Amazing pizza. Light, crunchy, chewy crust made with sourdough so you don't feel stuffed when you eat the entire pie yourself.

I'm planning on purchasing an apartment in the area, so I wanted a quick dinner before my board interview. I'd never tried the pizza from here before, I've only had the pasta through Uber Eats, but last night I decided to give it a try. It's a family-owned business, and you get that vibe immediately upon walking in. They're very welcoming people, and the pizza was delicious. I got a margherita slice and an MVP square (marinara, vodka, and pesto). Immediately, when I picked up my margherita slice, I noticed its sturdy undercarriage. It had no flop to it, which is a sign of a good slice. It also had that perfect crisp that I love. The MVP square also had the perfect mix of flavors. The prices are also really good- even the entrees aren't too expensive. This is the kind of place where people grow up going to. From what I see, they remember frequent costumers and treat everyone like family, which I'm personally a big fan of. Since it's a block away from my soon-to-be new apartment, I will definitely be frequenting this place! read more

Portions are great. I'm a big eater so I ordered the penne pasta à la vodka with chicken, a chicken roll, and split a Margherita pizza with a couple friends. The chicken parm was the best, with the Margherita pizza closely behind. The chicken roll wasn't bad, but the others were just "better." I'm from out of town and got recommended this place. Didn't see the menu until I walked inside, but all the workers were incredibly helpful with finding/recommending dishes. I asked for some of the pasta on the side to share with a friend and they were more than happy to do so. Great place, would recommend to anyone who is remotely in the area. Coming from Chicago, I've been to New York several times but never had the pizza. (Always calzones!) Due to the big rivalry, I decided to try this place in the neighborhood where we're staying. The slices are large, triangular, and reminded me of some of our places at home. But that's where it stops. The slices behind the glass didn't look very appealing so I asked if they had any Italian sausage. The guy who waited on me said he could take the slices of cheese and add sausage to them and put them in the oven. So we did that and when my daughter and I saw the slices, we weren't sure what to think. The meat was big chunks, some round and some looked shredded, like gyro meat. It had a funny/different taste too, not at all like the good Italian sausage we're used to. They filled us up for the time being, but i'm glad i didn't buy a whole pizza. It just wasn't very good. See the picture for my 1/2 eaten slice. On a more positive note, they have a good variety of other dishes. Salads, pastas, misc. Italian. I would try something else next time. read more

Indeed the tastiest slice of cheese pizza in Bay Ridge! In fact, it's my favorite slice in all of NYC because of the deliciousness and the price! I haven't tried anything else here yet but the regular cheese slice is SO GOOD. The cheese were stringy and just the perfect amount of saltiness. They were generous with the amount of tomato sauce. I'm drooling as I'm writing this. It's a thin crust pizza but the crust is not as thin as those in Manhattan pizzerias. The ones in Manhattan are literally a ripe off as their pizzas are paper thin now. But here at Bay Ridge pizza, I'm reminded of the pizzas that I used to have as a kid. They kept the traditional recipe! They also use an oil on their pizza, I'm not sure the name of the oil, but it makes the pizza tastes and smells so good! I have no complaints about the service. It's a pizzeria. They're fast, honest, and clean. One time, the staff there even brought my slice to my table. I've been to several pizzerias throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan, and to me, Bay Ridge pizza lives up to their awards. They are indeed the best pizza in Brooklyn and maybe even Manhattan! I've never had bad food from Bay Ridge Pizza and the staff had always been efficient, friendly, and polite. The sauce on the pies I ordered were flavorful and there was plenty of cheese. I have been a customer for 20 years and it was never like this. I called and complained and the girl on the phone just said I will let the cook know. You say you are the best pizza in Brooklyn? I think there are several pizzerias in Brooklyn that would like to have a word or two to say about that one. But by no means is it a bad slice. The slices are big, but they are literally pale slices. Not sure if it is the weather, or the fact the dough is under proofed, but seeing this was not something I appreciated. The sauce and cheese combine for an interesting flavor. It reminded me of pizza I would eat at birthday parties. I feel as a whole this pizzeria is the kind of pizzeria little league baseball teams go to at the conclusion of the season. The interior screams that. For $6, you get what you pay for, mediocrity without too many compromises. However, to say you are the best pizza in Brooklyn (yes, I saw the awards) is not a compromise to the slice, but rather overstating something that I feel needs to be worked on. Ask Luigi's in Park Slope, who has a much more superior slice. Or ask Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint, who also has a more superior slice. read more

I decided to give Bay Ridge Pizza a try based on the reviews. I was a bit disappointed due to the preparation of my dish. Spaghetti with Sausage & Peppers. My sister ordered Filet of Sole Francese hero sandwich. The sandwich was freshly made and tasty. My pasta order was disappointing. I only got spaghetti with sausage with NO peppers. I told the waiter and he apologized for the mistake. Instead of making a big deal, I decided to have the pasta. Didn't have the Pizza but I did try their penne a la vodka with chicken ! I Don't know why they'd use breaded chicken in this particular meal because it just didn't come together at all . The chicken had literally no real meat besides the breading which created textural issues and even worse , it seemed like it was not even seasoned and I was extremely repulsed eating it . My office has ordered catering from Bay Ridge Pizza many in the past. I have enjoyed their fettuccine alfredo as well as their chicken marsala. So when I had a craving for some quick Italian food, I sought out their menu from a co-worker. I called ahead so that my order would be ready for pick up upon my arrival. The customer service was really good; the staff member helped me to decide which size calamari would be best to order for one person. The food was ready upon arrival. I was so hungry that I started in on the calamari while I was driving home. It was fried perfectly and paired with just the right amount of chunky marinara sauce. Unfortunately, that was the best part of my meal. The Alfredo sauce was thick and lacking in flavor as though it was given enough time to reduce and removed prematurely from the fire. The 3 shrimp that came with my order also were very bland and over cooked. I might consider ordering their calamari again if I'm in the area but not any of their other dishes. I probably caught them on a bad day but I went out my way only to be disappointed. If my office orders from them again, I would like to try their cauliflower pizza. read more

Each time I go to Bayridge Pizzeria, I feel like I'm in a fine dining restaurant. The food is exquisite. The owners will do anything to accommodate you! Their homemade marinara is out of this world! I ordered the grandma pizza pie through ubereats on a rainy day, and we did not have to wait too long for the food to arrive. I believe they do their own deliveries and the guy was very nice. The grandma pizza was very good and better than i had expected. The entire pie was relatively cheap. The crust was perfect, there was a good amount of cheese, and it was on the saucier side. Decided lunch and had our usual Grandma pizza. Casual walk in and order pizzeria. At 1ish pm and easily find seats to sit. We had the grandma pizza. Least than expected the crust was alot thicker than described as thin crust but was crispy by the edges. Other than that, sauce and cheese was on point. Our garlic knots were crispy and not greasy like other places had rhem made which we love. The pepperoni roll was good with a crispy outside and enough fillings. French fries were fresh but nothing special. Good fresh food and the staffs and owner are very friendly as he helped us cutting up the pizza and pushing the tables together for us to sit. They are clearly trying to position themselves to be a #1 choice for gluten free eaters. The place did start to get crowded as it approached lunchtime and you may have to wait for seating. Seems like a lot of locals who come here and I saw other things that people got were very delicious. Their arancini rice balls looked very delicious. I would try that next time. Let me start off by saying I give 5 stars due to the amazing GF option they offer. The cauliflower crust is delicious, and the red sauce and toppings are top notch. My husband can eat wheat, so we ordered another pizza for him: with many layers of meat and green peppers and onions. There wasn't enough meat on it for his taste, so we have to order from here again to get his 5 star rating too :-) I'll say it again: the toppings are grade A, and the sauce is excellent.
