They didn't tell me it was expired while I was there, let me use half of it, then crossed out the expiration date and made it a date in expire 10/30/25. I was unaware they back-dated it because I was in a hurry to put it in my pocket since I was in rush. Fast forward to today, I went to use it and obviously it wasn't honored because of that new date. I understand that it expired and of course I'm fine not using it since it's completely my fault. It was just the most bizarre experience because 1. No one mentioned it was expired the first time I was there (which I would have been fine paying for my pedicure if someone explained that to me instead writing in a new date so couldn't use it again) Also I'm just not sure why they would give me back a gift certificate that I can't use anymore or never mention that it was expired. 2. What kind of place has a 1 week or 1 month expiration date? (Thinking about it I'm wondering if it the date a typo since it was handwritten because most places around here have a 1 year expiration date when I buy them or am gifted them.) Also my nails were different lengths and the polish I used developed white spots on top (it was a light purple) With so many wonderful places in Montclair, I would definitely consider buying a gift certificate somewhere else with a longer expiration date, a more clear policy, or somewhere that will take the time to explain these dates and policies if you have an issue like I did if you are looking to purchase a gift.

I made an appointment at this nail salon on the recommendation of a friend and left highly…read moreimpressed! The atmosphere was much more calming and quiet than other salons I've been to. I later found out this was due to them primarily specializing in gel nails, as opposed to acrylics which always come with the sound of drills and the smell of acrylic. I got a gel mani and pedi and was very happy with the results. There was a wide variety of normal and gel polish colors, along with many dip powder selections. The nail techs and owner were very nice and helpful throughout the whole process, joking around occasionally but also providing a calming silence when appropriate. They gave me good advice about color choices and my nail tech shaped and painted my nails perfectly! I've been to salons where the techs are kind of pushy and shoot down your input while they're painting your nails, but this salon was definitely not like that. I was concerned about my color being too see-through and my nail tech immediately corrected the issue by offering to paint another coat. They give you a shoulder massage at the end of your mani and have a pretty in-depth pedicure which includes hot stone massage and hot oil treatments for your heel which overall make the experience much more "pampering" and spa-like than the average nail salon. All of this combined with their very reasonable prices made my experience very enjoyable. I will definitely be recommend this salon to my friends!
