I have been coming here for a few years now. The service is consistently good. Julie, who is the owner, is very nice and does a fabulous, lightning quick job when she does my fill ins. I always get a filll in and a pedicure. I get to relax while they do my pedicure and they always give a little mini massage on the back and shoulders after they are finished. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I went to Park Ave Nails in Rutherford hoping to treat myself, and I walked out $105 poorer and seriously disappointed. For that price, I expected salon-quality nails -- crisp shape, smooth polish, clean cuticles -- but what I got looked like something done by an amateur. The shape was uneven, the polish was bumpy, and honestly, I've had better looking nails after doing them myself at home. I couldn't believe the total when I went to pay. $105 for a basic set that should've been around $60 anywhere else especially since I've gotten better work for cheaper in New York City, where prices are supposed to be higher! It's not just about the money it's about feeling totally ripped off. I kept looking at my nails thinking, "This cannot be real." I hate writing bad reviews, but this experience was rough from start to finish. The work doesn't justify the price, and honestly, I could've asked my grandma to do these and gotten the same result. read more

This is me and my mom's go-to nail salon in Rutherford. Pros: - Super fast service. You can get in and get out with a Gel Mani in 30 mins. I have never had such fast service that still looked good!! - Cheap pricing. If you get a gel mani, they don't charge you extra for taking off previous gel. Again, unheard of in big cities. - There's a membership program you can enroll in to get points for the money you spend. You can earn free mani's and such. You also get double points when you pay in cash. Cons: - I've had different people do my nails and some are great and some are really bad. One time, I had a lady (didn't get her name) and I told her she was hurting my cuticles when she was filing the side of my nails and she just laughed at me and shrugged it off. I told her again later and she seemed annoyed and made it seem I was being sensitive about it. Then when she gave me a shoulder massage (comes with the mani), I asked her to do light pressure and again she seemed annoyed and did not follow my request. When I left the salon, though my nails looked good, my shoulders were red and in pain, and my side of my nail(by where she was filing) was hurting like crazy. The skin was rubbed raw and kept hurting for a whole week after. This only happened one time that I've been here and my mom never had bad experiences. So now I know which lady to avoid. read more

I've been coming here for TEN YEARS and should have stopped coming a long time ago. The owner JULIE for some reason is nasty and has an attitude only towards me. She kindly greets and says bye to every guest and knows all of their names but has not learned mine (or has but just chooses to be nasty towards me) I had one bad experience a few years ago and I called after I left to let her know I wasn't satisfied with my nails that she upcharged me $80 for in the most respectful way I could because I'm a regular and she came back very defensive. After that I swear she advises her workers to do a bad job on my nails because I leave disappointed every time. In the pictures attached I asked for a simple French manicure which if you re working at a nail salon you SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO. the results are so bad, thin, uneven and sloppy. The woman that did it should not be working there anymore every time I go to her she messes up a simple manicure. Obviously I'm nice enough to not deny a service by her since I ask for something simple sometimes just a plain color and she still manages to mess it up. They give a quick hand massage and shoulder rub at the end and she does that with the least amount of effort possible. This will be my last time coming unfortunately and I hope the owner JULIE reads this and knows exactly who I am. read more

I forgot to schedule a pedicure for an event I have in less than 24 hours. I called to see if they could take me as a walk in and they fit me in! I wasn't expecting anything special but I ended up getting an amazing spa pedicure!! My technician took her time and was so pleasant. My feet feel amazing and my toes look great. My first experience at this place was ok. I stopped in for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure in which Joy did a great job. I really enjoyed the pedicure. I went back 3 weeks later for another pedicure and gel manicure. This time was different. The pedicure was not at all like the first one. First off, the tools used were NOT cleaned right after using them on another customer. I saw the lady Mimi take the bin and not clean the tools and I asked her were those cleaned ? She just used them on a lady who was sitting right next to me. Second, the first time Joy used oil and the hot rocks. The second time a different worker, Mimi, did not so I asked what comes with the regular pedicure as I was a bit thrown off. She made a big deal about me asking a simple question which I just brushed off. When my pedicure was done I got up to go get my nails done and Mimi did not move any of the chairs out of the way meanwhile I was holding my belongings and my toes were wet so it was very difficult to move multiple chairs and other items out of the way. I have never had that happen at any other salon and it was very rude. Lastly, they continued to talk about me (the owner, Mimi, and another worker) the entire time I was there and at the end as I was leaving asked me if I live around the area which was very strange. Mimi was also extremely rude and rough. This was just my experience and I will not be back. The tools not being clean is unacceptable. Really not sure how this place has good reviews. I tried this place a few years back (8 years ago approximately) and did not care for it but decided to give it another try. I guess it depends who you get but the owner was extremely rude and I will not be giving anymore business. I left Mimi a tip too which she didn't deserve. read more

When I told her that I was concerned about being too bossy, she told me not to worry. She knows what my preferences are and how I like them done and she assured me that I wasn't being bossy. Please don't waste your time ! I went in and had a old set of nails that needed to be taken off , the lady was being rough , I told her she was hurting me but she continued to be rough . Once my nails were off , I proceeded to look through my phone and find a picture of silk wrap extensions since I didn't want acrylic . They have a large color selection, and I like that they don't soak the old gel off. I explained I currently had gel and needed a gel fill/mani and a gel pedicure I was quoted a price, I repeated what she quoted me twice!! I walked in not even 10 min later. I am writing this because I got an infection and nail fungus from Gina using the same emory board that she had used on others. There was a woman there who clearly had advanced toenail fungus. Gina did her before me. I thought she threw the emory board away and I went wash my hands. Later, I asked if she used a new board on my nails and she said, 'expensive, I cleaned it.'
