I've only been to WH one other time. This was a much better experience. The breakfast was really good and our server was darling. She was full of personality and joy. Loved it. Loud, rude, Dirty. Dirty dishes stacked on most tables. Dirty mop bucket resting beside the tables. Loud music to entertain the marginally engaged staff and to irritate the customers. Politely asking to have it turned, angered an already unpleasant waitress. The utensils were brought with a wet napkin. I don't know anyone who would eat in such a place. Someone must though. You've got an early start, your driving up or down I 95. Suddenly after a couple of hours of driving you realise you haven't eaten breakfast. About that same moment the Waffle House sign pops up off to the side of the road. You think to yourself, I haven't been there in a long time, so should I get off and eat? I would highly recommend you do! Why? Because they will cook you anything you'd like on their menu anytime during the day or night. The eggs are great, the waffles are perfect, the Service is friendly, fast, and efficient. Their coffee is very good. And they offer a Senior menu which is quite economical. And quite frankly, you never really know what's gonna happen in a Waffle House. Like the time in Florence, South Carolina when a snowstorm closed I 95 in South Carolina. We were forced to get a hotel right off I 95 because our new Toyota Prius is so low to the ground that we literally could not continue to drive. Ain't no plows, down chere! Their staff was trapped and was unable to move their automobiles as well! They stayed and fed all of us being forced off of I95 until they had no more food to offer. And yes, they all have families which they were deeply concerned and worried about. But their entire staff chose to help all of us get fed out of their very courteous and generous hearts. We all got to share our I 95 snow stories, we told jokes, and we helped some push their cars into the hotel parking lot. It was one of my best experiences at any restaurant because of all the charity and warmth from everyone involved. We all pulled together and chose to ignore the snowstorm! The next morning the same staff, who were all now pulling a quadruple shift, somehow had gotten a truck through, and fed us all breakfast, again. Why Waffle house for both a very late dinner and breakfast? Because no one else would open their restaurants or fast food restaurants. Waffle house did and stayed open! Or maybe you will go out for breakfast at the Waffle House in Hardeeville, South Carolina and you will get to meet a little girl who is only four years old who will actually climb up into your booth and will start talking with your child-whisperer Wife who was a tremendously gifted grade school teacher. She will come from the booth which is directly located behind yours where her Mother and Aunt are seated. They will politely ask if she is bothering you? And of course, we told them "no, we really love children." And again, you'll have one of the best conversations you've had in quite a while with a remarkably loving child. So maybe it's only a great breakfast, hamburgers, grilled cheeses and BLT's. But maybe, just maybe, you will get to have a remarkably warm human interaction you never expected and one that you will never forget for the rest of your life. We did! Both of those remarkable and unforgettable events happened at a Waffle House off of I 95. And that ambience is ALL-WORLD, best ever, and truly never found any other restaurant! Because is that not what many of us want to experience each, and every time we dine out? But rarely, if ever happens. Everything was great! We have enjoyed every visit to this restaurant. The staff is always friendly. Service has always been wonderful. I'm amazed that the cooks can remember all of the orders and get them out properly. Our food is always fresh and served hot. They get busy but they still turn out a quality product. Its nice to pull up and see the classic Waffle House sign. We get quality service and food everytime. Good food at affordable prices. Because of that, we've seen a lot of first time customers lately. The worker was very rude as soon as we walked in . Had a very nasty attitud. We walked in On 11/12 at 7:00pm and as soon as we walked in she started to yell and tell us that it would be a wait which was not the proboem but her tone was very rude for no reason. read more

I frequent this particular waffle house. While the food is great there is one staff member in particular that always has a negative attitude. Her name is Dominque and the way she speaks to the customers and her fellow staff members is appalling. It really makes the entire atmosphere unappealing. She could definitely use a lesson in customer service etiquette. read more

Incredibly average. Hardly spectacular but not awful either. We stopped for breakfast on a Friday morning and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had a side of biscuits and gravy and the grits breakfast bowl. The grits breakfast bowl is a bowl of grits topped with a slice of American cheese, scrambled eggs and pork sausage. My wife had the hash brown bowl (swap the grits for hash browned potatoes). None of the dishes came out hot. It was just OK. I will say the service was attentive. No complaints there. read more

This was our first stop on our long drive from South Carolina to Dallas. The staff was friendly & courteous and the food was great!

Waffle House is one of my favorite places to go get some breakfast food, fast. Not just a biscuit, but I mean a full plate breakfast of waffle & omelette. Always a great late night stop after bars or drinking, but also good before hitting the road for a trip. I stopped here when leaving Bluffton, had the ceremonial greet upon entering and settled at the counter. With the grill in front of me and the serving staff all busy, I took 10 seconds and ordered my favorites. I love the waffle, as simple as it is, it works for me. Always hot, with just the right crispy exterior yet soft chewy inside. Then a ham & cheese omelette with their potatoes; I just love the fluffy omelette and the gooey cheese inside. This filled me up and I enjoyed it all. The staff here was consistently working well, even as they yelled out orders and talked loud to each other or customers. This is the Waffle House, not Chez Nous. Plus my coffee was well filled as needed, and my food was good. Plenty of parking, and the tables turned here. A good stop! read more

Passing thru on drive back to airport. All vacation we kept saying we needed to eat at a WH. FINALLY WE DID. So glad we picked this one. Staff greeted us upon arrival and cleaned us a place at the counter. Was a treat to watch the staff cook and work together like a true team. They laughed and chatted just like most people do when they get together in the kitchen. The food was perfect and the bacon was a treat. And the waffles were the best part. I am a regular at this place, I eat here at least twice a week. I went there today on Fathers Day, waited in line then took a booth that opened up. I was asked to move to the counter since I was alone. I was very surprised they said this to me, Waitress had no smile on her face, no apology, nothing, just told me to move to the counter I chose to leave. Guys who overheard offered to let me sit at their table with them but I could not do that. They lost my business. I will dine elsewhere. I give this place less than one store I'm not talking about this particular location I'm talking about Waffle House chain is a whole I used to live in Colorado for 32 years and the guy club owner who would let me use his Club tomorrow and I have my fashion shows in you know he like this greasy food ill prepared and it was just crazy I got glass in my food now for you all who are old school and you know many rippleton I was soaking second soprano in music school or if you were a little more current you know Mariah Carey her glass breaking notes that was ease for me to do and now you know I have so much going on in my life my tongue is all cut up permanently for the rest of my life and no circuit soprano notes I can't hit I mean I have actually right down what I was saying the next day when I went back in there and I told that guy you give me the whole why I made him give me the whole trash bag that day and their whole corporate company denied me gave me the runaround wouldn't even pay basic hospital bill or you know anything they just totally ignore the situation I went through pure hell please don't waste your money eating at Waffle House cuz ain't no telling what you might get in your food and it was hidden in my grits I couldn't believe it and I bet it down on something hard and I thought well maybe that's a bone but I didn't get any steak and then when I spit it out I could see my flesh through it and I was like what the hell is this glass and you can see the bite mark in it and I caught that particular piece the glass shattered and I caught it right before I swallowed it but God only knows how much glass I ingested but it took about several months of pure Hill to get the glass to pass and when it did it came out twisted up through my nose . So if you enjoy mention out on glass and weird unedible objects in your food and you suffer from Pica then this is the perfect restaurant for you but if you want something clean non-greasy and non-dangerous food then go elsewhere please read more

I go there a few times when I pick up shifts in Hardeeville. Every time I go service is good, cleanliness is ok, food is alright, I strike up conversations with the staff waiting for food (I always get to go). I work next to the hospital so there are not many options to choose from, but even if there was, this would be up there with what I would choose. read more

Best Waffle House I've experienced and I've eaten at many in the southeast. Clean and great customer service. Food has been consistently very good. Positive vibe. Every time I've visited this WH, the staff sings along to the music on the jukebox which really uplifts the mood of the customers. The staff's attitude is jolly. I hate giving bad reviews, but this Waffle House is deserving of a less than stellar review. My husband and I ate here every Sunday for three weeks and had an increasingly negative experience each time. The food is inconsistent ie. Runny eggs then overcooked eggs, coffee was cold or old. The staff seemed more interested in playing on their phones than interacting with customers, or their personal conversations were so loud (shouted across the restaurant) it made the environment very uncomfortable. There are several Waffle Houses (some of them just an exit away)...my recommendation is to choose one of those Waffle Houses and not this one. read more
