It was a good nail saloon but needs to improve the appointment time, no double booking!

I have been here before and left for a while due to one of the pedicure techs being very rough. The new girl that did my pedicure didnt even smile once and she was very rough! She cut me from the start while cutting my cuticles. I didn't even want her to continue to risk getting cut again. Then she didnt let the rock cool off before putting it on my skin and it burned enough for me to jump. At that point I just wanted to her paint my nails so I can just go. The paint job was pretty crappy too. Not happy at all. I should have left as soon as she cut me, but I didnt want to seem as though I was trying to get a free service. So I paid my bill and still tipped her. I will probably not come back again. read more

What a busy nail salon! Definitely make an appointment way in advance! The salon is very nice instead. Huge huge wall of gel colors and separate huge wall for regular nail polish. In addition, they have many design ideas below the wall of nail colors to choose from and pre colored nails of every color to hold against your own nail to see if you like the color. I believe majority of the techs did both mani and pedi instead of having separate techs for pedicure. But the service was pretty quick and my sisters loved their mani pedi. Love the prices too especially with the discount getting both mani pedi done! Regular combo is $30. What a deal! Just don't like the fact that they run you down for a tip lol (I literally saw the receptionist chance someone to the door saying are you going to tip....crazy) let people decide that on their own). Just FYI if this location is busy there is another location in Bayonne! There is also a small parking lot in the back that gets filled pretty quickly. read more

Found this little gem of a salon two weeks ago. I got new set of acrylics my daughter had a gel manne pedi. Elin was fabulous, took her time and two weeks later nail are still looking amazing. The ombré finish she did for me I've gotten so many compliments on! Young did my daughters and she was very happy too. Prices are same as everywhere else! Parking is easy and service was very friendly and we chatted about our daughters up coming weddings. I just found my new go to place. If I had to say only thing missing I got from my other salon would be that little shoulder massage they give you. Which I always love. But I can't judge them on that. I am very disappointed. I have been going to this place for almost a year. Since I started, I have asked for coffin nails and even brought in pictures but somehow ended walking out with something else. I kept going because the place is nice and I wasn't entirely unhappy with the work. I just wasn't getting what I asked for. What's funny is that one time they even charged me for a shape change $5. I never asked for a shape change. You never gave me the friggin shape I've been asking for since I started coming here. Duh!!! Finally I gave up on ever having coffin nails and I decided to just stop with the fill ins. All they did was file down the gel coating and painted my nails/. I got charged $10 for removal which never took place and my nails are lumpy af. I'm so embarrassed. I'm done with this place and their stupid prices for changes they never did. 2024 prices - mixed feelings about this salon as I do not agree with the surcharge if you return for a fill after 4 weeks. Aside from that I guess the prices are fair compared to nearby salons. It is not a fancy establishment, but it is clean. Staff is adequately friendly. I have never left feeling like they did a bad job. I will add that I have been charged $20 extra to add 2-3 extensions when I came for a fill one time which was upsetting at the time. I recommend clarifying the price prior to the manicure. read more

Worst place I've ever seen! I called to take an appointment to do my wedding nails and i told them over the phone that i want june to do my nails and i also brought 4 other girls with me. June started my nails by putting a very thick layer of gel on my nails and she left my nails and started doing someone else's nails and another guy came to complete my set it took him 4 hours to file the gel down i went there at 1 o'clock and by 5:10 my nails weren't even done. Ok. So my kid goes here all time.... I go here for a simple eyebrow wax and gel manicure. Simple right? Well the manicure was good. Gotta give them that. However the wax was a nightmare. Pull. Tug. Not impressed...at all. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! I got the gel mani + pedi for $55 and tbh the quality is a $20 job. For one, my big toes were filed into the shape of triangles!! They were so sharp I was certain they would cut a whole through my socks. I was partially impressed at how the heck you get a square toe nail into a full blown triangle. SECONDLY!! This is my go-to nail salon! I've been coming to this salon for about two years and wouldn't go anywhere else. For pedicures, they make sure to use a plastic cover for the chairs, so you have no contact with it. They also sanitize the chairs after each use. After they sterilize their tools (nail clippers etc) they individually package them, so they use a new, clean, set of tools every time. (Other salons in the area don't do this.) the place is clean and they offer you a choice of lavender or green tea scented scrubs for your pedicure. And they use a hot stone! Heidi is my favorite! She's the reason why I keep coming back - without her, I'd give Aphrodite 4 stars instead of 5. She makes sure to take her time with each client, and she does such a great job. This place is about a 5 minute drive from my house so I tried it out with my sister in law and we both thought it was a great value! We both got pedicures with regular polish. The pedicure was very extensive- it included cuticle care, nail shaping (cut & file), green tea or lavender foot scrub, lotion massage, and a warm heel softening liquid they wrap around your heel while they do the polish. It was $25 for the service on a Saturday and the staff was very kind and attentive. The tools they used were from a fresh pack and clean. Will definitely be returning here again! read more

Update since my last visit Not sure if they're under new management But the service has definitely changed and the nail techs are definitely not all on equal levels. I believe the one who I always seemed to end up with after my 4th visit was named June, she was an older woman (I am as well) but she was messy and took forever. I belive in giving a few chances, in Hopes that things would improve but they didnt she couldnt do even simple designs I went for my bi-weekly gel refill and a specific design in mind (with inspiration pics) and was given a different tech he did the refill fine but I left there paying $70 and extremely dissatisfied with the design It was really horrible I wish I had taken pics but I was so disappointed I immediately went to another salon to have them redone. They're all super friendly and follow appropriate cleaning methods. Yes, even if you are JUST getting a pedi.. APPOINTMENT! You'd be pretty disappointed to sit and wait 30+ minutes to be seen. On that note-give yourself enough time for your nail tech to finish their work. First time here & my LAST !!! Despite the good job my pedicure lady did i left this place highhhhhhly upset. While sitting getting my pedicure done I had decided to so my brows done. I went ahead and asked my lady who could do my brows and specified on exactly what I wanted. I just moved to the area of Clifton, and finally found a place I love getting my nails done. They gave you a card for everything you get their services done. Every ten visits it says the next one is free for manicure. I get gel manicure and regular pedicure done, the lady said I can't get a free manicure on my free service only regular manicure. No where on the card says you get it for only regular manicure. What is the point having the card for the people who don't get regular manicure done? That's a false advertisement!!!!! read more

Okay I'm so sad to write that I'm no longer a loyal customer. The last few times I went here have been less than stellar. For instance, I went to repair one broke nail and the nail tech assigned to me took maybe 3 minutes total with me. She only used one coat of gel and one coat of polish. Needless to say that nail came off later that night. I returned about 2 days later for a full gel refill. My nail tech was Sarah. Nice enough. Middle nail finger is one inch longer on hand. Sigh. When today for Mani/pedicure looking a place close to home and I was gladly surprised! The girls who did my pedicure was pretty great and the gel manicure came out really good. The atmosphere was clean and girls over here were friendly but not too much (which I loved). Prices are pretty cheap as well. Hopefully my gel manicure last over 2 weeks. This salon claims to do SNS manicures but their nail technicians have no idea how to do it. I've been getting them done for the last year so I'm familiar enough with the basic steps SARAH had no idea what she was doing when she did my SNS manicure & had the worst attitude when I was trying guide her (which I should not have to do anyways). My manicure looked absolutely awful! She didn't buff my nails down at all after she dipped my nails in the powder, so it was all bumpy and the gel top coat she used began peeling a couple hours later. I went in the next day (a Sunday) & apparently no one in the salon knew how to fix it. I asked for my money back instead & they surprisingly gave it to me(reason for the 3 stars instead of 1). However, I believe this salon should only offer services their technicians KNOW how to do, they are just wasting people's time & their money otherwise. read more

This place is great! I got there 30 minutes before my appointment and they took me right away. I had a french gel manicure($32) done by a very sweet woman. I think her name is Ana. She made sure I was happy with my nails. They also use new cuticle scissors and stuff in a package that they open in front of you so very sanitary place. Extremely clean and a lot of polishes. I had a very relaxing spa pedicure here with my friend. Very accommodating and professional staff. I can't speak too much on the quality of the work only because I just got a spa pedicure and standard manicure. I was there for the relaxation and pampering which I truly felt. What I'd like to expound on is the professionalism and care: Their facility and operations were updated to address the COVID requirements. Our temperatures were checked upon entrance. I saw that they used new tools for each client. Clients were spaced away from each other to ensure proper distancing. Plexi-glass partitions were in place to separate client and technician. It was end of the business day so I did see staff disinfecting all used areas. I felt safe, and I appreciate the staff's consideration. I hope they keep this level of operation up for the year. We tried a few on my fingers to see which I liked until I found my favorite. My nails look amazing and clean! I don't go here for my acrylic set anymore since the last owner Sam sold this. I always only come here for pedicures just because it's different and good for the price they have it for. Sometimes, I will need a gel manicure but unfortunately, they did not greet me, then a nail tech came to the gel polish rack and didn't say excuse me after she was trying to get the books in front of me while I was looking at them?? I was waiting for 10 minutes to at least be greeted or be told a waiting time frame but none of that was told to me which required me to leave. I've had their gel manis before and they are always a little out of shape but I'm always a person who gives more chances than usual. I will only come here for the pedicures from now on since their staff for pedicure are much more nicer than the ones who do your manis. They're very rude and act fake nice if you know what I mean. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I usually get a gel mani with Aracely and regular Pedis with Ericka. I tend to go Thursdays or Fridays in the morning and they're always able to accommodate me. Usually, when I want something simple, I pay 50 without the tip included. I love Aracely because she's very delicate and a perfectionist if something doesn't come out right. I usually ask her if she could do any designs but when she doesn't feel to comfortable I don't push her because she still pampers me, she makes me fall asleep and that's exactly what I look for when I get a these services: "Relaxation". I also grow lots of cuticles, so after 2 weeks I already have some skin around my nails, but it doesn't change the quality since I work with my hands a lot, they don't tend break nor chip. Because of Aracely they're so long and nice! I never pictured my nails to look this nice! When I get my pedis with Ericka, she makes me fall asleep with the awesome massage and how she cleans up my toenails and prevents them from getting any ingrown nail! When I'm in a rush to get the work, they both work together to get me out of there as soon as possible! I love it! Hopefully it doesn't turn as crappy as the other nail salons where they just want to get you out. I love the spa like feeling! read more
