    White and brown roll

These rolls remind me of the cool warm summer breeze back in Korea, when I was just 7 years old. I remember my tooth was loose and hurting and wanted to eat some dessert, and my grandma brought a rolls just like this and I was crying while enjoying my sweets... Obviously, these are not the same roll, but the baker was inspired and trained by the best in Korea and we are blessed to have experience this in our local home, San Francisco. I have not tried the other rolls, but I HIGHLY recommend going and trying for yourself. These desserts are unique and you won't find them anywhere else in the bay! They are gluten free and have lots of filling to fill our guts to the fullest! One thing I would point out is that it would be nice to have some coffee to balance out the sweetness, but I'm sire they'll have some more variety and choices when the real store opens up!!!! I put my Yelp Elite status on the line for this place, so make sure to stop by!! :)

My friend and I went to The Roll pop up at Sushi Hakko and the first thing I noticed were the desserts and how pretty they were! We tried the red blossom one which has a red bean cream. It was delicious! Extremely light and not too sweet. Definitely want to try the others because they looked amazing :)

I discovered this popup while looking for lunch in the Marina. While they were fully committed, I decided to give these roll cakes a try. The flavors were on point and reminded me of desserts from Asia. Plus for these cakes being gluten free (they use rice flour)!

Super delicious vegan place only steps from the opera house!…read more We went here for dinner after seeing the Barber of Seville matinee and were super impressed with the options and the ambiance this place provided. We sat at the bar and it was relatively quiet though by the time we left there was a line forming at the door to get in. We got a few drinks, "crab" arancini, "Chk'n" Paella, and the "Choriqueso" Empanadas. Our favorite was the paella - the skewers were really delicious - although everything on the menu looked and tasted good. Could not tell anything was vegan. Would definitely come back and try a few of the other dishes!

We ordered off the happy hour menu and the dinner menu. The cheviche came with two pieces. It had a slight citrus taste,it was good but messy. The bottom shell fell apart after one bite. The flautas were really good. Crispy and full of flavor. We tried to order the clam chowder, but it was unavailable. They had corn chowder instead. This was ok. Only a couple of potatos chunks, and a lot of pepper. The portion size was big for the price. Off the dinner menu we ordered the chicken paella, and the truffle potatoes. Both we great and cook perfectly. But rather small portions considering the price. It got louder as time went by and the place started to fill up. But I remembered that this place is a bar not a restaurant.

Each dish is thoughtfully served with a story -- not only is each sooooo tasty but also unique and something I've never had before. And to top it all off they make new menus all the time?? The first time we went we were celebrating our friends' wedding, and the second time was for my husband's birthday. The vibes were so personal and immaculate, they even got the whole room to sing him happy birthday. I can't wait to go again and see what else they cook up!

Nice openings bites but thought it was just okay. Roppongi sen ~4/5. Quite tasty and nice presentation. Really liked the crust and accompanying flavors. Well balanced. Nanangs balay ~4/5. Good and quite tasty. Octopus was cooked well, and the accompanying flavors were quite unique especially with the wilted greens. Pot au feu ~3/5. Okay. Resembled sukiyaki, but the white sauce on top looked a bit unappetizing, and I thought the taste was okay. A cup for sarap ~4/5. Tasty dessert with a combination of ingredients. Sheet cake was okay, although I would have liked something more interesting or complex. Service was very good. Cute origin story and entirely owned and run by the couple.

We got seated right by the window, so lovely! The ambiance is so nice and the decor is so cozy and cool. We got the free peanuts and cucumber salad first- so flavorful and a nice way to whet our appetite. The scallop vermicelli was SO buttery and flavorful. I wanted another order!! The claypot rice came steaming hot and full of meats! Get something to cut it with! The black bean clams were delicious but a tad salty so it's nice to have with the claypot, or even an order of veggies and plain rice! We ended our meal with shaved ice that was layered with black bean, custard, and boba! So refreshing and a perfect end! I would come back 10000%

Anyway, having tried it, I can say it was good, but not so good that I'd expend that much energy to secure the reservation. Have to say, service was really great. Servers were attentive without being overbearing, which is always welcome. We ordered several dishes and dined, as they suggested, family style. To start, we were given two complimentary dishes, the roasted peanuts and the smashed cucumbers; both were nice appetizers. We ordered the Chiu Chow green beans, the Mongolian beef noodles, the claypot rice with lop cheung and bacon, the salt 'n peppa prawns, and the whole fried petrale sole, the last two being on the day's "specials" board. The winning dish was definitely the green beans. All the food was good, but seemed to be a bit overly salted and highly spiced. The piece of beef I had from the Mongolian beef noodles was tender, but one of my friends thought her piece was a bit tough and too chewy; we all thought the beef could have been cut into smaller or thinner pieces. We also shared two desserts since it was a birthday celebration (there are only three options offered). We had the red bean shaved ice and the mango pudding. Both were good (not "oh, boy, yummy" good, but good). Nice to try. The price wasn't outrageous ($200 including tax and tip), but I think this will be a "been there, done that" experience for me unless a friend absolutely wants to go again.
