By 8:51, the owner (?) came over and said they don't have any more bread for banh mi and asked if we wanted anything else. At this point the garlic noodles were already done so we ended up asking for a refund for the banh mi but felt it was really odd that they didn't say anything when they started making the order. When it's cold, I always crave pho, and this is my go-to place since it's close to home and clean with a nice dining area. The three of us ordered two bowls of pho, a grilled pork vermicelli, and one Vietnamese iced coffee. The young waitress doesn't speak Chinese, so if you talk to her in Chinese, she won't understand you--but it's not that she's rude. Our food came out very quickly, which I appreciated because I was hungry. There's plenty of parking, so that's never an issue. They now have a kiosk where you can place your own order if you prefer. Service was decent; owner brought over waters and the food came out in a timely manner. The portion size for the price was very reasonable; a lot of vermicelli noodles, veggies(lettuce, pickled carrots and daikons, bean sprouts and cucumbers), 2 grilled pork chops, 3 chicken wings(drums and wings) and 1 egg roll. Overall the dish was just okay - didn't wow me other than the portion size. The pork chops were marinated well and grilled well, not dry at all. The highlight of the bowl was the chicken wings, those were cooked really well - light, crispy, hot and juicy! The one let down was the eggroll.....I didn't finish this since it had a funky taste...not sure if it was the seasoning or something else. This family owned restaurant is tucked in the corner just to the left of Starbucks. It can get pretty busy around lunchtime due to its surrounding and a lot of people who work nearby drop in for a bite. Their Bun Rieu is hands down one of my all time favorites, I seriously crave it all the time! I hope they never change the recipe! The portion is one size but generous, and I always leave feeling full and satisfied. The broth is packed with rich, savory flavor. I tried this place one time before this visit, (ordered 2 Bahn Mi sandwiches - combo and pork), and had a great experience that I thought to try their large bowl of Pho Ga, fried egg rolls, and an extra side of broth this time around. After opening it up, to me, it was barely a size small portion as there were less than 7 cut pieces of chicken inside. I wasn't provided Hoisin or Sirracha sauces for the soup or pickled carrots and daikon with the egg rolls which I had asked for. This dish was OK. Flavorful grilled pork and mild garlic taste noodles. It wasn't greasy enough. The tips of the garlic noodles were burnt, which was good. It needed a lot more garlic flavor. Also missing were some sort of vegetables. Green onions (scallions), Vietnamese picked carrots or daikon (radish) would have been nice. For the bun rieu, the soup was tasty and the portion was big, however the noodles were a bit undercooked. The sandwich was very good and packed with meat. I got the milk tea to go with the combo and their milk tea is Hong Kong style with condensed milk which was also very good. We sat closer to the back of the restaurant and it was pretty loud. I had gone to the restaurant to pick up a DoorDash order. The staff member at the front said, "Your order is not ready yet" when I showed them my pickup order. After that, they made me wait--I waited about half an hour. The food still wasn't ready. Other people came, picked up their food, but I was still waiting. I asked again, thinking it shouldn't be this delayed, why my food still wasn't ready. Even after asking, the staff member just automatically responded, "Your food is not ready yet," despite me waiting for 30 minutes. Then, I told them--look, I already waited half an hour. When they properly checked my order. before I even arrived at the restaurant, the food was ready, sitting in a corner. But they made me wait all this time for no reason. I really didn't like their service at all--the staff was so unprofessional, making me sit and even after I asked again, they still ignored me. Their service was absolutely zero. This kind of service causes customers to not receive their food on time, their food gets cold, and drivers are also unable to deliver the food on time. It affects the drivers' accounts as well, and customers do not receive their food on time even after paying for it. We came to dine in because the ambiance looked inviting. We've had doordashed bunh mi from here so we were wondering why no one dines here. And we found out why. The pho is bland. The beef stew is worse. The spring rolls tasted stale. We were the only people in there and service was terrible and slow. And there were a minimum of 8 people working lol. It was not really steaming hot-which is the way I like my pho. They skimped on the toppings like not much fresh basil-just one branch! Broth taste-okay. I've been wanting to go here for a while now. I walked in, and it was packed.  The place was super busy.   There were so many items to choose from,  it was hard not to  make my own sampler.  The place is simply decorated, but ig ready for a post.   I was greeted right away and placed my order for to go.    I ordered: 1. Iced Vietnamese coffee - I was surprised it was made the traditional way,  pour over.   A lot of places nowadays just have it ready to pour over ice.  This was the perfect pick me up for lunch.   Sweet with just the right amount of punch. 2.  Fried egg rolls - So crispy, it doesn't even need the sauce.  The wrapper they used was different and gave you an extra crunchiness. 3.  Grilled beef over rice with egg roll -  The beef was super tender and flavorful.  I liked that for once, it didn't come with a salad but instead possibly picked carrots and daikon?     Overall,  the food was amazing. For $8.50, it was about half the size of many full bahn mi sandwhiches around.!there was only 1 piece of ham and no pate or pork inside. This location used to be a Korean sando and bento box place that just didn't make it. Sad that they didn't survive but happy to see a much needed Vietnamese place in the plaza. Their menu is pretty simple and has all the basics you would associate with Vietnamese cuisine. Most people grab a sandwich to go. Wanting to try a little bit of everything, I ordered: Cold Cut Banh Mi ~this is the OG to measure all sandwiches by and I would say it was dry, not enough pate Crispy Pork Chop Sandwich ~marinated chopped pork that's kinda lightly deep fried but not heavily battered Pork Belly with Kimchi Sandwich ~a Korean take on the banh mi but I can pretty much make this at home Combo #1 Rice Plate $17.75 ~comes with grilled chicken and grilled pork, a fried egg roll and a fried egg, you can also choose rice or vermicelli Bun Bo Hue $15.95 ~this was kinda disappointing: not spicy enough, pork blood and just overall was not authentic but a close copy cat version Sandwiches were $9.50 and they're still running their promo to buy 4 and get 1 free -- so $38 for 5 sandwiches. I'll let you do the math to see if it's worth it. The sandwiches are good for a light meal but be prepared to wait or go do your shopping at Luckys and then come back for pick up. After shopping across the street at the mall, I looked up some places to eat nearby and Viet Time popped up. It had good reviews, prices, and looked relatively new so I wanted to try it! I wanted to try their banh mis, and fortunately, they had a tofu sandwich as a vegan option. It is $8.50 alone or $12 with a drink combo. I ordered mine without mayo. It took nearly 20 minutes for my order to come out. They looked busy, but the pho bowls flew out more quickly. When my sandwich finally came out, I couldn't be more disappointed. The bread is a nice size, but hardly toasted at all and was too soft and had no crunch. There was NO jalapeno and they put the most insulting skinny piece of cucumber. Please refer to my photo posted -it's honestly really sad they thought it was ok to use that piece of cucumber. Finally, they added the saddest sprig of cilantro on top. What is even the point?? This is the most pathetic banh mi I've ever seen. The only redeeming thing about the sandwich is that the tofu itself is delicious, fried, crunchy, and of good quality, but everything else was laughable. All they had to do was toast the bread a bit longer, add in an APPROPRIATE amount of cucumber & cilantro, and add a few slices of jalapenos. HARD pass on this place. I know this is a newer location, so you have time to fix these mistakes. But I won't be back. read more
