I had a leak that I knew was related to the water fall. I called a water leak detection company and they referred me to In-depth Leak Detection specializing in swimming pools. I was worried that they didn't handle water falls but since my water fall sprouts had shut-off valves INKD included the water falls as part of the leak detection inspection (waterfalls are usually not included as noted on the website). The price for a complete leak detection inspection which includes a follow-up inspection after repairs are completed to look for addition leaks is a flat $800 payable upon scheduling. The two Technicians who worked on my job were Marcus and Blake. Marcus was the main Technician and arrived promptly at the scheduled time and Blake came towards the end of the inspection to help. Marcus was very thorough and identified 3 leaks with the most important leak that I was concerned about, the water falls. He also identified a smaller leak in one water return and another more significant problem with the skimmer separating from the deck. I also had two bad jets in my spa that Marcus removed for me and I replaced the jets. I was impressed with the professionalism, promptness, thoroughness and very clear write-up and recommendations of the repairs. Hopefully I won't need In-depth again but if I did, I would not hesitate to call In-depth. read more

High points include: staff were very communicative, techs were knowledgeable and thorough, Eduardo and helper were respectful, and attention to detail was a priority. We found that our pool was losing more water than evaporation would account for, so we called In-Depth Leak Detection. They were able to send a team out within a few days and found our leak after a thorough search (which included an underwater diver). The leak was found between the wall of the pool and the wall of the skimmer (apparently a common leak site). That required me to schedule their repair team. The next available appointment was four and a half months away, but they told me they'd try and move me into an earlier slot if one came up. Sure enough, they were able to get to our job significantly sooner. It's a 3-day job (replacing the skimmer) and they completed it in 3 days. They were careful, neat, and very professional. Do not use this company. We hired them to find a leak in our pool, and paid $450 for them to come out and they did find a hole, patched it and said to let them know if we had any issues. The next day we noticed the water levels were still dropping and told them they did not find the only leak. They told us we should just replace the pool liner because it's old and to do a bucket test to check it really was still leaking. We worked on it, continuing to have to add water and let them know the leak was not found. They said they don't garuntee the patch and that it probably came up and we need to replace the vinyl. We checked and the patch is good. We told them they did not find all the leaks and they told us it would be another $450 to come out and find the leak they never found. There is no assurances that they will actually find the leaks. read more

In Depth Leak Detection just replaced a pool sweep fitting that was leaking behind the pool wall. The precision cut and dig was spot on with no addition concrete cutting needed. The father/son team were good listeners and answered my questions in a very knowledgeable way. Explained where pumped poolwater had to go per law. Explained size of concrete cut (14×14 inches). Showed me WHY I had a cracked fitting due to the original contractor poor plumbing. Rerouted pipe to relieve any pressure on new repair. Provided instruction on how to get my sweeper going. We recently had InDepth perform a leak detection on our pool. We are going to get the pool resurfaced soon, and had found a spot near the decking that seemed to be wet often, and we do need to add water regularly, so we really wanted to get our whole system checked out before deciding on what other remodeling we may or may not want/need to do. I called 3 leak detection services which were mentioned to us by our pool service company. Out of the three places, our experience with InDepth was much better. One place never even returned my call, and another was so complicated and time-consuming to get an estimate, and then the estimate itself was very complex, and they wanted us to sign a huge complicated legal form as well. In contrast, InDepth was very responsive, on the ball, very clear and simple with their pricing and what was included. Kelsey in the office made things super easy and communicated well, and reached out to offer to move our date up when they had a cancellation. Marcus and the crew showed up on time, were very nice, and were great at explaining what they were going to do and answering questions. I left them alone and they did a wide variety of tests and then summed it all up for us. And Marcus spent a lot of time answering all my final questions. Had a wonderful experience with In-depth for a rather un pleasant pool issue. We tore threw a ton of pool chemicals this summer and couldn't figure out why until we got our sizeable water bill. Thankfully we were able to local the approximate location with a dye kit and it was where we could plug up the pipes to temporarily stop the leak because in depth couldn't make it out to do the leak detection for almost two months. I really wanted to wait for them though based on the reviews that said they worked hard to make the repairs match and blend in since it we were pretty sure that our leak was under the middle of our concrete deck right in front of the pool area entry. We have custom stamped concrete so we knew matching it was going to be tough. So we waited and I am glad we did. The leak detection team was on time and very professional. The worked efficiently and when done fully cleaned up the entire pool area where their equipment had been and even put our pipe plugs back into the pool so it wouldn't keep leaking. We got on the repair books a little quicker even with the holidays. Email communication over the few questions I had about our repair was very prompt (usually within an hour if it was still business hours). The repair team arrived on time and worked quickly. They also did a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves and even moved some of my kids toys in the nearby play area. Later I found out it was because some of the water they used for the concrete would spray in that direction. I thought that was very thoughtful. Since our concrete is unique we asked if they could pour the new slab lower than the existing deck to leave us space to later put in a tile mosaic rather than try to match the concrete. They said yes and the repair team made sure to confirm the details with me before they poured. Overall I was very impressed and would happily work with them again, although I really hope I don't have to for awhile as a busted pool is never fun. We were happy with their service when they came out the first time. The cost was $450 to find the leak and then with the repair, which took less than an hour, the total came to about $1400. Fast forward to 10 months later-the same leak was back. We were told that the warranty would be in effect if it was the same issue. After the they came out and confirmed it was the same leak, the owner Gene got back to us and said due to "ground movement" it was not covered but we would get a 10% discount so it would still be another $1100 to fix it again. The guy picked at places that had already been patched making everything so much worse. My water bill went from $100 a month to $500 a month. The company misidentified the location of the leak and it was like pulling teeth to get a resolution. They came back and found the leak about 10 feet away from the original location, after the concrete around the pool was pulled up in the original location. Unfortunately we had a serious leak in our backyard in the ground swimming pool. We were losing about 1 inch of water each day and our water bill was higher than our PG&E bill. In depth came out and conducted a survey locating three different leaks. I had the pool replastered 18 months ago. I scheduled them to do the repair. They came as scheduled and promptly made an amazing repair. Thankfully the pool deck is pavers and not cement. Cost was reasonable but more important is the follow up testing to ensure all leaks are gone and the three-year warranty. We called In-Depth because our sweep was not running well. A pool service tech said we had corrosion in our pipes was the cause. I called In-Depth and Blake came out and quickly diagnosed that this could not be the problem. The first thing he asked was I adding water to the pool the answer was no. He then checked the pressure and the sweep. He quickly said we did not have corrosion in the pool but we needed a pool service to correctly get the sweep working. Had appointment today and they called to cancel 15 minutes before arrival. "Sorry..cant make it...". Talked to the owner as for reason why and he said all their technicians called in sick. Nothing he could do...I guess coming out here himself and doing the job was out of the question. Not much of an owner. I had to take the day off to prep and observe. I had leaks related to my swimming pool and a friend encouraged me to contact Gene at this company. Everyone involved from the office staff, initial underwater inspectors who located the leaks, to the men who did the repairs and, of course Gene himself, were efficient, respectful, professional and did an AMAZING job!!!
