Have definitely had some great experiences here in the past but lately it just is not it. Our waitress today was very sweet but then she just disappeared (found out later that she had gone home early) . Seeing we had waited a while for another waitress to give us the check we went to pay in the front. The sign does say to pay the bill with your server but we had sat at our table a good while with our dishes in a stack and did not want to stay any longer just wasting time. We got to the front, waited and the worker said we had to go back to our table and pay the waitress...I said we are done eating our table has already been cleared why would we go back and wait for someone to roll around? I walked around the dining area looking for our server and eventually just peeked into the kitchen to ask for assistance. A great server once told me "your only job as our guest is to sit and eat", and as a guest I do not think it was my job to chase down a server and I do not think it was at all appropriate for the worker to ask us to go back to our table when we had 1. Finished our food and 2. Had already waited a long while for our waitress who had already ended her shift. read more

This IHOP was very good!! The food was prepared perfectly. You can tell when the cook knows what he is doing. Out server was friendly and attentive. Very quick service and food also was prepared with little wait time. It's funny because I've paid a lot more at fancy restaurants but this was overall much better. I went in this morning with my family we were seated right away and ignored for close to 10 minutes. The one lady that was my waitress went back and Fourth to other customers without acknowledging us. At least say hi greet us and say I'll be right with you. I looked over at another table and saw a family seated after us and they were greeted by another waitress right away and got there food before us. Probably the worst service I've gotten from here for the first time. I come here all the time but it has been awhile. There's a wait so they wrote our names down. While we were waiting for 5-10 minutes I noticed the server calling people who came after us. They sat at least two parties before us. She crossed our names out without even calling us yet. After we were seated nobody came to even ask us what drinks we wanted or even let us know that they are our server. After waiting for a good 10 minutes a serve said "I'll be with you in 2 minutes." Long wait but I believe this is the only coffee house in Temecula (No Denny's). I'm not a pancake fan so I had the quick breakfast which is eggs, bacon, toast and hashbrown. My food was good, not anything you can mess up on really. However my daughter had the biscuits and gravy which she said wasn't tasty at all. A little on the pricey side for what you get. No greeting when we arrived and we just had to stand around waiting till finally someone showed up. Waitress was okay but food was poor. My food was luke warm like left out for a while before being served and the pancakes were hard on the outside and very dry. 2 eggs, 2 smallish pancakes, 1 small piece of bacon, and 1 small sausage was $7.95. I hate reviewing IHOP (Temecula, CA) with only one star, as I use to love this restaurant and ate breakfast there frequently. However, IHOP has increased their prices while simultaneously lowered their standards, quality, and portion size. I ordered the steak and eggs ($15.00) which included perhaps the singular lowest quality cut of beef I've ever been served in a restaurant. My son ordered a "plain" cheeseburger kid's meal and his bun was rock hard. We had to refuse it and have it taken off the bill. Also, the service was so slow. We decided to eat there tonight just to relax. It was Friday about 7:45 p.m. when we were seated. Our waitress, Katrina, came right over and took our drink orders and brought them back in a reasonable amount of time. That was the last time you will hear that phrase from me. We waited almost 20 minutes for her to take our order. We watched her running around between tables and the cash register. You would think it was busy, but you would be wrong. All together, there were 8 tables, all on one side of the restaurant, and there was another waitress working on at least 4 of them. When we placed our order, my husband had the California Scramble and I had the Bananas Foster Brioche French Toast. They looked great in the pictures. The California Scramble had sliced avocado and what looked like fresh pico de gallo on it, along with hash browns and pancakes. The Bananas Foster had 3 slices of French toast with sliced bananas and whipped cream on top of the sauce. In reality, the California Scramble was a pathetic looking blob of scrambled eggs smothered with runny salsa from a jar, the avocado slices were in a lump, and the hash browns were cut in a square and overcooked on both sides. The Bananas Foster was 3 pieces of French toast and exactly 5 thin slices of banana on top. That's not even two per slice! It was completely missing the whipped cream, and the sauce was almost non-existent. I took pictures to share with our family and friends. I realize that Katrina was not at fault for the cooking, but she only came by one time to check on us. My husband asked for a refill on his hot chocolate and she brought it and disappeared. We finished our meal and waited over 10 minutes to get our bill. She mentioned that she saw us "rubber-necking" and were we ready to go. Yeah, we were ready. It was now an hour since we came in to grab a quick meal. So, basically, the food tasted good but was not as it was advertised and the service was horrible. What can you say.....its I Hop. Breakfast foods are good, but we try to stay away from the rest of the menu. Its hard to mess up breakfast. Ok I usually never take the time to write reviews but boy this is bad. I've given this place 2 chances and they won't be getting a third from me. The first time I went I ordered the "Philly Cheese Steak Stacker". This was the greasiest sandwich I've ever seen in my life. I had to squeeze my bread out like a sponge just to make it edible. Ok, bad sandwiches happen and I can overlook mistakes but the real problem here was the service. As much as I wanted to complain our waitress was no where to be found (The place was not busy, maybe 4 or 5 full tables). After taking our orders and delivering drinks she didn't show up again until she saw us getting ready to leave. She never once asked us how our meal was. Fast forward to a few months later. While I had no interest, my mom really had her heart set on IHOP. Needless to say this is where we went. The service was much better this time. Our waiter was friendly and seemed to actually care about his job. The real issue this time was the food. My wife ordered eggs and toast. Her toast was beyond burnt. I really don't know how someone let that leave the kitchen. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. What I received was un-acceptable. For approximately $13 dollars I got 3 broccoli florets, a spoon of instant mashed potatoes and some cheap cut of meat that was smothered in this overpowering sausage gravy. My biggest problem here is the value. When I pay $13 for a meal and someone can't even give me real potatoes, c'mon, instant mashed at a restaurant. I wouldn't complain if I was paying 5 bucks at a fast food joint but this isn't supposed to be fast food and isn't marketed as such. So for $13 I ended up with 25 cents of broccoli, 5 cents of mashed potatoes and maybe a 2 dollar piece of un-edible meat (most of which got left on the table). That sounds like something I'd make at home for my kids when there's nothing else. Sorry, but this place is a no go for me. Bad food, bad service, and way over-priced. read more

I love going to IHOP just for their buttermilk pancakes. I never have problems with the service although it does take longer for our food to come out. Only reason why I'm upset now is we had ordered to go. Pick up food to come home with no syrup after asking for extra. Now here I am calling to talk to the manager and get either a busy signal or no answer. I have been trying to call for the past hr and still no luck. And when I finally actually got to order I had to wait 15 more minutes just for my chocolate milk! Absurd! Absolutely terrible experience and customer service. I tried calling to place a take out order and no answer. I walked in to place a take out order and what a complete disaster. A gentlemen in front of me asked the Manager(?) in the red shirt, "hey I've been waiting here for 45 minutes - can I please place an order?" The gentlemen in the red shirt responds, "if you don't like it - go somewhere else." Are you serious?! They were completely overwhelmed with the amount of orders, and I understand everyone was under pressure, but clearly the folks working today (Mother's Day) were not able to work under pressure nor where they able to provide acceptable customer service. Another gentlemen walked in who placed an online order over an hour ago and told the workers, "if my order is not ready, can you please cancel it?" The response from the iHop worker was, "I don't know figure it out online." I am shocked that this business would allow such horrific customer service. Very disappointing and disheartening - I am certain they lost a lot of customer's today. I waited an hour and a half and couldn't take it anymore and left. No order placed and no food. Thanks for ruining my Mother's Day morning. Lastly, the gentlemen in the red shirt and the lady who kept telling me, "one second, I know you want to order" should be given corrective action for the lack of empathy and poor customer service. whenever i come here, it's usually with my family for sunday brunch. i always order the exact same thing every time (there are just certain spots where i don't want to try anything else cuz i feel like i picked a winner; you can't blame me for not changing a winning formula). the servers for the most part have been there for years it seems because they all remember my order since it's never changed over the last 8-10 years haha: international passport (swedish) crepes, eggs over-medium, and a coffee. they're always very friendly and pretty fast about getting your orders in, checking in on us, dropping off the check, and even off-shoot tasks while we're dining like getting more napkins or more flavored creamer for the coffees. the only thing i would say is that sometimes they've gotten my family's orders wrong (most recently last sunday!) which is a bit unfortunate: either ordering the wrong dish completely (chicken instead of steak) or forgetting certain changes (wheat toast instead of pancakes) or something as simple as an extra plate (some of their dishes large enough that my mom will order it and split it with my sister). we're usually pretty easy-going about it, since we just take the time at the table to catch up on conversation as it's seldom that all 5 of us are in the same space. this is where i usually throw in the whole "this is why i always order the same thing" comment- because it's nearly impossible to get that order wrong if that's all i've gotten for the last 8-10 years. *sunday brunch is always a heavy traffic time so be prepared to wait a little if you get there during that time. at least you can enjoy the balloon animal artists make their rounds and enjoy all the different creations they can make. -civilities. read more

Disgusting! Just went here with a party of three.Went to butter my pancake and there's a short black hair in my pancake. Yum! No one in my party had dark hair. So I wave over the manager, point to it, say quietly 'there's hair in my food' as not to make a scene. He takes my plate, walks away, no apology. Has the waitress bring a new one. Our server was great. Coffee was fine. Their hash brown stacks or whatever are pretty good... The only thing that grossed me out was the tall asian waiter who wiped his nose on his arm at a table behind me. Waited for 15 mins with a party of 2. The party after us was sat first after she gave up her spot. Also a party of 2. My kids love pancakes, so every two weeks or so we end up at this place. You know what your getting, it's not gourmet.... but the servers are always friendly and welcome and the food comes hot and easy to eat. However....their bathrooms are never, never clean and bottom line (pun intended) that is gross. I've mention it twice now to the staff, time to get that taken care of! read more

customer service was not good today. I walked in and was not helped by the young man in front. He did not acknowledge me and kept helping guests who were paying. I waited 10 minutes and asked another lady if there was anyone who is seating and she responded by, she is over there and will help you. Unfortunately after seeing no one was seating, I left and went to Applebees where I was seated right away and taken care of.
