Today was the last straw --- I came in earlier than my appointment time and rather than honoring my appointment time, they allowed someone who was late to their appointment to go prior to me... so of course I said something. Needless to say, I canceled my appointment, and I won't be returning to any EWC facility.

I've been Sugaring probably for the past 15 years and I had an excellent aesthetician in Florida and then I moved to upstate New York, and I wanted to find someone that was equally as good here in New Jersey. I found Lotus Skin Care while doing some research on the web and call to make an appointment . I spoke with Secilia she answered all of my questions. She explained the location where they are, and the service that they provide. I made my first appointment with Secilia. I had the most amazing experience. Secilia is a consummate professional. She's friendly, inviting, and very personable. She puts you at ease and make sure that you're relaxed. She's also very communicative making sure that she understands exactly what your needs are. Every time I call Cecilia answers his phone and says hello Barbara, which adds such a nice touch a nice, personal touch. They offer many different types of Sugaring but I can say that each time Cecilia does it she does an excellent job. She talk you through it while she's Sugaring you and make sure that you're OK and also always ask if you have any questions. I would definitely recommend anybody that is looking for a new location or has never had a sugaring before and wants a new experience or any other services to check them out. It's an excellent location And the space is absolutely gorgeous. You walk it is calming, it's serene, and inviting. The decor is just absolutely beautiful.

We all need time for self-care and finally made that appointment to get my eyebrows done at Rupi's…read more I had seen on their website that appointments needed to be made and easily made an appointment through text message. Once confirming my appointment, they had forwarded a photo of their new rules for the customers. Which is totally understandable. I was sent a link for a pre-screening questionnaire the day prior and took no longer than 2 minutes to fill out. On the day of my appointment, I had arrived 5 minutes prior as per their rules. No other customers were in the salon at the time. As soon as I entered, there was another pre-screen survey and temperature check. They sanitized their work area and seat prior to me sitting down in the chair. As always, I was very happy of the end results of the eyebrow threading. They do a very thorough job and take their time. I never feel rushed when I am there. Their prices are fair comparable to other salons. And plenty of parking behind the building and street parking. I will be back again in 2 weeks for another touch up! I highly recommend this salon for all your threading/waxing needs.

So with COVID precautions in place, you have to text a number and you figure out an appointment time. Once figured out, she sends you a list of rules to follow which is perfect. The place is clean, it was empty, and I saw my lady wipe the chair down before I sat. Excellent. Now when it came to the services, my lady was sweet and kind. Easy to talk to. I got a simple threading and I wanted to try the eyebrow tinting as well. Sigh, I understand my eyebrows aren't the easiest to thread bc it can be very sparse but my lady threaded it thinner when I said just to clean. I felt like she was trying to create an arch when my brow just does not naturally arch so it created the middle of my brow to look thinner and unnatural. After the tinting, I know it looks more dramatic bc the dye is more prominent but it's clear where she put the dye and how it was going to look and it looked so uneven and I know my brows don't look THAT uneven. I had tinting done before and it looked amazing, but this time around at this location it just wasn't good. Would I go back? I would to try and give them a second chance maybe I just have to be more clear and explicitly say just clean and keep it thick but we'll see.

The short & sweet version: Ann has 25+ years of experience, knows what she is doing and she is more…read morethan highly qualified to take care of your unwanted hair needs. She will take care of you, her prices are out-of-this-world amazing (affordable), and what really separates her from the rest is that she WANTS to help you. I personally feel that when you're doing something that yields permanent results, you should do your research in finding a qualified professional to help you with your issue. This person for me is Ann Di Marco, Certified Electrologist. My first phone call with Ann fully convinced me that she wants to help me and is the most qualified person to do so. We played a bit of phone tag, but she made sure to return every single call I made to her. She willingly answered all the questions I had regarding electrolysis, her experience, her methods, etc. I scheduled a one-hour session with her at the end of the phone call. She moves quickly and doesn't answer the phone during your session - she respects that you are paying for the time so she doesn't waste a single second of it. $75 is what she charges for one hour (I included a photo of her pricing list) and she refused to take a tip! This only furthers my original belief that she really does want to help people and isn't in this just for the money. She stops very briefly to cool down the area that she is working on and frequently checks in with you to make sure you are comfortable (or at least, as comfortable as you can be with this type of appointment). Her office is quite easy to find and on a main avenue in the town of Hawthorne. Parking is available in the back & Ann personally greets each guest. Reservations are required, but Ann is flexible and will work with you to find a time that works. Recommended? Highly so! I am really looking forward to my future sessions with Ann. Also, one final note - only cash or personal check is accepted. NO credit cards.

I honestly didn't enjoy anything from the experience even though I paid for a luxury cut. My stylist Neschenka was amazing, super professional, talented, and clearly cared about doing things the right way. Before starting, she wanted to do a consultation first (which makes complete sense), but the woman at the front desk loudly called her out in front of everyone about being 15 minutes late and kept pushing the assistant to start me anyway. Even though Neschenka told her twice she wanted to see me first before getting me started. The tension was THICK. Like... painfully awkward. And the craziest part? I wasn't even upset or complaining. Why are you upset over 15 minutes when I wasn't. It just felt really unnecessary and unprofessional to handle things like that in front of clients and coworkers instead of privately. The whole place had such weird mean-girl energy for no reason. It's not like it's a high end salon it's a basic old lady salon. I've been to many high end salons and waited over thirty minutes. Sometimes it takes a little longer since stylists actually care about quality. Waiting is a good sign! Thankfully Neschenka handled it with grace, and my hair came out BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, she's way too talented for that environment. The front desk woman really needs freshen up on leadership skills. Cause that was NOT it! I won't be back to support the salon but def will support Neschenka at any other place.

I didn't care for the vibe at all, as other stylists were talking about a recent customer that had complained about the cost - unprofessional IMO. Further, While my stylist was very nice and I tried being friendly and asked her about herself, not once did she reciprocate or ask anything about me. To cap it off, there was heavy pressure at checkout to book another appointment. Overall, the experience just wasn't worth the cost and I won't be returning.
