Large cheese pie
Andrew M.

Amazing local pizzeria that serves classic new york style thin crust pizza. I come here often and they just do something differently with their crust and it is delicious. They have online ordering but I usually just order over the phone since it saves on service fees on some of the ordering platforms. In addition to pizza they have classic pizzeria sides like garlic knots, pasta, and mozzarella sticks. They have a few indoor tables and their service is always done with a smile.

Great pizza consistently good. I still stop in to grab slices and occasionally order pies. Their plain slices are phenomenal and borderline addictive. Thanks Italia

Ordered a half pepperoni half mushroom medium size pizza to go. Love the thin crust! It was around $20 for the pie. My go to pizzeria in the neighborhood.

Good food very flavorful delicious fresh very tasty very satisfying my fifth time coming here but first time alone i definitely would recommend this place to all my friends and fellow yelpers as well

Chocolate Mousse

My go-to local pizzeria. I've been brought up on this my entire life. 10/10 would recommend but not anymore. I'm gonna tell you how the food is but ALSO the service. I always just get the plain large pie. The chocolate mousse is so smooth, it almost tasted like ice cream cake. The potato croquette was actually better than potato croquettes from a higher end restaraunt like Koku Ramen. The outside was breaded and obviously tasted like the outside of a mozzarella stick. The inside was not plain potato flavor, it had bits of a veggie piece inside to make it more flavorful. Spot on margarita pizza. It's hard to find good margarita pizzas in the local area. Delivery service: 0. My dog was barking at the delivery man and I checked the camera afterwards. The delivery man THREATENS MY DOG AND THEN dead picked up some soil from my plants and threw it in my dog's direction. Wtf???? I love some great food and all but that wasn't it. And how SANITARY is it to pick up some soil, throw it, then continue to touch the pizza box afterwards esp DURING A WHOLE PANDEMIC. Come on now... Anyways, that's why a perfect 5 went down to a 3. I made a complaint to the restaraunt and there was no disciplinary action to the deliveryman. Another staff apologized in that delivery man's place.

Complimentary bread and butter served with a bowl of soup (January 2024)

We visited Italia Pizza on Kings Highway on a chilly afternoon in January 2024. It was one of those days where the cold goes through you. I ordered a bowl of pasta fazool to warm me up. Sitting in a booth in fixed distance to a formica covered table I was brought a bowl described by the staff as pasta fagioli. Who is to argue? It was amazing. The soup was scalding hot and accompanied by a basket of bread and butter. It hit the spot. We also ordered an arancino (singular, rice ball) and 2 slices of eggplant pizza. Fantastic! The place had a lot of take-away business but might have seen more in-store dining if they advertised their heart-warming soups. A lovely find on Kings Highway.

I ordered beef patty, chicken pizza and a tomato slice. I asked to add cheese to the beef patty and they forgot even though they charged me. It was too late to go back. The chicken slice was bad. The chicken pieces were very dry and the tomato slice was subpar and flavorless. Very disappointed. I still like their plain slices though and I thought I should try something new.

I got the round pie, is that not the order? It wasn't bad at all but that doesn't cut it in this part of Brooklyn. Grandma looks good?

Hands down the best pizza in the area. We come here every other week for a whole pie and Greek salad. Easy peasy lemon squeezy dinner.

Di Fara Pizza is a renowned pizzeria located at 1424 Avenue J in the Midwood neighborhood of…read moreBrooklyn, New York City. Situated at the corner of East 15th Street and Avenue J, the establishment was owned and managed by Domenico DeMarco (1936-2022), but now his family continues that legacy. Food critics and bloggers frequently rank it among the top pizzerias in New York City. Di Fara has received numerous accolades, including being named the "Best pizza in New York" by publications such as New York and Serious Eats. The New York Times described the restaurant as "one of the most acclaimed and sought-after pizza shops in New York City." In 2011, Zagat ranked it as the top pizza restaurant in the city, and in 2013, Frommer's called its pizza "the Best Hand-Made Pizza in New York City." Chef Anthony Bourdain also expressed admiration for the restaurant's pizza. I had long hoped to visit Di Fara, so I decided to make a trip from Connecticut. Upon entering, my son and I observed that it was quite busy. There is also a window for ordering, but we chose to go inside to order our food to experience the atmosphere fully. We each ordered a freshly prepared Sicilian slice. Unlike some places, there was no pre-made pizza on display. Each slice is made to order, and it takes about twenty-five minutes to prepare. When we received our pizza, it was notably greasy. The Sicilian slices resembled a full meal, topped with garlic and pepperoni. The garlic was quite prominent and flavorful, adding a nice punch which I liked. The pepperoni was crispy, and the undercarriage had a nice crunch, though it was also quite oily. In my personal opinion, it wasn't the best slice I've ever tasted. However, I understand that when the owner, Dom, was alive, the pizza was considered exceptional by many. I would rate it around 3.5 stars, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience pizza from one of New York's most iconic establishments.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

Absolutely disappointed and disgusted. This was my girlfriend's dinner she chose, I happily ate a RedBarron knowing what it was.

So, eating at this restaurant before the Bruce Springsteen concert, the other night was a thrill. Ate with lifelong friends. Lots of seafood and the pasta was fantastic! Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Good service. Not sure what the menu currently says, but the menu from just 3 months ago said it's 18% for a party under 6. Maybe they've changed it. Not sure. This is the first restaurant we've been to with 20% auto gratuity for a party under 6. But the borderline dishonest part is that the check that you sign tells you in tiny letters that tip was already added, but has huge font for additional tip and written out tip calculations, so it is very easy to tip 40% without noticing. Sometimes I do tip extra generously, but I don't want to feel like I was tricked into doing it! Looking thru reviews here, I see other people also experienced this, including people in small parties who were locked into the 20% when it should have definitely been 18%. :/ So close to a good experience, but ruined by tricksy billing.
