I had my nails done here by the new and improved owners. I had the pleasure of having Rosa the owner. She is amazing and so sweet cares very much about how I felt about the job. I will now be coming here regularly and told her I only want To come here to do my nails from now on I couldn't be happier and The reason why I didn't come here was because I thought it was the old owners. I came here by accident because I needed to get waxed then I saw it was new people and I took a shot and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. 20 stars!!!!! I got a full service. Very good. Friendly and competent staff from start to finish. The customers are nice. If you do not mind a small wait as a walk in, Top Nails is tops! I think late at night on a Saturday (around 7 pm) would be the best time for no wait time. I walked in, but I imagine an appointment would ensure no wait. Absolutely the worst manicure/pedicure experience. This is not my usual nail place, but since I live nearby I went in bc of convenience. The guy who serviced me was extremely rude. He was trying to upsell me on gel instead of regular polish but gel does not last more than three days on my nails so its not worth the price for me. After declining the upsell service he treated like trash for the rest of my service with him. He did not help me move my bags after my manicure then gave me an attitude for messing up the polish to one finger. During my pedicure he rushed through the service and did a polish job worse than a 5yr old. After he was done he did not help me roll my pants down, did help me with my bags, nor did he give me the standard massage as you sit to dry your nails. I do not recommend this salon at all. The place is dirty and the service is terrible. This nail technician just wiped off someone's cuticles from the cuticle cutter before using the same tool on me: no sanitation in between clients! If you are looking for a nail salon, do yourself a favor and keep walking pass this place. There are too many options to settle for terrible unsanitary services. read more

I am a flight attendant in Newark and started going to this salon a few months back. The service is decent and prices are standard. I recently had a bad experience and felt the need to comment on it... Two of the nail techs got into an extremely loud argument at the beginning of my session. Remember--nail salons are for relaxation. I was nothing but relaxed when two people were screaming in Vietnamese (?) across the room. The argument then turned physical about 10 minutes into the screaming match. I was appalled. As my technician was obviously upset, she took it out on my nail service. I was never once asked about anything I wanted--not if I wanted my nails trimmed down or shaped differently as she spent the entire time screaming at her coworker and on the phone. I was too annoyed to tell her to do them differently and as assumed, they turned out horrible. My cuticles are all cut up, my nails look like pointy witch nails, and to top it all off, the color began to chip off just hours after the appointment. After swearing I'd never return, I went back to get the polish and shape fixed. The manager had the audacity to have me book something the following day as they were "too busy." Tony is your go-to for all your full sets & fill-ins. He is the only one I would recommend here. Unfortunately, he only works a few days a month so its hard to get in sometimes. So much to say about this place... First off the parking is horrible. Second they have 4 techs and I believe there's only 1 that does what you ask for. The one lady with glasses uses the electric file like nobody's business.. So the entire time she's doing your nails you're in pain. The man who sits next to her is also horrible at his job. I had acrylics and I had asked him to change the shape and he did THE WORST job I have ever see. I can't even explain the anger I felt, I went home and soaked my hands in acetone because that's how disgusting my nails looked. And it wasn't just the shape, but the paint job. He got color gel all over my fingers. Uggggggggh The guy who sits next to him but my acrylics on once and he did not shape them to my fingers, they were too fat. Pai t job was fine tho. Now the young lady who sits next to the previous guy, LOVE HER. If I ever go back which I know I won't, she is the only one to ever do my nails. Again I had acrylics and I asked her to change the shape and she did exactly what I asked her. To the shape and color, I had such a good experience with her, had so many compliments that I went back.... Safe to say I won't ever go back, everyone has different experiences, but I have had alll of them do my nails and hated it almost every time. OHH I forgot to mention the wait is ridiculous. Have been going here for 10 years. Staff is very friendly and welcome you by name when you walk in. All services are great and they really try to please you by getting your nails exactly how you want it. I recommend this place to everyone who wants gel nails in the area. I'm a regular in the ironbound section, anywhere else is dirty and filled with gossipy women, this place is nice and quaint , clean and comfortable. Not great with outside designs but if you let them do their thing you won't be disappointed , my gel last for a long time. read more

They charge extra money for how long you want your nails, and i believe that is an extra charge that doesn't even last long. The nails always end up breaking. So why am i paying extra to get "long" nails if they break easily. very disappointing read more

The first time being in NJ I searched for the closest one to my hotel, soon finding Top Nails ll. I went to this salon with my sister and cousin and hoped for the best. Going inside it looked pretty decent until it was time to get our services , my little sister got up on the pedicure chair, I sat to get my nails done and my cousin continued to wait. I realized the lady in the pedicure chair before my sister had left and they didn't clean out the tub . Yes gross ! She asked the lady if she can clean it she lied and said she did and only rinsed it out. As I was getting my nails done I hear two young ladies yell at the nail techs because they charged for extra things they did but the ladies didn't ask for it . The girl doing my nails ( Kim ) was the ONLY good one there , besides the gentleman she sits next to . My sister got a pedicure from a 12 yr old and the paint job was horrible. My pedicure was the worse one I've ever had ( I wish Kim would have done it ). My cousin got a fullset that she had to guide the lady on doing because she used too much acrylic and would burn her fingers as she filed . When my sister was going to get a manicure she had shellac on from another salon. Top Nails ll wanted to charge 5$ just to take off the previous shellac . None of us left happy . Horrible service! I moved from NY to Jersey and was in search of a decent nail salon in my neighborhood. Huge mistake going here! Do not go to the Hispanic lady. She made my tips uneven, filing down some more than others. The shape sucked. The paint job sucked! Plus, I didn't have extra time for her to do it over. I left super unhappy.
