I was going to give 1 star but they redeemed themselves A BIT. I went for a gel manicure and regular pedicure on 5/18. I haven't been here in a long time because I was going to a different salon with my mother, but it is far away so I wanted to try a local salon. My pedicure was horrible! It was rushed, the water was cold, the woman doing the pedicure looked so annoyed to be working, she literally scrubbed for less than 5 seconds per foot, AND the massage, which is my favorite part, wasn't even 4 minutes combined between both feet. After my pedicure I sat to begin my gel manicure with a woman who seemed much happier to be at work. She shaped my nails nicely and I really liked the color, so I decided not to complain about the pedicure. I don't like to complain if I know I will be back. I liked the manicure so much I figured I'd give the place another shot in a few weeks when my manicure started chipping.... Well fast forward 5 days....my gel manicure, which is supposed to last 2 weeks, began chipping! I stopped in today 5/24 to complain and show them my two nails which were chipping. The owner looked back and checked the appointment book to see if I was there and then she told me she would fix them but I had to come back later tonight. I told her I couldn't because my kids have practice. She told me to come tomorrow and I told her my nail would be broken by then, and I couldn't anyway because I work and have to take my son for his checkup in the evening. She then had the nerve to say, "Well what do you want me to do? You can't make time for us to fix it? What do you want?" I proceeded to tell her that I had time when I made the appointment 6 days ago and expected good enough service to not have to schedule extra time for it to be fixed! I refused to leave and demanded the two chipped nails be fixed. Keep in mind there were only 2 people in the salon. She sat me down and began fixing the 2 nails. She began examining the rest of my nails and was speaking to the other worker in their language. After what seemed to be a heated conversation and full examination of my nails, she told me they would fix the 2 nails that chipped and then she told me to come back so they can do the rest. She didn't say whether or not it would be free, but she said I cannot go to the woman who did my nails in the first place. Anyway...I sat with a woman named Gina (I think) and she fixed the 2 chipped nails and touched up the tips of the other nails. This is why I gave 2 stars instead 1. They admitted they messed up and fixed it. However, after reading other reviews I discovered that this issue of the gel manicure chipping early is a common issue. Although they redeemed themselves after the rediculous comment she made about me not making time for them to fix my nails, I will never return to this place. Worst $60 I ever spent. Forget about the distance, I'll travel to Zen nails in Waldwick where my gel manicure ALWAYS lasts 3 weeks. UPDATE! 3 hours later the tips of 2 of the other nails that she touched up flaked off. It's usually busy but a good nail salon. i suggest going on a weekday in the morning when it's not as busy bc they'll take their time on ur nails (compared to a saturday morning) i love going to tony! read more

Honestly my nails were great but the following reasons are why this place could just shut down and I wouldn't care. I had made an appointment for my bridesmaids and I to get our nails done ( full sets and pedicures). Now I didn't realize they only do gels here, no acrylics. My one bridesmaid said she couldn't afford 70 for her nails so she said she wasn't getting a set even though she had an appointment. I convinced my bridesmaid 15 min later to get her nails done there and I'd pay the difference. now only 2 girls there (like put of 10) could do gel nails and they were both occupied by my bridesmaid and i. When I announced my bridesmaid would be getting gel nails, I was told that she didn't have time for her. She fought me on it and was nasty. I pointed out that we all had appointment so you should have time and she had the nerve to bring me over their appointment book and tell me there were only 2 appointments. The whole thing was chicken scratch, like I could read that. The full gel sets are 70 and fill in are 50. I mean they do good work but they're nasty and way overpriced in an area with 15 nail salons per square mile so just go somewhere else. I mean they probably won't have time for you anyway! read more

Is there an option for zero stars?! I keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt because I've been coming here on and off with my mom since before it was called Impression. They are famous for making cuticles bleed without remorse and rushing the customer but these thugs you could let slide, if you must... I guess. Today was just the worst though, I have an unexpected albeit short span of time before I have to put my 8 month old to bed so I walk in and ask if they could do a mani/pedi...the owner said 15 minutes. I waited 30 and was finally put in a pedicure chair. The water scalded me. My nail polish was removed and then the woman doing my pedicure said to put my feet in the water and that "someone will come to paint you"...she then went to the next chair and started someone else's pedicure! There was only two other people working and both were busy, who was this magical mystery fairy popping out of thin air to come finish my toes? They didn't exist. I waited 21 minutes before I realized this was happening. I agreed with myself to give them 10 more minutes, the water was now cold, my feet pruned! I waited and...nothing. I got up dried my feet and said I had to go. No one tried to stop me or assuage my frustration. Instead the owner just waved, "sorry! Bye!" Umm....wtf?! I am a long term customer of Impression-- for manis, pedis, and eyebrows. However, after my last experience, I'll be looking for somewhere else to go. I was getting a gel manicure when my manicurist said she'd be right back, and left my nails in the UV light without it even on. After 15 minutes, I tried looking for my manicurist only to find she was now working on someone else and left me. The second woman who worked on my nails did a poor, poor job. The polish lifted at the cuticle not even a week later and are peeling off. Disappointed to say the least about my latest experience. read more

I love this place. My first visit here made me leave my former nail salon behind. Always friendly and accommodating, they do a wonderful job. They are reasonably priced and offer an array of services that you cannot get a regular run of the mill nail salon and they finish it all off with a massage while you nails are drying. Will never go to another nail salon again as long as this one is open. read more

I have been going to Impression Nails for 8 years. I have a great experience every time and they always do a nice job whether it is a Old Style Gel (verses the new cheap gel polish they now have available) and my pedicures are relaxing and also very well done. I go there every 2/3 weeks. After reading some of the comments here on Yelp; I am surprised. For those who have had a bad experience it may be your own fault. I continue to be amazed that women continue to come into the salon with no appointment & state "I JUST need a mani & a pedi". You are unrealistic. Do you seriously believe that those services only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete? You can't just go walking into nail salons expecting to be serviced just because you entered the room. There are nail salons like that in malls but as you can see in those types of establishments they have health & sanitary issues. Impression Nails is better suited for the professional women who wishes to stay well groomed. and LADIES...REALLY with your cheapness in tips. How dare you tip them $2/3's! The women who work there are our sisters in life. Do you think because they work on everyone's dirty disgusting nails that they should be tipped so poorly. Take a moment & walk their shoes and tip appropriately. I tip my manicure woman $20.00 & my pedicure girl $15.00. They just spent an hour providing a service I could never do for myself. Have some class ladies. So if you would like to have your salon experience go well-Pre Plan & tip with proper etiquette. Do keep in mind most of these women have families and bills to pay just like you. How you treat people is a reflection of how you will be treated. The owner Annie is very kind and very accommodating. She needs to run a business so if you only go every once in a while establish a relationship accordingly. read more
