Tried the inari bombs with shoyu ahi and spicy ahi. The flavors were good and fresh, and I liked the idea of turning poke into a fun, handheld bite. That said, it was just okay for me overall. I wish the poke pieces were cut smaller and more bite-sized -- it would've made the texture better balanced and easier to eat in one clean bite. Creative concept and solid flavor, just hoping for a little more refinement in the portion size next time.

Having missed out on the first anniversary special of $1 inari bombs at Inari Factory earlier this year, I was glad it did a year and a half anniversary with $1.50 inari bombs! Gonna be $2 at two years? Inari Factory is an eatery by Don Quijote itself, so you might find some of their items similar to the poke/seafood bar inside. It's located right outside at the food court. With any kind of sushi, the quality of rice and the preparation of the rice is of utmost importance, so seeing a sign that the rice is nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido is a great sign. It was prepared well enough. The anniversary special only pertained to specific toppings, and you can choose from inari bombs or hand rolls. We went with Unagi, Tobikko, and Ahi Tuna bombs with Spicy Tuna and Crab Salad hand rolls. Everything was pretty good. Portions were generous. Flavor was all right. Unagi was the best, followed by the crab salad. Nothing exciting, but still more than acceptable and would return to try other items. Service was efficient and I like how everything was nicely prepared and neatly boxed.

Hawaii is a melting pot of its multiethnic population. This environment brings people together from all over which also introduces fusion cuisine. Step in Inari Factory (IF), which brings together Hawaii and Japan. Poke, which has also gained popularity nationwide, is a Hawaiian dish that uses raw fish that is combined with seasonings (i.e. sea salt, chili flakes) and condiments (i.e. Hawaiian seaweed, kukui nuts, onions). Pair this with inari, which is sushi rice that is stuffed into a seasoned deep-fried tofu that is shaped in a rectangle box. IF opened in January 2024, located in one of the stalls of the left-hand side entrance of Don Quijote. They boast these fancy inaris that is topped with assorted toppings, with popular ones being fresh ahi and salmon. I've noticed IF via social media and my sister previously bought me some to try when they had a promotion, but I never made my way over to their store front until just recently. In my recollection, the inari was good but was advised of the cost. Keep in mind that Japan rice is used here, so it may seem pricey, but in my opinion, this is justified of its high-quality ingredients, execution and final product. A former colleague recently came back to the islands from Japan with her nephew and wanted to meet up. We agreed on Don Quijote as the office we were going to is just across the street next. After our business matters were settled, they wanted to grab a quick lunch before going shopping at Ala Moana, and I suggested IF of its proximity and originality as these poke inari are not available in Japan. To seal the deal, I advised that it was their last day of their 1.5 yr anniversary sale of $1.50 for either inari or hand rolls. Our lucky stars were sure aligned as there was a minimal line as we arrived at 12:36pm. We were third in line and while waiting we took out our cameras and started snapping away. The next thing I noticed the line grew and now had about 10 people behind us in line waiting. The anniversary sale offerings were limited as salmon options were sold out. You could select from spicy ahi poke, shoyu ahi poke, imitation crab, ocean salad, tobiko, and unagi. For the hand rolls, they had spicy ahi poke, shoyu ahi poke, imitation crab and natto. Majority of these items were premade so ordering was simple and quick. You told the staff your items which was marked on a sheet and another staff packaged your order accordingly. The line moved quickly. After paying, you're given a number. Within a few minutes our number was called and off we went. We opted to eat at the dining area of the food court at Don Quixote to save time. We snapped a few pics and started to dig in. I got 2 each of the spicy ahi and shoyu ahi poke inari, along with 1 spicy ahi hand roll. I was impressed on the execution as the flavors were bold and fish quality. The rice was perfect. I was concerned about possibly mushy rice and unnecessary teriyaki sauce drizzle on top as I've experienced at other places. Overdressing the protein is not my cup of tea when it comes to seafood. My out of town guests were flabbergasted of this concept as poke inari doesn't exist where they're from. They were in awe of the fish quality and the flavors. Huge hit and an amazing, quick and tasty lunch where it didn't break the bank. Overall, a great first experience ordering in person at IF where I'm indeed a fan. Although the anniversary sale is over, the inari here would make a meal or Scooby snack that's tasty and satisfying.

    Unagi & Seared Salmon

I was so excited for this place because I love inari sushi! This place is located outside of Don Quixote Kaheka. They specialize in inari bombs or stuffed inari but they also have hand rolls or temaki. I decided to try their deluxe unagi and seared salmon. They costed a bit extra (+$1 each). The regular inari bombs were 2 for $5 included some poke selection, imitation crab, ocean salad & tobiko. At 2 for $7 I was expecting a pretty decent sized inari. I was a bit disappointed when it was pretty small (2 biter for me). The unagi did have shredded tamago (scrambled egg) under the unagi. The seared salmon was also disappointing because it was fully cooked, not just seared on top. Maybe I misunderstood? Idk. The inari wrapper or abura-age was also a bit dry for my liking. You definitely need a drink to wash it all down. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place out but would not return.

Still 5 stars all the way! Ingredients are fresh and delicious. The staff is efficient and friendly. So glad this business is still going strong! Their anniversary special is a great deal but even at regular price this place is well worth it. It you haven't stopped by to give them a try you should.

@fortunefoodfinds: "RICE n' shine! A variety of Inari Bombs (sushi rice stuffed in seasoned fried tofu pouches) from Inari Factory outside of Don Quijote Honolulu. Aburi wagyu beef, aburi fresh salmon, aburi unagi, spicy ahi poke, shoyu ahi poke, imitation crab, ocean salad, n' gari ginger. Can be a snack or meal, but getting 8pcs is the best deal! Btw check out Don Don Donki's mini canvas tote. If you DON know, now you know!" Staff: friendly Interior: window stand Exterior: shared picnic style table seating Wait time: 10 mins Parking: lot Overall comments: it's been a minute since I last had Inari Factory. What's changed? The portion size of the inari bombs n' the topping options. Last year the inari bombs were at least double in size n' they used to offer garlic shrimp. Other than that, the sushi rice n' tofu pouches are still very tasty n' the toppings were piled on just enough to not make a complete mess. The 8pc deal is worth it n' with other food vendors around, you're most likely going to share it.

We ordered the specials they offered for their 2nd year anniversary & every piece we ordered was pretty yummy! But it would've been nice if we had all of our orders. The girl forgot our 2 shoyu poke inari. Thought my other half had gotten a separate box or container with it while I was paying but he told me no. We was gonna call but they don't have a phone number. Total came out to nearly $26. Knocked a star down because of that & there's no phone number/a way to contact them about it. UPDATE: I've returned to the place & showed them the pic & amount paid of what was given on the day it happened & let them know it was hard to get in contact with them considering there was no contact information if something went wrong etc. The same aunty who rung me up that day was the cashier today so we got the order correctly, kindly helped & fixed the girl's error & gave me the missing 2 shoyu inari free. Took pics of what I ordered for my uncle & for my other half & I. Will go back again because, they're pretty good. Arigatou for the meal & assistance in fixing someone else's error. God bless!

Came here during their $1 anniversary sale which was super dealz!! Luckily I went on their first day around 2pm and there wasn't much of a line to order but I did have to wait 45 min to receive the food. It's a really small window and kitchen those poor workers couldn't really work efficiently in there. I ordered the spicy salmon, spicy ahi, shoyu salmon, shoyu tuna & unagi. All of them were good but our favorite was the shoyu salmon. We didn't care much for the unagi - it laid on a bed of shredded tamago and didn't really go together. They were advertised as their new "easy to eat" size so I was expecting them to be really small but was surprised they were still decently sized since I got full after eating about 6 of them! I'll def come back to try their regular sizes!

8 piece inari, a mess in the box when I got home but they tasted good!!!

Their inari - tofu skin and rice - was good! Flavorful and even though it's premade and kept cold, the rice still had good texture. I've tried their salmon and ahi poke flavors, imitation crab, Wagyu beef and aburi salmon. Out of everything I'd say Wagyu beef was the best. The poke was ok. The salmon one had a fish bone in it so be careful!!! The other flavors were just ok. Service was a bit slow. Their ordering system doesn't make sense. I spoke my order, and the staff had to look through a long list of items in the paper order sheet to check it, so that took some time even I was just ordering 2 already-made inari from the display window. Someone in front of me had a large order and I was just standing there for 10-15 mins waiting to order my 2 pieces. The handrolls in the display case were already made and I could see the nori being a little soggy already. I hope they weren't selling those. There's also a lot of rice in it with just little protein at the top. I think handrolls have to be made to order. I think I only really enjoyed the Wagyu beef inari from my entire order. It's conveniently located outside Don Quijote of kahaka with plenty of parking (at least in their adjacent secondary lot). I was hoping I would like this place just as much as another inari place in town but sadly it wasn't for me. Hope they will come up with more interesting flavors and improve on the quality.

Frequently passing by this place every time we go to Don Quijote & always wanted to try it since I love inari. Friend told me they were having their 1st anniversary sale and each piece was $1 so decided to check it out. Went around 12pm & the line was past the Don Quijote entrance! Waited for almost 2 hours to order and then another 45mins to get our food. We ordered spicy ahi, shoyu ahi, takoyaki, unagi, and tobiko. The aburaage (tofu skin) and rice were seasoned well! They pack the inari with a good amount of filling so it took me 2-3 bites to eat it. The unagi and takoyaki were okay, just takoyaki balls and unagi with shredded egg on top. I liked the tobiko, fresh and very crunchy. The shoyu ahi was really good! Ahi was fresh and seasoned well. Our favorite was the spicy ahi. Big chunks and good flavor to them. Would definitely get the spicy ahi again. My husband went the next day to order when they opened and waited around 40mins so not as bad as the day before. They got our order wrong and gave us shoyu ahi instead of spicy ahi. Kinda disappointed but we just took the ahi & made our own spicy ahi sauce so it turned out good.

Quality of food is 5 stars ! Excellent superb taste & freshness. But do they really open at 11 am because yesterday we were there at around 11:15 am & the man inside said they weren't open yet. Will be back definitely !

Located right outside of Don Quijote in the Ala Moana area, I was excited to see that the menu has expanded to include hand rolls, but disappointed that their inari bombs shrunk in size. Other changes that I noticed are there isn't any garlic shrimp and the tobiko doesn't come with shredded egg anymore. Otherwise, this is still a great value for sushi. At my most recent visit, I ordered 8 pieces of inari for $15.99. I chose two shoyu ahi, two spicy ahi, one spicy salmon, one tobiko, one imitation crab, and one ocean salad.

    maybe order next time

It takes something familiar, strips away the unnecessary decisions and turns it into a process that's incredibly easy to enjoy. The restaurant is tiny, but everything feels deliberate. The staff keeps things moving without making you feel rushed, our waitress was genuinely wonderful with our kids and even the people waiting around us couldn't have been friendlier. It felt like everyone was in on the same little secret. The first surprise wasn't even the fish. It was the cabbage salad. Shredded cabbage, crispy noodles, miso yuzu dressing. That's it. Somehow it's one of the best salads I've had in a long time. It's the kind of dish that makes you wonder why nobody else bothers to do something so simple this well. Then came the negitoro bowl. The ikura shower is absolutely worth the extra ten bucks. Yes, it's a little theatrical with the bell ringing, but if you're going to pour an avalanche of salmon roe over my bowl, you might as well make a show of it. The crab miso soup upgrade is another easy yes. The crab almost feels like they're apologizing in advance for ruining every ordinary bowl of miso soup you'll have afterward. It isn't perfect but nothing is. The rice was a little clumpy and needed to be broken apart. After a while, the flavors begin to blend together more than I expected and those beautiful sheets of nori lose the battle against Hawaii's humidity pretty quickly. They look incredible, but they become soft before you can really enjoy them. I also wish I could order another bowl of that cabbage salad by itself. Our kids demolished the udon. Perfect texture, comforting broth and probably the easiest win of the entire meal. Will we come back? Absolutely. Totoya isn't trying to reinvent Japanese food. It's taking a handful of excellent ingredients, removing the friction and executing the experience with remarkable consistency. Sometimes that's what great restaurants do.

There was a couple in front of us who said they come here every time they visit Hawaiʻi and that it's a must-do stop on every trip. When you walk in, it's a small place. You can watch a team member washing the noodles and portioning them into bowls right in front of you. Then you choose your bowl size, small or large, and select your broth. After that, you get to choose from a variety of fried items and other à la carte options displayed on a warmer. Seating can be limited because of how busy this place gets. I'm not really sure how the validation works for it though. We didn't have reservations but were seated right away. To start off, I got the shikuwasa calpico drink. I feel like a lot of places don't have shikuwasa, so I'm really glad I can get it here. They also had a lot of other fun drinks on their menu that I would love to come back and try. For three of us, we ordered a bunch of small things to share. We got the brie, cold chicken dynamite, sweet potato, and hamachi roll. It also came with different types of salt to dip it in. All the food was delicious, but my favorite was the brie. This restaurant is fun and high energy. Service was excellent and super helpful. I would definitely recommend coming here!

The hamachi with sesame sauce was ok, I prefer hamachi cooked though. The negitoro avocado rolls were tiny but decent and fresh tasting. The 5 types of tempura had a light crispy batter and were good. My favorites were the seasonal specials of hamachi kama (huge, meaty piece!), spicy chicken, and sukiyaki tofu. The spicy chicken was not very spicy at all, maybe a 1 or 2 out of 5 stars. It was refreshing and reminded me of Chinese chicken salad with the Chinese parsley and peanuts. The sukiyaki tofu was simple but good and not too sweet. The ambiance made me feel like I was in Japan and the staff were very attentive. Great service! The people preparing the food are right in the center and they are a well oiled machine cranking out dishes without breaking a sweat or raising their voices. The noise level can get a bit loud from diners having a good time.

Steep stairs. Much easier to navigate going up. Going down after some adult beverages? Better use the handrail

Yuzu Cheese Cake ($5.50) - really sweet, especially with the granola. Would recommend getting a different dessert.

This place has been a staple for my family ever since we moved back to O'ahu a few years ago. Bottom line? The soba noodles here are utterly fantastic. They are, in my humble opinion, the best on the island, and some of the best soba noodles I've ever had. I don't think anywhere else in Honolulu comes close. You come here to eat soba. Period. In addition to the soba being phenomenal, the other offerings at i-naba are also similarly great. Their tempura in particular is outstanding. I typically order the Jumbo Shrimp Tempura Bowl & Soba or the Dx Tempura Bowl & Soba. Plus an upgrade to a large size soba! The tempura is sooo good. It's crispy, light, and airy. The jumbo shrimp is especially succulent and tender. And the ingredients are always perfectly seasoned with the sweet and savory house sauce. Yummmy! If you're looking for the best soba and awesome tempura, this is your spot!!!

I finally had lunch here a couple weeks ago and damn was my tempura and soba set broke da mout. The soba is housemade with a chewy consistency that I love. I had it cold with the dipping sauce and wow wow wow. So good. My friends suggested I get the shrimp and vegetable tempura as well which amazingly stayed crispy the whole time I savored each bite. Probably 30 minutes. Light crisp batter on perfectly cooked shrimp and veggies. Damn it was good. The service was great as well and I cannot wait to go back. Nice warm atmosphere and there's a free parking lot. It gets busy during lunch and dinner, so get there early or make a reservation. Enjoy!
