Large pie for $16.00 - A large cheese pizza with a golden crust, melted cheese, and tomato sauce, served in a cardboard pizza box.

Pros: Two star for fast local delivery and low cost for $16 pie. ... Cons: Rude owners and workers. ONLY CASH! The pizza is tasteless with very little sauce. Seems like Low quality mozzarella. Crust is hard to chew with no wow factor. No masks or gloves are worn by any employees or the owners. Rude in person/ phone demeanor. Didn't take my order properly; delivered improper order.

What's that familiar scent? We followed our nose (with mask on of course) to this pizzeria. The doors and windows were wide opened so we decided to give it a try during our walk. Ordered a slice for 2.75 and it was okay. They were generous on the cheese and the sauce was sweet but the crust and dough overall was very flimsy and bland. When he tried to fold the slice in half, it broke and everything was sliding off the slice and onto the plate.

Large pepperoni pie cost $23.

Great pies, friendly service, and old fashioned pizzeria. Counter service with walk up window. Nothing fancy.

Was in the neighborhood errands and craved pizza. Decided to come check this place out because it was the closest one. From the pizza on display. We decided to go with the margarita slice and a regular square pizza. To my surprise the margarita slice was full of flavor. The square slice was average.

I stopped here for a quick slice before a meeting. As a first time visitor to NYC, this place hits all the marks for a great pizza place. All of The slices are fresh. They had 4 or 5 different kinds. I am guessing none of the pies were more than 20 mins. old. I had a slice of White and a slice of Margherita, both were great. Prices were good too. I think two slices and an drink was $13. Pizza Den is just one of thousands of pizza places that give NYC such a great reputation for pizza.

Mmmmm mmmm good!

Just came off of 14 hour shift hungry and tired. I called the pizza den and asked them if they can have a pie ready for me at 12:30 when I would be heading home and he said absolutely.when I showed up my pizza was just coming out of the oven and it smelled marvelous. I don't know what's with all the bad reviews but I love this place. The owner is actually very nice. Maybe people don't understand his personality. As far as the food, everything I've ever ordered from here has been delicious. So glad they're only a few blocks away from my apartment too!

First off, when I arrived, a guy was on his phone texting and then proceeded to pick up two slices of pizza without gloves on to warm up (fun fact: the saying "phones have more germs and bacteria than toilets" is highly accurate). Nonetheless, I've been here multiple times before this and the service was wonderful. Next time, I will just be cautious and request someone with CLEAN HANDS. As for the person who commented on the lukewarm pizza, I don't know what you're talking about. My slices were still hot after I got home. Granted, I didn't eat them, but the paper bag was hot. I'm genuinely disappointed because I was starving but did not want to consume a bunch of germs. Based on prior experiences, the pizza is crispy, greasy, and cheesy - everything you want in a slice. The sauce is robust and delicious. If it wasn't for the service, I would have given five stars.

Squishy, floppy, and sad. $5.50 for 2 slices

Right off D train is this conveniently located pizza joint. I love a good classic slice of NY pizza but this was not it. The guy took 10 seconds to heat up my slices, the result was this floppy, squishy, and sad thing.

Pizza was good for a quick bite but a bit greasy. If you don't mind it then this place is good for any slices.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

He would pull the pans with his bear hand out of the oven and generously drizzle olive oil from a rustic copper container over every pie. He would then meticulously inspect the dough for bubbles. Dom has now passed but his legacy continues. I've always compared the then pie vs now. And like most things,, nothing beats the original. This is still a very good slice. I once rated them as the best in NYC. Unfortunately, its not at the very top but still on the podium. Coming back feels like you are saying hello to an old friend. If you haven't been, you have to try at least once.

We ordered a whole pie half plain and half pepperoni, which is only $2.50 more. What I notice right away is the zesty tomato sauce, which Has love. However, I must admit that the crust was a bit too hard for my taste. Yes! It was crispy, but biting through it was somewhat difficult. Overall a good slice, but maybe the dough was off a bit that day. Regardless, Luigi's Pizza is an institution and I will be back again next time I'm in the area. This is where I go when I want these things. No longer living in NY, it's an hour+ trip, but always worth it. Many pizzas do not reheat well due to rubbish cheese- not L&B- pop it in the oven around 400°F, and let it crisp back up! Also- the Spumoni- it keeps at a nice consistency in the freezer, unlike rubbish American ice cream- which gets like a rock. The only other Spumoni I buy is from Corona. They're both phenomenal in their respective rights. When asked by non-NY'ers which pizza is my favourite- this is number one for Sicilian- not heavy at all. The crust is light, airy, and flavourful. The cheese to sauce ratio is perfect- not swimming in greasy cheap cheese. I have the same standards for Neapolitan Pizza. We can discuss that elsewhere. Please never close shop- at least let's celebrate the centenary!

The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
