I've been coming to Green Tea Nails for a little over a year now and I love the way Ly (Lee) does my nails. I'm posting this picture because I'm so happy to find the closest thing to a Russian Manicure. This is UV gel, Ly does an amazing job cleaning the cuticles. Let's start with the $25 gel mani which got me all excited since the place I normally go to is $38+. I expected a nice gel mani not bumpy nails which started turning yellow after TWO days. Early finished I was so upset. Just because I am younger and not 40+ in my work clothes does not mean I do not deserve the treatment the other women in the salon got. Now the pedicure... I made an appointment at this nail salon on the recommendation of a friend and left highly impressed! The atmosphere was much more calming and quiet than other salons I've been to. I later found out this was due to them primarily specializing in gel nails, as opposed to acrylics which always come with the sound of drills and the smell of acrylic. I got a gel mani and pedi and was very happy with the results. There was a wide variety of normal and gel polish colors, along with many dip powder selections. The nail techs and owner were very nice and helpful throughout the whole process, joking around occasionally but also providing a calming silence when appropriate. They gave me good advice about color choices and my nail tech shaped and painted my nails perfectly! I've been to salons where the techs are kind of pushy and shoot down your input while they're painting your nails, but this salon was definitely not like that. I was concerned about my color being too see-through and my nail tech immediately corrected the issue by offering to paint another coat. They give you a shoulder massage at the end of your mani and have a pretty in-depth pedicure which includes hot stone massage and hot oil treatments for your heel which overall make the experience much more "pampering" and spa-like than the average nail salon. Gel Manicure (French) & Regular Pedicure Review Gel Manicure (French): I had Joanna. While I give her credit for giving my nails a nice shape there are 1-2 spots (near the cuticle) where gel was not applied. Luckily the color covered up the issue well. They don't have an airbrush machine so my French manicure did not look as fresh and polished as it usually does. I have tiny air bubbles and "nicks" on the white part, already. :-( Pedicure: The girl I had hurt me. She cut to deep and was practically peeling off my skin cuticle. I wouldn't get a pedicure here, again. Gel Manicure Durability (1 week after gel manicure): Normal use of my hands and two nails are already chipped. One nail's top coat has come half off. Perhaps this is a one off situation but I never had this issue at my normal nail spot. Sadly, I moved up north and I was looking for a new place (so I didn't have to drive 40 min south). Would I recommend the business? If you want a gel manicure with a coat of paint (not French), I would say try it, see if the gel manicure lasts (for you). I've been going to this place for years. The nail technicians have all been the same for quite some time and they all do a wonderful job. As long as you communicate to them I'm sure you will receive great service. They are gentle and take their time to ensure a good experience. Appointments are best because they do get busy. I have been coming to this salon for a few months now after the previous nail salon I frequented no longer satisfied my needs. I normally come here to get a mani/pedi on a Mon/Tues/Wed (which is great since they have a $20 mani/pedi special). It is pretty busy even on a weekday at non-peak hours, but I've never had a problem walking in without an appointment (usually less than a 10 min wait). The girls do a great job, especially with the pedicure massage. Most of the girls are meticulous, providing just the right amount of pressure in their massage technique. Their massage chairs also work -- and are great (I make it a point to mention this, because my previous salon had a chair that was out of service for months and they made no effort to fix it!) The salon is also clean and their towels always smell so fresh! Their nail polish selection is on the meager side, which isn't a problem for me since I have a bit of a nail polish addiction and bring my own anyway. You may not always be greeted with a, "hello" when you walk in the door, but the girls are genuinely nice and provide great service-- and for a $20 bargain of a mani/pedi (Mon-Wed), I could care less if they say "goodbye" to me when I walk out! read more

I went here in December because the reviews here seemed really good and also because their gel manicures were only $25. I've gone there at least 5 times since then and I really really love it there. The place is quite small, but it's really comfortable. I would suggest that you make an appointment if you want to be taken quickly, but you can always come here as a walk-in. But if you come in as a walk-in, expect to wait some time because appointments get taken before walk-ins (naturally). I have seen many people complain about not being taken immediately after walking-in and I cannot stand this. If you are going to walk-in then, like I said, you will wait some time. You don't NEED an appointment but it's always wise to make one, as it can get pretty busy especially later in the week. As I sit here with my toes in the drier, I can let you know that mondays are definitely a quieter time if you'd like to sneak in sans appointment. My pedicure was (an is consistently) good here. I wanted to give some local businesses a try, to keep up the town's economy. I walked into Green Tea Nail Salon on a Friday morning, without an appointment. The owner, an extremely friendly woman, welcomed me and immediately sat me down for a pedicure. The lady performing my pedicure was professional and did a great job. I had to wait a while between pedi and nails. The owner told me asked me if I minded her taking people with appointments before me. I am not one to make a scene so I said I didn't mind at all, even though I knew these were the people calling for appointments after I walked in (I heard the name and time she told them). I wasn't that impressed with that at all. She did do a fabulous job on my nails when I finally got the opportunity to sit down before her. Her name was Linda I believe. The prices are a bit steep for even Nutley. I don't know why salons in higher valued home areas feel the need to gauge you with their prices. It seems to be the case, however. If you have the money to spare to spend too much on your nails, I would recommend Green Tea. Otherwise, I'll keep on moving to the next one that'll do the same job for a lot less money. read more

I came here for a new nail salon since I moved. It is Labor Day weekend so I took that into consideration. Everyone was very friendly even the clients who were there. I saw some good sterilzation and disinfection after clients did a pedicure and a manicure. It was at 10 and I had to wait a bit because I didn't have an appointment. I was helped by a nice young lady named Paola and I am very please with the end results. I did a regular pedi along a gel manicure. The color selection is very impressive. Called on Thursday at noon to ask prices, then made appointment for gel mani $25 and reg pedi $17. Plus one finger nail done in LCN $5. Note: Mon-Wed $20 reg mani pedi special. There are 4 pedi stations, 6 mani stations, and at least 1 or 2 private rooms for waxing (I didn't go in back area). Looked clean and organized throughout; decor is nice neutral spa feeling, charming little space with lots of natural light. A nice Hispanic lady, did the usual pedicure; soak, clean, file, and polish. Bonus was paraffin wax treatment on the heals, not all places do this in basic pedi. The treatment was done well, didn't feel rushed, took the time to massage, then carefully applied polish. Escorted to manicure station...it was set up for gel and lady was welcoming, I didn't get her name, (Older lady no glasses with long dark hair). She was helpful in my broken nail issue, (parrot bit me, broke/cracked my nail at flesh) she told me upfront that it was $5 extra and if was sure I was ok w/ the additional cost. I confirmed then got started with broken nail first. She checked with me throughout the repair that she was not hurting me. Didn't over file my nails while preparing for gel application and was meticulous when she applied the color gel and the LCN. Finished and paid, Note: Cash Tips only, can't apply to credit card. Salon is clean and the women working there are friendly and do not rush. I went right before the holidays and they were pretty busy although I did not have to wait since I made an appointment. They have standard massage chairs and a decent selection of nail color. The lady who did my pedicure was good however I do wish she did a deeper scrubbing and a better massage. The manicure was really good - she took her time and the design turned out great! They charged me $5 extra for the nail art. They give you a back massage while you wait for your nails to dry. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it seems that the appointment situation is a little crazy. Otherwise I had a UV gel set put in, the lady took the old one off which the person who originally did it at a different salon did a horrible job and she fixed it. The owner is super nice she smiles, talks to her customers and knows almost everyone's name especially people who go there often. Things like that matter to me, nothing worse than going somewhere paying good money and no one says a word to you or even acknowledge you are there. This is a pretty decent nail spot. It is clean, bright, and spacious. I love that it's open on Sundays which is when I usually find the time to get my nails done. They also have a large variety of gel colors. I prefer to have Joanna do my gel manicure. She is pretty good, takes her time and does a thorough job. I had one of the other manicurist do my gel mani once and felt like she totally rushed thru it (which caused my manicure to chip within days), even though there were no customers waiting. Since then I have made it a point to not have her take me. The pedicures I have gotten here are good, but I have had better. The massage pedicure chairs are great though. Got a gel manicure & regular pedicure done today and was very pleased with both! I get nervous going to new salons bc you never know if there gonna be clean & if your about to waste $50 bucks or so however this was not the case. Lee did my gel mani and did a great job of cutting them (just a little bit as I asked), filing & cutting of the cuticles. I did a white color as I'm going away and she applied 3 coats and also told me to be careful with what I touch to ensure the tips do not change colors. My pedicure wasn't as great as the gel mani but she still did a good job. I did realize while she was filing that she was making my toes a funny shape so I asked her to fix it and she did just that. She also did a good job with the callus remover. I would def be back for a gel mani with Lee. Oh and for the record, they greeted me and say "thank you, have a nice day" on the way out. read more

Walked into the salon a few minutes early for my appointment. No one acknowledged me when I walked in. I kept trying to make eye contact with someone working there until someone finally asked if I needed help. The service was good, the woman who did my manicure and pedicure did a good job. My only complaint was that the french manicure did not come out that great. She did, however, redo several nails and I know she tried really hard to get it to look better. In her defense, all the white nail polish was old and clumpy/sticky, so it was hard for her to get the paint on my nail properly. $30 for mani pedi is a good price. Also, being open on Sundays is a plus! Also, I was a little jealous that I did not get a holiday gift! It was my first time there, and maybe they only gave gifts to returning customers, but I kept seeing all the women around me receive some kind of lotion or hand creme.
