Went here on a Friday Night, got seated right away and let me tell you, I would eat here 100% again! The food and the side dishes were all delicious. There was nothing I did not like. My friend and I ordered Stone Pot Bibimbaps, I got bulgogi for mine and it came out hottt. Like I had to wait a couple minutes for it to cool down but I was okay with that because I prefer hot food over lukewarm. Each bite was perfection, everything paired so well together. My only con was the service, I understand it being the dinner rush and it being a Friday Night. It was hard to get a server to come to us and when we did, I only asked for a refill on our water, but that never came. So if you come on a busy day, the service might not be that great. But overall, the food is definitely delicious, I prefer this over BCD. read more

I don't know about other dishes here, but their Mandu Galbitang was awful. The broth wasn't your typical beef broth. It tasted more like a simple instant seafood broth with not much flavor. Based on one visit, with input from someone that has been here a number of times. The place is in a plaza but nice. There is a decent selection of soft tofu stews with different fillings. There are also some other dishes such as dol sot/hot pot be bim bap as well as some grilled food like BBQ that can be added as a combination like BBQ pork. The BBQ pork was delicious. Side dishes as well, expected with any Korean meal, were provided. Service was fast and efficient....could have been friendlier. I really liked: LA BBQ Short Ribs Dumpling Tofu Soup Korean Side Dishes I liked: Cold Buckwheat Noodle This was ok: Brisket Wagyu Bulgogi Great flavor on the ribs and tofu soup, not too salty either. The Bulgogi is ok, the flavor is there but texturally very bland. The buckwheat noodles are huge, definitely different from Japanese style cold noodles but still very refreshing! Service here is fairly solid, our server was very attentive and brought us a lot of refills on the sides. She did mess up a little and dropped a scoop of rice onto the table but apologized quickly. I think a lot of people might want a replacement when this happens but there were so many side refills that I'm content without it. It is a bit expensive here but that's just Irvine prices and I always leave here with leftovers so the price feels justified. The restaurant itself is very clean and simple. It's enough to host people off hours but gets busy during proper lunch and dinner hours. I'd definitely enjoy coming here over BCD if the hours were extended later into the night. read more

This place is probably my family's favorite tofu soup spot. We come here at least a couple times a month. The broth is flavorful and piping hot. The tofu tastes fluffy and fresh. It also came with the stone pot rice. The banchan was decent too (and they refill it), but nothing too outstanding. Compared to similar restaurants, the service was great. Absolutely my new favorite Sundubu jjigae (Tofu Stew) place in Irvine! Went for the classic mixed option & the banchan (side-dishes) were much better here than other places. From seafood pancake, pickled veggies, japchae, fishcake, & a great fried yellow croaker fish (basically the fried fish at bcd), & Kimchi, everything was amazing. The taste of the stew was amazing of course & I made sure to save enough for a 2nd meal at home haha. Would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes like Bimbibap & Short Ribs! Very good in terms of food quality and atmosphere - staff are friendly and food is super fresh and of course you get all the yummy sides. One less star because you get what you pay for, good food and service = money these days and our non extravagant family of 4 ended up with a $100 tab with no drinks. Great banchan dishes and the mackerel fish, but limited to only one time ask for some of the dishes. We were seated soon as tables were available without reservations for a big party of 8. But our tables were separate bc the tables were bolted on to the ground unfortunately. The taste in their combo varieties here was ok, a bit bland for the pancake and the soon tofu as well. When we first arrived it took 15 minutes before our order was taken. There was only one person taking orders, but throughout our time other employees started taking orders so not sure what was going on. We got the la galbi combo with mixed tofu soup, spicy pork combo with seafood tofu soup, and seafood pancake. The pork was extremely salty and not enjoyable. The galbi was also over salted. The seafood pancake is largely veggies and there was not a lot of seafood within. Flavor wise it was pretty good though. Lastly, found a fly in our rice. Since they prepared and scooped the rice, I have no idea if the fly was in there originally or flew it later on. Not the most fun thing to find near the end of the meal after finishing the rice. For the cost, there are better places. 36 for the galbi combo and 30 for the pork combo. You'd expect much better quality for the cost. read more

Came on a Thursday evening intending to eat at Hako but they had a wait, so I decided to try this new restaurant since there was no wait. Easy parking in the Zion Market lot. We weren't very hungry so we ordered the spicy pork bulgogi combination with spicy mixed tofu soup to share. They had a nice variety of side dishes but they would not provide any refills because we were sharing. Although in reality, we probably didn't really need refills because most sides were so salty that it's hard to eat too much of it. Same with the spicy pork bulgogi...overall flavor was good but it was way too salty, so we couldn't eat much and ended up having to pack up 75% of it to take home. The tofu soup has good mix of ingredients and the spicy is probably equivalent to BCD's danger, so don't pick very spicy unless you know for sure you can handle it. This was also slightly saltier than I would have liked, but very tasty when eaten with the stone pot rice. Stone pot rice was nice and hot and fluffy. I would have enjoyed it if the pot was hotter and created more of the burnt edges on the rice, but it was fine and was definitely necessary to eat with all the dishes. read more

We enjoyed Its Tofu and found this spot after stopping by nearby Zion Market in Irvine. The tofu soup was generously portioned and clean tasting. Most notably- it doesn't have a lot of the flavor enhancers that other Korean tofu chains have. So if you're not accustomed to that type of taste- this place might not be for you. The nakkji or spicy squid bibimbap was tasty as well- though I did wish for a bit more veggies and sesame oil to finish it. Lastly, service was friendly and accommodating. The soondubu was pretty good, but not as flavorful as BCD. The more I ate my food, the more I wished I went to BCD instead. The prices were very expensive here. I did like that they have some unique flavors of soondubu you don't see often, like seaweed. Service was pretty good but a little slow, I think they were understaffed when I went. Since it looks like they were known for their tofu dishes we decided to try their soft tofu soups. We also order a steamed egg since a table next to us had one and it looked delicious and fluffy. I was craving raw marinated crab and this spot was the closest option after a long, tiring week of work. I met up with my friend for dinner to celebrate a belated birthday and the wait was pretty short despite a crowded dining room at about 6pm on a Friday. We ordered three items to share but it ended up being more than enough for us two. So many side dishes hit the table - potato salad, pickled cucumbers, japchae, braised potatoes, pancake, bean sprouts, fried croaker and kimchi. We started with the spicy raw marinated crab. They have gloves available but you'll have to ask for them. Otherwise, they will give you plenty of napkins haha. The crab was silky with no aftertaste and the sauce not too spicy, but very flavorful. I usually don't eat a lot of rice, but the crab lives true to its reputation as the rice thief. We also shared two soups - intestine soondubu and dumpling soup with beef short ribs. The dumpling soup was surprisingly a favorite. Generous portions of dumplings and beef ribs with glass noodles in a wonderful broth. It acted as a palette cleanser between the saucy crab and spicy tofu. My only complaint was the location of where we sat since we were right by the front door of a glass storefront. I initially felt a bit self conscious while sucking on crab, but it was too good to stop me from eating. Other than that, it was a super great meal and would love to come back. read more

Loved everything about this place! I got the mixed (beef and seafood) tofu soup and we shared the raw spicy marinated crab. I ordered my soup very spicy and thought it the right amount of spiciness for the level. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of toppings they provide in the soup. This was the first time I tried Korean raw crab, and it was pretty good! I wouldn't get it as a sole entree, but I thought it was nice to have as a side. They provided a good variety of banchan and they were all delicious. My favorites were the quail egg and fish cake! I love that they provide a fried fish too. They fill the empty rice pot with tea at the beginning of the meal, and the stone pot really does retain heat well since the tea was still warm by the end! The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, it feels like the restaurant put a lot of thought into the details of the food and ambiance and it made for a great experience. Parking was easy since it's in a huge shared lot. read more
