Me'sha was our server, very sweet and understanding for dealing with us at 3 in the morning May 31. What I didn't like was that I ordered grits and the Me'sha came back to the table saying that the cook didn't want to make no grits. Unfortunately our dining experience was horrible at this IHOP. The service and food was overall terrible. We waited for over an hour to receive our food. We found out that our server took 30 minutes to put our order in. My husband's T-bone steak was so tough due to reheating I assume. One manager came out and asked what could she do for us? Just had the worst experience at this IHOP. My family was driving back to Florida and we stopped near this IHOP since there were many hotels to rest for the night. We were hungry it was about 10pm and tired we sat down and that lady waiter was not very pleasant. Claudio the manager apologized he was very nice he's the one who cooked our food. I guess our server was new but Claudio I wanted to let you know that I had the worst service hopefully You as the manager can re-train the servers your staff to please attempt to bring the food at the same time for everyone and please ask the customers if everything is good or if they are missing anything. TL;DR - Ask for Jeff... and only Jeff 5-stars: I went here for lunch with my wife on a random Friday afternoon and was greeted at the door by Jeff, the incredibly helpful/knowledgeable/professional/awesome server. I understand that a Saturday morning rush is probably IHOP at its worst, but I still expected much more than what I got. After a very reasonable wait, we were shown to the booth we requested. We sat down and were immediately disappointed. The seats were dirty, and the table was decorated with crumbs and sticky rings where syrup or juice or milk had spilled. The server acted as if she'd already made all her money for the day, and barely acknowledged our existence. She brought weak coffee to the table, but I had to ask individually for creamer, sweetener, salt & pepper, and napkins. I ordered the T-Bone steak and eggs in an underhanded attempt to let her know that I'm not afraid to spend a few extra dollars. She either didn't notice or didn't care, because the service only got worse. I ordered my steak medium rare and my eggs over medium. Half of my steak was well done, and the other half was very very rare. My eggs were arrived at the table over easy. I got my server's attention and told her, "I don't want anything for free, nor do I want anyone to get into trouble, but please tell your grill cooks to be more careful with the steak." 30 seconds later I had an overbearing manager at my table offering to cook me another steak. NOPE!!! I'd much rather eat an unpleasant meal than risk letting her bring ANYTHING else to the table. A most disappointing IHOP. Service and food are very inconsistent -- portions smaller than the (now closed) location on Mall Blvd. Prices MUCH higher (almost $9.00 for the Breakfast Sampler and Bacon Temptation omelet). Management gets rotated in and out every two days, or so it seems. The franchisee is out of South Carolina, and in speaking with him it's evident that nothing will change. They now operate both locations (Gateway; Victory Dr.) in town. When addressing my grievances to this executive (Stacey L.), he said - and I quote - "Maybe your expectations are too high." Maybe he's right. Maybe good and attentive service, consistent food and good portions of it ARE too much to ask for his capabilities. Recommendation: Pass it up. If traveling on I-95, I'd suggest Denny's (that I'm even recommending Denny's should tell you something right there!), or - if traveling south - tell your growling stomach to wait another hour for the IHOP in Brunswick. If you're in Savannah and must have IHOP, find an excuse to drive to Statesboro. It's much better, and their prices are more reasonable. 05/14/2013 EDIT: Oops ... I was "filtered", whatever that means. Looks like only the positive reviews made the cut, and the filtered ones were both negative. Hmmmm. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! My wife and I came in for late dinner after a long drive from Ft Myers on our way to NYC. We came in at about 9:30 PM. Our initial server wasn't able to assist us in taking our drink orders, so her colleague took it instead. This was 15mins in. It took us another 15 minutes for our order to be taken....and another 20 before we've decided to all out. I was pleasantly surprised with this meal. Granted I haven't been to an IHOP in years and it seemed like they remodeled everything everywhere-like the cleaner, better designed syrup bottles for example. I had the healthy-nut blueberry pancakes with bananas (only about 6 slices, not enough). Incredibly clean with an extremely efficient staff. I got an egg white omelette with mushrooms & spinach... The veggies, including chopped tomatoes on top, were all incredibly fresh. This was a terrible experience from start to finish. This is probably the worst IHOP I've ever been to. The hostess was unfriendly and didn't care about her job at all. You'd think you want your friendliest face and best attitude being the first person your customers encounter. The waitress' attitude was just as bad. I honestly felt like there was a bit of racial prejudice towards my table. I'm allergic to eggs and asked for them on a separate plate so I could give them to someone else at my table... Stopped on the way back home for breakfast. Ordered and asked for coffee only recieved half a pot. Food took awhile to come out and when it did it was disgusting. Just wanted the check and leave. Waitress brought the check, paid with my credit card left a cash tip. When I arrived home I noticed that they over charged my card by 20.00 dollars, called immediately and asked to speak to the manager was told that he was on lunch would have to call me back, about an hour later I recieved a call from the crew chief, he said that the charge could not be fixed on my card and that they would mail me a check. A week ago I recieved yet another call from the GM named Addy stating that the check was mailed, it's been a week and still no check. Came in on a busy morning with a group of ten people, some visiting from out of the country and didn't speak English very well. Jazmine was our server and she did great! She was quick and efficient and very polite and was very kind and patient with everyone ordering. I was starving and decided I wanted breakfast for dinner. I went here with my family and ordered entirely too much food. I ordered the Colorado Omlette (with no sausage) add tomatoes with double blueberry pancakes as my side, and also an extra side of grits. Our waitress was very nice and constantly checked on is filling our refills making sure we didn't need to ask for anything. The service was nice. The bathroom was out of paper towels and they forgot my tomatoes off my Omlette (hence the one start deduction) but the waitress made up for it in great service. read more
