They added $4.25 each total $8.50 for total of 5 shrimps. there is 3 shrimps on one order and 2 shrimps on another. Noodle portion was 1/2 way filled on small box. Excellent Thai restaurant and super clean with such friendly staff. The kind gentleman, Phil, was patient with me since it was my first time. Because I ordered a pretty good set of food and had to wait a bit, he automatically offered my fresh cold water as I waited. Once I received my to-go order, I was surprised with an extra Thai iced tea which was so kind and generous. This made me super happy because the drink itself is my favorite Thai iced tea to date. It's creamy and has silky texture. I thoroughly enjoyed their Pad Sew Ew which was bold in flavor and darker than most of the others I've had. I think they put in extra of the sauce in this dish because it's more pronounced and tastier. The beef is cooked perfectly as well as the broccoli. The crispy tofu is fresh and goes perfectly with the sweet chili sauce. The Tom Kha soup was delicious and had a nice creamy thick texture. I loved the red chili that was included inside because it provided a nice subtle heat which also made the mushrooms and chicken stick out with more flavor. Overall, the food here is fantastic and definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants right now. The food is fresh, the service is so nice and friendly, the place is clean with an urban decor. Maybe there's just a single chef but it took about 30 mins for our food to order. Once the food arrived, I was excited since portions looked huge. However after the first bite, I was disappointed. I order the pad see ew, and it could've used more flavor. My friends spicy basil wasn't even spicy although they asked for it spicy. It also didn't have much flavor and they added tons of chili flakes on top. It seemed like food was made to be non-spicy maybe to cater to the pallet of other guests. But in my opinion, if a customer asks for spicy then the dish should be made spicy. I am still looking for a great Thai place in South San Francisco. Aww, man, this place is yummy! I've been searching for a papaya salad like the one I had in Pahoa, HI for a decade and finally found it with with Issan Style. So good, savory full of flavor. Unfortunately, with as much as I love Thai food, these folks just aren't honorable. I will preface this review by saying I always give a business owner the opportunity to correct something that's wrong before writing a negative review. Additionally, you will see there are not negative reviews associated with my profile . I ordered for delivery, had a receipt that showed buy one get one free for three dishes, and showed completed payment. Yet, what was delivered was not what was ordered and paid for, and was three dishes short. I politely called the business in order to avoid leaving a negative online review and tried to work with them to resolve it. I even said that I didn't need it to be resolved on the same day. Instead, the man I spoke to over three times, chose to use the time to focus on what he thought I did wrong. He repeatedly insisted that it was user error despite what my receipt showed. I even sent him three screenshots, each of which showed buy one get one free,and the adjusted price, meaning I had proof! Unfortunately, it was more important to him to win the argument than the customer. I had been ordering from this restaurant for many years, including the current ownership and the prior ownership. They will never see me again. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid ordering delivery from them. Even a receipt showing what you ordered is apparently not sufficient to receive it. If the man I spoke to, was not the owner, I would appreciate hearing from the owner as my disappointment remains high! read more

Picked up some Pad Thai to-go from Saap Thai Kitchen for a quick lunch. The Pad Thai was pretty good overall. The noodles were cooked well, and the sauce had a nice balance of sweet and savory. Great flavor. Issan style with pungent spices and flavor. Four spice levels: mild, medium, spicy, extra spicy. Very attentive waiter answering questions and very accommodating to requests. Their Thai tea is strong and delicious. They also have a drink with half Thai tea, half vietnamese coffee. Tom yum is flavorful and just enough heat; we ordered medium. (I could have gone hotter and will try something spicy next time) Papaya salad was fresh and tangy. The tofu is a favorite. Super crispy. Cute inside with line murals but pretty small. One of my favorite dishes was the Isaan Style Papaya Salad, made of shredded papaya, carrots, tomatoes, and green beans, mixed with a funky, salty fermented fish dressing. The Ginger Garlic Squid was a simple stir-fry of onions, peppers, woodear mushrooms, and squid in a light ginger garlic sauce; and the Massaman Curry was a thick yellow coconut curry with potato chunks and chicken breast slices. Finally, the classic Pad Thai was made of thin rice noodles stir-fried with egg, shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts, and green onions, all drenched in a sweet and sour sauce. Overall, this wasn't the best Thai food I've had, as the plating was rustic and the flavors were simplified. Loved the decorations, it was very cute inside! It was small, but it wasn't busy. I will say, the service was a bit slow and lacking. The server was so nice but it seemed takeout orders were prioritized over dining in. It was a bit chaotic and confusing. It was difficult to get our waiters attention for food and once we did, one of the dishes we wanted was out. We sat down at 12:30 PM so it was surprising that they were out. We also ordered mango sticky rice and apparently had taken the last one. We didn't end up eating till around 1:15, and we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant. When we got our dishes, sadly I was underwhelmed with the Pad Thai. It was good! But compared to a lot of other spots I've had in Bay Area it doesn't feel right to give 5 stars. We were looking for a a family style restaurant to eat at on the way to the San Francisco Airport, so I found Saap Thai Kitchen as it is close to the airport and easy on/off the 101 freeway. We came in pretty early for dinner, around 5pm, so the restaurant was not busy. We were greeted and seat right away. We ordered the Tum Yum Soup (delicious and not overly spicy and seasoned perfectly), Papaya Salad - Issan Style (has anchovy and tamarind sauce, very good), Pad See Ew w/ Chicken (could use a little more flavor, but not bad), Red Curry w/ Pork (slightly bland, could use more red curry sauce and less coconut milk) and Spicy Basil Pork Belly (great blend of flavors and and only mildly spicy). The Spicy Pork Belly was our favorite dish overall. Prices were reasonable for the portion size and being in the city. We would definitely come back to try their other dishes the next time we are in the area. read more

I'm so excited for this new neighborhood Thai restaurant. I noticed the new signage while driving by and decided to check out this place. The inside is very clean and has a beautiful mural on the wall. Our server was quick to provide us with placemats and menus. After a couple of visits, I'm very happy with the food and service. The lady that helped us at both visits was very friendly and checked on us often. The basil with crispy pork belly is a favorite with nice bite size pieces and a very umami sauce. Prawn rolls are simple, but delicious. The pad see ew was nicely sauced and tasty. I like that they have lunch specials too. Save room for dessert as the mango with sticky rice is good too. Once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted and seated right away. This mom and pop restaurant is kind of small. It seats around 20 people. We ordered the Thai iced coffee, spicy basil duck lunch special , pork pad thai, and mango sticky rice. The Thai iced coffee and the pad thai with pork were the highlights of our lunch. They gave us a generous portion of the pork pad thai. It was very flavorful and tasty. They put a good amount of sauce in the pad thai, which makes it tasty and not dry. The spicy basil duck was a big disappointment. This dish wasn't spicy at all and it came with fatty duck skin, which we didn't eat. We only had two pieces of duck that actually had meat on it. There were three basil leaves, one fourth of a tomato, hardly any peppers, about five pineapple chunks, and tons of onions. They should call this dish Saute Onions with fatty duck skin bits. The mango sticky rice was meh. We definitely had better mango sticky rice elsewhere. read more

The place was super busy with mostly orders for pickup by neighbors on foot. We had a little bit of a wait to be seated and to place our order but didn't mind, it was very visible that our server, Aaron, was working the whole front of house by himself - and he was doing an excellent job managing pickups, a constantly ringing phone, and simultaneously tending to the 5 tables that were seated. CURRENT PROMO: Get a free Thai iced tea with minimum $25 spent. All the dishes we tried were delicious! My folks have a much lower spice tolerance than I do. But it was okay since they had table side condiments that allowed me to up the heat. I also asked for a side of Thai chilies to assist. Here's what we had during our first time: Shrimp Noodle Soup ($14.95): Shrimp with bean sprouts and choice of noodles in a savory garlic broth Spicy Basil: Thai basil. garlic. onions, bell peppers, chilies, in a spicy house red sauce - Snapper ($12.95): Fresh golden fried snaper fillet - Pork Belly ($12.95) Fresh kanaa and crispy pork belly (think Lechon Kawali IYKYK!!) Green Curry ($13.95): Eggplant simmered in spicy green curry sauce with choice of chicken / beef / pork (or prawns / squid $15.95) I wasn't able to order any of my favorite Thai dishes bc I was treating my folks to order what they wanted but I'm looking forward to my next visit already! Food: 5/10 As an appetizer, my wife and I shared chicken satay that was undercooked. The peanut sauce was good though. I had yellow curry with fried tofu and a side of rice. The (premade) curry sauce was excellent but the ingredients were lacking. I'm not sure what was missing but undercooked potato was not enough. My wife had pad see ew with beef. The portion was massive, I swear it could feed a family of four. She enjoyed it somewhat and we took leftovers home but we know we won't eat any more of it tomorrow. I tried it and hated it, the beef was ok but the noodles had a strange, near-expiration flavor. We ate inside near closing time so maybe it nearly was a day old. Service: 0/10 The only other guest sitting in the restaurant was a table of one but our server came off as both rushed and uninterested at the same time (somehow?). Maybe it's his first job but he is not cutout for a customer-facing role. Ambiance: 0/10 I'm pretty sure the music playing in the restaurant was in Chinese. Décor was forgettable and I cannot recall a single detail. The restaurant (besides a table of one and our server/cashier) was entirely empty on a Friday night.
