I'm not getting the high ratings? We're on vacation and looking to have breakfast close to where we are staying. Walking inside, its a modern looking spot that seems inviting for breakfast. Our waitress comes to our table and we're told she's in training. She's very personable and we start talking about the area. My mind is in vacation mode and I didn't have my guard up. The first thing I always ask, is the Corned Beef Hash made fresh or from a can?? I ordered the Corned Beef Founder's Hash & Egg plate. Not too much of a stretch: Eggs, toast, grits and Corned Beef Hash that's from a can. They took the hash and made it fancy by rolling it in a pan? Great breakfast spot with a large menu, friendly staff and good food! I went here on a weekend morning and was sat immediately. Since it was my first time visiting, I was happily surprised at the large menu and specials. To start, I ordered a hot latte with almond milk. It was really good! For food, I decided on the Goodness Gracious Omelet, which is an egg white omelet with spinach, onions, mushrooms, and feta cheese topped with sliced tomatoes. I also added turkey bacon for a small upcharge and opted for the fruit instead of the home fries. Everything was really good! There were a lot of tables inside and there is outdoor seating as well. If I could give this place a zero rating, that's exactly what I would do but Yelp does not allow me to do that so the minimum is one star this is what happened me and my family flew in from Los Angeles after a 10 hour flight we had to wait on the waiting list for 15 minutes, which was normal: . . We got sat down after that and waited an hour. Upon waiting an hour, the lady did not want to take our order because the kitchen was backed up with other orders. We got so tired of waiting so we decided to leave. When we wanted to leave, I asked for the bill so we can at least pay for our drinks. They were decent enough to give us the drinks for free. They also gave us the donuts which were free. honestly I wish I could leave a review about their food, but I could not even execute that. It is quite a really sad and depressing establishment when there is about eight tables waiting for their food. Most people that were waiting on the waiting list cannot stand the weight and end of them leaving. The worst part of it all is that waitresses were waiting for food from the kitchen, which was backed up. If the capacity of the kitchen is at low volume, then why have so many peoples available and empty? This makes no sense if the restaurant is incapable of serving food, then why not just close down and retire. I am definitely 100% never coming back to this place and highly recommend nobody else coming unless you want to wait for over an hour for some eggs and grits. read more

The ambience is modern and eclectic. Their food is very good, and their service and management are outstanding. We have a group of eight to ten neighbors that'll will all go out to breakfast together because we all like each other, are becoming better friends, and all enjoy eating breakfast out. One person in a group has a gluten allergy, which if you know of what I'm talking about, know this can certainly be challenging when eating out. I called the week before we dinned with Eggs Up Grill and I spoke with Kayleen their manager. She answered all of my detailed questions patiently. I learned that they have a special waffle girl, which is only used for gluten-free waffles. Without any prompting on my part Kayleen, made sure I understood that their pancakes are gluten friendly, and then explained the difference. Since their pancakes are all made on the same grill as their regular pancakes, that, in their terminology, is gluten friendly. Since their waffle grill is only used for gluten-free waffles, you get it! In my experience, this kind of care, patience, and detail is not always the case when inquiring about what restaurants will or will not do in relation to medical challenges Patrons may be facing. However, Eggs Up Grill has your back! Alexia, our server to start was a bit out of sorts but came around fast as our group assembled for breakfast! She handled nine different orders, respectfully taking all the women's orders in our group, first. She was patient with our questions, and explained to everyone satisfaction, the different menu choices so they could make their menu choices. Our food was served hot, delicious, and Alexia handled five different checks without missing a beat. Lori, one of the owners, stopped by our table to inquire how we enjoyed our food and service. Needless to say, we were all very happy to convey to Lori how much we enjoyed, with our experience dining in her establishment. While stress and strain comes to most of us at some moments or moments in our lifetime. Great places to eat, while enjoying the company of friends in an emotionally warming atmosphere, is always, certainly a welcomed joy. So forget your life's demands for a few minutes, and enjoy breakfast or lunch at Eggs Up Grill. Why? Because you may just feel that you can handle things better on a full stomach and a more stable, mental and emotional outlook on your day! Located in the new Riverside Plaza this place is bright, well decorated by the owner, and the food is delicious. Been here three times now and happy each time. The waitstaff are all experienced, personable, and friendly. Many of the runners and support staff look like clean cut high school or college students. Good value for the money with lots of choices. For a diner experience, I'm giving five stars. The interior was so light and airy, fun kitschy artwork graced the walls, furniture was simple but attractive, atmosphere bustled and the staff were all cordial and helpful. The menu was well organized and easy to read, a big plus when a restaurant offers so many varied items. There would be a major issue if a customer couldn't find something to appeal to his or her palate here. So many dishes sounded so tempting....freshly made croissant donuts, crème brûlée French toast, crab cake Benedict, chicken fried steak n eggs, Belgian waffles, buttermilk, caramel apple, and strawberries n cream pancakes, breakfast platters, burritos, omelettes, bowls, etc etc. Lunch items included burgers, salads, melts and sandwiches. Better come hungry as the ample portions would easily fill up most stomachs. My husband and I sat at the counter as we were pressed for time. We split a perfectly made patty melt with fries. Usually this preparation is made on rye but the expertly griddled Texas toast was just as good. We have eaten enough of our share of smash patties, but theirs stood out in spades. The meat actually had the lacy crispy edges that this preparation is supposed to create. Bonus that some of the American and Swiss cheeses oozed out and caramelized as well creating a toasty, nutty, decadent flavor. Fries could have been better had they had a quick dunk in some hot oil before serving. The spuds were then tossed in some light spices, but it really didn't do much to add flavor. Better to perfect a great fried potato than trying to introduce a spice mix that fell flat. Yes, we will be back. Not a lost cause but menus needs a lot of work. The "baked" items like biscuits, pancakes, etc are fine. The sausage gravy was an embarrassment to the south and simply not good. They barely put any of it on the plate which is a problem, but didn't want it anyway. It also had almost no sausage in it at all.... Scrambled eggs severely overcooked (breakfast 101 fail). Avocado toast was sliced avocados with a salsa that was also not good, some fresh ingredients added to canned tomatoes does not yield anything worthy of serving. If you are going to specialize in breakfast, it needs to be good. This missed the mark on so many levels. Menu overhaul needed. read more

Thursday the 20th. This morning early was in for a bite. I witnessed the same tall head manager that I warned you about. Yelling at another server. I really believe she's got a lot of personal problems she needs to work through before she is in that position again .We have had this server a few times and she is good at her job. She has been there a long time. I think what I heard was she is giving her 2 weeks notice sad ,you're going to lose yet another good hard worker. Seems like lately every time we are there this manager is causing havoc and discontent. Not good , you're going to lose a lot of business if she continue to work their. Went for breakfast and ordered the Grand Classic. Except for the eggs and toast all other food seemed like it had been cooked hours ago and left under a heating lamp. The bacon, sausage and homefries were cold and dry. The homefries were nearly inedible as they were cold and hard as a rock. I mentioned to the server, who simply apologized. When Eggs Up Grill first opened in Blufton and the owner was onsite, the food was excellent. Clearly the quality has suffered in recent weeks. Very disappointing. I will not return again. read more

My daughter and I came for breakfast one day. We were seated quickly. The staff are extremely friendly and very lovely. However, the food is subpar to say the least. It did take time to get out and was not extremely busy but very low quality meat. I really would recommend looking at the food quality dish by dish and working on an improvement plan. I ordered two eggs over medium, bacon, American cheese on a roll with salt and pepper to go. Lukas was very nice. He told me it would be the grand classic. I said okay. He asked what sides I would like and I said none, just wanted the egg sandwich. He asked what type of bread I wanted( I already told him on a roll). That wasn't an option. I said on an English muffin would be fine. He said that it will cost $16.18. I should've checked the menu first, my fault. I was taken back on that price for an egg sandwich. I said okay because I already took up some of his time. I got the order fairly quick, so I grabbed the bag and left. When I got in my truck, I opened the box...to find two eggs over easy with a slice of cheese on them, bacon next to it, and a toasted English muffin sitting on top, no salt or pepper. I didn't know that I had to put it all together. I was disappointed to say the least. Doesn't anyone pay attention to details? The food tasted fine although I kinda lost my desire to eat it but I ate it because I was hungry. I will not be going back there. Just read the owner's response to my review concerning the blending of whites & yellows of fresh eggs. Someone is lying to you and a video doesn't confirm we are the ones lying--offense taken. Yes, there was a miscommunication where the server thought the whites needed to be removed and told us an up charge would be applied. It was then explained that only the scrambled eggs needed to be better prepared by whipping. When the food was served the request was completely ignored and that's when the comment came about how it couldn't be done due to their freshness. (Look at the video. It is at this point we laughed.) The eggs were not eaten and no restitution was offered, hence, the many levels of mistreatment here. read more

I was there with a friend a couple of weeks ago and had their breakfast bowl. I am not a fan of anything seasoned hot - at all! That dish that was put in front of me was inedible because my mouth was burning and took an hour or two for that sensation to leave my mouth. The server asked if everything was OK, I replied to my displeasure for that dish, and she just apologized and left. I paid for something that was disgusting and couldn't eat. I won't EVER go back there. People, just because YOU like hot stuff, doesn't mean everyone does or that everyone can eat hot stuff, How about putting that fact that a hot seasoning is the damn dish, on the menu? We had heard of a new restaurant in our area, Eggs Up Grill. Our first visit was okay. We were seated quickly. The server was very good, friendly and efficient. It took a while for the food to come out. When we got it, the eggs were already cool to the touch and the gravy on my biscuit was already congealed. I wasn't going to say anything but the manager walked by and asked how everything was. She dismissed my comment and walked away. We always give a restaurant a second chance. We went back. Again, we were seated quickly. The server didn't acknowledge us for quite a while. We ordered and again it took some time for the food to arrive. Again, the eggs were cool to the touch. My order was different than the first visit but still had a biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was normal sized but the gravy came in the tiniest condiment container. I asked the server about it and she responded, "Yes, that's the proper serving. You can order a side of gravy if you want." The gravy barely covered half a biscuit. Gravy is cheap...come on. Side note: The food is put under heat lamps when the kitchen is done with the plating. It seems to sit there for too long or the heat lamps aren't adjusted properly. Work on getting the food out quicker, the customer deserves to get it while it's hot. It's expected for the price you charge. read more
