Came here for a late Father's day celebration. My brother made a reservation just in case and I would recommend doing so just to guarantee you wont be waiting long, it was busy around the 1230. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, bringing water or tea when our cups were getting low. Each of our plates was delicious. We will be back again!

What a gem! My family of 6 went to Yohei for my mom's birthday a month ago and were treated to delicious, fresh, authentic Japanese food, including a fabulous sushi bar. The menu boasts a variety of sets, noodle dishes, and an omakase option as well. The space is cozy and fits a surprisingly large amount of patrons. The tables are accessible, which was great for my grandfather and parking easy in an attached lot. We hope it be back for more sushi in the future!

I made reservations on OpenTable for Saturday. When we went on Saturday there's a line. Some people had reservations and lucky we had. Parking is kind of tight. Just be aware if you have a big vehicle. It was my husband first time. I've been coming here with my mom. I enjoyed my food. I got the sashimi combo meal. Comes with miso and soba noodles. My spouse got the chirashi meal. And I also order side of seafood tempura. It was delicious. Will I be back. Yes. We will be back. The place is clean and the customer services is great. They kept on refilling our water and tea. Thank you for reading and enjoy eating.

Went to Yohei for their lunch omakase and it was a nice low-key sushi experience. The restaurant has a very traditional Japanese feel nothing flashy, just simple and authentic. The fish tasted fresh and clean, and each piece was nicely prepared. It's the kind of place that feels like a hidden local spot rather than a trendy sushi restaurant. Perfect for a quiet lunch if you're craving a classic omakase without all the hype. Overall 9/10. Solid and satisfying. Would come back again.

I've been to Yohei many times with my son, friends, and clients. Chef Kawano is exceptional and truly takes care of his regular guests -- he recognizes his customers and makes the experience personal. The servers are friendly and personable, and the atmosphere feels authentic and welcoming. This is a true local Japanese sushi spot where many locals dine regularly. Highly recommended.

Love love love coming to Yohei! It's one of my favorite spots to come with my family to eat and talk story. I normally order their teishoku (which I highly recommend the misoyaki butterfish and unagi teishoku). Anyways, I'm glad I got their tempura-jyu because I was craving tendon! Tempura was really crispy, the sides were really good, I wish they gave more tendon sauce on the side for you to use.. Overall, Always coming back for family meetings! Also, I highly recommend making a reservation on Opentable to secure a seat!

Love supporting local. Especially those businesses who have been adversely affected by the ongoing rail project. Thats not the reason why this business deserves 5 stars. Its because, inspite of it all, Yohei continues to give 5 star service. Happy to see today's lunch time saw this restaurant with just about every table filled. Recommend dining with reservations. And the food? In our party of six persons, everyone ordering something different, everyone was so happy with their choices. My teishoku of sashimi and tempura was ohhh soooo good! Parking is easy and free in the strip mall parking lot. Bonus tip: With the construction going on Dillingham, best approach is from North King Street and then down Kokea Street turning directly into the parking lot.

The food is always so good hear. You can't go wrong with anything you pick. The staff are very friendly and respectful. There is a decent amount of parking in the lot and there is also street parking. I really enjoy going here, so not sure why it took me so long to come back. Alooooooha and happy eating.

Food:5/5 today I ordered the Zara soba with ten don Service:5/5 Always friendly Japanese accommodating service Ambiance: 4/5 casual sushi bar with some tables. Stopped in for lunch without reservations. I guess we got lucky since we were early, like before 12 noon. Latest news is they will be open on Sundays; for lunch and dinner! Yay!

Met up with a friend for lunch here during the week, and even though I've been to this plaza countless times, this was actually my first time dining at Yohei. The food was so delicious and such a great value! Their lunch sets are fantastic, lots of variety, so there's definitely something for everyone. I went with the ahi belly teishoku, which came with soba noodles, rice, miso soup, and pickled veggies. My friend ordered the sushi teishoku with tempura, and both meals were super satisfying. Service was quick and friendly, and the "aunties" working there make you feel right at home. Definitely a spot I'll be back to when I'm visiting again!

WOW, had an AWESOME Lunch :)) Stopped in for the 1st time after visiting the Nisshodo Candy Store for some Mochi-kine goodies. This restaurant is in the same parking area (right around the corner kine). Had read some reviews about this long-time 30+ years in business restaurant and figured, my wonderful wife (yeah, she is) and I, should give it a try. So HAPPY we stopped in!!! It wasn't too busy which was COOL, was around 11AM. The atmosphere is relaxing and has a warm, welcoming vibe! The staff here are very kind, attentive, and very sweet!!! Even offered to answer any questions, if we had any. The Menu is "traditional" with Teishoku-Style meals. However, we came for the Sushi. My wife wasn't too hungry so she opted for just Nigiri. She ordered 2-piece Chu-Toro, Madai, Hamachi, and Uni. Me, I was hangry kine lol I ordered the Tokujo Nigiri (Deluxe Assorted Sushi) that came with an array of Fresh and ONO kine fish. I too also ordered some Nigiri on the side, 2-piece Ikura and Kohada. I LOVE Kohada, and every other Sushi restaurant we've been to on island says they don't have it or are sold out. So BONUS for me ;) lol We were also served complimentary, Tempura Ebi Heads. Was like they read my mind because I actually LOVE fried shrimp heads ;) To end our meal, we had the Green Tea Ice Cream with Azuki Beans and Mochi. Ugh, WAS SO... GOOD!!! -- My wife LOVED the Tea Cup that the Matcha was served in, and noticed they were selling them. So we purchased 1 Tea Cup. I too was very intrigued by the T-shirt that one of the Server's was wearing. I purchased the COOL T-shirt, as well. どうもありがとうございます for the AMAZING dining experience!!!!! We'll DEFINITELY be back!!! ~ Aloha nui loa

With very friendly / helpful staff, great food, and a clean but neighborly feel, Yohei Sushi is one of the best, approachable japanese restaurants in the area. While the outside of the building shows its age, the inside looks fresh and was filled with customers. Hot tea was included for all the adults. Ordered a variety of sets that included udon, sashimi, tempura, and ahi belly katsu. Everything tasted great and used quality ingredients. Balancing an authenticity to its recipes versus a small, neighborhood restaurant feel, Yohei is a must stop for anyone looking for good japanese food that is approachable and family friendly.

The food was delicious! If you like fish I highly recommend the miso black cod! It was so buttery and tender melt in your mouth good. We also got a tempura sashimi set to share. The service was amazing it felt so welcoming and warm. I would definitely recommend this place!

I have not seen any vegan dishes, but I'm not looking for it. If I can recommend Tane Vegan Izakaya for vegan sushi and dishes. Even as a non Vegan I thought this place was great for both diets.

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. My biggest complaint is the iPad menu. It felt cluttered and is harder to navigate than it should be with all the tabs and pages. It's like trying to find hidden items. The selection is also pretty limited, so there isn't much variety. I can see what they were going for with the Japan-style conveyor belt experience, but it doesn't quite compare. The staff was friendly and efficient, though there isn't much service involved beyond seating you and clearing plates. Overall, good quality food, but I was hoping for a wider selection. I'd go again, but maybe once a year similar to many people that've gone here.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. DOMO Café, you do NOT disappoint! Domo's Kahala location has quickly become our go-to, grab-and-go…read moresushi joint. Although they have a clean and comfortable space for dining in, we regularly stop by after church or on the weekends for something to savor at our favorite park. Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. Service is fast and efficient if you're just walking in for a quick bite or to grab something to go. Parking has always been easy for us to find in the small lot in the complex where Domo is located. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.

This was my dinner day 1 of my trip back home. So delicious that I ordered again on the last…read moredinner of my trip! Spicy ahi bomb and Garlic salmon $18 - it's worth it for 8 quality pieces. The garlic salmon didn't have too much smokiness which I liked. They are not stingy when filling the inari with the spicy ahi. I did online ordering for easy pick up since the parking lot can be filled during dinner rush.
