If you like nails that look like 2015 style then come here. They use the absolute worst nail glue and no base coat. They do not follow your inspo pic. Mind you I showed a simple color square nail shape and each of my nails look different and have different lengths and types of square shape. On top of this the customer service is subpar. I was super friendly and when I asked if I could add a pedicure (before I had the sense to see the finished product of my nails the lady doing my nails was rude and said no sarcastically. Luckily I had the sense to not get my toes done. My friend got the laziest most unsanitary pedicure. Reused dirty paper towel etc. To top it all off I was on the phone saying I didn't love my nails and the lady over heard me and instead of trying to rectify she went to the other lady doing my friends nails to talk about me in front of my friend!!! I realize I've been coming here every two weeks for three years for SNS and pedicures and never left a review. The first thing you should know is that you're better off making an appointment than walking in. Long gone are the days that you just walk into nail salons for service. It's unmanageable. They accommodate when they can, but save a headache and call for an appointment. Appointments help them manage their clientele and their revenue. Be mindful of that especially during this time when small businesses are failing. Flor is my main technician but I'd place a broken pinky finger in either Flor or Isabel's care. They're just that wonderful. It's a Latina-owned salon completely capable of every service any other nail salon in Newark can do. Good pedicures too with stone massage. The difference is that you're getting consistent work. The salon has a ton of regulars (including me) who are loyal customers that would happily pay more than their very fair prices to maintain this level of attention and care. I am a SNS junkie, using up their supply of glitter powder. You can look at my other reviews and see that I've gone through some things with other nail salons, so you can imagine my joy to have a place to frequent on a regular. This is one of the best nail salons in the area. When I call to book an appointment, they rarely disappoint. I like the decor. The staff is nice and they always do a good job on my nails. When I get a pedicure, the polish lasts for about two weeks unlike other salons I've been to. They used to accept debit/credit. Now they only accept cash, Cashapp or Venmo. The quality of this place has gone down recently. I haven't been feeling it lately . I feel like my nails have been rushed and the SNS powder has been sloppily applied, and in turn they have been breaking way more. As I mentioned in the last post, the pedicures aren't that good and now that my nails haven't been done well the last few times, I'm pretty much over it: I've had my SNS manicure chip the next day and numerous nail break. Then I stopped getting SNS powered and tried switching to regular gel and my manicure chipped a day lat. I went somewhere else today and the SNS manicure was way better. The woman took her time and really paid attention to detail. UPDATE: I had a last minute trip and I need my nails done right away so I went back here only because it was and emergency and I didn't have time to go elsewhere. I was hoping after some time away then maybe they returned to how good they used to be. But no.....this time I asked for them to add rhinestones on my nails. I paid $1 for each 2 rhinestones. When I tell you I went on my trip and by the next day EVERY SINGLE RHINESTONE HAD FELL OFF. I paid $65 with a $15 tip and my nails were completely ruined by the next day. And since I was out of town I couldn't even have them fix it. Also three nails broke. I hadn't had a nail break since I stopped going there. Won't be going back. read more

I've been here before and had a decent experience so when I went today I expected to have good results. But what I left with was less than satisfactory. I had my nails done four hours ago, and it looks like I've had them for two weeks. I mentioned my concerns, but my nail tech just didn't seem that concerned with doing an excellent job. I was tempted to ask her to redo them, but I didn't feel like causing drama. I now wish I'd said something. I don't typically post negative reviews, but I'm very unhappy with the product and the tech's unwillingness to provide great service considering I got them done for the holiday weekend. I got my nails done on Jan 22nd and had gotten the dip powder on my natural nails. Well unfortunately I had to return to fix my nails due to the clear nail polish chipping. So I returned Wednesday the 26th of January and we'll here we are on the 31st and my having the same issue. The nail polish is not sticking and has chipped once again. It's nowhere near me needing a fill-in so it's just a little inconvenient to have to go back up there for the same issue. As a Newark resident , I love the revitalization happening downtown and was glad to find a place so close. The business is clean, orderly and punctual. At first, the owner (I'm assuming) Isabel told me the first available appointment wasn't until 12:30. I was a bit disappointed, but could respect it because hopefully that meant they respected your time and didn't have you sitting all day. Fortunately for me, one of the women getting service decided to cut her services short because she wasn't feeling well and they were able to squeeze me in. My manicurist, Isabel, was polite, delicate and didn't go at my cuticles like she was carving a thanksgiving turkey. My nails came out lovely and The service was quick and affordable. I received a SNS Dip with the replacement of the tip of a single pinkie nail (all natural, but that one broke) I found them to be friendly, accommodating and the interior was clean, bright and relaxing. My Chic Nails is in a great location on Halsey street close to the coffee shops so you can grab a drink on your way in. The nail techs there take great care of you and make sure the attention to detail is there.
