for sharing family style! This was my favorite out of the three we ordered! I liked my sundubu, but the broth didn't have much of a anchovy/seafood taste to it? That seems like a minor nitpick, but the flavor adds a lot of depth that you can't really replicate otherwise with any other kind of broth or just water! The corn cheese was decent, this place will scratch the itch of Korean food if you've been craving it.

Pretty decent Korean food for the peninsula, I think there's places in the South Bay that are better value, but not bad at all! The banchan was pretty good - the daikon one was our favorite and had a really aromatic sesame oil flavor. The doenjang jiggae had really interesting maybe homemade tofu, but was a little too salty at the end.

One of the best Korean restaurants I've been to. The staff is really nice and welcoming! The place is very clean and spacious! Really good feng shui! Had kpop music popping, but not too loud that interrupted our conversation. The food was really good! We got galbi (very tasty), tofu soup, mackerel and Kim chee fried rice. All delicious!!! Highly recommend this place! Will def be back!

We went to Minari for a family dinner and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance, service, and most importantly the food were fantastic. I honestly ended up eating more than I planned because everything was just that good. After a few bites of each dish, I already knew we'd be coming back. The restaurant is very kid-friendly our 3-year-old happily ate almost everything we ordered. The doenjang jjigae was bold and deeply flavorful, the chicken kimchi fried rice was subtle yet delicious, and the pancakes were perfectly crispy. Portions are generous and served family-style, which made sharing easy. They also offer several vegetarian-friendly options, and our server was extremely attentive, making sure our dietary restrictions were well taken care of. Highly recommend Minari for a relaxed, family-friendly meal with excellent food.

We came again for a birthday dinner and found out they just started opening up Sundays the last 2 weeks. We over ordered for the 6 of us but most of the dishes were good. The short rib (galbi), bibimbap, and chicken wings were all good. We all thought the 2 tofu soups - veggie and seafood were excessively spicy, very difficult to eat because they were so hot as well as the pork dish. The cheese corn was OK but not something I'd order again. We received 4 bowls of rice with the order and asked for 2 bowls more and the charge was $3 a bowl. Service was iffy. I had to ask for an extra plate, serving spoons and no one refilled our water container. The wait staff checked on us a couple of times and she was friendly. We had lots of leftovers and asked for 3 boxes and a small container for the soup and was charged 50 cents per container. They close early around 8 PM so come early.

Was craving Korean food but K Grill wasn't open yet, and I hadn't had Minari in a couple of years so wanted to give it another try. The food isn't amazing but it's passable. Not sure what it is but K Grill is definitely better. The service was excellent though! I probably wouldn't go back again anytime soon as it's not my taste for Korean food.

30. Tteok-Bokki, 8. Kimchi Fried Rice
Mariel M.

My last meal before I go back on my diet and it did not disappoint at all. Had a craving for korean food, and Minari had everything we were looking for. We ordered the Tteok-bokki, kimchi fried rice, 6 piece wings with the spicy sauce and the plain scallion pancake. The plain pancakes were my favorite! They were really thick, and had a nice crisp! Paired with the sauce, it was amazing. The Tteok-bokki was also really delicious! Perfect balance of sweet and spicy, and the mandu dipped in the sauce was elite! The kinchi fried rice was just okay. Our egg was cooked over hard, and I wish it was on the runnier side. It lacked any kimchi flavor, but still decent paired with our other dishes. The chicken was also just okay. The spicy sauce wasn't too spicy, and was also pretty sweet which I enjoyed. The wings were a really small, but they did give us extra, I'm assuming go compensate, which I appreciated. The fries were surprisingly also really good!! The workers were really kind and checked in on us throughout our meal. My only gripe with this place as someone that drinks abnormally large amounts of water when eating is that the water was self serve, and the cups are super small. I found myself having to constantly get up to refill my water, which wasn't a huge deal, just slightly inconvenient. I wish they provided a pitcher for each table, or a bigger cup. This is a great spot for Korean food, and I will be back!

Came into this place on a Friday and was seated right away. I love the family vibes of this restaurant. Our food was delicious. We honestly ordered anything on the menu that looked good, and it was! One note: they make their spicy dishes ACTUALLY spicy which I loved! But beware if this would be a problem for some. Overall a great meal, we left very satisfied!

Sweet chili chicken wings with french fries
Stephanie F.

My daughter asked for Korean chicken wings for lunch. Since I needed to run an errand in Millbrae, I looked up Korean restaurants nearby and stumbled upon Minari. It was highly rated on Yelp, so we drove to San Bruno to check it out. We were the only patrons initially, but our server greeted us with a smile and was very friendly. My daughter opted for the sweet chili chicken wings while I ordered a kimchi tofu stew. Our server forewarned me that the stew was spicy, which I appreciated. Our food came out quickly and was surprised to see that the chicken wings came with fries. We were served 6 different banchan, along with a raw egg for my tofu stew. Both my daughter and I were pleased with our meals! The food was good, the portions were generous, and the prices were appropriate with friendly service. Our server even asked if we wanted a refill on our banchan, but we were stuffed so I declined.

Japchae
Jerell M.

First time visit, and I admit I hesitated to go because of the higher than typical prices of the items. With that being said, the portion sizes are massive and makes the prices almost justifiable. The flavors were fairly good and authentically korean, but the flavor of the soups felt a bit dull, the texture of the corn cheese wasn't appetizing, and the japchae lacked proteins and comparative size to justify the price. The galbi also wasn't the grade to justify the $38 price point, albeit there were tons of pieces. The servers were very nice and frequently checked on us to refill water/banchan. Very clean and open interior, and had no issue getting our table of six seated right away. Not a bad spot for Korean, especially if local. But there are quite a few other places I may opt for more for prices, quality, and menu options.

Was in the neighborhood and didn't know what to eat so my family and I decided on Asian food and this was the spot that came up upon looking up for a food spot to try. We've had Korean food before and we are BIG fans of Korean food. This place gives off a home like feeling. Service took a while, buy the staff were friendly. We loved the food as it tasted fresh and delicious. Only downside is for the portion and price point it seems to be a bit rather expensive for small portions. My family and I we made it work. We all picked something and decided to share everything. Place of establishment is clean and well kept. Would I come back maybe if I was in the area and I was craving Korean food.

I always come here when the cravings hit, and it always delivers. Food is consistently delicious and comforting every single time. I usually come on weekday evenings, this time was a Tuesday around 6:30pm. We got seated right away - no crowd stress. We ordered japchae (honestly, Minari has the best Japchae I've had anywhere and love how veggie-packed it is), spicy pork, and kimchi fried rice. All hits. The pork was served with thin slices of semi-raw carrots which added a delicious crunch to every bite. The fried rice was on the oilier side, but I liked it, though my husband would've preferred less oil. I've also had the seafood pancake and kimchi jjigae before, both dishes I strongly recommend. The jjigae especially has perfectly fermented kimchi that gives it great depth. As always, service was warm, attentive, and quick with the banchan refills. Parking can be a little tough on the street, but I always find a spot in the lot behind Kuya's on Cypress and Mastick. I recommend this place to all my friends, and it's never let me down! 10/10. Can't wait to come back again and again.

Grill and Tofu House is an excellent, family run establishment that serves up delicious food. The space is very nice and the service is very friendly. One thing I love about any dining experience is getting a lot of different flavors and textures in one meal. The banchan here had seven different dishes! Of course you get your kimchee, bean sprouts, fish cakes and then some other pickled fruits and veggies. They also gave me what seemed like a roasted sardine? In any case, it was delicious! The Dolsot Bibimbap was a hit! Crispy rice, vegetables, beef and a fried egg on top. Plus, some gochujang sauce to go on it! So yummy! I feel like the prices here are pretty standard for the area, but I do think it's 100% worth the money. Check them out if you're in the area!

I went around 8pm on a weekday and place was packedddd, but the service was impressive. All of our dishes came out all at one, within 5-10 minutes after ordering. What I had: Yuk hwe (beef tartare with pears and egg yolk): If you're hesitant about raw beef, please don't be. It's honestly just like eating sashimi. Wagyu meat was incredibly tender, sweet, and melted in my mouth. It was mixed with some kind of seasoning sauce and egg yolk, so savory and addictive I couldn't stop. Highly recommend you should try it if you can eat raw food Bossam: Great but I found it a bit too fatty (meat-to-fat ratio was like 50:50 ). My favorite way to eat was wrapping it in lettuce with garlic (extraaa), jalapeno, kimchi, and ssamjang. It also went well with rice. Big bite was super satisfying Galbi tang: Something we ordered to balance things out (2 previous dishes was just heavy), and it was a perfect decision. The soup was light, clean, and deeply comforting. Beef short ribs were super tender. I like to eat with a big spoon, ribs, rice, kimchi then dipped in the warm soup, perfect!!! I also appreciate that they serve complimentary warm tea, which was perfect for a cold day like today. Portions are generous, we had plenty of leftovers. Would definitely come back.

Literally, the skirt of beef in my bibimbap was less than one spoonful. It was made up by increase amount of veggies either. I know inflation is causing everything to be more expensive, but this feels a bit ridiculous. We'll probably not return, at least not for those items. I have only frequented this location maybe 3x's and wife 3x's separately bringing her friends for their first try. The chicken itself in consistent, but the FRIES are not. bb.q is a franchise and it was my understanding all franchisees were to adhere to corporate guidelines for consistency. I looked into this and my assumption was correct, that all franchisees need to adhere with what corporate hands down. As for the San Bruno location it's apparent they may not be adhering to guidelines regarding the type of fries they should be using. Back when they first opened in Oct/Nov 2024 they were using the correct fries, but somewhere down the road they changed them. When I first noticed the change I mentioned it to whoever was in charge and their response then was they had run out of the coated fries and were using a different type as a substitute. My sister-in-law who frequents the Apple Park location (nearly every two weeks) with us, went to the San Bruno location with her daughter and came back complaining; the fries weren't the same and although the chicken was cooked perfectly, it didn't have sufficient sauce. I said regarding the fries, "really? they told me they were out last week and had to substituted it for another. I would have thought they would have resolved it by the next order." A couple weeks later my wife who can't help talking about how good bb.q chicken is, brought one of her friends to the San Bruno location due to the shorter distance. Naturally my wife was deeply disappointed because the fries are what she bragged about most because they pair so well and really compliment the chicken. Two weeks later I had a craving for bb.q and stopped by the San Bruno location also due to distance and ordered the Lunch Special (my definite go to!!). The chicken was great as ever, but again, the fries were not the same. I asked the person in charge after repeated visits the fries are still not as before. I was then told they were no longer using the coated fries. So, unless corporate gets involved to make a change, I will no longer frequent nor recommend the San Bruno location. It appears to me the franchisee wants to cut back on cost at the expense of the brand image. Hopefully someone at corporate investigates and makes the necessary change. As a customer who has found consistency in Las Vegas, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Hawaii, why not San Bruno? The staff at San Bruno is still very nice and the chicken consistent. Again, my only complaint is the fries that have been substituted for the real McCoy.
