This is the "madre" of all asian markets, formally a big box mervins, its an adventure in and of itself just wandering through here. There is a large korean restaurant in the center of the market, that was outstanding. They also have an amazing bakery, full of asian - french delights are quite delicious. If you get a chance while visiting daly city or Colma, i highly recommend you get yourself into this market, its awesome! Service was very good as well.
Long overdue. Open spaced with an abundance of selections! Dangerously filled the cart without any reservations. "Assorted Sushi" was the one thing that left a lasting impression. Fairly priced. Perfect amount of rice with excellent texture and seasoning. Skipped the restaurants for the evening and had a feast right at home. Wasn't settling for less either. Don't feel like cooking and dining out sound unappealing? Jagalchi is the answer! With all the new Asian grocery stores popping all over the bay, it's up there on my list. If only we had more locations and that's no joke.
===TL;DR=== - Bulgogi kimbap ===TMI=== Price is fair for what it is but I didn't really like it. Overall the kimbap was very dry. Bulgogi was dry and it felt like some ground beef instead. I also had to pick out 2 debris and bit into something hard which was a horrible experience. Team Kukje for their kimbap instead! IYKYK. The store alone was alright. I think they're very spacious but they don't have products or price points that especially stood out. Not a fan of their layout either. Do like their frozen meat section especially for hotpot cuts, good price point for the quantity.
So many take out options, all the sushi you typically eat serve fresh in take out boxes, all kinds of Korean and Japanese hot food ready to go at 25% of the price you would pay at a real Restaurant. My sushi was fresh and scrumptious. Too many options here! Lots of Asian grocery. I was only here for a snack but will definitely be back!
Always have to do a stopover whenever I am in town--they seem to be the only store that carries Osulloc tea. They always seem to have what I am looking for--the store itself is clean and spacious, with ample room to wander around and browse. Love stocking up on snacks and drinks here before driving back to NV.
Their restaurant and cafe was delightful and surprisingly good! Lunch special of galbi ribs and entree of eel. Bonchon was delicious and fresh! Eel was perfectly seasoned not too sweet. Fresh!
This review is solely for the fresh deli food. I've had the kimbap here a couple times. While very reasonably priced $6-7, they seem to be just okay. The ones at Kukje Supermarket taste more flavorful. This one lacks the same sesame oil aroma on the seaweed that I expect from kimbap. It also seems like they don't roll their kimbap by hand here. The rice is also a bit bland. Next, I tried the beef bibimbap. This one comes with half a container of rice underneath. The amount of meat is very little in proportion to the rice. The best part of this dish was the variety of veggies especially the bracken. There is also a packet of sesame oil buried inside, so watch out for that. The biggest problem with this dish was the rice. I'm not sure if I picked the wrong batch, but the rice tasted like it was starting to spoil, like it's been sitting outside all day. It would've been easily overlooked if you mixed all the gochujang sauce together with it. Maybe, the bibimbap should be stored in the heated or refrigerated display case instead of out in the open. I circled back to the fresh kimbap section after my meal. I saw a rat scurry across the floor and go under the display case. Another customer and I exchanged looks of belief. Now I don't feel so good about my meal I just had.
I was super excited to check out jagalchi. There have been tons of info out on socials about their opening, and my expectations were pretty high. The shopping experience collectively is rather odd. The entire store is very dimly lit and it's a strange experience. At first, it feels like an upscale food court, filled with upscale large kiosk throughout the store. They have an amazing Sushi counter, and amazing meat counter. Almost anything you could possibly think of can be found, or freshly cut to order. Just as you're walking around, there's small areas where you might find fresh noodles, or some definite, unique food finds like fresh tteokbokki. Yes I needed to buy this! They have an entire beauty section that's filled with the variety of products, many of them overpriced, but also hard to find in the average marketplace. The fresh fruit area is small, but abundant. This is definitely worth a visit, if nothing more than the experience. You will find some amazing and unique items that are usually only found abroad.
Jagalchi has settled down since it's opening, so it was a pleasant visit. Upon first impression, there's a noticeably bigger selection of cooked items, ready-to-eat meals, bakery goods, and café-style drinks all in one place. What makes it especially convenient is how much it combines under one roof, which is a full grocery store, seafood and meat selection, prepared foods, bakery, and coffee/matcha counter. You can realistically do a full grocery run, grab a meal, and sit down for dessert or a drink without leaving the building. The fresh food section is probably the biggest draw. There's a strong mix of Korean staples alongside broader Asian options, and the seafood selection in particular feels closer to a market experience than a standard supermarket. Even if you're not shopping for ingredients, it's worth visiting just to explore the prepared foods.
Finally got to come here and had a good experience. It was hard not to get a cart because I ended up with so any items. The place was big and clean. Many selections to choose from. I would say I like their sushi the best. But pricy but worth it. They have stalls for a lot of take out food. Some were good and some were okay. I would not get this banchan items like the fish cake . It was a little underwhelming.

Fun upscale korean grocery store with a restaurant inside, bakery, skincare section, and hot food area. The selection of items is huge here and there's definitely something for everyone! I always find myself wishing I had more stomach space whenever I come here. The hot food is reasonably priced, though some items can be more pricey, but others are not bad (kimbap for only $6). The food is kept warm which is nice, compared to marketplaces where the food is kept refrigerated and you have to microwave it yourself. It's super fun walking through the grocery store as they have so many fun items you don't see normally. Produce selection is decent. Lots of imported fruits. My fave find has been the Knotted frozen donuts! The aisles are pretty big so even when it's busy it doesn't get too crowded. Have yet to try the restaurant inside (Pogu) but it looks very nice. Wish I lived closer to here so I could go more often!
I love visiting Jagalchi whenever I'm in the area because there's always something that fits whatever mood I'm in. If I'm craving sashimi or seafood, they've got me covered. If I want quality meat, their selection is fantastic, honestly better than any other Korean market nearby. Whether it's snacks or prepared foods, everything I've tried has been delicious. And the bakery alone is enough to make my mouth water every time I walk by.

My fridge is empty, so I came here to stock up on some fresh meat. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the meat department. As you can see, this wasn't just one tray, most of the meat trays had the same problem. The trays are slightly tilted toward the front so you can see the meat better, but all the bloody liquid had collected along the front edge while the meat was sitting on top of it. It looked like the frozen meat had been thawed, with all that liquid just sitting there. Some of the meat had also turned gray. Honestly, it looked really gross and didn't look fresh or appetizing at all. I walked around the meat department twice, but not once did a staff member come over to help. They were just standing there chatting with each other. What is going on with the meat department? I ended up grabbing a box of pre-marinated beef and a few vegetables. I walked around the other departments, and everything else was still good and looked well maintained. read more
This place is like a foodie disneyland. So many options of international snacks and beverages. They have many options of hot and cold foods to grab to go. There's also a nice bakery cafe with many incredible options I have yet to try. I grabbed some premade food for lunch since I was in a hurry. And yes I spent $50 on lunch which I shouldn't have because when am I getting the chance to come back again when I'm in the east bay. Sashimi 4/5 The yellow tail and salmon were delicious but I ended up finding a bone in my salmon unfortunately. Bulgogi Kimbap 4/5 Rice was a little dry. The pricing is very competitive because other places are a couple to a few dollars more. Portion is pretty big. Kalbi Mandu 4.5/5 Wow, chefs kiss. Juicy and tender. Nicely seasoned. Bulgogi Dosirak 3/5 Very disappointed. I couldn't finish it. Bulgogi was very tough and dry. Rice was dry. Japchae was okay. The pickled sides were the best. They are very clean and that's something I very much appreciate. There's still a lot of food options that I have yet to try and definitely coming back to find better options. read more

The inari was the best here. There were a ton of options food wise. It was busy on this day and I shouldn't have eaten before coming here. Hot food options galore. Desserts, drinks, groceries, cosmetics, bakery, it's a one stop shop. I tried the mochi and those so good too. For me I will be back especially for the inari and sushi. Really fresh fish and rice was seasoned just right. read more
This is the Korean market inside Serramonte Center mall in Daly City. The market is HUGE! Lots of hot food like bento boxes and short-rib bowls. Also lots of sushi options. Also got a really cute panda dessert. There is a fancy restaurant inside the market called Pogo that I didn't try. There's also a bakery with the usual Asian desserts. There isn't much tables so we ate in tables in the mall. It was kind of bad luck that there's construction in the mall right now so it was very loud and not pleasant to eat in the mall. I did take another bento box with salmon to go (the first one I had was fried chicken) and seaweed salad & sushi. Lots of parking so I will probably come back another time when I have the whole day to spend. read more

I wasn't to impressed here. Most of the items seem average and looks like items that you can get at 85°bakery. It's located inside the Korean store so you can stop by after shopping. There's also tables for sitting down to enjoy the food if you like. I ordered their drink special since it was $3. I don't remember what it's called. I also ordered some buns and cookies, but wasn't too impressed by them. Costumer service sucks. The worker who made my drink let someone else take my drink. They ordered after me as well and when I let the other costumer know she had my drink, she did not care. The worker didn't even check their receipt to see if it was the correct drink and did not care to help. LUCKILY, we both got the same drink so I only had to wait a bit longer for "my" drink. Overall, underwhelming and extremely disappointed in the customer service. DO BETTER!!! read more
I wish this grocery store was closer to me. The sushi/fish options were fresh and looked amazing! The store was layed out nicely separating the nori, fish cakes, drinks, ramen, etc. Feeling too lazy to cook? The food court has plenty to offer. Kalbi, gimbaps, bibimbaps, etc. You can find everything here from skin care, groceries, food containers, produce, cookware, baked goods, to wet wipes! Attached to Serramonte malll with multiple entrances and ample parking. I didn't take enough photos because I was too busy looking at all the variety of snacks, food, and drinks! read more
This was my second time visiting Jagalchi and I have to say that there was huge improvement between the visits, specifically on food quality. Last time I visited, the food did not taste very fresh, the sushi & the hot food. This time, the rice was not undercooked, the fish were firm and not water logged, and everything that was supposed to be served hot was! The staff was also very friendly & attentive. They were very proactive if they happened to hear you looking for something and would help to direct us. The aisles were wide so it allowed for a relaxed environment even though the store was extremely full and busy. Also, the prepared foods were a great value. Less than $8 for Kimbap is a steal in this economy! read more
Someone described Jagalchi to me as the Erewhon of Korean grocery stores. It feels high-end, it's hip, and overall a pleasant place to get your shopping done for the week. This was my first visit and the parking area was nearly full when we arrived. Prepare to drive defensively. The store was quite busy but service was just as quick. When I ordered food from their dining area, there were boxed meals ready to go! I never had to wait more than five minutes for anything. Browsing through the aisles, I always had plenty of space. The aisles were wide. The sections are organized intuitively and the fresh food section was aesthetically pleasing ( don't really know if anyone will actually buy the fish head on display). Prices seemed to be on the higher end for fruits but they were nicely wrapped so there's that. There were a couple of pop-up stores for beauty, which added a nice touch to the overall vibes of the place. There are restaurants inside the grocery store, as well as a bakery and tables to sit and enjoy your food. Overall, I enjoy shopping here and I could easily spend way more time than I intended getting lost in this place. read more
Today's goal was to dine at Pogu; a restaurant that both my wife and daughter frequent (without me...). See other Yelp review (5 stars experience). Quality/Quantity - Upscale Korean Supermarket. Basic Korean departments - Grocery, seafood, meat, deli, produce, rice bakery (independently owned), etc. Was disappointed with their wine, liqueur, and beer department. For an upscale supermarket, I expected a larger selection with more premium products. Ambiance - Not busy at all today. Neither the supermarket nor the restaurant. Beautiful huge new supermarket, you can tell it is very upscale as they spared no expense. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Self service, including a self service check out. Price - Expect prices to reflect quality. I was actually surprised that some of the prices seemed very reasonable. I look forward to trying all their different food courts, delis, and other restaurants, especially your oyster bar, etc. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since March of 2025. Cool Korean supermarket with lots of options including lots of kimchi, Korean packaged foods, drinks, ice cream, noodles, mandu, butcher counter, a hot food deli, a restaurant, POGU and a bakery, Basquia inside. There's also a section where you can get K-beauty. This may be only me. But my gripe is that while all these things are available, they are all separated. Meaning if I wanted to get something at Basquia, I can't be shopping groceries at the same time because it's fenced off and with different cashiers. Same with this specific beauty counter. Different cashiers and area. Hard to park my shopping cart and go into these different sections. Fun place to browse and buy otherwise. Wish it wasn't so inconvenient to navigate. I am giving this place a 3.75. The market is clean, organize and there's a lot of cool food products, Korean soju, a restaurant in the center ( which I would love to try), a gluten free bakery, cosmetic area, pre-packaged food and to-go food area, oyster bar and a section where you can buy high end sushi, sashimi and uni. We went to the gluten free bakery Basquia. Ordered the Strawberry Latte, Strawberry Milktea, Iced Dolgona Coffee, and the trending Chewy Dubai Chocolate Cookie. I'd skip the Strawberry Latte and Strawberry Milktea, nothing special. Enjoyed the coffee and the Dubai Chocolate Chewy cookie. It's like a small truffle with coconut and pistachio cream. It's very rich. One piece is nice to share. There was other pastries, the line went fast. I'd go back for another cookie:) read more
An ex once told me I was a streaky eater. I knew that and just the other day, I had Korean food, and a couple days later, here I am on Korean food cravings, so I ended up here, at Jagalchi, one of the largest Korean food emporiums in the Bay Area. It's my first time since it opened a little under a year ago in Daly City and my first impression is how huge it is, how nice it is, sort of like how Nordstrom meets Home Depot, except that it's all about food. It's an all-Asian extravaganza heavily tilted towards Korean, but it's also got a touch of Japanese, with Oriental products and wide selections in all kinds of diverse sections. I wonder why it took me all this time to explore this place considering I consider myself the Marco Polo of food indulgences. read more
This was my second visit in a couple of months. Although the store isn't very close to my place, it's easily accessible. The parking area was nearly full when I arrived, and there were numerous stop signs along the way. Upon arrival, the store was quite busy, but things moved swiftly at the meat section. Browsing through the aisles and sampling some free food was a pleasant experience. My initial plan was to buy frozen fish cakes, but I ended up with a shopping cart half full. I appreciate the organized layout of the sections. The fresh food section is particularly delightful, and the prices are reasonable. There are a couple of pop-up stores, which add a nice touch. The restaurant inside the grocery store also looks appealing. Thecfresh meat section and frozen food area were neat. One part may be nice to have is live seafood or may be more fish options. Overall, I enjoy shopping at this store compared to some other Korean grocery stores with narrow aisles. read more

I like this market. It has a lot of nice selections of veggies, fruits and snacks. When I first came years ago it was always super packed but now the crowds have died down. The food Mart is also really nice. The sushi is fresh with not hard rice and I really enjoy trying the various side dishes. read more

Probably a good thing I live a 45 min drive from this else it would take all of my money. What can't you get here? - Packaged goods (neatly labeled in sections with "dumplings", "deserts", "soy sauce" for us monolingual shucks) - prepared hot food like kimbap, galbi beef (that my friend said was almost as good as Kunjip's) - fresh seafood and sushi - interior restaurant (need to come back) - interior cafe (with the viral Dubai mochi cookies and banana pudding that I like better than Magnolia's bc it's less sweet) Logistics: - everything indoor but there is some cafe seating if you want to eat your prepared or cafe food asap or need to do a little work - massive strip mall parking lot in front that was still full on a weekend, be prepared to drive defensively read more

I came here on 6/21 to check out the new beauty section. No staff informed me of the promotion they were having until after I paid and left. Apparently they had a raffle ticket for purchases $50 or more. I had just spent $47 and was not informed of this otherwise I would have picked up another face mask. I only found out after I got home and watched someone's tiktok talk about it. One of the girls that I asked for assistance to find a product was also so rude. She gave me a "don't ask me type of look" when I asked her where the Medicube section was. She just silently stormed off and walked somewhere so I thought she didn't want to help me. Then she stood in front of the aisle and said ITS RIGHT HERE! so loudly across the store. I felt so uncomfortable. I managed to get her name from another employee after i asked who is she. Her name is Michelle. I only gave 2 stars because I like the products and i like the concept of the skin machine. But service wise was just awful. I hope they fix this soon and retrain some employees. Some were overly nice and helpful, some were very rude and not welcoming. I don't think I'll be coming back. I had better service at Yesstyle in Milpitas or Candy Doll in SF. All sell the same items. read more
Despite a constant pummeling of YouTube videos from young trend-centric vloggers, It's taken me a while to get here because I'm not a fan of shopping mall crowds. I came the afternoon before New Year's Eve, and to my utter surprise, it was not quite as densely populated as the videos led me to believe. The first thing I noticed was how spacious it was. Formerly a JC Penney, there was no indication of its discount retail legacy. Rather this glossy store evokes Whole Foods and higher-end markets of that ilk. Everything was overwhelmingly organized and didactically presented that it was hard not to spend time just browsing. There were walls of shelves devoted to fish sauces, chips, and ramyun. The variety was mind-boggling. The seafood and meat selections were thorough, and the sushi collection was exhaustive enough to make Don Quijote look paltry by comparison. No surprise the prepared foods were in need of replenishment. People were waiting for the next bibimbop bowl with heightened anticipation. I probably should've paid more attention to the beauty product section because I always need help. A huge Korean restaurant named POGU sits in the middle, and I did have lunch here (review: https://yelp.to/-GPk61ucy5). I think the prices overall were what at least I expected. No bargains but this doesn't pretend to be a discount supermarket either. Parking wasn't so bad, though I hate the labyrinth patterns of the roads here. I love that more and more large Asian markets are opening in the Bay Area. Jalgachi surprisingly has great deals on meat. I picked up Wagyu and also grabbed marinated short ribs on sale. They usually have good prices on unagi as well. (see pictures for price) I didn't really interact with the staff, so I can't comment much on service, but the cashier was efficient and quick. The store itself is big, clean, and has multiple entrances, including one connected to the mall. They also have a ready-made food area where you can get steamed buns, rice cakes, kimbap, and more. On top of that, there's a Korean restaurant right in the center of the supermarket. Overall, I love it jalgachi is now one of my go-to stops when shopping for Asian food, especially Korean groceries. read more
Love everything about this market! I ended up needing to waste a few hours around Serramonte & decided to get a bite to eat at Jagalchi... best decision I made that day. The market is very clean, very organized, staff is very nice. & they're ready to eat meals are top notch! The have a bakery & a restaurant that both looked super delicious. We didn't get to go this day... but should be back in the area within a week & am making this a priority stop to try more goodies! read more
Now that the frenzy had died down, we finally came to find out what all the buzz is about. It is the Disneyland of supermarkets - clean, neat, organized, and friendly. LOCATION: They are located at Serramonte center. We came on a Saturday a few minutes before opening, and there's plenty of parking. PRODUCE: I've never seen such a neat and organized produce section. Most of the fruits and vegetables are wrapped and packaged. Very convenient, but I'm the type that likes to select each green bean individually (yep, I'm that annoying person at the grocery store :). They have a large variety of Asian and American produce. I picked out a few Asian fruits and veggies to try out. They were very fresh. GROCERIES: They have a huge selection of noodles, teas, snacks, spices, etc. There is also a "From Korea" section, which had very similar products, so I'm a little confused about that. PACKAGED MEALS: I really enjoyed walking by their deli section and watching the ladies hand wrap the mandus, and the cook make kimchi fried rice. The meals are then packed and put out on warming shelves. You can purchase items for home or eat them at a small dining area in their bakery. We got pork dupbap, meat mandu, and kimchi fried rice. I recommend all of these - they were so good I wish I bought more to bring home. STREET FOOD: There's a street food area where you can get freshly made snacks to go. Most of the items looked fried. SEAFOOD & OYSTER BAR: They have sushi grade seafood here and do they look fresh. There's also freshly made sushi packages to go. The Oyster Bar looked inviting, but not my thing. MEATS: Lots of fresh meats and shabu-shabu meats. BAKERY: There's a bakery inside the market place. You get a tray and select items from their counters. There's lots of sulpang (steamed cupcakes), breads, cakes, and drinks. There's a dining area with seats and sofas. It's a really nice area that's bright and relaxing. POGU: There's a fancy restaurant inside the market place, but we didn't try it. I'm a little curious about it, but the reviews (I trust my Yelpers) didn't persuade me enough. Love this store. It's clean, it's huge, and I love the different variety of things to eat. I love the tepanyaki type rare meat selection to take home and their endless sushi/sashimi selection is the bomb. They look fresh and reasonably priced. Their cooked korean bowls dishes are delicious. We ended up buying a couple of them. Its convenient when you're on the go. In the middle of this huge store, they offer area to sit and dine and an area where they have korean skin care products for purchase. If you're into keeping your skin healthy and looking young, This is a good place to check out. Since we live about 45 minutes away, we made sure our trip was worth the drive. Of course we ended up buying more than what we were expecting, but i truly believed that our trip here was fun, engaging, and unique experience. We would love to visit Jagalchi in the near future again. read more
