    Meatball sub with broccoli rabe
    Lamarr E.

Even though finding Jerry's is like a corn maze, it's well worth the journey once you try one of their hoagies. It's a true Philly hoagie thru and through. I got the meatball sub that came with free broccoli rabe. Definitely one of the best subs I've had in the city. The toppings along with the sesame seed roll took my tastebuds back to the east coast. If you need a break from sourdough or the traditional west coast sandwiches, I highly recommend Jerry's!

Went to school in Philly and have sorely missed a good roast pork with broccoli rabe. Was so excited to hear Rosalind is making them here, on their bread! Their crusty sturdy hoagie roll stands up to the hefty juicy filling. It's so porky and a little bitter from the broccoli rabe, the slight funk of the cheese. Super satisfying. Ate it out on the terrace, which was absolutely lovely. Took half home for the boo, and it traveled well. I could definitely finish the whole sandwich but then I would be absolutely stuffed. The shop is super cute, lots of Knick knacks to shop and poke around while you wait. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. I was nervous they'd be sold out at 2pm on a Friday but seemed they had everything still! Much bigger menu than I thought, their other sandwiches look really good too but I don't see myself straying much from the roast pork because I'm obsessed. I didn't realize they were upstairs and was almost frantic running around looking for it, hungry and worried they'd sell out, before checking maps for the 10th time and seeing "2nd floor."

I had a roast pork with broccoli on a weekday for lunch. The order arrived quickly. While I didn't eat at the restaurant, the interior of the restaurant seemed nice. The bread on the sandwhich was delicious, so was the pork. I wasn't a big fan of the broccoli rub, but that might just be me. I will definitely go to back to try their other food.

My coworkers and I are on a mission to find good pork sandwiches in the city. We heard about Jerry's, and took a stroll to Embarcadero 2. It's a pop up with limited signage, and I was initially was confused with the SF Fitness sign right above the door. Make no mistake, it is not a gym. Their menu includes pizza squares (gives Golden Boy energy), and cold cuts options. We all ordered the roasted pork hoagie. You can order at the counter and they call your name when it's done. The staff were really nice and brought our hoagies out to us on the patio. Note there is limited seating inside and it's good if you're eating solo. The sandwich was fresh and hot with some really garlicky broccoli rabe which paired nicely with the tender pork. It had a good meat-to-bread ratio. The consensus is that 4 out 4 people on my party enjoyed it. It was so tasty and big enough portion for me to take half of it home. Though others scarfed it all down. Great addition for lunch in the downtown. Check days and hours as they are opened at limited times.

Jerry's Roast Pork is super delicious - I love how they specialize in just one thing, and they do it really well. Obviously, you'd come here for the roast pork sandwich - it's a hoagie roll stuffed with plenty of thinly sliced juicy and tender roast pork, slightly bitter garlic broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone. It's a very juicy and messy sandwich, you'll want to grab an extra handful of napkins to mop up the juice. The sandwich is very similar to the Roast Pork Hoagie at Palm City Wines in the Outer Sunset.

I love when a place has a very narrow specialty, so it can focus and do it well. Not huge portions, but quite delicious. Also very random assortment of pizza and apparently an obligatory salad. Though only the items with roast pork were notable to me. Garlic Roast Pork Sandwich: I've read their pork take 3 days to make and I can totally tell a lot of care went into it. It's so much better than typical pulled pork since it's got almost roast beef like texture, but the taste is all pork goodness and nice marinade. I was skeptical about the broccolini, but it actually worked very well against the intense pork and crispy sesame bread. Great texture with everything together. Also nice cheese. EMP Special Slice: It was like the roast pork sandwich, but on pizza. Nice slices of roast pork. Gooey sliced provolone cheese. Some high personality greens to counter the richness. Plus a layer of tomato sauce, not found on the sandwich. Definitely a fan. Tomato Slice: Kinda basic. Borderline feels like focaccia. It's alright, but do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks more on topping. Grandma Slice: After having the EMP Special, this also felt kinda basic. I think they used provolone, so it tasted different than what I was expecting. It was lacking the magic ingredient: roast pork! Soppressata Slice: Ok, this had pork, but not the special kind made in-house. It was pepperoni adjacent, but not a good as the classic pepperoni.

Jerry's roast pork is a solid lunch option in the Embarcadero. As a fellow Jerry, I felt obligated to check it out after seeing the new storefront on a walk with a coworker during the day. Sandwich has a nice garlic acidity to it from the broccolini which I am a big fan of. Pizza was also a great option as well, the sesame forward crust was really unique. Would visit again.

I arrived at 1:25pm, and just in time, it turns out: most of their items weren't available due to running out of ingredients for the day, and shortly after I got my order, I saw the staff place a "sold out" sign on the door. Staff looked minimal (two employees) but were friendly and really pleasant. The pork here was great! I got the salad, and it was a good portion with plenty of pork (maybe top 40% of the bowl was just pork!) and not an excessive amount of dressing (the bottom of the bowl only had a small amount of liquid at the bottom when I finished). The pork was impressive, with a good mix of sweet and savory and good texture. The salad veggies were fresh and crisp. Mixed greens, sliced bell peppers, all made for a great salad. The store itself is pretty large and a lot of standing area with a few chairs/tables. There's plenty more chairs and tables to eat at littered around Embarcadero Center if the shop is filled. There are disposable fork/knives and napkins available at the counter. I'm excited to try their sandwiches (what I originally wanted to get). They also have pizza options too. I'll have to keep in mind that I have to go earlier, before they run out of ingredients.

So glad to see a new lunch option open in the area. Jerry's Roast Pork is located at the former Andersen Bakery on the Lobby Level (technically the second floor) of Two Embarcadero Center, at the top of the escalator. Today, 11/04/2025, is opening day. I get there at 12:40pm and as a I'm approaching the place, I can see it's empty except for two employees behind the counter. I reach the door and greeted with the sign: "Sold out. We will be back tomorrow." They just opened at 11am,Perhaps they underestimated how well business would be on Day 1. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to try something of theirs. Currently, their operating hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Happy there's a new fast casual sandwich spot! My sister and I shared the Garlic Roast Pork Hoagie and the seasonal Roast Beef Hoagie. Garlic roast pork hoagie was a unique combo of ingredients that I didn't expect & was delicious. The broccoli rabe and wasabi flavors were interesting but I wished the pork flavor stood out more. The crusty sesame bread was great! Roast beef hoagie is marked seasonal but I hope they keep it longer! I liked the favor of this one more. Only wished they toasted the bread before adding the beef / salad because the bread was harder cold vs the toasted pork hoagie which was nice and soft. Overall very enjoyable, and great value for the amount and quality you get. Will come again to try more.

My favorite new office lunch spot! Been here twice and although it's a sparse space, service is pretty efficient. Growing up a San Franciscan, I don't know anything about Roast Pork sandwiches but man have I been missing out! You've got the bitterness of the broccoli rabe balanced with the unctuous, natural sweetness of tender sliced pork and salinity of provolone cheese with punchy horseradish/garlic spicy accents - all wrapped in a freshly baked sesame seed roll. What's not to love?! Messy? Yes, it will leave a puddle of juices. Delicious? Ain't nothing like it!

When the dish landed, I was initially impressed. But after the first bite, it felt a bit like the Wizard of Oz: impressive presentation hiding something less substantial underneath. Their lasagna is a sort of deconstructionist take on the classic dish. The noodles are cooked and layered almost naked between barely any pockets of filling. There were a few tidbits of meat, maybe sauce and no cheese within the layers themselves. The noodles are then baked, cut, plated, and topped with what I'd guess was about a 6 oz ladle of their bolognese, finished with finely pre-grated parmesan. The first bite was overwhelmingly pasta-forward. It took me a moment to understand how the dish had been assembled against my expectations. Once I cut into it and spread everything out, it became clear this wasn't the kind of lasagna I think of when ordering lasagna. It didn't check the familiar boxes - a rich ragù, maybe a creamy béchamel, or the sharp, salty depth of cheeses layered throughout. The dish lacked the complexity and savory comfort I was craving and expecting. Another miss was the homemade flatbread (which I went back and paid cash for, so it wasn't included in the total). Traditional Italian flatbread is a yeast-free bread made with flour, olive oil or lard, salt, and water or milk, then rolled thin and cooked until crisp yet chewy. This version tasted like flour, lard, and water. It wasn't crisp or chewy. As soon as I started chewing, it turned into an unappetizing doughy mass in my mouth. After the first quarter-piece, I didn't eat anymore. As for everything else, I arrived around 7:15 on a Saturday night, and the inside was packed with a small line to the door. The outdoor tables weren't full, but it was summer in San Francisco, more people were jockeying for seats inside than out. But I wasn't too concerned and I got there around 7, so all that is on me. There were a few specials written on a chalkboard, and the cashier was awesome while explaining those. They were incredibly patient. I apologized for holding up the line, and in a very Italian way, they assured me it was my right to make sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. That interaction honestly stood out as one of the better parts of the experience. I grabbed a table just as one opened up, helped myself to water a few times from the station, and my food arrived in about 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. There's been a bit of internal conflict with this review. I usually don't like judging a restaurant based on a single dish, especially a restaurant with so many positive reviews. But I also don't spend as much time in that part of the city anymore, and there are simply too many other places I still want to try. Unfortunately, while there was some good-looking food on other tables, if a restaurant's claim of lasagna as its signature dish doesn't hold up, the first visit just didn't do enough to pull me back for a second chance.
