I started with Ken and I was quite pleased and impressed with his skills. Sadly Ken is no longer there. However, Ana is just as skilled. I've been getting my nails done for many years and I am very happy to have found a place like Sonny's. And the prices aren't exorbitant. Thank you Sonny's. read more

I have been trying to come here for a while now but I always heard horror stories about a no opening for weeks for walk-in waits of over 3 hours and so I stayed away. I walked in on a Tuesday at 6 and there were about 4 people already waiting ... they close at 7. So I asked for an appointment thinking I would have to wait another week to get my nails done. Luckily someone cancelled the next day and I was able to get in. I arrived the next day and was immediately sat down for a pedicure. Once my pedicure was done I sat and waited for 45 mins before I could get my nails done. So even though you have an appointment EXPECT to wait. Overall I was there for 3 hours but at least the end result was worth it. Thankfully my guy works on Sundays and now I know to make appointments read more

I really like this place, best salon in Belleville. I've tried almost every nail salon and have had a really hard time finding a reliable place since moving here. I think I've had the same experience with this male tech mentioned in other reviews, who does not speak much at all, or may not be able to speak English well enough to talk to clients. The last two times he did my nails they were coated THICK, uneven, and dented by the application brush, with bubbles. This time (three times with same tech) they are not. He did a decent job. He also has a habit of spilling the gel on my cuticles (my nails/hands are small so I understand it's not an easy job) but nonetheless, it is annoying. As you can see in the picture, the spillage looks sloppy and ends up being where my nails start to chip prematurely. You really aren't going to find a better place than this though, unless you venture outside of Belleville. read more

Nature l polish last longer than usual ! They do a great job weather is gel manicures or acrylic. No complaint

When it comes to manis and pedis I'm always loyal to nail salons when their work is consistently on point and their prices can't be beat. So I was sad to find out the salon I was going to in Kearny closed without notice. A friend told me about Sonny's so I checked it out. I was not disappointed. Consistency - CHECK! $25 Gel Manicures - CHECK! As others have noted, if you don't make an appointment you will be waiting. SO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. And just a heads up, even if you make an appointment, you are still going to wait. I had an appointment for 4:30 and waited over half an hour until my appointment began. Additionally she was simultaneously giving a manicure to another client. For this reason, I cannot give a full 5 star review. I keep it simple with polishes/designs however I've seen what this establishment can do and they do a great job with intricate and creative styles and are always willing to reproduce a design if you bring in a picture. They have A TON of gel colors and also do gel pedicures which is a first that I've seen in any salon. Park across the street in the K Mart parking lot. If you're calling to make an appointment you might have to try a few times to get through. read more

Got my nails done at this place and it was the worst job ever. The guy spoke zero English I wonder if he really has a license to be a manicurist( how did he pass the test). Crooked, uneven nails. He kept hurting my nails and filling them like a piece of wood. Not only that ,he took a 30 minute break for lunch, I counted on my watch as he went and left me sitting waiting. I went back the next day to fix it the owner was very rude. Didn't look at my face didn't say hi or sorry. Fixed my nails the way he thought would be ok( they still don't look good). Very unfriendly people with zero personality. Take your money some place else. The women and men who work there are so rude it's unbelievable they are still open. Place is so dirty unsanitary the health department should be called on them. Update a day later one of the nails fell off By the 6th day two more nails fell off read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I have been going there for years. Yes you have to make an appointment and yes they are not good about answering their phone and yes you have to wait even after you have made an appointment but the quality of work is unprecedented. Exceptional work and they are so talented I generally go to either Sonny or Tali so I don't know about the other nail techs but I love this place!!! And these are just a small example of the designs they have done for me. read more

Sonny's is a good nail spot when you consider their pricing for quality of service: $20 for a gel manicure and $15 for a regular pedicure is an amazing deal. They have all the popular names - Essie, Shellac, OPI - as well as some lesser-known brands. They are located at the corner directly across from Kmart's lot. That's where I ended up parking my car. They use the electric filer instead of manually filing away the top layer of gel manicures. This makes it faster, but it is not uncommon to feel high levels of heat because of this. The staff are mostly concerned with just getting the job done and don't make time for small chit-chat. I messed up my pinky toe at one point and it annoyed the lady, but at least she helped me fix it. I was pretty happy with the turnout of my gel mani and pedicure. Their interior can be a bit of an eyesore, but that's more of a preference thing, imo. And $35 for this combo is hard to beat. read more

Sonny's Nails & Spa - After 3+ hrs of cleaning and scrubbing at home, this Shellac mani is still fully intact! Great job done by Sonny's (Color: S1) - Nail Salons Near Me - Belleville, New Jersey

Sonny's Nails will have you in and out short waits. Great atmosphere. I'm so indecisive and their staff really have an excellent eye for aesthetics that will fit YOU. So often they pick designs or colors for me & have never regretted their suggestions. Been going there for 2 years now. Very affordable and within those 2 years not one nail has broke ! (I get Gel btw). Pedicures are the best I've had ! Tu is my go to guy. He is a great artist! Suggestion- make an appointment cause they are often packed read more

I tried this place for the first time today and it wasn't too bad, the wait was typical for a Saturday. I was greeted when I walked in and then, waited about 15 minutes after my scheduled time. I got a regular manicure and my manicurist was very good and meticulous. I went here because it was close by and it did the job. There was no lotion applied before putting on nail polish which was something strange. The designs they do are pretty on point. I'd recommend this place for unique designs and full sets. read more

I gave them 4 stars in my last review but after today I'm done with this place. I just spent 3 hours here and I HATE MY NAILS. They are coated uneven, shaped crooked, and SLOPPY. Oh, and my nails are all different lengths. I usually go to Crystal Nails by Allwood Road in Clifton. Today they had a long wait so I decided to come here instead, and WAIST 3 hours and 40 dollars on garbage. I'll be heading back to them tomorrow to undo THIS. Aren't you supposed to feel relaxed at the salon? Not here.... leave with full blown anxiety for free. read more

Terrible job. Got a simple manicure and it came out horrible. He also cut me. Will not be returning to this place. Also very dirty inside. read more

Cons: very busy, small salon, overly hot Pros: friendly owner, good quality After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes, it was finally my turn for my gel manicure. The owner did my nails and he is very nice and friendly. He helped me pick a color and didn't rush my time. There are a lot of regulars so clearly they are doing something right. I will be going back and hopefully I can find a time when they are less busy. read more

So I am looking for a new nail salon in the Belleville area because my manicurist moved to a salon further away. I entered this nail salon and was treated terribly. This salon is not very friendly at least to new customers. The guy who was sitting doing nothing looked at me and said sorry we are too busy come back later. They obviously do not have time for new clients. read more

I can't believe how crooked this tech made my nails. I trusted her blindly after good reviews of the place, only to get home and realize how bad it looks. The polish has bubbles on most nails, and is turning yellow after a week. read more

Today was my first time coming to Sonny's and I was very impressed with the job that they did on my nails. I get the stiletto nails and Tally shaped and designed my nails exactly the way I asked her to; She was patient, meticulous and did my nails perfectly! The only con was that my appointment was scheduled at 1:00pm and I didn't get in the chair until 1:27pm, however it was well worth the wait. Also, the prices are extremely affordable. read more

I have been getting my nails done here so many years I can't even remember exactly long it has been. I really like sonnys Gel manicures. It is a little crowded on the weekends but he takes his time and is really talented when it comes to getting designs done as well. I usually play it safe with my color choice but this is my go to nail place! read more

The service is terrible. You have to keep track of who is in front of who or else the nail techs will literally just take anybody. Waited a ridiculously long time, because nobody would pick up the phone for an appointment!! Don't know the name of the guy who did my nails but his shape was crooked and I had to tell him to redo it TWICE. Would not go back. read more

I have been coming here for a year. Tu does my nails and I couldn't be happier. I have gone a whole month without getting them done and they all stay on. I also love that I can make an appointment so I don't wait. read more

I have been going to Sonny's nails for about 6 years now my nails can and DO usually last about a month with no lifting or any nails breaking , recently they've hired new nail tecs and this one male nail tec i don't know his name but the last 3 times I've got my nails done he's done them and my nails are lifting and breaking i got my nails done a week ago and i have 3 broken nails before my birthday which was on the 28th of January i got them done and 2 days later i had 2 broken nails for being a loyal customer for 6 years now to this place I'm highly upset and disappointed . This new guy should stick to manicures and let these other tecs work there magic when this nail tec does my nails there breaking left and right and i have to pay for them to fix it DEF might be taking my money elsewhere read more

This is the best place Ive ever had my nails done. I never have to wait because I always make an appointment. Lisa does a great job and is a skilled artist. Everyone is pretty friendly and is a great price for all the time they spend with you! Negative stars!!! It is dirty inside. I had to wait over 4 weeks to get an appointment and it was NOT worth the wait. I was not acknowledged when I walked in, the technician did not listen to anything I said and argued with me when I told him what I wanted. Overall it was a travesty!!!! Horrible customer service! Don't waste your time. read more

I have to admit that they did a fantastic job on my nails the first time I went in. However...I made a second appointment 3 weeks in advance. A friend of mine made an appt for the same day/time a week ahead. She waited 5 minutes and they took her right away. I waited over half an hour watching them take people who came in after me. When I spoke up, I was told oh you'll be next. I shouldn't have had to wait at all! I do NOT appreciate being treated like I'm invisible! I guess they were only taking the thin pretty women yesterday. I will NEVER go back there again. read more

I love it here and will still keep coming back I have been a customer for years and have never had a problem. And if I did have a problem with my nail chipping or something like that I would always call them and it was fixed as soon as I could get in there. But trust me it is worth it once you get them on the phone and make the appointment they are all great! Tu and Tali are my go too for nails and Anna always does a good job on my pedicure read more

I have been here before and loved my nails and they stayed on for a month, I know came back and I still love this place! Sonny has done my nails both times and is truly amazing, he takes his time and makes sure they are perfect, I also felt very welcome, most manicurists won't talk but he was very funny, the salon is not the most beautiful thing but that's not relevant really, my full set with polish and a gel topcoat costed $35, not bad. If they better organized the schedule its a good spot. Im beyond pissed. I called and they dont answer all day. I tried another day and finally get through to be told to come in at 1215pm. If I could I wouldn't even give it a star. First of all i came to do my gel manicure and the lady that did it did such a ugly job I was not happy she was rushing around like I'm getting my nails done for free. I came to take off my gel coating and I got charged $10 when other places they charged $5 the owner is such a nasty person saying well that's other places this is my place when I was asking nicely why there is such a difference when it's minimum work. Never coming back here. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone with such horrible customer service. Just disgusted by this place. Also very unsanitary. read more

This was my first time at Sonny's and I really enjoyed the fact that they took their time to make sure my nails matched my expectations. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE TALI! Noone will ever touch my nails again. I moved to Parsippany and tryed finding somewhere closer but noone could compare. Tali just gets it. She's FLAWLESS! She takes her time. I always make an appointment but if she's running behind I have noooo problem waiting. You can't put a price or time on perfection. I tell everyone to go to you. I'm constantly being asked about my nails and known for having some wild nails and that's alll thanks to Tali. I've been going there for the past 4 years and she's the only one to touch me. From reading recent reviews I can tell that this place has changed since a manicurist named Lisa left. I went to Tu to get a full set of gel tips and it was the cheapest I've ever seen. $40 for a full set.. wow! Tu is a great guy! He made conversation and made my experience enjoyable. Unfortunately I can not give this place a good review due to the quality of the nails. My tips started falling off 3 days after I got them done. I never experience that before. But I went back and Tu repaired them for no charge which was great. I guess you get what you pay for. I won't be going back here again though. All in all, the people there are very friendly and genuinely care about their customers but the quality of their nails is the worst I've ever seen. This place is a diamond in the rough. Talie did an amazing job. I waited a long time but it was worth it. They were crazy busy because it's graduation time. I highly recommend this place. You will be happy that you visited. read more

I've discovered this place relatively two years ago off and on because of how they operate. First of all, there is limited space to wait comfortably until someone assists you. Secondly, I would not call any section of it...a Spa. So, please save a trip. They say they go by Appointments, but when you rush to make your appointment your wait time is past 15-20 minutes long. The owner himself (Sonny) is snobbish and his wife falls in that same category unless you're a loyal customer who will tolerate the wait. It's a Catch 22. When I go without an appointment, I wait. When I book my appointment 2 weeks in advance, I wait. I left work behind, just to make it on time which I did. So, if you're willing to squeeze in the four seats provided or wait outside, the place is for you. If you're expecting a friendly greeting as a new or old customer when you walk in to support their nail salon, you'll be sadly disappointed. I walk up after waiting for 15-20 minutes and Sonny was going to throw me to get a pedicure to save time and money for double booking appointments. I had asked how much longer it will be and he rudely blurts out in his language something with an inhospitable tone. So, I politely and softly say, I will cancel my appointment out of courtesy before I exit and Sonny's wife just switches her eyes off to another customer and ignores me as I quickly leave the shop. Btw, a mani & pedi costs the same as a fill-in. Amazing. So, no, I'd rather pay more money somewhere else who values my time wisely. read more
